Evangelist: Anti-American Muslims Have Obama’s Ear
Prominent evangelist Franklin Graham has been an outspoken critic of President Obama for almost as long as he’s been in the White House, but his comments went even further than usual last week in an interview with The 700 Club. According to Graham – the son of legendary minister Billy Graham – the president is so taken with Islam that he has put Jews and Christians in mortal danger.
“We’re going to see persecution in this country because our president is very sympathetic to Islam, and the reason I say that … is because his father was a Muslim, gave him a Muslim name, Barack Hussein Obama,” Graham said.
Graham went on to note that Obama’s mother married another Muslim man, moved to Indonesia, and sent the future president to Indonesian schools where he was surrounded and influenced by Islam. He says this childhood resulted in the man we see today – a man willing to ignore reality if it means protecting a religion’s reputation. “There are Muslims that have access to him in the White House,” he said. Those Muslims, he contends, hate the United States, Israel, Christianity, and Judaism. And it is because of their influence that a “storm is coming.”
Obama’s True Religion
Graham’s criticisms match the evidence. The president has failed to denounce Islam at any time in the last six years, even when questioned publicly about his faith. While he maintains that he is a practicing Christian, he never hesitates to throw Christianity (and America itself) under the bus if it means he can defend the “religion of peace.”
His public speeches – loathsome as they are – pale in comparison to the stories we hear from behind the curtain. Many have forgotten what Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed About Gheit said in 2010. In an interview with Egypt’s Nile-TV, Gheit recalled Obama telling him that he was still a Muslim, still had the interests of the Muslim world in his heart, and that they would soon see what he would do with Israel. The story was predictably ignored by the president’s cheerleaders in the press.
Then there is Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Obama’s relationship with Wright was so controversial that it nearly derailed his 2008 campaign. But what’s most interesting is what Wright said in a 2012 interview with journalist Ed Klein. When asked about converting Obama to Christianity, Wright demurred. “Well, I don’t know if I could go that far, but I can tell you that I made it comfortable for him to accept Christianity without having to renounce his Islamic background.”
Obama is no Christian. He “converted” to expedite his political career and he has been lying about his true faith ever since. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with being a Muslim, but there is something very wrong about hiding that fact in order to mislead the American people. And there is something very scary about showing favoritism towards this religion when it is the very one responsible for the vast majority of terror over the last twenty years.
Many of us were gobsmacked when a man named Barack Hussein Obama was elected president of the United States only seven short years after 9/11. We were denounced as racists. Xenophobes. Bigots. Obama may not be the Antichrist, and he may not be a secret Al Qaeda operative, but what he really is remains a mystery. One thing is certain: he is the wrong president for these troubled times.
