(FixThisNation.com) – A petition opposing Donald Trump’s third presidential campaign, created by Faithful America, has received more than 20,000 signatures online.

A progressive Christian group, Faithful America, originally founded in 2004. According to their claims, they are currently the largest Christian online community that is working towards social justice. On Saturday morning their petition against Trump’s 2024 campaign had more than 20,000 signatures.

In the petition they write that Trump announced his presidential campaign on November 15 and that his speech was filled with “fear mongering and lies,” he added that Trump was clearly still looking to use the “fascist tactics” that had led to the January 6, Capitol attack. The group also called the Capitol riot a “Christian-nationalist attack.”

They continue their petition by saying that while it remains to be seen how the 2024 election will play out, there is one thing that is certain and that is the disastrous effect that a Trump presidency would have on the United States.

The petition also states that the pro-Trump Make America Great Again (MAGA) went against core Christian teaching in the Gospel. As they note the Gospel is all about “love, equality, and dignity” all of which are values that have been rejected by the MAGA movement. They add that far-right pastors and Christian nationalists should not be the ones to speak about the Christian faith.

Finally, they say that this is an important time for Christians to show clearly that Trump does not share Christian values.
