SECONDED: Republican Calls For Maxine Waters to Resign From Congress

Republican Congressman Andy Biggs of Arizona introduced a measure to the House floor on Monday calling for the censure of California lawmaker Maxine Waters after the unhinged, low-IQ representative encouraged Democrats to stalk and harass Trump officials wherever they turn up in public. Biggs, in his initiative, called on Waters to resign from Congress and apologize to the White House for “endangering their lives and sowing seeds of discord” with her speech to supporters this weekend. He further demanded that she release a statement disavowing her remarks and backing away from her dangerous call to action.

In the controversial remarks, Waters told supporters that “God is on our side” and that she was 100% behind businesses like the Red Hen that refused to serve administration officials. She said it was up to Democrats to make it so that no one who worked for President Trump could be seen in public without facing shame, mockery, and harassment.

“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” she said.

After her comments sparked a backlash, Waters held a news conference in which she denied having crossed the line.

“Trump is the one who is creating lies,” she said. “Trying to have people believe that I talked about harming people. There’s nowhere in my statement, anytime, anyplace that we talked about harm. I have nothing to do with the way people decide to protest. Protest is the democratic way as long as it is peaceful. I believe in peaceful protest. It is guaranteed to you in a democracy.”

Well, this is yet another example of why Trump insists that Waters is not very smart. Because when you hold an office like she does, you have a certain responsibility to be cautious with your words. That means, at minimum, you should refrain from encouraging your supporters from going out in public and harassing members of government in a way that is almost certainly going to get out of hand. Waters may not be the brightest bulb on the tree, but she’s smart enough to know that someone, somewhere is going to go beyond simply playing tapes of crying children or booing someone in a Mexican restaurant. She has a responsibility to avoid throwing gasoline on the fire.

In his motion, which has attracted support from five other lawmakers, Biggs said that Waters’ remarks could “directly and unnecessarily lead to public unrest, physical violence, and physical injury.”

This is another one of those situations where it’s so obvious what the left’s reaction would be if the shoe were on the other foot. Just imagine President Trump or Sen. Ted Cruz telling supporters to go out and hound anyone who worked for Chuck Schumer. To drive them out of restaurants and gas stations. The media would be telling us all day long that the Republicans were fomenting violence against the government. Hell, they’ve BEEN telling us that about Trump’s war with the biased media! But here? Oh, no, here, in this case, it’s fine. Because Trump is evil and everyone who works for him is evil.

History is not going to be kind to these people.
