Harvard Launches “Resistance School” for Anti-Trumpers Everywhere
Liberal students at Harvard University are publicizing a free anti-Trump “Resistance School,” a four-week course offered to anyone who wants to attend. According to CNN, the organizers are hoping their efforts will give activists “the skills they need to take collective action and effectively resist the Trump agenda.”
The classes, held at the Kennedy School but not officially sanctioned by Harvard, will teach attendees such lessons as: How to Communicate our Values in Political Advocacy, How to Sustain the Resistance Long-Term, and How to Mobilize and Organize our Communities.
“Resistance School started with a couple of students chatting with a couple of professors, having a sense of outrage and despair and beginning to feel overwhelmed and exhausted with the question of ‘What are we going to do after the election?’” Shanoor Seervai, one of the organizers, told CNN.
Resistance School’s founders aren’t ashamed to indulge delusions of grandeur; the Boston Globe says they compare themselves to “Dumbledore’s Army,” the students who fought the forces of evil in the Harry Potter universe.
On their website, the school says it’s important for progressives to stand together against the GOP agenda.
“Republicans now control the Senate, House, and more state legislatures than they have in almost 200 years,” the website says. “Those losses have emboldened the right to launch an all-out attack against our nation’s creed — that all are created equal.”
In exactly what way has the Republican-controlled government launched these attacks? Pausing immigration from seven terrorist havens…does that speak to the inherent “equality” of those people? No. It speaks to the obvious inequality of their governments, which, in many cases can hardly even be called governments. Enforcing our border laws – does that mean illegal immigrants are “not as good” as American citizens? Of course not. It simply means they broke the law. And if there are no consequences for that, then we basically don’t have a law.
Instead of a complex, four-week course, these entitled idiots should just offer one course: How to vote. Because the ballot box is the only place your silly resistance will actually accomplish anything. It’s where you could have accomplished something last November if you actually cared this much about the direction of the government. And hey, maybe you did vote. Great. Time to accept the fact that you lost.
Still, if you need a bunch of Ivy League brats to show you how to save America, classes are available.
