Actress Rose McGowan: Impeachment is Nothing But “Cult Propaganda”

Actress and #MeToo proponent Rose McGowan is hardly what we’d call a card-carrying MAGA supporter, but even she sees through the intensely illogical effort on the part of Democrats to impeach and convict a president with less than a week left before he leaves office. McGowan, who has been harshly critical of the Democratic Party’s many hypocrisies when it comes to protecting women from sexual assault, said that Trump’s second impeachment was little more than red meat for frothing leftist voters.

“This impeachment is Cult propaganda. A theater of mass distraction. US cult members on the left will cheer, those on the right will be in a fury. And the country’s starving, sick & poor will sink farther & farther,” she wrote. “Good thing the Elites are leading us!”

The lie that this impeachment is somehow different and more bipartisan than the last one was exposed by the vote in the House – a meager 10 Republicans supported the impeachment. It’s further undermined by public polling; a recent NBC News poll shows that a mere 8% of Republicans want Trump impeached. Overall, 48% of the country is opposed to Trump’s impeachment. Just like last time, this is a Democrat initiative – by Dems and for Dems. The idea that it serves any legitimate constitutional purpose whatsoever is a joke, no matter how you feel about the highly-questionable claim that Trump “incited” the Capitol riot.

Last year, enraged by the Democratic Party and the left-wing media’s refusal to give Tara Reade’s sexual assault claims any oxygen, McGowan said she was disgusted.

“I used to be a proud Democrat. I used to be a proud American,” she said at the time. “I would’ve died for this damn country and its ideals. I was raised to be a proud Democrat. When my youngest brother graduated as a fighter pilot at the Air Force Academy, I wore a Vote John Kerry pin (lol), got into verbal altercations with big men who were mad I was a Democrat. They were twice my size and I had to listen to GW Bush give the keynote address and John Ashcroft singing his terrible eagle song.”

But McGowan said that she could no longer square herself with those views.

“I was always told it was the Democratic Party that were the good guys, that our papers were The New York Times and The Washington Post,” she said. “But now I know too much. And I feel really quite a sense of loss tonight.”

Let’s face the facts head-on: The Democratic Party has used their voters’ hatred of Trump to raise more donations than ever before in their history. They may be outwardly celebrating his imminent exit from the presidency, but they (and their media allies) are completely clueless about how to keep the gravy train rolling in his absence. THAT’S what impeachment is really about – keeping their best enemy right at the forefront, even when he’s not.

It certainly beats trying to get people excited about Joe Biden’s agenda.
