(FixThisNation.com) – President Biden used the State of the Union address to call for unity and bipartisanship. However, during the address, there was no display of unity with House Republicans frequently shouting and heckling during the speech given by President Biden.

The State of the Union address included many moments where the President touted his victory during the address. He further urged voters to consider everything that he would achieve within the next six years if he managed to win reelection. So far, the President has not officially launched his reelection bid. Still, he continued his speech by saying that despite the divided Congress he should be able to “finish the job” he had started.

Biden then said that if it had been possible for them to collaborate during the last Congress, then there was no reason why they could not continue to collaborate during this Congress. He added that it was time to send a clear message to the American people and “find consensus on important things in this Congress.” He then proceeded by talking about his administration’s successes and efforts to improve the country’s economy. As part of his speech, he spoke about how many jobs were added in January, which helped unemployment drop by 3.4 percent. He continued by noting that the price of gas had also dropped by $1.5 a gallon since its peak price.

Regarding the economy, he also argued that the Republicans had been trying to hold it “hostage” by forcing negotiations regarding the country’s debt limit and pushing for a spending cut.
