Illinois Democrats Caught Registering Non-Citizens to Vote in 2018
Once again, the thing that never ever happens has happened, and Democrats are busy assuring us that there’s nothing to see here and nothing to worry about. Hot on the heels of New York’s Greenlight law, which allows illegal aliens to obtain driver’s licenses, we receive news that the 2018 Illinois elections were compromised by illegal voting. According to Illinois State Board of Elections spokesman Matt Dietrich, 574 noncitizens were accidentally registered to vote thanks to the state’s policy of automatically putting DMV registrations into the voter pool.
“We do know,” Dietrich said, “that some of them voted in 2018.”
Illinois state officials told the media on Tuesday that there were only 16 instances of noncitizens voting in the 2018 elections, so take that for what it’s worth. We presume that this is an accurate number, seeing as how anything less than the truth will be quickly exposed. But while 16 invalid ballots may not sound like anything to worry about (and that seems to be the position the state Democrats are taking), it’s an early warning that the two-pronged mistake of registering non-citizens for driver’s licenses and automatically registering license holders to vote is a recipe for disaster.
Nonetheless, listen to this plea of buffoonery from the Democrat Secretary of State’s office: “For whatever reason that technological programming error did not properly remove the individuals. The individuals who are applying for driver’s license were inadvertently pooled into the automatic voter registration. This was an isolated case that impacted less than one-tenth of one percent of the people registered through automatic voter registration. As soon as the program error was discovered, it was fixed, and the individuals were notified, including the State Board of Elections and the local election authorities.”
Move along, please. No questions at this time, thank you.
In a response statement, Illinois Republican Chairman Tim Schneider said that while this may have been a “mistake,” the systemic problems that allowed it to happen needed to be of primary concern.
“The recent reports of non-citizens voting in Illinois is simply unacceptable. The Secretary of State’s failure to competently administer the Automatic Voter Registration (AVR) process in Illinois compromises the integrity of our entire election system,” Schneider said. “Mistakes are made, but when it comes to voting, it simply is inexcusable that non-citizens voted in Illinois and potentially affected the outcome of elections across the state. Those in the Secretary of State’s Office who allowed this to happen should be terminated from their employment with the State.”
It never fails to amaze us how the party that wants our elections to be protected according to the law is the same party that constantly gets accused of “voter suppression” and other forms of chicanery. If it WASN’T for the Republican Party, we would have Mexicans, children, and emotional support animals voting for president. And as long as they were all voting for Democrats, you wouldn’t hear a peep.
