Ilhan Omar: “White Privilege” Led to Flynn’s Dropped Charges
The far-left has yet to find an event or situation they can’t blame on racial oppression, and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and the rest of her Squad are experts at turning anything and everything into an outrage against people of color. So it was with little surprise that we saw Omar’s reaction to the news that the Department of Justice was dropping its trumped-up charges against former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.
“White privilege at work,” she wrote.
Okay, Ilhan. Whatever you say, ma’am. Friendly reminder: We’re still certain that your home country of Somalia would love to have you back, anytime you decide you’ve had enough of the Great Satan and its unfair treatment of brown people. We’re sure you can live out the life of your dreams in Mogadishu.
Omar screaming “white privilege” over the exoneration of Flynn is probably the stupidest take on this bit of news that we’ve seen, but it was far from the only example of liberals embarrassing themselves. The DOJ’s (correct) decision to drop the charges against Flynn should be an occasion for celebration for anyone who actually gives a damn about the rule of law, but in today’s partisan “Trump is evil” landscape, it’s just another excuse for Democrats to blather on about dictatorships and banana republics.
“This is outrageous! Flynn PLEADED GUILTY to lying to investigators. The evidence against him is overwhelming. Now, a politicized DOJ is dropping the case,” tweeted House Rep. Jerrold Nadler. “The decision to overrule the special counsel is without precedent and warrants an immediate explanation.”
Nadler was joined (of course) by his fellow impeachment warrior, Rep. Adam Schiff, in criticizing the decision.
“Flynn pled guilty to lying to the FBI about his illicit Russian contacts. His lies do not now become truths. This dismissal does not exonerate him. But it does incriminate Bill Barr. In the worst politicization of the Justice Department in its history,” Schiff wrote.
Rule of thumb: When Adam Schiff, Jerrold Nadler, and Ilhan Omar are united in criticizing your decision, you can rest assured that you made the right call.
Flynn’s prosecution was an outrage from Day One, but the true depths of this insanity was only revealed last week when the public got to see FBI notes stemming from January 2017. That was when the full measure of this plot became clear. The FBI went into their interrogation of Flynn with nothing more than a hope that they could catch him in a lie. Never mind that the subject of their interview didn’t involve criminal activity. Never mind that the law they threatened Flynn with was an obscure statute from the 1700s. No, no, they went in there anyway, because they saw a chance to flip Flynn against Trump. That was their whole game, and they executed the plan beautifully.
Well, except for the fact that Flynn, a patriot, never lowered himself to turn against the president.
Dropping the case against Flynn is one of the biggest signs yet that we once again have true justice at the highest levels of our federal government. Let’s hope it’s not the last.
