Hillary: Trump’s Female Supporters “Disrespected Themselves”
The troll won’t go back in her hole. Still on the stump to promote her new book, “What Happened,” to anyone who feels like spending $25 to learn what they already know, Hillary Clinton told MSNBC’s Joy Reid this weekend that she was disgusted to see women supporting Donald Trump in the 2016 race. Asked by Reid to comment on women at Trump rallies wearing shirts that “used the b-word” in referring to Hillary, the former secretary of state had plenty to say.
“When I see women doing that, I think – ‘Why are they publicly disrespecting themselves?'” she replied. “Why are they opening the door to have someone say that about them in their workplace? In a community setting? Do they not see the connection there?
“And I think that’s one of the problems with sexism,” she continued. “We had such a public and still ongoing movement to expand civil rights. Again, I’m proud of the progress, but we still have a lot of problems we have to confront.”
It seems to us that these women are the perfect representation of feminism. No, not the leftist kind of feminism that usually gets all of the attention, but a truer, more egalitarian form of feminism – one where women are free to be individuals and not just “part of the team.” Not just part of some collective group that has to vote for the first female presidential candidate just because she’s a woman. Women who don’t see wearing a funny t-shirt with a gender slur as some great sin against ALL women, but rather see it for what it is – a slur again one woman, in particular. To us, that’s power and independence – the traits that feminism is supposed to celebrate.
Apparently we’re supposed to believe that Hillary Clinton has never used the B-word to describe any of those women that Bill molested over the years. Hell, we’d love to get a read out of all the names she called Sarah Palin back in 2008, for that matter.
Hillary just can’t bring herself to believe that American women did not flock to support her candidacy, especially against a misogynist brute like Trump. Because to believe that would be to believe just how awful a candidate she really was – she couldn’t even count on the Girl Power vote to put her over the top. So instead she’s come up with this fantasy of internalized sexism – the same sort of logic liberals use to explain black Republicans. If you aren’t “on the team,” you’ve clearly been brainwashed.
The fact that millions of American women did not fall for that propaganda is one of the biggest signs of success for true feminist progress, as far as we’re concerned.
