Lawyer Steals Confederate Flags From Cemetery

An Alabama attorney who removed Confederate flags from a Bullock County cemetery has inspired both support and outrage from the community over his actions. Myron Penn, a partner at Penn & Seaborn in Union Springs, says he took the flags to promote unity and inclusiveness in his hometown.

“The reason why we picked them up is because the image of the flags in our community, a lot of people feel that they’re a symbol of divisiveness and oppression of many people in our community,” Penn said. “Especially with the history that that flag and the connotation and negativism that it brings. I would think that no one in our community would have a problem with this or with my actions at all.”

About that, at least, Penn was mistaken. Confederate groups have threatened to file a lawsuit and social media has erupted with opinions on both sides of the issue. Some believe Penn was right to remove the flags, seeing them as a celebration of Alabama’s slavery past. Others believe that Confederate veterans deserve the same respect as Union soldiers and that Penn had no business sticking his nose where it didn’t belong.

“It’s about decency and respect for the dead. You don’t do stuff like that,” Rebecca Atkins told Fox News. “It’s nothing racial and it’s not about discrimination.”

Penn stands by his actions.

“I did this not just for my child,” he said, “but for all the children and all the parents who would want to do the same kind of thing to make sure that they do not grow up in a community that does not appear to be divided.”

Whether or not Penn broke the law remains a matter for local authorities to figure out, but his actions speak to the way modern Americans view the Confederacy. To be sure, there are those who fly the rebel flag, even today, in the name of white supremacy and racism. But they are in the minority and we should not allow the South, the Civil War, or the legacies of fallen soldiers to be defined by them.

Sadly, the myths surrounding the South have permeated today’s culture to such a degree that one risks appearing racist when offering a defense. That’s a shame, because we do not grow as a society when we view history through such a simple lens. The South was not “bad.” The North was not “good.” The Civil War was not a Hollywood action movie with clearly defined heroes and villains, and we do a disservice to ourselves when we let these fairy tale notions of good and evil take root.

Many Southerners, black and white, trace their ancestry back to Confederate soldiers. These proud Americans deserve to celebrate their heritage without being accused of fostering racial division. As heinous as slavery was, the things Southern states fought against – namely, the increasing power of a centralized federal government – remain relevant today. The flag they flew does not deserve to be tossed onto the trash heap of history with the Nazi Swastika.

Should those who choose to commemorate their ancestors with the Confederate Flag be cognizant of the hurt feelings that symbol generates among African-Americans? Surely. But people like Penn should be equally aware that the flag is not a symbol of support for slavery. It memorializes a dark chapter in this nation’s history; a chapter we risk repeating if we choose to forget its lessons.

So many victims of the Authority Cult !

    Larken Rose :

“When someone who has been indoctrinated into the cult of “authority” finally disentangles himself from the superstition, the first thing that happens is that he sees a drastically different reality. When he observes the effects of the “authority” superstition, which infiltrate nearly every aspect of most people’s lives, he sees things as they actually are, not as he had formerly imagined them to be. Most of the time, when he sees so-called “law enforcement” in action, he recognizes it as raw, illegitimate and immoral thuggery being used to extort and control the people in order to serve the will of politicians.
When the recovering statist watches various political rituals, whether a presidential election, a legislative debate in Congress, or a local zoning board passing some new “ordinance,” he sees it for what it is : the acting out of delusions and hallucinations by people who have been indoctrinated into a completely irrational cult. Any discussions in the media of what “public policy” should be, or which “representatives” should be elected, or what “legislation” should be enacted, appear, to one who has escaped the superstition, as useful and rational as well-dressed, attractive, respectable-looking people seriously discussing how Santa Claus should handle the next Christmas.
The un-indoctrinated individual sees every campaign speech, every political argument, every discussion in the news about anything political, every CNN broadcast of another debate on the House floor over some new piece of “legislation,” as a display of the symptoms of profound delusions due to the blind acceptance of utterly asinine, cult-like dogma. All voting, campaigning, writing to one’s “congressman,” signing petitions, suddenly appear no more rational or useful than praying to a volcano god to grant its blessings to the tribe. Just as everyone in a tribe praying to a volcano god would reinforce the idea that there is a volcano god, so begging politicians for favors reinforces the idea that there is a rightful ruling class, that their commands are “law,” and that obedience to such “laws” is a moral imperative.
The un-indoctrinated would take no more pride in shaking the “President’s” hand than he would in shaking the hand of any other psychotic, narcissistic mass murderer. The men who wear black dresses and wield wooden hammers and refer to themselves as “the court” are seen as the madmen they are. Those who wear badges and uniforms, and imagine themselves to be something other than mere human beings, are not seen by the deprogrammed as noble warriors for “law and order” but as confused souls suffering from what is little more than a mental disorder…… ”

Larken; I don’t know if, you’re talking about the flag, the racism, the confederacy, the government, the way people dres or something about Christmas. But; what you, and others,
should do is quit trying to psyco-analyse every circumstance, that comes down the pike.
What I see is, there is an attorney, in Alabama, WHO SHOULD BE ARRESTED, FOR THEFT.
He stole personal artffacts, from graves of people, who were loved and respected, by their
families. IT’S THEFT ( PLAIN & SIMPLE ). He should be charged, convicted, and sentenced.
If the judge gives him a light or suspended sentence, then, fine ( that’s a different issue ).
But; it should go on official record that, he has it in his character, to steal.

      1. Croco Dile says

It’s not about a piece of fabric.
This is about subverted minds of the people.

        1. Bob Marcum says

Yeah, croc; It’s only a piece of fabric. But; No matter, if it’s a dead rose or a
brittle, dry-rotted kid’s toy. The physical act of removing it from a grave is theft
( period ). He should be charged, convicted ( with his own admitted guilt ); then,
sentenced, for grand- theft. Stealing from a cemetary is stealing ( period ).
          HE IS A THEIF ; ( period ).

          1. Croco Dile says

But I was not talking about this act at all. Do you understand that ?

He needs to be in jail for THEFT!

  3. Blastoff says

Seems to me the lawyer took items that did not belong to him and that he had no right to. I believe that is called theft. Charge him accordingly. As a lawyer, he should know the law and be bound to obey the law.

    1. John Doe says

But remember, our laws don’t apply to liberal in their minds, just like Oslama, they’ve got a pen and a cell phone. They’re all a bunch of hypocrites !

So, I guess campfires & bonfires are out of the question. Move to South Carolina. We’re not overwhelmed by intolerant Liberal morons yet, although they are moving here in droves. True. Sad, but true.

    2. robert h siddell, jr says

Not just theft but motivated by hate of another’s views: it was a HATE CRIME and he should be so charged.

      1. 1American1st says

Would love to see that happen! More HATE CRIMES are committed by Liberals (Democrats) than Conservatives by far! Think “Knockout Games, attacks on whites after Trayvon, etc. I could post hundreds of articles where groups of blacks attack a single white or white couple

      2. Blastoff says

Not sure about other States, but here in NC, desecration of a grave is a crime. Desecration includes removing articles or monuments placed there, among other criteria. The lawyer committed a crime. He should be charged accordingly. And, he has admitted to the crime. Be hard for him to beat the charge in any court. Even the most liberal of judges would have a hard time defending him.

    3. cdansreau says

It may be that he could serve a few years. However as a criminal he should be disbarred.

      1. Jarhead says

Or join those other 4,000 lawyers at the bottom of the sea…….as part of a GOOD START.

  4. CCblogging says

    Sue Him!

  5. Trisha55 says

This lawyer, like most, is a liberal idiot. Those negative feelings and connotations he refers to equal slavery. If that is connected with any flag, it should be connected to the Union flag, also known as Old Glory. When the slaves were freed in the South, they were not freed in the North. Read the Emancipation Proclamation. Now, get your feelings off your should Mr. Lawyer and let us honor those who served for a cause in which they believed. My ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War with George Washington and in every way since, including the Civil War and if I want to put a Confederate Flag on the grave of my ancestor, it is none of your business.

    1. tom cook says

Trish, the only error in your writing is the term Civil War–look it up. A civil war is two political groups fighting for overall control; the South had no designs on the Federal Government. Southerners just wanted freedom from the tyranny of the mercantile abusive north.

      1. amazed108 says

You are correct. It was the “War of Northern Aggression”.

        1. Hoping4Change says

Sounds like two Southerners agreeing, amazed and Tom.

          1. amazed108 says

Nope, not a Southerner, just don’t buy into the history as written by the “winners” of a war that never should have happened.

          2. cal3301 says

The history was written by observers on both sides of this war, not the winners, as there was no winner in this war.

          3. hangem'high says

Isn’t it the winner’s responsibility to write the history?

    2. TexanForever29 says

Trisha55, I too have ancestors who fought in the American Revolution, Texas Revolution, the War of Northern Aggression, WWI, WWII, and the Korean War. I am proud of ALL of my kin who fought for a cause in which they believed. This idiot liberal should be charged with theft and defacement of graves. He is a typical clueless liberal who is all fine and good until he disagrees with you. He then becomes a closed minded, bigoted jerk.

      1. edward martis says

And at the rate they are going ; will take over every facet of the USA; in the very near future…..Civil War II will probably happen then, and then see if libs will die for THEIR cause—–Very doubtful——After it is all over; a good place to put them is, with all the gangstas, the northern —-Channel Islands off the coast of a Santa Barbara, CA—-An ‘Escape from New York’ movie scenario—-Sounds good to me………………

    3. edward martis says

Duly noted——-in Arlington, Mass (Lexington Concord area) —the ‘Stars and Bars’ are put on CSA graves along with British “Union Jack” flags —-and 13 star American flags——-the CSA soldiers bodies were accidently sent to Union states————-and Brit soldiers were buried in the same area—-

The Confederate flag doesn’t bother me at all. To me, it’s the symbol of a loser. As long as they leave me alone , they can fly it all they want .

    1. Laddyboy says

Douglas: Other than the word loser, they were defeated; I agree with you.

    2. ipsd48 says

Well Doug, the whole nation lost when the South went down in defeat.

    3. Francisco Machado says

What was lost was the autonomy of the states, encroachment by the federal government contrary to the Tenth Amendment. Slavery died out throughout the technologically advanced world (but still exists in Africa), displaced by machinery and portable sources of steam power just as automation is taking over today. It had been illegal in the South to import slaves for decades by the time of the Civil War. The war was whether we had independent and competitive states forming a confederation for defense and for national interests or we had the power of the federal government controlling the individual states. the original intent of the Commerce Clause was to prevent states from creating state barriers to free trade. Willard vs. Fillmore expanded the power of the federal government to control trade, not just regulate (make regular) trade, and established government control over anything that had the potential to be traded interstate, even if it never left the state in which created. States are now beginning to fight back against this, attempting a return to original intent. And the Confederate soldiers which the flag honors for their bravery were not all white. The Confederate Army had about six thousand blacks in uniform fighting for the Confederacy. Entirely a coincidence, but the Army of the North had about the same number. Just trivia, since the parties now do not resemble the parties then, but the Republicans were statist and the Democrats opposed ending slavery. Within thirty years, Populism, a socialist movement, raised its head – evolving into Progressivism, Liberalism, and now back to Progressivism. The term “Populist” is even heard at times, essentially the government doing things they deem “good for us” for “the people” – and, of course, doing these things with the peak possible inefficiency and sending “the people” the bill for it. Another movement arising out of the extremes of federal activity is competition among the states, states competing for business and for people by lowering taxes, resisting federal mandates, resisting federal controls and increasing the freedom of the state residents. The Second Civil War, as it were, a competitive war of autonomy, freedom and economic advantages rather than a confrontational armed conflict.

  7. firemanfred says

If you’re offended avert your eyes…whatever side you stand on, our US Constitution and our 1st Amendment of Free Speech gives every American the RIGHT to their opinion and to express it, even if it offends someone of different opinion. As to stealing someone else’s property, you have no right, unless your an unconstitutional government, which seems to be our current administration these days. A judge needs to have this lawyer charged, arrested, tried by jury and if convicted sent back to law school and given remedial instruction on the BASIC rights given to all of us in our US Constitution by a CREDIBLE college of learning that specializes in this type of education. Preferably, not in the Northern States…I wonder if a current American Flag was flying at the cemetery too?

    1. John Doe says

What ???? A “credible college of learning” ? You’ll be hard pressed to find one of those in the north, with liberal/progressive professors making up over 90% of the teaching staff at those locations unless it’s a Christian based one. I have a hard time understanding why so many parents pour out and waste their savings to send their children to one of these indoctrination camps.

      1. firemanfred says

I should have known that comment would illicit a response…Hillsdale College was the one I was thinking of. They specialize in the US Constitution. If I were King, I’d make sure that every political representative would have to attend their course’s on our US Constitution before they could be a representative of the people. As to the rest of the advanced education system in this country, you’re correct, it would be hard pressed, but there are some still around.

        1. Bob Marcum says

hey, fred; a bit of satire, here. If you were king, there would be no constituion.

I should have said King for the Day, I figure if Obama thinks he’s King all the time, King for a Day may result in one positive thing, or maybe King for one wish, like a Genie would give you 3 wishes…as long as it restricts a politicians power, it’s a good thing.

          2. Bob Marcum says

            RIGHT-ON, FRED ( it’s a good thing ).

Hey, John; RThe north does not hold the exclusive claim to corrupt universities, in
this country. A certified university, in this country, is no longer a credible, learning
facility. Only the advance, career training institutions ( community colleges, etc. ),
are actually training the country’s youth for their future, anymore.

        1. John Doe says

OK, I can accept that because my youngest daughter is actually learning something in our local Community College without the indoctrination process of the majority of the majors. Unfortunately, it’s only a 2 year program. In OK they’re trying to make them where they can go further up the ladder. they don’t get the excessive endowments that the likes of Harvard, Columbia, Yale and too many to name do. They’re the ones with the liberal/progessive agendas. And I’ve seen where some that come out of those don’t have the common sense that God gave a rock.

          1. Bob Marcum says

unfortunately; their trainigs, for going further up the ladr ( as-U-say), is not
the ethical way of life. Belive-it-or-not, ethics are important; and, ethics problems are with the universities, not the community colleges. The unversities have become political ( they should be bi-partisan, if any politics are mentioned,
at all. Political trainig should be reserved for political ( specialized ) colleges, only. (( the same, for law training and religions )).

          2. John Doe says

I agree again, but please tell me one thing, just how can the likes of William Ayers, Bernadine Doryn, the recent professor of socialogy at the U. of Mass be hired? She’s the one that came out and made the comment that white men are a greater threat to America that Isis make comments like this and retain their jobs? There’s simply far too many lib/prog professors in the upper educational system today. I recall in the 60’s, I had an 8th grade english teacher that based your grades on your opinion on the Vietnam war, and continuously made fun of the guys that were in ROTC.

The Remington 870P (police) rcvr is solid steel but did not pass the military’s endurance test of 3000 rounds of non stop firing…..also the 870P extractors have to be replaced at the factory when they break which is not often……the extractors can be replaced with a small screwdriver on a 590 a 1—-I carried my “M 590 A 1” allover the place—It off fell my M-1009 (military chev Blazer tailgate ) a bunch of times——VERY, VERY tough gun——American troopies love them……………….and they have a cheaper price than a 870 P which helps and again the 590a1 bll is very thick, beefy, walled—–the 870P does not have a thick bll…wall…………..

needless to say; you would not recognize Sierra Vista anymore. It is getting to be a cheap place to retire…….I have been in and out of phoenix since ’68; when the air was clean—those days are long gone. All the ranchers from douglas to the west of nogales are armed to the friggin teeth….the whole area is a war zone…thanx obama

          10. catman says

Hell guys, even up here in Marana we go armed. I don’t leave my property without being armed. I can throw a rock and hit the RR and the freeway (I-10). We see illegals walking the RR and the frontage road frequently.
(Marana is just west of Tucson along I-10).

          11. edward martis says

spent some time there at the AZ Nat. Gd. Flight Facility——-very weird stuff goes on there at night—

          12. catman says

Yeah Ed, if that was the Evergreen airport you were at, that is a walk through for illegals. I’m surprised they haven’t lit up a few of those planes stored there. If you haven’t been up in this area for awhile, you probably wouldn’t recognize it. The growth of Marana has been explosive. The wife and I have been here for 28 years and have seen growth that was never envisioned by it’s founders. That first exit as you come from Phoenix is just the first of 7 now. Our southern boundary is just south of Orange Grove Blvd. Population is hovering at 40,000.

          13. edward martis says

have not been to the marana area since 2001—–at the time the AZ N.G. had a “southwest training center” flight facility (if I remember correctly) there—-very weird looking, flat black helicopters with enough ant. ‘s sticking out of it; to look like a flying porcupine—–I have seen them taking off in the dead of night and heading south to the border———god only knows what they do on the border area——I am not a desert person otherwise I would have lived there—–just to damn hot for me—–an each to their own type of situation—–

          14. catman says

Yes Ed, that flight facility is still there and still flying choppers in and out. I expect top see many more with this “Jade Helm 15” thingy going on.
BTW, per your comment below re: retirement places. Don’t forget Sedona (if you can afford it). Show Low is a great place though and I love it up there. If I could ever get the wife to move, my favorite spot would be a little town way up in Idaho called Wallace. Went through there several times when I was driving truck. Beautiful area up high and has friendly people.

          15. edward martis says

yeah—Sedona is for millionaires; that was why I did not include it——-I was born and raised in Boston, Mass and do not miss the ice and snow one single bit—-Show-Low is a very decent too with a pop. of only 15,000 and no crime to speak of; as well as pinetop, taylor, st. john etc

          16. theseer says

Unfortunately Idaho was a recent state that was selected to receive
1,000’s of Muslim Syrian Refugees…not such a great a clean place

Too bad that he’s torn this beloved country this far apart already tho…..

          18. edward martis says

the best place to retire in AZ is Show-Low——It is the best kept secret in the south west——Summer temps are 85o or lower with below freezing and 2 ft of snow in winter; which melts fairly quikley—-high timber country…Absolutely beautiful. the whole area around show-low is great—snowflake, st. john, pinetop, hunt, vernon etc——

@edward martis – Flechette 12ga was a favorite of mine when in garrison in the ‘Nam, backed with a .45ACP and a K-Bar. As for #10 birdshot, I’d take 00 buck and save having to do the same thing to my target again later, upon release from the hospital; less pain, but much longer lasting!

          20. edward martis says

Comprendo—–I agree—Even # 10 must be very painful–(imagine 1,250 little balls of .062 caliber each—ouch !!)–if not fatal—–Anyways; (if you had any interest) flechette ammo is still available via google “exotic 12 ga ammo” …I have some; and shot it at a large barn door from about 70 ft. +++ away.; you well know this stuff is non-survive-able —-I have a homicide detective friend of mine (San Bernadino, CA PD); who basically dealt with gangstas killing each other—He was called to an apartment in which 3 gangstas opened up on each other with semi auto shotguns(sawed off blls and stocks)—at about the same time (00 Buck)—-He said the blood and guts were everywhere—–As he said–” a slaughterhouse”– He has personally killed 3 of them in the last 5 years,,,; More power to him. -# 4 buckshot (,24 cal/ 27 balls ) is a standard now in the US military along with your old favorite 00 buck—-and if I may; the Mossberg 590 A 1 ( US Service Model or Tactical Model ) is the strongest pump shotgun in the world—–It has a VERY heavy, thick walled bll——I carried one around when I was in the AZ N G (Douglas and Nogales areas)—–the frigging gun is indestructible—-I HIGHLY recommend it—-It puts the Rem. 870P (police) to shame—–mainly because the 870P has a standard bll.—–and the bll of the 590 A 1 is so thick, you could pound nails with it. The GI’s love them… I bought one for myself later on…..The thing will last forever.

          23. Drawer22 says

@edward martis – It was a Browning 5-shot semi-automatic recaptured from NVA. Being not only semi-auto, but heavy, as well, it wasn’t suited for Indian Country. For that, we had a wide variety of weaponry available.

            De Oppresso Liber

          24. edward martis says

yeah–I know how heavy they are—–I read a story; way back then about a marine sgt. that brought a store bought Browning AUTO 5 back to viet nam with him. He sawed off the bll. and stock….and used it to great effect….even though it kicked like a Missouri mule (that recoiling bll. effect etc.)………..

          25. Drawer22 says

@edward martis – Never noticed any particularly outrageous recoil from mine, and it was configured in the manner you described. Maybe they just don’t make Marine sergeants like they do the kind of people who could volunteer for my unit. 🙂

Statesboro, GA 1-912-839-4769 They make Win. M-97/Stevens 520/ Stevens 620/ Ithaca 37/ Rem. M-10 b/a……They also make the rear swivels and screws…….and a bunch of other gun related stuff including the excellent leather M-1907 sling. (dated) . Some leather slings are TOO well made and too thick and will not fit the rear swivel as I have found out; so I bought theirs, and the sling fits the rear swivel perfectly; is russert brown with brass hooks and is stamped ….M-1907 ( and looks like original issue; but is not) or just get a M-1 Garand green web sling—-All b/h adaptors come in the “white”……..The Idaho outfit will ‘blue’ the whole gun and/ or the b/h assy. as you see fit…. I did not have -97 at the time; so I had them build me one (with fluted 1942 stock) ….There are 2 styles of stocks; as you will see—Hi-comb (WW ! era) and ‘fluted’ (WW 2 era)—They mostly have “FULL” marked blls. but I sent them a “CYL” (26 in ‘brush gun’ bll) which they ‘cut-down’—-Did you ever notice the markings on the military M-97 and stock ? A decent genuine ‘ real’ military marked M-97 can go for $ 6500——Also; you can get the M-97 in ‘take-down’ or ‘solid-frame’ If you get a ‘take-down’ do not let them slice off the front of the ‘4 hole’ magazine tube; which they will do unless you tell them NOT to…..(they mostly do ‘solid frame’ guns ; so the magazine tube is different from ‘take-down’ tubes)…. if you decide to do this; do check out the differences between the T/D and S/Frame -97’s………..including the solid frame mag. tube ‘pin’ plug which is used on both -97 mag. tubes to lock the b/h adptr in place when it was slid onto the bll——-the rear of the b/h has a hole in it to accommodate the ‘pin’—– Let me know how you make out……The REM or WIN M-1917 orig. bayos are $ 250 to $450, BUT you can find excellent repros on ebay for $60 (made in India) which is what I did….good luck !!!

The extractor on the 870 ; when it breaks (not very often) has to be returned to the factory for repair; also, the 590 A 1 has a 8+1 shot cap.–Nothing to learn overall—–I carried around a 590 A1 for some months when I was in the AZ NG (Douglas/ Tombstone, AZ area) —(Ft. If he feels so compelled to impose his will on others perhaps he can buy an island and there impose all of his rules on the turtles and birds that inhabit his “kingdom”. Finally, he shows his own ignorance concerning the Confederate Battle flag: The driving issue of the war was NOT slavery but rather over whether the individual states had the right to secede from the Union. (Most southerners did NOT “own” slaves and many that did were beginning to emancipate them in 1881.)

19 Signs That American Families Are Being
Economically Destroyed (Look at # 16)

            Submitted by Tyler Durden
on 04/09/2015 Submitted by Michael Snyder via The Economic Collapse blog,

The systematic destruction of the American way of life is
happening all around us, and yet most people have no idea what is happening.
Once upon a time in America,
if you were responsible and hardworking you could get a good paying job that
could support a middle class lifestyle for an entire family even if you only
had a high school education. Things weren’t perfect, but generally almost
everyone in the entire country was able to take care of themselves without
government assistance. We worked hard, we played hard, and our seemingly
boundless prosperity was the envy of the entire planet. But over the past
several decades things have completely changed. We consumed far more
wealth than we produced, we shipped millions of good paying jobs overseas, we
piled up the biggest mountain of debt in the history of the world, and we kept
electing politicians that had absolutely no concern for the long-term future of
this nation whatsoever. So now good jobs are in very short supply, we are
drowning in an ocean of red ink, the middle class is rapidly shrinking and
dependence on the government is at an all-time high. Even as we stand at
the precipice of the next great economic crisis, we continue to make the same
mistakes. In the end, all of us are going to pay a very great price for
decades of incredibly foolish decisions. Of course a tremendous amount of
damage has already been done. The numbers that I am about to share with
you are staggering. The following are 19 signs that American families are
            being economically destroyed…(Look at #19)

            #1 The poorest 40 percent
of all Americans now spend more than 50 percent of their incomes just on food and

            #2 For those Americans that
don’t own a home, 50 percent of them spend more than a third of their incomes just on rent.

            #3 The price of school
lunches has risen to the 3 dollar mark at many public schools across the nation.

            #4 McDonald’s “Dollar Menu
& More” now includes items that cost as much as 5 dollars.

#5 The price of ground beef
            has doubled since 2009.

            #6 In 1986, child care
expenses for families with employed mothers used up 6.3 percent of all income. Today, that figure is up to 7.2 percent.

#7 Incomes fell for the bottom 80 percent of all income earners in the United States
during the 12 months leading up to June 2014.

#8 At this point, more than 50 percent of all American workers bring home less
than $30,000 a year in wages.

            #9 After adjusting for
inflation, median household income has fallen by nearly $5,000
            since 2007.

            #10 According to the New
York Times, the “typical American household” is now worth 36 percent less than it was worth a decade ago.

#11 47 percent of all Americans do not put a single penny out of
            their paychecks into savings.

#12 One survey found that 62 percent of all Americans are currently living paycheck to

            #13 According to the U.S.
Department of Education, 33 percent of all Americans with student loans are currently
behind on their student loan debt repayments.

            #14 According to one recent
report, 43 million Americans currently have unpaid medical debt on
            their credit reports.

            #15 The rate of
            homeownership in the U.S.
has been declining for seven years in a row, and it is now the lowest that it has
            been in 20 years.

            #16 For
each of the past six years, more businesses have closed in the
            United States
than have opened. Prior to 2008, this had
never happened before in all of U.S.

            #17 According to the Census
Bureau, 65 percent of all children in the United States are living in a home
that receives some form of aid from the federal government.

#18 If you have no debt at
all, and you also have 10 dollars in your wallet, that you are wealthier than 25 percent of all Americans.

            #19 On top of everything
else, the average American must work from January 1st to April 24th just to pay all federal, state
            and local taxes

obortion is quite a guy; isn’t he ??; in that one single man could cause so much destruction, all by himself with the endless help of democrats and jelly back repubs.

How can you blame that illegal. ? The house and Senate are the ones that made the laws and passed the illegal laws. All against our Constitution. People should be marching upon these traitors homes, let there families know how they have almost eliminated the Constitution. Let there families know what kind of slime buckets they really are. Obama just signs them into law, it is the House and ?Senate that are the real traitors.

and obortion has the house and senate ‘bought and paid for’ and in his pocket. The Unites States of America is SCREWED…..

The fundamental change actually started with Clinton and NAFTA and the Bailout of Mexico.

          31. pineapple says

I worked in the textile industry for forty years, and watched it being outsourced to cheap labor countries such as Mexico and China, thanks to NAFTA.

Ross Perot was right when said we would hear a loud sucking sound as jobs went to Mexico and to the Far East.

It appears that we may see the same thing again as Obama is given fast track trade authority. If Obama negotiates with China the way he did with Iran, we are in deep do do.

          32. hangem'high says

I liked Ross Perot, too bad he didn’t take himself seriously, first he was running, then he jump ship, and then the poles came out and were staggering, so he jumps back in.
But by the time he jumped back in everyone gave him up as a lost cause and abandoned his wagon! Kind of reminds me of Trump “I’m in! I’m out! Maybe? , Wait and see, stick around! I’ll announce it soon!”
Trump stay home don’t waste our time you probably have more luggage then Rosie McDonald? We can do without the theater, stick to building buildings in Scotland!

          33. hangem'high says

I worked in a couple of manufacturing plants at that time, when they past NAFTA , and the local union was pushing “Right to work” it only took them three years to close its doors and move to Mexico and China!

          34. hangem'high says

I believe China and Obama’s going to have to suck really hard, because the only thing making money in the US is banks congressmen, inside trading and drugs. Maybe we can sucker China into the stock market before it crashes?

          35. pineapple says

Don’t forget bribery. The Clintons have made a fortune by accepting bribes from any one seeking connections.

          36. hangem'high says

These are good ones, I guess they’re more ways of making money then I thought? You just need connections? Oh, I forgot one; Global warming is a good money maker, I wonder when the China reserve will put a halt to making money?

          37. pineapple says

If you don’t believe that the global warming scam is not a money maker, just ask Al Gore. Also, see the following:

            President Obama Has His

Hand in the Cookie Jar Too.

            After accepting $1.25 million
in campaign contributions, President Obama made sure to include his
“global warming” plans in his victory speech: “We want our children to live in
an America that isn’t threatened by the destructive power of a warming planet.”

You are likely familiar with the story of the
            failed Solyndra green energy initiative, which cost taxpayers $500 million;
President Obama took a lot of flak for that.

            But here’s a little-known side of the
Solyndra story I bet you haven’t heard: Obama, in essence, used taxpayer
money to finance his re-election campaign . . . by funneling it
            through Solyndra.

You see, when Solyndra fell on hard times, it
passed into the hands of two large private equity
investors . . . Goldman Sachs and George Kaiser. When $500
million in taxpayer money was given to Solyndra, both Goldman Sachs and George
Kaiser benefited. Coincidentally, both have made contributions to Obama’s
election campaigns adding up to roughly $1.25 million.

            It doesn’t stop there.

2010, another federal loan of $400 million went Abound Solar. That
resulted in a bankruptcy as well. But investors in Abound Solar seemed to
do just fine . . . investors like billionaire heiress
Patricia Stryker. Stryker has famously contributed $500,000 to the
Coalition for Progress while throwing $85,000 toward Obama’s inaugural
committee. It’s just a coincidence that the government handed a company
she invested in $400 million just before bankruptcy . . .

also A123 Systems, which paid one lobbying firm $970,000 to secure money
from the government — and received $279 million in federal assistance. The
CEO of A123 Systems went on to fund multiple Democratic senators and
            contributed to Obama’s campaign.

Solar received $646 million in government loan guarantees, and has since
contributed more than $180,000 to Democratic campaigns.

is notorious for spending tens of millions of dollars a year to “buy”
green energy credits for its wind turbines and other green technologies —
credits which helped the firm pay ZERO taxes in 2011.

There are a host of other examples of
liberals getting wealthy off “global warming” initiatives just like these.

You can see why green energy is such a
profitable business — CEOs and executives get to rake in millions of dollars,
while politicians get lucrative donations for their
campaigns . . . and scientists get all the funding they need to
keep them going . . . all on your dime.

The communists in charge are setting up for rebellion, massive ammo, prison camps WITH GUILLOTINES? Buses with shackles. Mass body coffins.

The question becomes how long until we cannot fight back? Once the guns are gone, history proves millions die. All dictatorial regimes in recorded history have committed genocide when arms were taken.

            YES, and Joe McCarthy?

          45. Terry Rushing says

I’d really hate to see something like that actually happen. Perhaps a good, old fashioned “house cleaning” of Congress, the WH and the Supreme Court is in order is what is needed. 50. setemfree says

He is an illegal alien. Not my president. Also the House and Senate could stop him but are TRAITORS. No laws could be passed without there approval. All laws had to be passed by both houses before going to the presidents desk. So don’t blame the illegal that shadows the White House steps. A march should be upon all House and Senate homes and stop there illegal making of all these illegal laws. I will repeat one more time STOP THE HOUSE AND SENATE FROM PASSING ILLEGAL LAWS. MARCH UPON THERE HOMES. Let there families know what kind of slime they are.

Lincoln and congress levied an Unconstitutional income tax to finance the CW but repealed it for being Unconstitutional immediately after. Congress under Art.1 Sect.8 was not given authority to levy an income tax–only to tax commerce and international income. When Sec. of State Hayes, under Taft petitioned the states for ratification he needed 36 but got only 20 and committed fraud by lying he had the sufficient number. The 16th Amend. is horse crap.

The notion of volunteers that were not slave owners and were probably just as poor as slaves was, People far away, who have no notion except their own of the south, should not be able to tell anyone what to do or be able to force them to act in any manner.
The surest way to get those people to do something as to tell them they
couldn’t do it and then attempt to force them.
          That may still be true.

What Country do you live in where you are POOR & work for the Government?
In the USA you can get a Federal bonus watching porn, or adding to Deaths By Delay…..

          2. Poorgovnworker says

Sorry but I only make 13.00 an hour from that they take 7% off the top for retirement. Not all government workers sit around watching porn, I sit and listen to people telling me why they should qualify for my program. Unfortunately more and more people are able to qualify due to low paying jobs and part time jobs. Don’t believe everything you read in the media, there are lots of goverment workers making very little. When the recession hit we went 3yrs without a raise and had to take forced days off without pay.

          3. Jarhead says

Hard to believe when the USPS starts new-hires at $24.00(with no training, education, skills)……..VA In AZ pays DOUBLE the standard going rate for hospital workers PLUS huge perks………. Look around and you will see your fellow FED/GOV employees committing felonies in order to keep their HIGH PAYING job, build job security, receive un-earned perks, and of course get one of those HUGE bonuses……for keeping their mouth shut about the massive, growing, disgusting corruption in most (IF NOT ALL) Federal Agencies.
Some, like the IRS, DHS, EPA & VA are so corrupt there is NO WAY TO FIX THEM and they should be defunded at once, & all assets sold.
The more the dis-honest Federal employee is the more job security they create for themselves and more benefits! And no felony worries what with a corrupt Union……..Case-in-point the AZ VA Hospital Death By Delay Program—so far over 40 confirmed disabled veterans died……no one charged for manslaughter

          4. Poorgovnworker says

I agree that there are a lot of agencies that can be done away with, but don’t think that just because you work for the government that you make a lot of money. I don’t work for the irs, va, dea, dha, or epa. I work in a small town in NC in a small office, pay for my family’s insurance, my retirement, and all the same taxes you pay. The USPS actually isn’t a goverment job, postal workers are considered a class of their own. I am paid by the county with money sent to them from the department of agriculture, that is how a lot of county and state workers are paid.

The real cause of the so called “Civil War:.

From “The South was right” by
          Kennedy and Kennedy:

          In 1828, Senator Thomas H.
          Benton declared:

          “Before the Revolution, the
South was the seat of wealth, as well as hospitality… Wealth has fled from the
South, and settled in regions north of the Potomac: and this in the face of the
fact, the South, in four staples alone, has exported produce, since the
Revolution, to the value of eight hundred millions of dollars; and the North
has exported comparatively nothing , Such an export would indicate unparalleled
wealth, but what is the fact?….Under Federal legislation, the exports of the
South have been the basis of the Federal revenue….Virginia, the two Carolinas,
and Georgia, may be said to defray three fourths, of the annual expense of
supporting the Federal Government, and of this great sum, annually furnished by
them, nothing or next to nothing is returned to them, in the shape of
government expenditures. That expenditure flows in an opposite direction—it
flows northwardly, in one uniform, uninterrupted, and perennial stream. This is
the reason why wealth disappears from the South and rises up in the North.
          Federal legislation does all this.”

The abolitionists claimed that slavery was
the cause of the loss of wealth in the South. Professor Jonothan Elliot, a
          teacher of science at Harvard
          University, discounted
this theory and stated that it was federal legislation in regard to the Tariff
          Acts that was the culprit.

A pertinent incident is reported in The Sectional
controversy, written by W.C. fowler and published in 1864. The author recounted
an incident when, fifteen or twenty years previously, he met a friend from his
college days who was at that time a prominent Northern member of Congress. The
Congressman was leaving a heated meeting regarding abolition and sectional
issues. Fowler asked the Congressman what was the real reason that Northerners
were encouraging abolitionist’s petitions. The Congressman replied, “The real
reason is that the South will not let us have a tariff, and we touch them where
          they will feel it.”

          George Lunt, author of
“Origin of the Late War”, noted.

In 1833 there was a surplus of revenue of
many millions in the public treasury which by an act of legislation
unparalleled in the history of nations was distributed among the Northern
States to be used for local public improvements.

          President James Buchanan’s
message to Congress declared, The South had not had her share of money from the
treasury and unjust discrimination had made against her…

          When the Northern president
Lincoln was asked why the North should not let the South go, his reply was,
“Let the South go? Let the South go! Where then shall we get our revenues!”

          Patrick Henry warned the
South about placing our faith in the good will of the North when he spoke out
          against the proposed Constitution.

“But I am sure that the dangers of thie
system (the Federal Constitution) are real, when those who have no similar
interest with people of this country (the South) are to legislate for us—when
our dearest rights are to be left, in the hands those, whose advantage it will
          be to infringe them.”

          It is revealing to read
Northern newspaper accounts that document the change in the mood of the North
during the first months after the South seceded. At first, there appears to be
a mood to allow the South exercise its right of self determination. Then we
begin to see predictions of loss if the North allows the ten percent tariff
established by the Southern Confederacy to remain in place and to compete with
its higher tariff. Some writers have noted that there were predictions that
grass would grow in the streets of New York,
          while the port of
          New Orleans would

          The Northern colonies, from
the earliest part of the history of the United States, had a great fear of
losing their trade in the Western territories. In 1786, John Jay of New York caused an uproar in Congress among the Southern
delegates with his attempt to give up rights to the Mississippi River to Spain
in exchange for commercial advantages in Spanish ports. (The New Nation by
Merrill – Northeastern University Press, Boston
          MA: 1981, p. 418)

          The great fear of the
commercial North was that all or a great part of the commerce west of the
Appalachian mountains would pass through the port of New Orleans and leave the
Eastern ports with very little commerce. The North made many efforts early in
American history to give control of the land and great rivers of the Mississippi Valley
          to Spain.
This, they believed, would keep American commerce in Northern ports. These
efforts are recorded in The New Nation in part by the following:

At the same time they (Northerners wanted to
control the trade of the West, and this would be denied them, they felt if the Mississippi were open to
western trade. They believed that only be closing the river could commerce be
          forced eastward across the mountains.

The political and economic implications of
agrarian expansion westward were alarming to certain mercantile interests in
the East who feared the loss of their political and economic control of an
          expanding America.

This fear of losing its commercial advantages to the
          states along the Mississippi
was a prime factor on the North’s invasion of the South. (emphases added)

          Just weeks before the firing
of the first shots of the war, The New York Times ran a story about how the
commerce of the North would be lost to New
Orleans and the rest of the South because of the low
Southern tariff. Northerners even admitted that their reasons for fighting the
South were not the result of differences in principles of constitutional law
but only because their profits might be lost if the South was successful in its
move for independence. On March 30, 1861, the New York Times made the following

The predicament in which both the Government
and the commerce of the country are placed, through the non-enforcement of our
revenue laws, is now thoroughly understood to the world over…If the
manufacturer in Manchester (England) can send goods to the Western States
through New Orleans at a less cost then through New York, he is a fool for not
availing himself of this advantage….If the importation of the country are made
through Southern ports, its exports will go through the same channel. The
produce of the West, instead of coming to our own ports by millions of tons, to
be transported abroad by the same ships through we are receiving our importations,
will seek other routes and other outlets. With the loss of our foreign trade,
what is to become of our public works, conducted at the cost of many hundred
millions of dollars, to turn into our harbor the products of the interior? They
share in the common ruin. So do our manufacturers…Once at New Orleans, goods may be distributed over
the whole country duty free. The process is perfectly simple…The commercial
bearing of the question has acted upon the North…We now see clearly whither we
are tending, and the policy we must adopt. With us it is no longer an abstract
question—one of Constitutional construction, or of the reserved or delegated
power of the State or Federal Government, but of material existence and moral
position both at home and abroad…We were
divided and confused until our pocketbooks were touched. (emphases added)

          In an earlier article, The
New York Times complained about the loss of revenue because the tariffs were no
longer being collected in the Southern states. The article bemoans the fact
that new loans were needed but could not be guaranteed because the seceded states could not be forced to collect
the “National tariff.” (The New York Times, “An Extra Session of Congress,”
          March 23, 1861, p.4)

          In an editorial, the
Manchester, New Hampshire, Union Democrat had this to say about the loss of its
commercial advantages if the North were to” let the South go.”

          The southern confederacy will
not employ our ships or buy our goods. What is our shipping without it?
          Literally nothing. The transportation of
cotton and its fabrics employs more shops than all other trade. It is very
clear that the South gains by this process, and we lose. No—we MUST NOT “LET
          THE South go.”

          (Union Democrat, “Let the
South Go!” Manchester, NH, February 19,1861, recorded in Northern Editorials on
          Secession, Howard C.Perkins, ed., 1965, pp 591-92)

          The New York Evening Post
bemoaned the loss of tax dollars if the South was a free and independent
nation. In an article titled “What shall Be Done for a Revenue? The following
          statements were made:

          That either revenue from
duties must be collected in the ports of the rebel states, or the ports must be
closed to importations from abroad,…If neither of these things are done, our
revenue laws are substantially repealed: the sources which supply our
treasury will be dried up (emphases added): we shall have no money to carry
on the government; the nation will become bankrupt before the next crop of corn
is ripe….Allow realroad iron to be entered at Savannah with the low duty of ten
per cent, which is all that the Southern Confederacy think laying on imported
goods, and not an ounce more would be imported at New York; the railways would
be supplied from the southern ports.

          From these statements and the
facts already discussed, we can see that the North’s true motive for launching
an invasion into the South was not one of high moral principles, but one of greed and fear of economic loss. Thus, Yankee
imperialism launched an aggressive campaign to deny the people of the South
their right to a government established upon the principle of the consent of
          the governed.

We hold these truths to be self-evident
that….Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed….

      8. pineapple says

A bit of history about the so called “Civil War”:

Abraham Lincoln was a racist who was also guilty of war crimes and is
responsible for the deaths of 600,000 Americans.

In 1858, during a debate with
Stephen Douglas, Abraham Lincoln said: “I am not, nor ever have been, in favor
of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and
black races, that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or
jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry
with white people….” (Google Lincoln-Douglas debates.)

        It is commonly taught that
the War Between the States was about the abolition of slavery. Actually, the
impetus for the war was due to a tariff placed on imported goods coming through
Southern sea ports by a Northern dominated Congress. This tariff was referred
to by Southerners as the Tariff of Abominations and nearly caused South Carolina to secede from the Union.
        Andrew Jackson threatened to send
federal troops to Charleston if South Carolina refused to collect the tariff and send it
        to Washington.
        (See “Kearney’s
        March” by Winston Groom.)

This tariff was used to build
roads and bridges in the northern states while the south was left to fend for

Senator William Grayson of Virginia expressed concern that the South would
eventually become the “milch cow” of the Union.

        When the southern states
        threatened secession, Lincoln
was asked why he didn’t just let the South go. He said: ”Let the South go? Let
the South go! Where then shall we get our revenues?”(See “Memoirs of Service
        Afloat” by Raphael Semmes.)

Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation excluded slave states
that remained in the Union and certain parishes in Louisiana that were under control of Union
troops. It only applied to states in the Confederacy, which was a sovereign
        nation, over which Lincoln
        had no legal authority.

        Therefore, his proclamation
        did not free slaves anywhere.

        Slaves were eventually freed
by passage of the Thirteenth Amendment on December 6th, 1865.

        Some of the many atrocities
        committed by Lincoln’s
        Union Army are as follows:

Lincoln ordered General Sherman to “make Georgia howl.” So Sherman
        marched through Georgia
burning not only towns, villages, factories and grist mills, but also burning
crops, leaving women, children, and the elderly to starve. Sherman captured more than two thousand white
women and children who were sent to the North to work at sustenance level pay,
making them virtual slaves for the Yankees. They were never returned to their

        Union Colonel
John B. Turchin was court-martialed for letting his troops “plunder and pillage
        the inhabitants” of Athens,
        Alabama, and allowing several of
his soldiers to commit rape on the person of a colored girl. After being
convicted, Turchhin was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General by Abraham
Lincoln and continued to serve in the Union Army until Oct 4, 1864.

        In Marion County
Missouri, Gen. John McNeil threw southern sympathizers in jail for expressing a
pro-Southern point of view. When a Union informer came up missing, McNeil
threatened to kill ten of these men if the informer did not show up. When the
informer didn’t show up, these men were summarily executed. Shortly afterwards,
McNeil was promoted to Brigadier General by Lincoln.

In 1862, several tribes of Native Americans
revolted against the cruel policies of the United States government. This
caused Minnesotans to fear for their safety. General John Pope rounded up 300
        warriors, out of which Lincoln
selected thirty nine to be executed. These Native Americans were executed to
assuage the fears of white Minnesotans so they would vote for the re-election
        of Lincoln,
which they did. (For details of the above and other atrocities, see, “The South
was Right” by James and Walter Kennedy.)

        By invading The Confederate
        States of America, a
        sovereign nation, Lincoln
caused the death of 600,000 Americans, not to end slavery but to hold on to

      9. Blastoff says

Correct. Also, if the institution of slavery and all things associated with it, even through ignorance of the true history of the South, must be banned, then we must ban the American flag that flew over the New England owned ships that sailed to Africa to buy slaves from Africans. And, obviously, as the Africans were complicit in selling the slaves, all things African must also be banned from public display. And all who are of African descent must be forever scorned and shunned. Never allowed to hold public office, teach in any school, be allowed to vote, etc., etc. Let us take this mans intent to its logical conclusion.

    5. JACK3889 says

The Civil War was not about slavery, that was merely an outcome after the real reason–secession from the Union. New Jersey was the last state to give up their slaves.

      1. Gary Daniel says

Officially. Texas was still using slaves up to the 1890’s. For all we know, hidden hollows in the south might still be doing so.

    6. JACK3889 says

I think the real point is that Southern States have the right to commemorate their Civil War dead in any manner they care to. Penn had no right or authority to remove anything he didn’t personally own. I suspect he may be another liberal jerk attempting to force his agenda on others.

  8. Seldena says

It is the flag of the Confederate Army. Union has their flag and the Confederacy has theirs. I think this was very disrespectful. Slaves were freed in the South, but not the North. Republicans fought for the slaves freedom–the Democrats did not. Republicans got the slaves citizenship–Democrats fought against this. This is history you never hear. I have never understood why blacks were so against the Republicans when they are the ones that freed them and gave them citizenship Democrat started KKK and had Grand Dragons as Senators. Yet, they hate Republicans. Can someone please explain this to me?

    1. John Doe says

Oh, how I’ve often wondered the same exact thing….In my humble opinion, it’s all been a re-writing of what our true history was. In today’s history books, you’ll rarely see that it was the democratic party was the very one that was for blacks having to ride in the back of the bus, drink at a black’s only water fountain. Just as the party still exists, they’ve always felt that blacks were an inferior race. Look at just how many of the liberal policies have set race relations back.

      1. Seldena says

John, I have for years asked about this and the only answer I can come up with is this: Democrats have lured the blacks into feeling victimized, owed something, and Free Stuff. Republicans have tried to help with telling them they have the same opportunities for education, gain skills, start a business, be a professional, and be just as successful as they desire to be.That is the American Dream. Democrats have actually enslaved them all over again with their false narrative and they have bought into this. Evidently, you have to want something to work for it and stand on your own two feet without the government, but it seems they do not want to take this path which is real Freedom!

        1. John Doe says

There are the ones that do get out of that mentality, George Washington Carver, Condoleezza Rice, Ben Carson, Thomas Sewell, Clarence Thomas and many more, and those are the ones the blacks call “Uncle Tom’s”, and the liberals will stop at nothing to silence them. They don’t want their slaves to learn to pull themselves out of the conditions they were born into, work hard, get an education etc. The democrats just want to keep them voting for them, keeping them in their proverbial chains.

          1. hangem'high says

Black victimology warriors will take offense at anythilng except more welfare. I’m sick of their whining. They are not Africans. If they are and don’t like it here–vamoose back to the darkest continent where the inhabitants are just like them; unable to accomplish anything positive, barely removed from their simian predecessors. I am a Southerner who has not drunk the yankee koolaid. My ancestors who fought for freedom from northern tyranny were right. Slavery is a false flag: slaves were expensive and lazy just like many blacks now and would soon have been replaced by efficient cheap machinery. Blacks are not special; they have been afforded more opportunity at white expense than any group in the world and what do they do? Riot and pillage like baboons.

  12. 1American1st says

I’ve lived in the deep South for 50+ years. People here don’t think of slavery when they see the Confederate flag. It simply stands for Dixie, the South, a laid back way of life, Southerners who drink sweet tea, eat grits, enjoy parties at the lake, pig pickins’ (whole hog BarBQues), Nascar races, etc. It’s about a culture, not a racist cult.

Only freakin’ RACISTS think of slavery when they see that flag. That would be RACIST LIBERALS who are offended by everything.

If LIBERAL DEMOCRAT RACISTS are so incensed by our Southern flag, why the Hell do they keep moving to Dixie in droves? If they are so incensed, why don’t they move to some Liberal area like California or Chicago or Detroit so they don’t have to be offended by our Southern flag and take their racist BS with them and leave us alone?

Why do they flock to Charleston, SC & other Southern towns to see all the Civil War statues & museums and enjoy our Southern cuisine, lifestyle & charm? Liberal Democrat RACISTS = hypocrites who only want to stir up trouble when there isn’t any.

They are like parasites. They pollute their own nests, they spew negativity and hate, destroy where they are and flee to places that don’t have the poison they mindlessly live and take with them where they go.

Detroit, California, ect- used to be nice and beautiful places, until they had years of Democratic control. Look at EVERY single city where they have been in control for years. All corrupt, dirty, divided, beaten up and filled with strife. Gun controlled and the highest violence and murders of all the other cities.

Every city they have controlled for years has had the people and education dumbed down so the people will passively accept what they are told rather than check into things themselves.

The spirit and hopes of people have to be broken in order for them to feel and think that the divides between their hopelessness, and the “popularity of the rich and famous”-
is a factor that means those who have those things, must in someway be smarter and better and incapable of lies and corruption. A perversion of intelligence and instinct.

A communist tactic, when people have to scrape for basics, they have little time or energy for politics and holding those corrupt accountable.

If a person isnt pushing positiveness and unity, He is an enemy of peace and prosperity for all.

It proves that BULLIES can CONTROL. Just look at what is happening in the government REGIME of today. ‘b. obama’ commented, “I will reward my friends and punish my “enemies”.” The wooses in Congress are allowing ‘b. obama’ to break MANY Constitutional laws an yet remain in the Office of the President. Shame on the Co-conspirators and minions who are allowing this to occur. This only reinforces that TERM LIMITS for ALL public SERVANTS should be applied and enforced.

Anything to take the focus off of the corruption and thievery from the American people they are perpetrating. If you are doing your homework, you see the massive manipulation and misdirections.

Time to wake up and not be a victim of misdirections. No one at these times has the right to ignore politics and it’s offshoots of misery. Those ignoring it are part of the problem now, and will be the loudest whiners of injustice when they finally wake up.

I have been wondering recently about slavery in the US history. Let’s say that the british and early US declared slavery illegal. This would mean that the slave trade was shut down very early. The slaves in africa that were sold were often conquered citizens of a black tribe by other black tribes. If they could not sell them would they eventually be killed, either as part of ceremony or just simply not being fed? At best a few of them would be sold to muslim nations. Michelle Obama would not even exist along with most of the black population in the US. Slavery was wrong but you cannot change the past. If you complain about the past you should look at other possible outcomes.

It’s the hysterical goons on the left who have little real info of history, and lots of knee-jerk emotional silliness.
Overreactions based on current agenda, incorrect information, and, using children as shields and excuses for bad behavior.
It’s common for a liberal to “show off” for his friends at the expense of another person.
The progressive movement pretends to be “progressive”. There is no help or compassion for others, it’s about hate and division prettied up and hidden behind words that paint a positive picture.

They don’t bother to investigate much past the surface. What is important is feelings, not truth.
Popularity and fitting in. If my buddy agrees with me, we must be right. And because we are right, we have the right to censor, squash and force others to bend to our views. No other states of being are allowed–unless we agree they can. We SAY we are open-minded and tolerant, and like magic, that makes it so.

They play with words, bully and slander. Like spoiled children. And count on the fact that the average person will not check facts or spend energy shedding light on their lies and incompetency.

Bullies have to be stood up to. More liberals need to be taken to court. Bad publicity and the light of day are the weakness of liars and bullies. The more they get away with, the more brazen, ignorant of others, selfish, and childish they become.

You can tell a true liberal from other people easily:
Are they pushing divide or uniting actions? Hate or brotherhood of man? Inspiration or censorship?
Are they pushing children in your face to seal the argument? Nature is more important that people?

The words are most times the right ones, but, manipulation and actions belie the words.

It’s a tactic of the left, of communism, ect., is to divide.
Without hatred, there is no left. Without division, there is too much focus on the speakers of the “message” and what they are doing behind closed doors.

We need leaders that recognize ALL people are special. All of us have positive things and gifts within us that will benefit both ourselves and society. All lives matter.
Together we are capable of amazing things and most problems can be solved.

We DON’T need persons, who can say the right things, but, don’t believe them. That believe most people are stupid are there to be taken advantage of, gotten rid of, and used for political advancement.

If they aren’t positive, they are the enemy of peace loving people. They intend on standing on top of your shoulders and benefitting at YOUR expense.

What a self important dumb ass. He should be arrested for theft. Apparently, this moron knows nothing about the civil war. He probably believes that all southerners owned slaves and that was the big reason for the war. It was about the north suppressing the south economically, etc. It was states rights. The slavery issue became “the issue” when Lincoln needed the morale high ground when the war was not going well with the north. Those confederate young men did not fight and die for the cause of slavery. It was about freedom from the oppression by the north.

It is probably an unconscious bad habit of yours as a learned communication and conversation factor to be negative. Some people complain as a communication style–NOTE, I didn’t say YOU do.

Myron Penn committed a crime of theft and as an attorney (an officer of the court) he is duty bound to uphold the laws of the land – not pick and choose which ones he likes for his own personal beliefs and feelings. Additionally, the flag also represents a freedom of expression by those who support the Confederacy and by those who defend our nation’s history, and certainly by those who can trace their ancestry to Confederate states and Soldiers. As such, Myron Penn violated the protected Constitutional Rights guaranteed by the First Amendment against all those in favor of the Confederate flag, and his statements about how some people feel about the flag do not justify his criminal actions or his violation of the civil rights of millions of Americans. Lastly, since the flag was on hollowed ground, he also desecrated the graves of American citizens who served as Soldiers of the CSA.

    1. hangem'high says

  27. TPM says

KEY PARAGRAPH IN THE ARTICLE: “Many Southerners, black and white, trace their ancestry back to Confederate soldiers. These proud Americans deserve to celebrate their heritage without being accused of fostering racial division. As heinous as slavery was, the things Southern states fought against – namely, the increasing power of a centralized federal government – remain relevant today.”

Not all southerners believed in slavery and only a very small percentage of southerners owned slaves. Many southerners supported the confederacy because they believed in state’s rights and a less intrusive federal government.

In the Civil War era, roughly 4,000 BLACK FREE MEN owned, bred, raped, and sold other black slaves. Even though it is portrayed as such today … Slavery was not a racial issue. African blacks were captured, enslaved and sold … by other African blacks. Many Irish had (also) been enslaved and worked plantations throughout the south and the Caribbean … just like African (black) slaves.
Revisionist history has been crafted to create a group of (blacks) victims. Let’s not forget that there were many Irish & Chinese slaves here, as well. Why don’t we consider them victims?

They seem to avoid the civil war in history classes and yet it was a very important part of our history. The north did a lot of horrible things to the south after the war instead of bringing us together it cause more hate. We did not help rebuild the the south after the war like we do with foreign countries now. Burn and pillage the south was open without any restraint and caused more hate and divide of America. Flags of all countries can be seen everywhere in America out of respect only. . You don’t have to like the flag but as individuals we should not deny their right their heritage. Abraham Lincoln,, in his footnotes that can be found in The Congressional Library,, said that “the slaves should be sent back to their home countries because there is too much difference in the cultures of blacks and whites and they would be hard to blend together”.

It is the past, not the present and with God’s help, not the future of this Nation.

The Confederate flag was never a symbol of hate but represented the South’s secession from the North. A object is nothing more than an object. It is people that give it a meaning. Many of those that fought for the South did not own a single slave. There were also many Black Confederate soldiers, if anybody would bother to look at the history books. They fought only for their love of the South. This was a war that put brother against brother and families against friends. No matter what you want to say this IS a part of our history. To deny it, is to deny what we have become. It was only the symbol of the South that bore no malice or hatred to anyone. Only people can cause hatred and bigotry. Of that this flag is innocent.

How many people had a problem with the Dukes of Hazard and their General Lee? That car has been duplicated quite a few times that it can be seen driving all over the US and the Dukes are still in reruns on cable channels. The show was liked so much they made a movie of it and it is even being used in a current commercial. The flag is only a symbol of the South after they declared their secession from the United States. It does not symbolize bigotry except in someone’s mind. To give the flag any more power than what it is, is like stating all people that like rainbows are gay. There is no difference. The flag is not hurting you anymore than liking a rainbow will change your orientation. Live and let live and move on with your life.

    1. Deby says

Theft is theft, he doesn’t even deny it. what would happen if someone went to a grave yard and removed a union flag or a gravestone because it was or said something offended them. they would go to jail why is this thief not in jail, what makes him so special. what if a person doesn’t like a particular state flag would they be able to go around, take them all down and haul them off with out jail time. maybe the union flag is offensive can someone go around and take all of them with out jail time. I don’t find the Union flag offensive so leave my confederate flag alone. I don’t disrespect your’s so disrespect mine

Finally I see writings from real Americans or southerners rather. It’s good to see. I went to some of those colleges. All of you are correct, it is an indoctrination. The war of secession (civil war). Was truly about the Northern oppressive mercantilists and wigs. They sit back and collect taxes and fees for product from and to the south at will, but woe unto thee who returns the favor. The south wanted nothing to do with the Northerner criminals. So they one by one seceded from the union.

The confederate flag has nothing to do with slavery! I like it more than the “Don’t Tread On Me” flag.

  50. brabbie2002 says

If this guy is so brilliant and a lawyer, then he would know that the Civil War was not just about slavery. That was the excuse the North used to tell its men what they were fighting for. It was about the South not wanting to follow the rules laid out by northern politicians who wanted not only more tax monies, but to raid the South’s natural resources for manufacturing! Also, check out the fact that Lincoln wanted to send all slaves and former slaves to Liberia in Africa. With the trouble that bunch of whiney pee pants is causing, I wish Lincoln would have lived long enough to make it come true! The Confederate flag is NOT about slavery. It is about love of one’s state and the support of one’s compatriots and ideals. And freedom from politicians!

REVOLUTION will be the SOLUTION to the tyranny of the Left!

  54. Bobbi17 says

Once again we have someone out there who thinks that what they think should over-rule what others think (a my way or the highway type of guy). What I find most offensive (besides his taking the flags down) is the fact that he is a lawyer. There is absolutely no excuse for his actions whatsoever. Disbar him.

  55. islandwoman2 says

You did not have the right to remove something that was placed in honor on a grave. Your righteousness is so misplaced. For a Southern boy you are severely lacking in knowledge of the history of the “Confederate Flag”. Shame on you, get over your liberal,
“offended”,wussified, disrespecting self, and give those families back their flags.

  56. curtmavi38 says

I am so tired of hearing how offended everyone is about something. I am offended by their offence of being offended., so let’s make a deal. Let’s all be offended by everything and then we will have no reason to be offended. meh

  57. BBLEE says

Liberals are driven by Feelings, Common sense means nothing to them, because they possess none of it.

  58. See The Light says

Free speech is only for those whose views differ from mine. this is the message the left wants us to believe. The left does not agree with anything the constitution say if it differs from their thinking. Look to the White House for an example. My Great- great grandfather and his brother we were both Confederate soldiers, both captured at different times by Union troops. Both died while prisoners. My Grandfather is buried in Indianapolis and his brother in St Louis. I take pride in them as they fought for what they believed, not for slavery or segregation for neither owned slaves but for the right to live free and as they wished. We do not live free today. We each the government tens of thousands of dollars. For what? To see the constitution raped, or maybe to watch politician get rich with their inside trading on the stock exchange. Politicians should leave office with the same amount of dollars they had when they took office. Anything left over should go toward what I supposedly owe the government.

  59. Patrick says

VIOLATED the FREE SPEECH of everyone!!!
    Never use THAT lawfirm!
They have no idea about 1. Rights 2. RESPECT 3. our heritage 4. decorum 5. manners

  60. Robert Smith says

Should put him in jail. The Confederate flag is a southern heritage not a hate flag and for someone to steel out of a cemetery is low down person I don’t care what you took. Ever heard the expression: stea; a quarter off a blind mans eye well I guess that’s just what you have done you idiot.

  61. TWORIVERS says

I f I want to fly the confederate flag that is my business and not some idiots, course now here in Oregon it is getting overloaded with Liberals, For the civil war it was the north that really started it and used
the excuse that it was slavery.

  62. richardcancemi says

Another ignorant, liberal attorney strikes again!

  63. IMSweetOlBob says

This jerk should be fined and/or jailed for theft, and further should have to replace all the flags that were stolen.
A flag to designate the grave of a man who died fighting for something he believed in is not racist.
The racists are the ones that are striving to make it so.
His stated lofty purpose is no more than pandering to a segment of society that he thinks may be able to do him some good or reward him with votes. He says “It’s for the Children”. Where have we heard THAT before ?

  64. Larry Cowden says

Prosecute the lawyer and pull his license. His rights to freedom of speech end when he tramples on others in the process. He does not represent all of his community! His actions make as much sense as those who had kin fighting for the South pulling American flags off cemetaries because of what the Union had done to them!

  65. rmwayne says

Throw that crooked lawyer under the jail. My ancestors fought for the South’s independence. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough manpower or manufacturing for the Confederacy to be successful in it’s bid to break off from a tyrannical govt. But if one of my ancestors who fought for the Confederacy were buried in that cemetery and this scumbag lawyer went and stole the flags they fought under, I’d be looking for vengeance against him.

  66. bdcorvette says

It is nice to have liberals around to think and decide for us, is it not? Also to give us money we do not need and taken from hard working citizens. I wonder what else they can do to make us totally dependent on them? They are America’s inflatable dates. Get one now!

    1. Gary Daniel says

      Inflatable sheep!

  67. chamuiel says

Leave the flags alone. They are not yours. This same lawyer who removed the Confederate flags probably also approves of his children stomping on and burning the American flag.

  68. jlp5871 says

Gee wizzzz a lawyer that thinks he know best???

  69. Stan Hoffman says

Amazing, you can burn the American flag and its free speech they say. Yet if a person wants to fly a Confederate battle flag, its not protected. The owners of these flags should press charges against this pathetic lawyer.

    1. OSAMA OBAMA says

  70. jlp5871 says

What did this coyote lawyer do when ferguson was burning [[ who set the fires? ]] or when baltimore was burning [[ who set the fires ]] Did he go and pick up the bottles of gas that was throwen .A-s ho-e

  71. myfordtruck says

If people would read the old history about the war between the states they would realize it was not about slaves but how the northern states treated the south according to them the south was not as god as they were.As far as Lincoln was concerned he did not like blacks and did not free them all,When the war started slavery was already on its way out so many had been freed and fought for the south read and check it out not in new history but the old one 60s down

  72. Jim Skiman says

The A.H. Penn should be prosecuted for theft!!! Screw him and his “protection of anti-Confederate sentiments. Bury him UNDER the jail!!!

  73. Poodleguy says

Theft is a violation of law regardless of ones political bent!

  74. Philip Beck says

Myron Penn, an Alabama black man and a democrat. He’s above the law, so take that whitey.

  75. rodrob43 says

I had several great-grandfathers that fought for the South and a couple for the North. Their Sunday church attire and formal pictures always show them wearing their war medals. This lawyer is so racist in his actions and deeds that he will probably never accept the idea that he was wrong in taking the flags. Being Politically Correct (PC) has gotten this nation in a hell of a fix: thugs can’t be called thugs, church has become an evil racist establishment, homosexuals have to be referred to as gay, calling out a bully will get you fired from your teaching job, etc. We’re constantly being bombarded with the ideas whatever we say may offend someone. If I say the sky is a beautiful blue, I may offend someone who thinks it has a tinge of orange in it. That’s BS! Put this stupid lawyer on trial and if found guilty of multiple counts of theft, disbar him and put him in jail for a few months.

  76. Miss Mellie says

Penn is probably one of those yankee-lovers in north Alabama.

  77. Jim says

    Dis-bar that POS. ASAP!!

  78. Bob Stewart says

Stupid lawyer should be charged with theft and vandalism. Remember Free Speech? But then, lots of lawyers don’t know the law so this is no surprise. By the way, was this a confederate cemetery?

  79. B. Zerker says

Mr. Penn should be arrested and prosecuted for grand theft. What’s more, if the flags he stole were as depicted above, he should also be disbarred for committing this felony and demonstrating his ignorance to us all. A premeditated criminal act (taking something that doesn’t belong to you) is a criminal act even if it might be done for an honorable reason, although I’m not saying that his misguided reasoning was honorable. In fact, if these flags that he stole are identical to the one pictured above, he is not only a thief but a dimwit. The picture depicting the Confederate flag in this article is not even the Confederate flag although it does resemble the battle flags of Northern Virginia, Mississippi and Tennessee and also the Confederate Navy Jack. We can thank Hollywood for brainwashing the ignorant masses into believing that the flag pictured above was the Confederate flag, but it was not.

  80. olwreckdiver says

I believe it was Shakespeare in one of his plays who said “The first thing we do is kill all the lawyers”

  81. lawrence1l says

I think it an equally fair question to ask if the presence of what we refer to as an ‘American’ flag over the grave of a union soldier suggests support for the outrageous war conducted by General William Tecumseh Sherman against the women and children of the Confederacy.

  82. Jack Simpson says

We are left to assume the lawyer was Black. Anyone know for sure? Why can’t southerners be proud of their history which includes the Civil War which, even though slavery was a big part of the conflict, most Confederates fought for states rights. BTW, did you know the United States was originally bound together by a Confederacy? That’s where the name Confederate States of America came from. Look it up. SSG U.S. Army and Kentucky Colonel

  83. ted j says

you spelled your name wrong… not Myron.. should read moron

  84. Mike Homes says

In todays politically correct society, how do we deal with grave robbers?
He’s stealing more than a flag.

  85. scott says

liberal scum think they are above everyone else and will tell them what they can and cant do.liberalism is a mental disease that needs to be eradicated now before its to late for america.

  86. Robbert Hoekstra Azusa says

    Believe it

or not! The American flag may be considered the symbol of Democracy, but to
many it is the cause of their misery. In the post WWII global politics, known
as the cold war, hundreds of thousands of refugees were victims of America’s
Foreign Policy. Unless Americans are willing to remove the side blinders they
will not be able to understand. Can anybody understand the at one time HO Chi
Minh was an admirer and a friend of America, and so was … Fidel Castro.

  87. Gerry L says

Penn has the same mind set as Deash. It offends me so it must be destroyed. How long until he starts toppling and breaking the headstones in that cemetery?

  88. SpiceGirl says

Democrats: Thou shalt not offend me. Only time you get real action from one is when they hope to oppress.

  89. Levon Baxley says

He is a thief and needs to be charged for it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  90. David says

The people that are against flying this flag are just looking for something to bitch about. The Stars and Bars does not stand for slavery or support of slavery. It is a symbol of pride to show pride in the south and pride in the brave men and women that fought for Constitutional Rights. We are all supposed to have the right to express ourselves. This political correctness is ruining this country. Oh by the way i was born in Iowa and live in Minnesota and have the Stars and Bars on my car.

  91. Combat Veteran Seabee says

Hey Lawyer Penn! Do you know what the confederate flag actually is? Probably not! It was a Battle flag only! People made it a sign of southern repression by the KKK, which was actually formed by the democrats! Suck on that truth for awhile!

  92. m444ss says

Well, stealing is always okay when it’s for a good cause. (And I hope no one seriously believes he should be disbarred. It’s not like he suggested people should be allowed to exercise their rights.)

  93. margova says

    Get a rope!!

  94. stonefellow says

What this lawyer did is the crime of theft. He needs to be charged and convicted. This is a felony. In most states when a lawyer is convicted of a felony, he is disbarred. He is a lawyer, and the law is the law, even for lawyers. Why is he not arrested?

  95. Pam Dunn says

Those Confederate Soldiers served Honorably and Bravely in defense of their states and the CONFEDERACY. MOST of them were not and had never been slave owners, BUT they felt RIGHTLY that a state had the right to leave a “Union” that was over powering their economic welfare and that the STATE was a stronger political entity than the Union. Lincoln WAS wrong and practiced MANY UNconstitutional Policies and practices. LOCK that dumbazz lawyer up for THEFT and Stupidity.

HMM Looked him up and he is nothing more than a low life Personal injury lawyer and BLACK too.

  96. Karen Scharps says

Another control freak personality. He decides what is good or bad? When did he become a God- except in his own mind?

  97. Whatmeworry says

All slime bucket confederate flags should be burned because of the racism they cause

    2. Whatmeworry says

  98. luvzforplay says

What gave that a$$ the right to take anything from a graveyard, didn’t he have the Balls to try stealing from other members of the familys involved !! He is damn lucky I didn’t caytch him stealing from the dead , he may well have had the opportunity to join them !!

  99. QuisPercusit says

Beat him viciously about the head and shoulders, dis bar him, tar and feather him, run him out of town on a rail then stick him in a jail cell with a bunch of great big bubbas that hate Yankees.

  100. Frankie Miles says

I would say that this is theft. If the flags did not belong to him, then it was wrong for him to steal them. He can protest in other ways. Besides that flag is a part of History and part of the lives of those who lost theirs in that war!!!

  101. Ronald Gunn says

Another trouble maker. I got a Confederate flag flying in my front yard, if you got the balls to take it down, let me now.

  102. Deborah Tucker says

How would this racist, thats right, racist. How would he feel if we took things from his families graves maybe even riot over his stupidity. Leave our heritage alone. Some blacks are constantly trying to bury slavery. Guess what? It is still happening in other countries and I see no blacks doing anything to stop it. Go fight those people and stay out of confederate graveyards.

  103. Steve Reed says

Stealing is against the law. Regardless of his motive he should be arrested then disbarred from practicing law.

    1. headonstraight says

Festooning that cemetery with those flags without the required permission is also against the law.
If they were there illegally, they deserve no more protective status than illegal signage on public roads. They are essentially a form of LITTER!

  104. rchguns says

.Removing from the bar and revoke all legal licenses and pay restitution to every family member connected to the graves were he removed the flags from. And formally apologize for his actions.

  105. Stevon f. Nutt says

Take something from the grave of one of my ancestors and you will get all of the attention you want. I will personally Bitch slap you ten times around the town square!

  106. billyjshafer says

He wanted to promote unity. Well he screwed that up good.

  107. tomw says

” Weather or not he broke the law” ? So, stealing is only against the law , if you are not a lawyer.

  108. Mark Clemens says

Taking something off, or out of someone’ s grave, is GRAVE ROBBING. I think in all 50 states it’s illegal. Even though I’m a black man, 100% against racism. I see no problem flying a confederate flag over a confederate solders grave, or a confederate cemetery. That’s what that/those solders fought for. Our children need to see what happened to the first racists.

  109. pissedoff says

I for one think this destructive person should be sued for every dime he or she own’s. Desecration of a burial site is probably one of the most demeaning and hateful things that can be done to a retired persons little piece of land, to which will be their eternal resting place and should be honored as such.

  110. markypolo says

This guy is your typical Liberal Democrat. He thinks the ONLY people with a Right to FREE speech is Himself. According the Democrats, the “Right to Free Speech” only applies to them.
The fact is, America is “divided”. It has been “divided” by the negrs in the White House and Justice Department. Just the way it is when you have a Country full of morons. Bred and educated by the Democratic Party.

    1. headonstraight says

He did not think, as the flag placers did, that it was okay to cavalierly enter public property and bedeck it with whatever symbolism one wishes and do so without permission . The Mayor was right. Doing this without the required permission is a disorderly and scofflaw thing to do. There have to be some standards for what can and can not be placed in cemeteries. It might well be that some of the descendants of those buried there would like for nothing like that rebel flag thing to be done in some effort to “honor” them. The out-of- town neo-Confederate trespassers would have no way of knowing the preferences of the families of those dead soldiers

There are a lot of persons and groups who attach themselves to that flag and who are committed racists. There is no denying that. I have lived in the South for many decades and I have seen countless examples of that.

  111. Patriot47 says

Anyone who thinks the “system” can be fixed from within under the “rules” that have been gerrymandered into place is delusional. The “system” is rigged and MUST be restored to Constitutional level. The Civil War was never about freeing blacks, but State’s Rights and made slaves of us all to the federal government. If blacks want to hate the stars and bars, it’s because of the disinformation outed by democrats.

  112. Tim says

This idiot needs to be prosecuted and also needs to lose his license to practice law. Theft by taking, destruction of property, trespassing and anything else they can charge him with. There is nothing racist or divisive about the Confederate Battle Flag and anyone who believe there is should go back and study history.

  113. chelseachablis says

It’s become apparent that a lot of people really don’t know what the ‘rebel’ flag even stands for! And it has NOTHING to do with segregation or slavery!! WOW!!

  114. adrianvance says

    Lawyers often have strange fetishes.

Google “Two Minute Conservative” for clarity.

  115. Robert says

Then he should take down the American flag, the KKK use an American flag too.

  116. Les Prangley says

Isn’t simply amazing how the same people that have “hurt feelings” about the history and background of this flag are likely unable to tell you the name of our first president, what country bombed Pearl Harbor or most any other historical fact about the good ole US of A.

  117. jtaylo says

The Confederate south wanted to keep slavery. And that meant black people were only good as slaves and nothing else. Being a slave meant you couldn’t do anything or go any place except with your masters
permission. Southern slave master weren’t trying to ready their slaves for freedom and equal rights. They just wanted them to work for free and it they didn’t they beat ’em! Or sold them off. The south grew rich off the hard work of black slaves which is the main reason southerns wanted to keep slavery.

  118. jaybird says

    File that lawsuit!

  119. Ronney says

It was probably one of Clinton’s lawyers

  120. mtj3134 says

This clown of a lawyer, needs to go overseas and to carry out his work in their cemeteries and rob the graves of German, Italian and Japanese graveyards, see how far that gets him… And he is a coward too, stealing from the dead.
A real class act of a lawyer…. LOL

  121. Texas Belle says

Who the hell does he think he is? Confederate soldiers fought just like any other soldier; because they were told to. They fought and died for a cause which existed at the time; we can’t re-write history and make them out to be scum. My grandfather was about 18 years old when he fought in a unit from Georgia and was wounded.

    1. headonstraight says

      Yep, they fought for a cause all right; the cause of S L A V E R Y!

  122. Brenda says

For a lawyer he displays the general stupidity of the learned class. The flags he stole have nothing to do with community oppressiveness or unity. That flag was the BATTLE FLAG of the Confederate States of America. It was not the flag flown on ships bring slaves to New York or other northern states for the slave markets nor any of the Islands that transported slaves. When the slave trade first occurred, British, Dutch, Spanish, and French flags flew on those ships.

  123. Tony Donaldson says

This vigilante should be fined $200.00 for each flag he removed. He didn’t pay for them. He is a thief. I don’t like white cars. But I don’t go stealing and wrecking every one I see. Maybe a few weeks in jail with about 3 years probation added would change his tune. Stealing from a cemetery does have repercussions. You can’t do stuff like this and expect to get away with it. Try that in a national cemetery where these flags honor the dead. As for his self righteous view, he can stuff that where the sun doesn’t shine.

    1. organic girl says

Community service tending Confederate graves might fit the crime.

  124. headonstraight says

The group that placed the flags did not have permission from the city to do so; thus the flags were not lawfully placed:

“Mayor orders flags to be removed

Union Springs Mayor Saint T. Thomas, Jr. made an executive order at the Union Springs City Council meeting held tonight, May 18, 2015. The Mayor said someone entered the cemetery behind the Red Door Theatre yesterday, May 17, 2015 and placed 10 Confederate Flags near Confederate Soldier’s tombs. He said they did not have permission from the city to do that.”

The group that placed the flags is named “Defenders of the Confederate Cross” and they are headquartered in Greenville

  125. organic girl says

    “Penn stands by his actions.
…to make sure that they do not grow up in a community that does not appear to be divided.”

LOL. Idiot lawyer. Can’t even keep track of his own doublespeak.

His double negatives cancel each other out. So in proper syntax, essentially he’s saying, “to make sure that they DO grow up in a community that DOES appear to be divided.” That’s the opposite of what I think he was trying to say… Typical lawyer.

  126. setemfree says

To start.. Arrest this lawyer, take his license, It was not up to him to steal the flags. This is a major crime, of not only stealing from the dead but a crime against humanity. If allowed then who is to say he will not remove the headstones of the Rebel soldiers the next time. This I find disgusting, a story of a real slime bucket.

  127. roxie says

Why don’t you people GROW UP. You really had to take flags off of graves. Making decisions for all of us now ? This is a classic case of free speech. Period.

  128. Michael Dennewitz says

Why did the moron state, “we picked them up” when he’s the only bigoted thief in the crowd? Hope they hang his sorry ass for stealing from the dead.. He’s making headlines, but I’d be willing to bet the asshole is losing clients too. The only ones that were behind his actions and actually encouraged him were other, totally ignorant blacks that have never understood the full meaning of confederacy…

  129. Marty says

Whether a law was broken? Did those flags belong to this attorney? Give me a break, this is theft in every state of the union. He should be prosecuted!

  130. Pam Dunn says

Want to REALLY KNOW why this Lawyer was pulling up the Confederate Flags?
Truth IS, MYRON PENN is a BLACK Lawyer. Any more Questions?

  131. 32eagle says

this lawyer is no military genius-and has no respect for bravery on the battlefield-how about the courtroom?why doesn’t he raise his yankee flag before losing each and every case?

  132. DivineEncounters says

Someone died and left him in charge? If I had one of those flags on a grave and he removed it I would put ten more up and stand guard.

BS I am sick of this PC and this mamby pamby America. Time to stand up, stand out, and shout down PC. I am offended by mosques in my country, I am offended by Muslims who protest and scream death to Israel and America in my country, I am offended when someone burns the flag, dishonors our Military, I am offended almost everyday by something.

  133. THOMAS says

Let see did he own the item?no
Is he an officer the court ? Supposedly
Under these two reasons he should not only be arrested ,but be disbard for life he is a criminal now so he should not be allowed to practice law in AMERICA!

  134. Doris Will says

Hi Bob, The Queen gives her permission to newly elected or re-elected Prime Ministers to form a government. She also receives boxes from both houses to review and advise. But, that aside, the more important issue is that Great Britain has had a Monarch for hundreds of years, except the Cromwell years, all of the government changes took place with a king or queen on the throne. I think the form is a Constitutional Monarchy. Also, many of the citizens wanted George Washington to be made a king, but he refused.

  135. juan says

King for a day or queen for a day? Queen fits better.

  136. fishermanswhooper says

the stars & bars flag shown was the 2nd Confederate flag adopted on May 1, 1863, when everyone knew the war was about slavery. I’d condone knocking over the flags, not stealing, its disgusting howwhite people think treasonous heritage is honorable

  137. farrightwing says

    Dittos firemanfred, John Doe,

  138. studi30 says

Being a Civil War re-enactor, I face the Confederate Battle Flag every time I go into the field and skirmish with Johnny Reb. Some of my friends are Confederate soldiers in the field during skirmishes.

  139. Michael Dennewitz says

I’d be willing to bet a whole damned bag of money that they won’t do a damned thing to this chump, ALL BECAUSE THE ASSWIPE IS BLACK.. Talk about robbing even the dead! Never thought I’d hear about it. Few cases come up, but this is one in which the words “Dumb Niggah” fit very nicely!!!

  140. Liberty says

I am open to correction on this but do hope it true: Attorneys who are sued, arrested, and/or commit and are charged for crimes are in jeopardy of losing their licenses? One can only hope.

  141. Dolores Wieland says

Just read this. What a jackturd lawyer. Disrespect for the dead

  142. RareBear5419 says

Get EVERY LAST family who lost a flag to this thief – and file every last charge available. He deserves jail time – and to be required to write a letter of apology to each and every family member who has a relative buried there. Pig.

  143. lostproton says

The attorney should be charged with theft of private property and be disbarred from the Alabama Bar Association!
