100 Police Agencies to DNC: Find Your Own Convention Security!

More than 100 police agencies who had agreed to send officers to help Democrats secure their upcoming Democratic National Convention have now sent word to the party of “Defund the Police”: Find someone else to guard your event!

Aggrieved by the Democrats and their constant rhetoric against police, their attempts to cut law enforcement funding, and their efforts to limit officers from being able to use all of the tools at their disposal to tamp down riots, these police agencies have pulled out of their security agreements.

According to the Associated Press, the trouble started when Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales was directed by Democrats to change the agency’s policies to ban the use of tear gas and pepper spray.

“Since the Milwaukee order was issued, more than 100 law enforcement agencies in Wisconsin and across the country decided against coming to Milwaukee, Morales told WTMJ-TV on Tuesday,” the AP reported. “They were concerned with directives placed on the police department, including not allowing tear gas or pepper spray, he said.”

Democratic Party rhetoric against the police has only escalated in recent weeks as riots continue to surge in Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle, and elsewhere. Using extraordinarily strained logic, Democrats have attempted to blame federal officers for making matters worse. Apparently the “right” thing to do, as far as they’re concerned, is to stand by and allow these rioters to destroy whatever they want, loot the stores they wish to loot, and take over whole sections of their cities if they feel so inclined.

“The demonization of police is not only unfair and inconsistent with the principle that all people should be treated as individuals, but gravely injurious to our inner city communities. There is no harder job in America today than being a police officer,” said Attorney General William Barr in a statement to Congress on Tuesday.

As for police chiefs, they aren’t about to put their men at risk of physical harm just to guard the Democratic National Convention – an event celebrating the very party that is so determined to vilify the boys in blue.

“It is apparent there is a lack of commitment to provide the Milwaukee Police Department with the resources it needs to ensure the safety of peaceful protesters, attendees, citizens and police personnel,” said Chief Rick Oliva of Wisconsin’s Franklin Police Department. “I cannot send personnel if they are not properly equipped or will not be allowed to engage in appropriate actions which would ensure their safety.”

If it is the goal of Democrats to see what society looks like when police are abolished, they may get a sneak preview when they bring their convention to Milwaukee next month. Of course, given their alternate-reality view of how things are going in Portland, we’re sure they’ll dismiss reports (or even videos) of mob violence as nothing more than a right-wing “myth.”
