Adam Schiff is Excited to Investigate President Trump…Again
Someone grab Rep. Adam Schiff by the collar. The mangy mutt of the House Intelligence Committee may not be infected with the coronavirus, but he’s been driven to the point of madness by another unfortunate illness: Trump Derangement Syndrome. And, much like a dog who has been teased by two imaginary bones over the last four years – the Russia hoax and the Ukraine nothingburger – Schiff is determined not to let Bone #3 escape his jaws.
That’s why, while the rest of the federal government is focused on fighting the coronavirus and getting financial aid to those who need it, Schiff is salivating over the thought of launching yet another investigation into the president.
“After Pearl Harbor and 9/11, we looked at what went wrong to learn from our mistakes,” Schiff tweeted on Wednesday. “Once we’ve recovered, we need a nonpartisan commission to review our response and how we can better prepare for the next pandemic. I’m working on a bill to do that.”
Oh good, said no one.
Rep. Devin Nunes, the ranking Republican on the Intelligence Committee, accused Schiff of playing politics at a time of crisis.
“His Russia collusion hoax failed, his Ukraine scam failed, and his efforts to cover up FISA failed,” said Nunes in an interview with Fox News. “So, Schiff is launching yet another dumb stunt to justify his never-ending media relations operation.”
Nunes was echoed by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who said in a statement, “The same people who delayed the Coronavirus relief bill because they demanded giveaways for special interests and millions for the Kennedy Center now want to create a commission to attack the Trump Administration’s response? Give me a break. And the person who is leading this effort is Adam Schiff — the same Adam Schiff who released the phone records of the President’s personal attorney, a journalist, and a sitting Member of Congress. We should focus on stopping the virus, not politicizing the crisis.”
Unfortunately, if a guy like Schiff doesn’t have anything to politicize, he has nothing at all. What’s he supposed to do? Actually provide oversight for the U.S. intelligence community? No, we’ve seen that he has absolutely no interest in that. Work for the good of his hometown constituents? Nah, his district is overrun with homeless people, and he’s done nothing about it. Work to improve the efficiency of our coronavirus response? No, no, it’s more fun and profitable to sit back and cast stones at President Trump.
We already knew that Schiff was a disgrace to Congress, but for some reason he still thinks he needs to prove it.
