If Trump Can Turn Black Voters, the Democrats Are Finished
Donald Trump pursued an extraordinary new campaign direction last week, reaching out to a voting block typically ignored by Republican presidential nominees: African-Americans.
“If African-American voters give Donald Trump a chance by giving me their vote, the result for them will be amazing,” the candidate said at a North Carolina rally on Thursday.
In Dimondale, Michigan the next day, Trump pleaded with black Democrats to think twice about who they’re supporting in the election.
“The only way to change results is to change leadership,” he said. “We can never fix our problems by relying on the same politicians who created our problems in the first place. A new future requires brand new leadership.
“Look at how much African-American communities are suffering from Democratic control,” he continued. “To those I say the following: What do you have to lose by trying something new like Trump? What do you have to lose? You live in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58 percent of your youth is unemployed. What the hell do you have to lose?”
Trump’s new strategy, if it has even the slightest effect on poll numbers over the next couple of weeks, will bring out a new level of panic from the mainstream liberal establishment. You thought they were already panicking? No, no. If they sense that the Democratic Party is in danger of losing black voters, we will see a media meltdown without precedent. This election will no longer be about securing victory for Hillary Clinton; it will be about preserving the future of the party itself. Without (almost all) black voters on their side, the Democratic Party would quickly become obsolete as a national political instrument.
“So ignorant it’s staggering,” tweeted Hillary in the wake of Trump’s Michigan comments.
But that’s the thing: it’s not ignorant. In fact, Trump is speaking a truth that rarely sees the light of day outside the conservative blogosphere. That truth – that the Democratic Party promotes policies that keep poverty-stricken black communities dependent on government help – explains nearly everything that has gone wrong in cities like Detroit and Milwaukee. It’s the truth that Hillary Clinton and the rest of the liberal establishment cannot afford for black voters to see.
It’s time to lift the veil of propaganda that has kept African-Americans loyal to the Democratic Party despite decades of deteriorating conditions in America’s blackest communities. Conservative, America-first policies can end the cycle of poverty, restore civilization to our country’s inner-city war zones, and finally heal the divisiveness that has needlessly separated the races.
When and if those issues are fixed, the Democrats are done.
