Trump to Democrats: Stop Protecting MS-13 THUGS!
In a tweet on Saturday, President Trump turned things around on the legions of liberals who thought it was the worst sin imaginable for the president to refer to lowlife gangs as “animals” in a roundtable discussion on illegal immigration.
“Put pressure on the Democrats to end the horrible law that separates children from their parents once they cross the Border into the U.S.,” he wrote. “Catch and Release, Lottery, and Chain must go along with it and we MUST continue building the WALL!”
He then tagged his post with one final shot across the bow: “DEMOCRATS ARE PROTECTING MS-13 THUGS!”
This will be a difficult accusation for Democrats to respond to, seeing as how they just spent several days defending these animal gangstas from the horrible, terrible, no-good words of a president who doesn’t give two craps about political correctness. Never mind that they tried their best to convince the public that Trump was talking about ALL illegal immigrants when he referred to them as “animals.” Even after they were busted for that lie, you had Nancy Pelosi up there asking pious questions like, “What about the spark of divinity within everyone?”
Seriously? Can we throw that back in your face the next time you’re talking about abortion? Or does that “spark of divinity” only arise in a person after birth? Or perhaps only after they cross the border into America?
Now of course Democrats are seizing on Trump’s claim that it is “law” that children be separated from their families at the border, but while that may not technically be the case, it IS the law that the executive branch much enforce U.S. immigration policies. That doesn’t mean doing a lax job and letting every other illegal immigrant find safe haven in the sanctuary city of their choice. It means…enforcing the damn law in such a way that discourages others from making the trek north. We can hardly think of a better way to do that then to let would-be migrants know: If you cross our border, you may not get to stay with your children.
A brutal policy? Perhaps. But nothing less than our sovereignty and our continued viability as a nation is at stake here. If Democrats want Trump to enforce the law in a gentler fashion, then they need to get off their duffs and fund the wall. The president made a promise to the American people that he would stop illegal immigration, and he’s going to live up to that promise one way or the other. If Democrats don’t want him to do it using the U.S. military and family separation, then let him do it the way he wants to do it: With an enormous physical barrier that will, by itself, cut the immigration rate considerably.
Then we can have a conversation about more humane methods of arresting those illegals who do somehow make it across.
