Nancy Pelosi: Our Agenda Will Probably Have Some “Collateral Damage”
An unapologetic Nancy Pelosi, who is hoping that the midterm elections will put her back in power as the Speaker of the House, said Sunday that while the Democratic agenda was meant for the “American people,” she warned that not everyone would benefit from their policies.
At an event in New York City with Times columnist Paul Krugman, the House Minority Leader hinted that those who did not share the liberal view might get run over by the oncoming left-wing train.
“We have to have total clarity about what we do when it comes to everything – a woman’s right to choose, gay marriage, immigration, whether it’s about gun safety, whether it’s about climate,” she said, sounding exactly like a woman with great clarity. “I think that we owe the American people to be there for them, for their financial security, respecting the dignity and worth of every person in our country, and if there’s some collateral damage for some others who do not share our view, well, so be it, but it shouldn’t be our original purpose.”
It’s not entirely clear what Pelosi meant by this remark, but it reportedly came after a question about Democrats’ intended policies on climate change and the financial infrastructure. Judging by that, we can only assume that Pelosi recognizes full well that the Democratic Party platform will wreak havoc on the booming economy, send the Dow Jones plummeting, and lead to a whole lot of workers losing what they’ve gained over the past couple of years.
That’s the collateral damage. Collateral damage for small business owners who are finally able to climb out from under the wreckage of the Obama years. Collateral damage, meaning anyone involved in the fossil fuel industry, from owners to employees to shareholders to customers. They don’t care. As long as they can pump up the welfare state, make their socialist donors happy, and keep Planned Parenthood thriving, it’s all good.
Unless your idea of living life to the fullest is staying on the EBT program until the day you die, there’s really no excuse for putting these clowns back in power. They aren’t going to actually BE in power, of course, even if they take back the House. They’ll just have enough to make sure absolutely nothing gets done for the next two years. It will be their mission in Washington to gum up the works with investigation after investigation after investigation, obstruction after obstruction, and if the bottom falls out of the economy in the meantime, so much the better to run against Trump in 2020.
The collateral damage will be the United States of America.
