Biden’s DOJ Henchmen Trying to Assassinate Trump’s Character

Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) wants to stop President Trump from running for the president’s office in 2024. Not surprisingly, it appointed a partisan political actor as special counsel to go after Trump.

On Friday November 18, just a few days after President Trump announced his 2024 presidential bid, Attorney General (AG) Merrick Garland appointed Jack Smith as a special counsel to oversee the federal investigations the Biden administration has cooked against Trump. Immediately after being named as the special counsel, Smith stated:

“I will exercise independent judgment and will move the investigations forward expeditiously and thoroughly to whatever outcome the facts and the law dictate.”

With its radical politicization against conservatives and loss of credibility, the claim of independent judgment coming from a Biden’s DOJ appointee sounds little more than PR platitude. President Trump immediately rejected the appointment as “the worst politicization of justice” and added that he would not cooperate with the special counsel. So who actually is Jack Smith?

Right-wing media sources pointed out that Jack Smith was involved in the infamous Lois Lerner IRS scandal of the Obama administration. Smith led the Public Integrity Section of the DOJ from 2010 until 2015. During this time, he engaged closely with the IRS that was politically targeting conservative organizations. The House Judiciary Committee, led by Republicans Jim Jordan and Darrell Issa, had Smith testify for his involvement in the IRS scandal. Jordan was cited saying about Smith:

“Jack Smith was looking for ways to prosecute the innocent Americans that Lois Lerner targeted during the IRS scandal.”

On Smith’s DOJ career under the Obama-Biden admonition, Breitbart noted that he led the prosecution of former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell – a Republican – on federal corruption charges that resulted in conviction; but upon appeal, it was unanimously overturned by the US Supreme Court. The story also pointed at the political connection of Smith’s wife Katy Chevigny to the Democrats. Chevigny produced the 2020 documentary Becoming about Michelle Obama and was a Biden donor the same year.

Many prominent conservatives have condemned the DOJ’s appointment of Jack Smith as special counsel to oversee the politically motivated investigations against Trump. Congresswoman Elise Stefanik of New York called Jack Smith “compromised” and Senator Ted Cruz called Smith’s appointment “disgraceful weaponization of the DOJ.” President Trump shared his condemnation of Smith on Truth Social and wrote:

“Jack Smith is nothing less than a hit man for Obama, his Attorney General Eric Holder, and Andrew Weissmann.”
