Braindead Celebs Blame Republicans for Latest School Shooting

0

We tuned into the news the moment we heard about the latest tragic school shooting in Parkland, Florida on Wednesday. Maybe we shouldn’t have been surprised to see the hosts and panelists already reading from the same old, tired gun control script they trot out every time one of these unfortunate events goes down, but it seems that the moments between the first reports and the politicization get shorter every time. There’s no time anymore for straight fact reporting. Whether it’s CNN, MSNBC, or, let’s face it, even Fox News, the anchors have to immediately get down to the brass tacks of figuring out who to blame…other than, you know, the actual damn shooter.

Speaking of Fox News, let’s just get this out of the way, because Shepherd Smith was one of those anchors who just couldn’t wait to grab the Gun Control Horn and give it a toot. There weren’t even any initial reports on a number of fatalities by the time Smith was grumbling away to Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) about what Washington should do to address these shootings.

“Each time this happens, and how many have happened?” Nelson asked. “We say, enough is enough, and then it happens again.”

“What could Congress do?” asked Smith.

“Well,” Nelson said, “we could not even pass a bill that would take the terrorist watch list and prohibit them a high caliber weapon or any weapon. We couldn’t even get that passed. So when you say ‘What can be done,’ I don’t know the answer to that.”

At least Nelson is being honest about having no clue as to what Congress could or would do about these shootings. That’s a piece better than the celebrities on Twitter, who all seem to know exactly who to blame for Wednesday’s massacre.

“Seventeen more of our young people dead, killed by a shooter with an automatic weapon he had no business having,” wrote Nancy Sinatra. “WAKE UP @HouseGOP and pass sensible gun laws NOW. Stop the carnage.”

We ask yet again: What “sensible” gun laws could be passed that would have prevented this tragedy?

“Another school shooting. This time in Florida. A white male is the gunman. Bet it’s STILL not time to talk about #GunControl,” Yvette Nicole Brown tweeted.

A white male is the gunman. Really? What exactly does THAT mean?

“We have to elect candidates that are not funded by the NRA in November,” wrote Chelsea Handler. “We have an opportunity to elect candidates who won’t allow kids to go to school and get shot. It is disgusting how many times this has happened and Republicans do nothing. You all have blood on your hands.”

What a disgusting and wrongheaded sentiment. Although we’d love to hear from these candidates who “won’t allow” these things to ever happen again. They must know something we don’t.

So it’s the same refrain, over and over again. Republicans are evil, universal background checks (which we already have), the NRA is a terrorist organization, blah blah blah. The moment these idiots actually come up with a solution to these shootings that comes anywhere near the concept of “sensible” without dangerously curtailing freedom, we’re all ears. Until then, they can safely be dismissed as the rabid liberal vultures that they are.
