Exploiting the true meaning of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, enacted after the Civil War to grant citizenship to descendants of slaves.

Ever hear of it? Sounds familiar … perhaps vaguely recall?  Lets’ get right to the facts … the news stories go back a few years, but the practice continues with increasing numbers because “birth tourism commodifies U.S. citizenship rather than keeping it something that is earned through the legal immigration system” to quote of an official of the Center for Immigration Studies.

Well, the story began to be reported by news organizations across the country: ABC News, Huffington Post, NY Times, LA Times, Washington Post, USA Today, etc.

Back somewhere around 2010 through 2015, it was called “birth tourism”. Birth Tourism is defined as travel to another country for the purpose of giving birth in that country. “Anchor baby” is another related term which can have negative connotations. Reasons for the practice include access to the destination country’s healthcare system, circumvention of communist China’s one-child policy and in countries that recognize jus soli (the principle in law according to which children’s citizenship is determined by the place of their birth) birthright citizenship for the child (Encarta English Dictionary) … we, the US have birthright citizenship in our constitution (Article 14). This is an interesting story of fraud and deceit with strong parallels to the illegal immigrants coming across our southern border. The children will be American citizens, entitled to birth certificates and passports, educations as citizens – and, when they turn 21, able to help their parents become legal residents of the United States … just as the poo Mexican and Central American children will. Both are taking advantage of the 14th amendment as they commit fraud and deceit, one group with wealth, while the other group with little.

The number of U.S. births to non-resident mothers rose 53 percent between 2000 and 2006, according to the most recent data from the National Center for Health Statistics. As a comparison, total births rose 5 percent in the same period.

From newspaper reports, we learn that there are luxury hotels that market birth tourism packages to expectant mothers abroad, luring more than a dozen pregnant guests and their families to the United States to give birth … “What we offer is simply a one-bedroom suite accommodation for $7,750, plus taxes, for a month, with airport transfer, baby cradle and a gift set for the mother,” the hotel spokeswoman said. The hotel estimates the total cost of the package $45,000. Most women stay for two months, and they make medical arrangements on their own. “Guests arrange and pay for these by themselves,” – hospital costs can approach $30,000. Some consider staying permanently … People who provide false information in order to gain entry to the U.S. pose a potential security vulnerability,” to quote an ICE Official.

While Mexican, Koreans and families from other countries have also engaged in so-called birth tourism, in recent years it has been most often Chinese families who have been willing to pay large sums to have their children born in the United States. The births usually occur in Southern California, where, one of the affidavits said, Chinese women delivered more than 400 American babies at just one Orange County hospital. One of the businesses said that since it began in 1999, it had served 8,000 pregnant women, 4,000 of them Chinese. The affidavits quote Chinese government sources as reporting that Chinese nationals had 10,000 babies in the United States in 2012, up from 4,200 in 2008.

For those with the means to pay, it’s a small price to give a child the full benefits of U.S. citizenship, including the ability to travel freely to and from the United States, easy access to a U.S. education and a chance to start a life here. It has involved wealthy Chinese women coming to the U.S. to have their babies, thereby ensuring U.S. Citizenship for the child along with all the benefits that citizenship carries. These women had “birth houses” to go to and much cash and loaded credit cards to support them … some actually claimed poverty to receive the pre-natal and birth care free from unsuspecting hospitals … all the while they shopped at Louis Vitton and Rolex stores!

IT IS WRONG; IT IS ILLEGAL BECAUSE IT IS FRAUD AND DECEIT REGARDLESS OF THE END OF THE FINANCIAL CONTINUUM ON MAY STAND … IT IS A VIOLATION OF THE INTENT OF OUR 14TH AMENDMENT!

QUESTIONS:

  • When will Congress have the intestinal fortitude act to change the 14th amendment – Change the word “person” to citizen … in essence at least one parent must be a legal citizen of the U.S. for child to be granted citizenship.
  • When will our duly elected Senators and Representatives fulfill their sworn oath of office: “I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States …”?
  • When will Congress have the courage and strength of character to fix our broken immigration system?
  • When will Congress’s actions and decisions benefit the citizens of the United States rather than the lobbyists and their own self-interest?

            The only recent President I even entertain myself to be more qualified than, is Jimmy Carter…yet I am smart enough, and more importantly, self-assured enough to recognize that even discounting his rise to the most prestigious position on the planet, be it his graduating near the top of his class at Annapolis, to commanding a submarine, to successful peanut farming, to building homes for the needy, he is a far more accomplished man than I am by any measure, including my own narcissistic standards.

            Not one of these ignorant imbeciles that make a pretend vocation out of running their mouths for sport could ever admit to another man being a better man, in any way, for that would open the door to the possibility that everyone is.

            I know where my mug is positioned on our societal totem pole…and I am quite satisfied.

            Oh, knowing I’m brighter than average, I know that presiding over this country would be a massive undertaking that I couldn’t possibly master. But my observation of recent presidencies has revealed that each one of them has proven totally incapable of meeting the challenge, even with the help of many other people in government.

            You need to have a vision, which means having goals & being able to identify the most important challenges & how to solve them. Great judgment is another quality that is extremely important, so that you have the best people advising you & running your agencies & courts. And that’s just the beginning.

            I certainly don’t have everything that’s necessary to run a country, but most of the people who end up running our country don’t, either. I do see a few people here & there that have most of what it takes, but they’re never given a chance even in the unlikely case they do run. It’s always those who already have strong political, military & corporate connections who prevail, regardless of what qualifications they have or don’t have, or who at least can give convincing speeches.

    The Anchor Baby problem is one of the driving forces behind Sanctuary cities; it provides benefits to the immigrants (legal and illegal) and it provides huge profits to the cities supporting sanctuary for those here illegally as well as legally. There is money in it for the city coffers.
    The cost of having a baby is huge; it is an expensive proposition and for those who have little to only very little income to none; it can be difficult financially. BUT, good old Americans care and concern has made it easier for Americans to survive the expense AND it is being used by the illegals.
    If a parent is unable to pay for child birth the federal government pays the bill; not quite that easy but the feds do pick up a large portion of it.
    The money of course goes to the hospitals and the doctors! These sanctuary cities get huge infusions of federal money as the illegals crowd into the cities, have their babies at tax payers expense and the baby’s become U.S. citizens – – and the communities harboring the illegals benefit from the 14th amendment!
    It does not stop there either – – immigrants into this country have been taking 3 out of every four jobs available in this country for several years; we know that because the Obama Labor Department pointed it out two years ago. Instead of putting Americans to work at normal wages the employers were hiring illegals or one of the ADDITIONAL 25,000 green card immigrants Obama allowed to enter the U.S. (OVER the number set and authorized by congress) and take available jobs (many of which were previously held by American workers who were laid off so the immigrants could get the work. .
    Doing this was another boom for the corporations and business’; these companies were getting tax write-offs for recruiting costs, were replacing American workers with immigrant workers at reduced wages and benefits – and the CEO’s, and Senior managers were pocketing huge annual increases in their own wealth. The communities (sanctuary cities) were benefiting as the corporations got more write-off’s for employee recruiting (regardless whether they hired anyone or not) , the illegal immigrants working there were getting IRS “Unearned income” as they were working for less wages and the American Tax payer was covering their added needs for food, housing and health care! A win – win for the sanctuary cities and the illegal immigrants. The American men and women out of work went on temporary “unemployment” and when that ran out, they became eligible for welfare. When the states money for unemployment benefits and welfare ran out they borrowed the money from the federal government (and it was charged off as another added increase to the national debt – – and out nation debt shot up. And We Borrowed More Money Form China!
    Instead of doing what the country had been doing for years and years and to give indigents medical care, – the Obama administration mandated we all but additional insurance coverage (forced us to buy what many of us did not ant, did not need and could not afford) so these unemployed and illegal workers could be covered.
    That coverage became a real benefit for the unemployed; they now had welfare coverage for home, utilities and food – and now – health care coverage. Millions soon accepted the idea they NO LONGER HAD TO WORK as the federal government was going to give them anything they needed; what might have been a temporary growth in card-board homes on creek beds and alleys became an every day sight throughout the country; and the American Tax Payers were paying the bill.
    When we hear of millions of Americans who will loose insurance coverage we need to remember that the majority of those are the men and women who decided under the Obama Agenda that it was better to turn to welfare and free medical coverage than get a job and earn their living; and the Obama Administration made it all too easy for those buying into his his (and Hillary Clinton’s) “American is just fine” mentality!
    NOW – THINK ABOUT THIS; the Tax Bill in Congress will reduce federal taxes on corporations; the sales pitch from Paul Ryan and others suggests American corporations will use the reductions to expand their business, hire more people, start new ventures, create major economic growth in our nation!
    – – -That all sounds GREAT! — BUT, look back over the past eight years and what do we see?
    The corporate leadership was profiting billions of dollars with cheap labor and reduced benefits. The corporation were benefiting from the cheap labor and IRS tax benefits; the average wage increases for corporate managers was about 30% per year while the American workers in the same time frame were not getting any wage increases and had lost parts of their benefit packages.

    Is There ANY Reason For Us To Think American Corporations Will Change Their Habits And Start Spending The Money They Have Been Passing On To Their CEO’s And Senior Managers over the past eight years? I doubt it – their incentive will follow the same pattern they have been following – UNLESS – the bill includes some mandates that will cause the corporate leaders to follow the spending and expansions Ryan suggests they will – – – BUT DON’T HOLD YOUR BREATH – – they did not do it during the Obama Administration and there is nothing to ensure they will if this tax bill passes.

    Try this for reasoning: any person who comes to the United States admits implicitly that he or she is not a citizen of the United States the same way that someone who comes to the U.S. on a diplomatic visa implicitly declares that not only are they not citizens of the United States but they are here in the service of a foreign nation. They are estopped from asserting otherwise. Any woman comes to the United States pregnant implicitly declares that the child came into being in another country and is therefore a citizen of a foreign country. This doesn’t require a ruling of the SCOTUS but a simple administrative directive from the State Department or an Executive Order of the President.

    Or any woman of child bearing years on a visa, before entering the United States, must submit to a pregnancy test before being admitted. If tested positive, they cannot be admitted into the United States. If any woman becomes pregnant in the United States while on a visa, that child assumes the rights and responsibilities in the terms of that visa, to wit: that the child is a foreign national.

    Or, under the pains of criminal fraud, a woman entering the United States on a visa must declare that she is not pregnant and that she understands that if she gives birth to a child in the United States and seeks to have her child declared a citizen that she can be charged with criminal fraud and incarcerated..

    Back somewhere around 2010 through 2015, it was called “birth tourism”. Birth Tourism is defined as travel to another country for the purpose of giving birth in that country. “Anchor baby” is another related term which can have negative connotations.
