Let’s Get Extreme in 2016

To put it mildly, the New York Times has not always been America’s best source for balanced political news. That said, the paper offered some sage advice to Democrats following their bloody loss in the 2014 midterm elections:

The Obama years have in effect represented a political trade-off: Democrats largely abandoned the more centrist, line-blurring approach of Bill Clinton to motivate an ascendant bloc of liberal voters. That strategy twice secured the presidency, but in the two midterm races it meant sacrificing the culturally conservative districts and states that had ensured Democratic congressional majorities.

The NY Times, along with USA Today, Business Insider, The Washington Post, and virtually every mainstream outlet that isn’t clamoring for a feminist/socialist takeover of American politics recommended the same strategy. You’ve gone too far to the left, said the analysts, and you’ve lost the voters in the process. Time to buckle down, compromise, and put the liberal agenda on the backburner.

And it seemed, with his relentless campaigning for the 2014 spending bill, that Obama was listening. While conservatives – including this one – have lamented the amount of back-breaking compromise GOP leaders were willing to engage in to get the bill through, the president was also willing to bend a little. He got a lot of what he wanted, of course, but he has at least taken a short break from his throne to re-acquaint himself with the American system of government. It isn’t perfect, but since when is anything in Washington perfect?

The Great Uprising

Apparently even mild concessions on the president’s part were enough to inspire a liberal revolt within the Democratic ranks. After slamming Republicans for shutting down the government in October 2013, the same Democrats were calling for a standoff showdown after seeing the inside of the $1 trillion bill. Concerns over campaign finance and changes to the Dodd-Frank Act have put the liberal wing of the Democrat Party in opposition to the president for the first real time in his White House tenure.

Apparently willing to marginalize their party’s chances of 2016 success, 300 people who used to be on Obama’s campaign staff signed a letter pleading with Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren to run for president. It has not been lost on commentators how ironic it was that liberals like Warren were opposing the spending bill with every bit the ferocity as conservatives like Ted Cruz.

So, maybe that’s the answer. Let’s duke it out in 2016. Forget the Clintons and the Romneys and the Bidens and the Bushes. Let’s go to the extreme. Let’s have a real national dialogue that ends with a national vote. Do we want an ultra-liberal like Elizabeth Warren to sit in the Oval Office? Do we want a Tea Party guy like Ted Cruz at the helm? Forget about compromise and cronyism and “business as usual.” Let’s have a real referendum on the two major competing ideologies, and let’s see, once and for all, which way America really leans.

At the very least, it could be a lot of fun.

We don’t need a fake Indian!

  2. Robert Freedom says

99% of news media in this country are left wing socialist rags. The FCC should require all broadcast news to play song by Pink Floyd titled Brain damage, and on TV show clearly printed lyrics of the song.

The Lunatics are now in congress

  3. Dan says

Things WILL NOT get better until we have a complete overhaul of our current system. It IS broke, and it is going to take the majority of overall change, REAL change to get us back on track to being the strong, united country that we used to be. God help us.

    1. Larry E. Smrekar says

You don’t need an overhaul just follow the constitution and the rule of law. Expell all the Bilderberg.

      1. Rick Rogers says

Larry I understand what your saying but you have seen on here that two many people are willing to throw out the Rule of law when it does not suit them.. Article 6 of the constitution says that “This
Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in
Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the
Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the
Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or
Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.” In the Recent past you have seen Both a President and Vice President ignore that Article. Once a Treaty is Signed and Ratified it is under the Authority of the United states.. So the Two Anti TORTURE treaties we signed and Were Ratified became the Supreme Law of the Land. But how many people have you read on this site that says Oh Torture is not banned.. Heck A supreme Court justice just said it the other day but I think a any high school Freshman Article 6 and was shown the Treaties would say That in fact it is banned.

    2. hankthetank says

The system isn’t broke! it’s the people are the cause of the wrong doing ! they have lost their way! they don’t live by the golden rule!! ( do unto others, as you would have them do unto you ) .

  4. Len Tippett says

I think this would be a great idea. Let’s vote on the two extremes. I believe this will finally tell us what America is made of. I am willing to run the risk of Elizabeth Warren winning as it may wake up some of the Republican Rino’s. As it is now, the Liberals are slowly winning because of spineless Republicans. It will also eliminate all those in Congress on both sides from lying to us trying to make us believe they are what they are not. Let’s make a decision about whether we are going to continue allowing the current administration transform America into a communist nation. At least we conservatives will finally know where we stand. We can then work toward splitting America into America as it was founded, and the current communist regime. After all, the liberals can not survive without the conservatives who are paying all the bills, therefore they would ultimately fail.

    1. Larry E. Smrekar says

Why do you want some northeast communist running this COUNTRY? You’re an idiot just because you want to prove a point. Once we loose our freedoms the world is done there would be no where else to go??????????? You must live in Massachusetts where this crap already exists. THEY HAVE NO FREEDOM THERE NOW. THE IRISH AND ITALIAN MOB CONTROLS EVERYTHING. THE PEOPLE ARE AFRAID TO LEAVE THEIR HOMES FOR FEAR OF BEING MUGGED. Hell you want toss my liberties away to prove a point. I think you’re one of them or this stupidity coming out of your mouth wouldn’t happen. I lived there for 25 years. I moved 10 years ago to the New Confederacy. The Free and Soverign State of Florida I live in central redneck stand your ground Florida. No state income tax, no GUN CONTROL , which by the way was always to protect the Kennedys from another assassination) no gay marriage or separate rights voted in by the people and upheld by the state supreme court. No punks hanging around street corners the sheriffs don’t allow it. Last but not least criminals in jail loose their citizenship while serving time. When they get out of jail they need executive clemency to regain their rights again. The last Governor who gave out executive clemency was Charlie Crist. WE THE PEOPLE tell these politicians what to do, when they do it their way they get thrown out of office. Some of them actually go to jail here not just given a pass. You don’t surrender because the going gets tough. You get tougher and just may be aquire some wisdom, that’s of course if your paying attention.

      1. Rick Rogers says

Larry the “no punks hanging around street corners huh. That would seem to violate the 1st Amendment . Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

        1. Fedup says

To stand idly about; linger without any purpose.

To violate a law or ordinance that prohibits persons from remaining in a given location without a clear purpose for an extended period of time, especially when behaving in a manner indicating a possible threat to persons or property in the vicinity.

To hover over or remain near an area.

Fog loitered over the mountains. A jet loitered in the sky near the airbase.

To proceed slowly or with many stops.

          loitered all the way home.

To act slowly or with leisure; take one’s time.

          intr.v.: loitered,loitering,loiters

          1. Rick Rogers says

the right of the people peaceably to assemble,

          2. Fedup says

They are not “assembling”, they are loitering. That’s why there are no longer “punks hanging around street corners the sheriffs don’t allow it.” It is against the law to loiter.

          3. Rick Rogers says

They are standing on a public Street if thei are not harming anyone or committing a criminal act then they are within their rights.. Loitering is a made up crime to allow people to discriminate against those they do not like.

          4. Fedup says

Loitering is remaining on a piece of property without a purpose especially when behaving in a manner believed to be a possible threat to persons or property. Assembling is gathering for a common cause, such as a protest. Based on Larry’s statement and his use of the term “punks hanging around street corners”, in this particular instance, they would be loitering because they are, by definition, “believed to be a possible threat to person or property”. If they were protesting something, it would be considered assembling.

      2. Len Tippett says

You obviously missed my point. Let me tell you a story to help you understand. It is the old traditional “boil the frog to death story”. If you put a frog in a pot and gradually bring it to a boil, the frog dies. If you throw the frog in already boiling hot water, the frog jumps out and saves his life. The Republican RINO’s are just sitting in the pot of water while the Liberal Democrats gradually bring the water to a boil and kill us all. If any of these RINO’s had a spine and the American people like you get their head out of the sand and see what is destroying this country, we may be able to save this country for our grandchildren. If what you say is true where you live in Florida, it is certainly the exception and not the rule. I will no longer hold my nose and vote for a RINO. It is time to decide if we are going to fish or just cut bait. I choose to go fishing.

        1. Larry E. Smrekar says

Surrendering your freedoms is not the answer. Ben Franklin said, “Surrendering your liberties for your safety means you neither get the safety or liberty you become a slave. I don’t if you served. I did Vietnam. I didn’t kill any babies. I did my duty. Now we all know this was a false flag war. I’m not going go into it’s history. I still suffer from PTSD. To blatantly vote for a known commie and through away you liberty is totally absurd. I guess you went to some college, where you were brain wash on how bad we are. Try living during the Roman empire, when 99% percent of the people were slaves. Is this what you want!? It’s beyond me. I feel like I’m talking to someone on drugs. I don’t mean to insult you but crazy talk drives me nuts. When I think about all of us patriots who serve you know some gave some and some gave all. So if by some nightmare you elect a communist government everything we patriots have shed blood fo was totally for naught. Your frog analogy is just what it is an analogy. We are not in some Marxist liberal college some thinking deep thoughts. This is our country that you what to burn. Yes Florida is unique. Why do you think every retired vet moves here? We run this place. Our legislature and Governor are all veterans. Not candy ass liberals. Just to let you know there is an organization called “Oath Keepers.” that’s our creed. It reads like this: I do solemny sware and affirm to obey all orders from my non commission and commissioned offers. To obey all orders from our commander in chief. To defend this constitution from all foreign and domestic enemies so help me God. I/we don’t take this oath lightly. When some snotty nosed liberal decides we are better off communists they have just declared war. If necessary I will give my life for our freedom.

          1. Len Tippett says

Where do you get the idea that I am surrendering liberties? I am not a resident of California. I don’t even want to visit the state. Stop being so naïve about the Republican party. There are probably no more than a dozen Republicans in Congress that would agree with you and me. Get your head out of the sand. I am from North Carolina and served during the Vietnam war also. If you think you have so purged the candy ass liberals in Florida, I have news for you. You missed the most candy ass liberal in the country. I need only mention the name Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Enough said.

          2. Larry E. Smrekar says

I’m should probably restate this. I don’t count south Florida They are primarily liberal Jews. I don’t mean to slight Jews. After all Paul said in the Book of Romans that not all the Jews were of the seed of Abraham. Many attend the synagogue of Satan. Florida is almost like three separate states. Where I’m coming from is primarily Central and Northern Florida, which is very redneck. We have a lot of the original crackers/cattle ranchers who live here they go back to pre-civil war times. They are not racists. They are very friendly. If you are going to live here you must assimulate or move back north. There is an article on Facebook put out by the 10th Amendment foundation. They full explained how NULLIFICATION works. It’s the states defying the federal government. It’s constitutional it happens at the state level and it prohibits the feds from forcing any unconstitutional law down our throwts. For example medical marijuana. Feds say it’s illegal the states say drop dead. Results no federal enforcement. You said up north it is unconstitution to prohibit punks from hanging around street corners terrorizing the populous. Not here they are not only not allowed to hang around street corners, they also have curfews which are enforced by our sheriff. Anyone under the age of 18 at home by 9:PM. By the way the closest ACLU is in Atlanta, Ga. They were thrown out of here several years ago. You may see North Carolina change some what. With this new confederacy rising. Many of us Southern transplants are joining it’s about states rights. You gotta know the RINO’S and Obama are dereding 01/04/14. I told you the avalanche is coming just sit back and watch it. Hey I’m going to set back and have some popcorn, while I’m watching it. Good hight we will chat again bed time. 1:37 am here.

    2. Rick Rogers says

I oh I am conviced.. So when can we start breaking off the Tea Party??

  6. CaptainOfTheGuard says

As I see it, we must do away with the career politician with term limits. We must go back to the Senate being appointed by the states and we must stop assuming that supreme court justices are there for life.
All this can be accomplished by the Convention of the States.

    1. Mark Clemens says

Search up WILLIAM A. CLARK, and you will see why we have the 17th amendment………

    2. nevergiveup says

What is ‘Convention of the States’. Please explain. Thank You

    3. Larry E. Smrekar says

    4. Rick Rogers says

Captainoftheguard.. a lot of people are a little Leery of Going that route for one reason. The last Meeting of that time was the 1787.. IT was held to Amend the Articles of Confederation… What happen with that one was not an Amendment but an out right REWORKING.. The only way it would work if it was approached with a very strict set of guidelines that stated You many not change any of the Bill of rights. Because you can be sure that the Corporate interest and lobbies would be hanging around to throw there money around for their Adgenda’s. But the really bad things is how you feel the Bills of Rights should be applied might not agree with mine. My is that religion is a personal and private thing and has no business in Government. ANY RELIGION. Also that Your Rights END at the end of your nose so that nothing you do can infringe on the rights of someone else.

    5. hankthetank says

We also need to outlaw,ALL lobbyist !! all they do is bribe the people we send to DC,!!!

  7. Jude O'Connor says

Amazing how getting into Congress will make you a multi millionaire. Why is there 23,000 appointed staff members for our Congress?

    1. Joe T says

      Make the coffee….of course Jude

    2. Combatvet52 says

Beats the hell out of me, it’s all about the MONEY the thieving culprits will always be there.
Look at poor boy Barry didn’t have a pot to p–s in and now he’s like at 4 mill a year income and he doesn’t even work.

  8. Joe T says

WE (USA) categorically NEED a third political party with sincerity, integrity and conservative humanistic ideals that won’t lie/cheat/steal to the public for their own purpose and gain.

There are plenty of qualified persons with $$$$$$$$$$$$$ to do this.

Both the Republican and Democratic parties are jaded, START WITH TERM LIMITS (2),

because after 30/40 years in political office they are arrogrant and think they are GOD like.

    1. Maggiemae says

Oh my….FINALLY…..someone else mentioning the words ‘TERM LIMITS’. I have been writing, screaming, writing more and talking about term limits for the past year. The only, and I do mean ONLY, way to get rid of the rot in DC and stop this group of maniacs in Congress is to have term limits. I’ve asked many people how do we start this conversation to get a movement across all of America. No answers. Every single member of either the Senate or House of Representatives has carved out a cushy life for themselves and the hell with the people that put them in their respective offices. This last election really proved that point. So, if you have any ideas, please share. I’m willing to call, write or visit personally any group of people that can and would get that ball rolling ASAP.

      1. Larry E. Smrekar says

The real reason the PEOPLE WON THIS ELECTION wasn’t politics. I was the right hand of Almighty God taking back his country, which he created by the way. We are supposed to be promulgating his gospel. Instead the church joined the world with complete disobedience to his word. Yes there was a political earthquake now watch for the avalanche he is going to cause. Just watch him and try to believe him look what happened to Richard Nixon.

        1. Maggiemae says

Oh, without a doubt the ONLY reason we won this election is because of God’s divine intervention….into the hearts and minds of every Christian out there. I, for one, am sick and tired of my religious rights being stomped on regularly by this administration. Every American is affected. The military is feeling the wrath of this administration as well. I tried to do a petition to de-fund the ACLU that’s always ready to strike down our religious freedoms and forces Christians to tolerate the atheists.

          1. Rick Rogers says

Maggiemae? how can you de fund something that is Not Funded by the Government.. Just curious

        2. Rick Rogers says

Since when are “THE PEOPLE” 21% of Registered Voters.. Don’t be so Proud of this Congressional Terror you have constricted The ability to destroy an administration is insignificant next to the power of the Rest of the Electorate come 2016

          1. Maggiemae says

What I found out in an attempt to de-fund the ACLU is that Congress grants them the means/ability to keep all monies they earn by attacking anything they consider intrusive to the ‘rights of others’. The ACLU is responsible for the parking spaces for the handicapped, which is not a private matter, but rather a governmental action that all states have complied with….this was a great thing! There are other things they’ve accomplished that are under the governments control that help people. However, they’ve crossed over that line of ‘help’ to that of ‘if an atheist doesn’t like it we’ll get rid of it’. That’s what I found offensive in all the cases I’ve heard about or read. I don’t believe the rights of a Christian needs to be trampled because an atheist doesn’t agree. There was a cross in a small town that had been there for well over 250 years. Someone in the town didn’t like the symbol of Christianity in town and the ACLU sued the town to remove it….and they won – cross was removed. The rights of the Christians in that town meant nothing. I wish I had kept the information I printed when I was really angry with the ACLU that explained their involvement with government in a better way than I can. Their name….American Civil Liberties Union kind of explains their cause.

          2. Rick Rogers says

ok.. MaggieMae here is how I will respond. Its a little bit strange because its the Same Response that was in a movie a few years aback. The stated purpose and Mission statement of the ACLU is to defend the Bill of Rights. IF you support the Constitution then This is the organization that will stand up and say no that’s not what the Bill of Rights says. How can any political leader stand up and say they are against the ACLU when they are Defending the Bill of rights. I understand you feel strongly about your faith but sorry I had people all my life trying to Preach to me about the word of God and too many times it was not the word of god it was what they wanted it to be. My faith is private and Personal (somewhere along with the Quote from Jesus about praying in private) But you religion rights does not give you the right to deny others their Rights. I read where Oliver Wendall Holmes said something along the lines.. of “”The right to swing my fist ends where the other man’s nose begins.” or to paraphrase your rights end where mine begin. MaggieMae you are well spoken and I get the feeling your fair minded. Look at some of the cases the ACLU supported.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_court_cases_involving_the_American_Civil_Liberties_Union

          3. fearlessolotraveler says

MaggieMae and Rick Rogers: You may already know that “Defending the
Bill of Rights” is a clever, insidious “cover” and deception to protect the predetermined goal of the ACLU, supposedly founded in 1920 by a Roger Baldwin (www.ask.com: Who was Roger Baldwin?)

On March 10, 2014, I read an informative article with glaring headlines from a supposedly patriotic website exposing the “true intentions” of the ACLU.

As I read the commentary, I was only “slightly” surprised to learn the ACTUAL MOTIVE of the ACLU considering the countless news articles/items I’ve read the past fifty years where the ACLU was “publicly” and legally resisting civil liberty infractions of the American people while “privately” subverting the very foundations of our freedoms!

And the title of that glaring article? Wait for it… ACLU: COMMUNISM IS THE GOAL.

For your interest and information, go to the link below and read the article which confirmed my suspicions for decades concerning the *double-speak facade used by the ACLU to propagandize and psychologically disarm America’s “Majority!”

*Go to http://www.dictionary.com for the REVEALING definition of “double-speak.”

“The duty of a patriot is to protect his country from its GOVERNMENT!”

          4. Rick Rogers says

Wow.. Your using quotes information from Barbwire?? Really that’s like going to a tobacco website to learn about the Dangers of Smoking.

          5. fearlessolotraveler says

Rick, did you actually read the barbwire article? Please insert the link where you found the above information regarding Roger Baldwin. Thanks.

          6. Rick Rogers says

Fearlesssolotraveler Let me point out that one mans Rebel is another mans Freedom fighter. Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, John and Samuel Adams were all called Rebels at one time or another. but as to were I got the info it was number of sources…Since so many people seem to distrust Wiki I did not won’t quote them but it says the same thing. The NY tIMES Obituaries when he did was very complete.

          7. BlueridgePatriot says

            Typical smart ass liberal reply!

          8. Rick Rogers says

Thank you for admitting I am smart.. It honors me.

          9. Rick Rogers says

Ok so he wrote a book in 1927 so what.. why don’t you provide the rest of the information.. why because it invalidates your post is why. So here is the part you left out. To be fair and balanced you know

In 1927, he had visited the Soviet Union and wrote a book, Liberty Under the Soviets. Originally, at the beginning of the ACLU, he had said, “Communism, of course, is the goal.” Later, however, as more and more information came out about Joseph Stalin’s regime in the Soviet Union, Baldwin became more and more disillusioned with Soviet-style communism and called it “A NEW SLAVERY” (capitalized in the original). He condemned “the inhuman communist police state tyranny”.

In the 1940s, Baldwin led the campaign to purge the ACLU of Communist Party members.

In 1947, General Douglas MacArthur invited him to Japan to foster the growth of civil liberties in that country. In Japan, he founded the Japan Civil Liberties Union, and the Japanese government awarded him the Order of the Rising Sun. In 1948, Germany and Austria invited him for similar purposes. He was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1951

President Jimmy Carter awarded Baldwin the Medal of Freedom on 16 January 1981

          10. Bob Mc Goffin says

Rick, then why haven’t the ACLU been backing the second amendment? You know , the one right after the first amendment? It talks about the people’s right to bear arms?
The ACLU is a liberal organization bent on subverting the Constitution!

          11. h m rowland says

Twisted thinking for sure, the ACLU stands for the constitution and all people. Where did you get that crap? I know your just repeating, you should be more careful which deceptive voice to which you listen. Some right wing nut job has been bending your ears. Perhaps you could do some research.

          12. Maggiemae says

I do believe in the Constitution and our Bill of Rights. I do believe that the ACLU has done good in providing handicap parking and other things that have helped the elderly and/or handicapped. My issue is that when the rights of an atheist trumps the rights of others, that’s not treating everyone equally. When a cross has been in a community for over a hundred years, that cross was erected for a particular purpose and was an important reminder to the people that lived there and under those circumstances, I do not think anyone has the right to force the town to take it down. No one forces any atheists to go to church, stop and pray at the cross or anyting else. Everytime I read an article about the ACLU in these times, it’s to strike down any sign of Christianity. As I’ve said, no one ever forces the atheist to take part in anything religious. Why can’t they accept that there are Christians in this country and leave things that have been part of any community as it is. Are they such hate mongers that they can’t accept people that are Christians? It appears to me from the cases the ACLU has challenged people or communities on are all based on religious things. I want to see the ACLU defend other un-Constitutional issues and not focus solely on religion.

          13. hankthetank says

One was on a hill in or around Victorville,Ca, one was on a hill in San Diego ,Ca. !!

          14. Maggiemae says

Thanks for the info! I just remembered it was a small but very old town and that cross had been there for many, many years and I felt in view of that, the cross should never have been taken down.

          15. h m rowland says

The ACLU will take your case, see, they even stand up for the rights of Nazis.

          16. Maggiemae says

“THE PEOPLE WON THIS ELECTION” What did they win? Immediately a 1600 page bill no one had read, like Obamacare, was passed, further entrenching the banker/lobbyist complex. If this is the hand of the Almighty God, I am converting to atheism.

          1. Rick Rogers says

19.9 percent of the eligible voters won this election. Make no mistake about that. They should enjoy their minor victory because now we have 2 years to point the inability of the incoming congressional Leader ship to get anything done. And 2016 is a lot closer then it might seem. and its a funny thing presidential elections always seem to bring out larger turn outs then Mid Terms.. Midterms are always local. I do believe by 2016 you may see changes back to the constitution. I don’t believe Obama will be impeached. I do believe he will be restrained. We have to remember that during the revolution 33% were patriots, 33% were loyal to King George III and 33% didn’t give a damn just like today. Many would rather watch Sunday NFL and say to hell with politics. Also the holidays are here. We are the 33% who are trying to stand in the gap.

          3. BlueridgePatriot says

The problem is not between Republican and Democrats there Einstein but Liberalism vs. Conservatism of which substantially more of the populace considers themselves (conservative). And you failed to mention the independent vote which also is turning more conservative as they become less and less influenced by the corrupt media who are and have been in the tank for the even more corrupt and lawless Democrat Party.

          4. Rick Rogers says

You keep believing that Sparky….Because when you ask about the major issues on most national Polls The majority comes down on the Moderate to Liberal Side.. NOT The Tea baggers.

Esqualido dear…I fully understand your hopelessness and angry frustration! Trying to regain our beautiful country from the Washington crooks, thieves, liars and traitors is an impossible task because that kind of evil and corruption is too deeply embedded for way too long “while the Sheeple slept.” 🙁

Personally, I don’t believe America will ever UNITE again like she did during WWII. The past seventy five years of consistent (and effective!) propaganda and brain-washing with “Diversity, Political Correctness” and a myriad of other destructive negatives “legalized” by a lawless government have accomplished its goal.

So you know it won’t help if you convert to atheism (and I don’t think you would!) because the same evils will continue on this earth as long as the 1% who are “out of control” relentlessly continue their maniacal obsession to “control the rest of the world!” Humanity is the only area God CAN’T control! He gave us a “free will” to make our own life choices! When WE make wrong decisions, that’s NOT His fault but many blame Him because they are ignorant of the fact: we are not robots, but humans with freedom to choose for ourselves.

So “be of good cheer” Esqualido…our God knows everything that’s happening and He ALSO “has a Plan!” 😉

Don’t tell me that’s crule and unusual punishment, because that’s what they deserve. My daddy used a belt on me until I was 14. Guess what I wised up and the whopping stopped. Most are stolid and/or rigid in thinking patterns, and they are jaded in their philosophy of current deleterious times in the USA and the world…….to name a few:

Feb 5, 2014 – Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.) filed a bill on Tuesday that would amend the Constitution and impose term limits on members of Congress.!!!!!!!!!!!! maybe

        1. Maggiemae says

I really think there needs to be a ground swell of Congress being bombarded from all sides for setting term limits. Unless they’re forced in some way to make a change….they won’t. They’re so embedded in their political financial gains and the power they feel they have being in the position they’re in. Let’s wait and see what the response from Congressional members will be to Mulvaney’s proposal.

          1. Diana Brooks says

Maggie Mae you arent the only 1 who thinks we need term limits and I would favor taking it a step further and not allowing lifetime pensions /benefits as well! Equivalent of no more than 2 years salary as severance pay! Limiting the page limits to BILLS so they are actually read! NO PORK ADDED! Straight forward language posted online for voters to see no last minute votes to be taken on 1774 page run around Bills no one has read as the ” Cromnibus Bill ” at a staggering 1.3 trillion just did. Or the God only knows how many pages the upcoming UN TREATY bill will be that will pass unread Dec 24 this year while most reps are elsewhere . You are right it is TIME TO MAKEOver the entire government and be EXTREME!

          2. Maggiemae says

Without a blink of an eye I would also want to include the elimination of lifetime pensions and benefits – which is all at our expense. I also think that every single Bill needs to be spelled out in truthful language that everyone can read and understand and they should be posted online for all to see. Our government has run amok for years, however, these past 6 years are worse than the last 20 combined. When people keep voting for the same rot in DC and expecting a different outcome – that’s the definition of insanity. So, how can all like minded people unite to affect changes that so drastically need to be made?

        2. Rick Rogers says

Don’t for get the so Called “Contract with America” One of the Items were Term Limits.. I ask Sue Myrick in public Forums a number of times when she was planning on LIMITING HERSELF. Never did get an answer.

          1. Joe T says

Yeah….I hear you Rick…………I mean some of these people in Congress are 75 to 90 years old….not all of them, but a bunch. Hell, at those ages……..health concerns enter the ability to participate fully informed with rational thinking.
Take this health concern for example…
Alzheimer’s disease: a progressive form of prehensile dementia that is similar to senile dementia, except that it usually starts in the 40s or 50s; first symptoms are impaired memory, which is followed by impaired thought and speech and finally complete helplessness……(starts in 40’s?) Who would have guessed!
Anyway, younger and educated persons to mix it up.
PS: again as an example, Harry Reid…….always looks and acts disgruntled,
in a state of sulky dissatisfaction……and he’s worth millions!
            best regards, Joe T

Yea and so does Mitch the Turtle and he is worth just as much.

      3. eddyjames says

I’ve got a great idea. Anyone that has been in Washington for more than two terms. Drag them out back of the capital building and club them to with in an inch of their life. Then string them up from all the light poles in Washington. Start fresh with that image in the minds of new congressmen and senators. Like the Apian Way after the great slave revolt in ancient Rome. Dean leeches of Congress hanging from every pole for miles. Make all incoming members walk past them all. Tell them you could be next if you get out of line and ignore the peoples wishes.

        1. Rick Rogers says

You will get a lot out of listening to the great one….Mark Levin of the Mark Levin show. Hee has been calling for term limits as well. But that only makes them greedy sooner an faster. What we really need is for good (no lawyers) people.

        1. Maggiemae says

I REALLY love Mark Levin. The only time I hear him is when he’s on FOX and while he’s on there frequently, I wish he was on more. I have been reading about Mulvany from SC putting together a Bill limiting terms and he now has 3 co-sponsors. I read that he was looking for shorter term limits but only get the co-sponsors to agree to 12 years. I’ll take 12 years over the life time serving they now have. I’m going to write to Mulvany encouraging him to keep up this fight. With the abysmal record Congress has, wanting to get them out of office shouldn’t be a big surprise. Career politicans have to go! I wish there was a way to limit the number of attorneys that can serve in Congress at any point in time. Attorney’s, by nature, want it their way or no way and are not inclined to discuss for a reasonable solution but rather continue a fight for what ‘they’ want. That’s always been part of the problem and certainly not part of any solution.

House GOP bill pushes term limits
By Rebecca Shabad February 05, 2014, 11:55 am

Lawmakers in the House are up for election every two years, while senators’ terms run six years. The Constitution, however, does not limit the number of terms a person can serve.

“Believe me, 24 years is more than enough time to serve in Washington. (I actually pushed for much shorter terms but compromised at 12+12 in order to gain the support of additional co-sponsors),” Mulvaney said in a statement on Wednesday. “And I want to thank my friends Steve Scalise (R-La.), Reid Ribble (R-Wis.) and Steve Palazzo (R-Miss.) for their work in getting this bill together.”

The introduction of the bill comes after a series of polls have indicated Congress’s approval rating is at record lows. A Gallup poll in January found 13 percent of people approved of the job that Congress is doing. During the government shutdown in October, the approval rating stood at just 5 percent.

“Now the question becomes: How can we convince enough members of Congress that they are the problem?” Mulvaney added.

          2. hankthetank says

We have to vote the Bitches & Bastards out, then get term limits passed!!!

Its you Joe, your mind and what it gets fed. Same for me Joe, I see the epitome of evil being the Bush family. Prescott and Hitler; GHW Bush and his drug smuggling and gun running and his NWO and association with the coup in ’63 bringing dowm our government; Little W and his murder of JFK Jr. and Sen. Watch False Messiah Video https://youtu.be/BNRT0P-oZfw

Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and phenomenon, the result of a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages. How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of professional

accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world’s largest economy, direct the world’s most powerful military, execute the world’s most consequential job?

Imagine a future historian examining Obama’s pre-presidential life: ushered into and through the Ivy League, despite unremarkable grades and test scores along the way; a cushy non-job as a “community organizer;” a brief career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in fact nearly devoid of his attention, less often did he vote “present”); and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate, the entirety of which was devoted to his presidential ambitions.

He left no academic legacy in academia, authored no signature legislation as a legislator. And then there is the matter of his troubling associations: the white-hating, America-loathing preacher who for decades served as Obama’s “spiritual mentor;” a real-life, actual terrorist who served as Obama’s colleague and political sponsor. It is easy to imagine a future historian looking at it all and asking: how on Earth was such a man elected president? There is no evidence that he ever attended or worked for any university or that he ever sat for the Illinois bar. We have no documentation for any of his claims. He may well be the greatest hoax in history.

Not content to wait for history, the incomparable Norman Podhoretz addressed the question recently in the Wall Street Journal: To be sure, no white candidate who had close associations with an outspoken hater of America like Jeremiah Wright and an unrepentant terrorist like Bill Ayers, would have lasted a single day. But because Mr. Obama was black, and therefore entitled in the eyes of liberal Dom to have hung out with protesters against various American injustices, even if they were ‘a bit’ extreme, he was given a pass. Let that Sink in: Obama was given a pass – held to a lower standard because of the color of his skin.

Podhoretz continues: And in any case, what did such ancient history matter when he was also so articulate and elegant and (as he himself had said) “non-threatening,” all of which gave him a fighting chance to become the first black president and thereby to lay the curse of racism to rest? Podhoretz puts his finger, I think, on the animating pulse of the Obama phenomenon – affirmative action. Not in the legal sense, of course.

But certainly in the motivating sentiment behind all affirmative action laws and regulations, which are designed primarily to make white people, and especially white liberals, feel good about themselves. Unfortunately, minorities often suffer so that whites can pat themselves on the back.

Liberals routinely admit minorities to schools for which they are not qualified, yet take no responsibility for the inevitable poor performance and high drop-out rates which follow. Liberals don’t care if these minority students fail; liberals aren’t around to witness the emotional

devastation and deflated self-esteem resulting from the racist policy that is affirmative action. Yes, racist. Holding someone to a separate standard merely because of the color of his skin – that’s affirmative action in a nutshell, and if that isn’t racism, then nothing is.

And that is what America did to Obama.

True, Obama himself was never troubled by his lack of achievements, but why would he be? As many have noted, Obama was told he was good enough for Columbia despite undistinguished grades at Occidental; he was told he was good enough for the US Senate despite a mediocre record in Illinois ; he was told he was good enough to be president despite no record at all in the Senate. All his life, every step of the way, Obama was told he was good enough for the next step, in spite of ample evidence to the contrary.

What could this breed if not the sort of empty narcissism on display every time Obama speaks? In 2008, many who agreed that he lacked executive qualifications nonetheless raved about Obama’s oratory skills, intellect, and cool character. Those people – conservatives included – ought now to be deeply embarrassed. The man thinks and speaks in the hoariest of

clichés, and that’s when he has his Teleprompters in front of him; when the prompter is absent he can barely think or speak at all. Not one original idea has ever issued from his mouth – it’s all warmed-over Marxism of the kind that has failed over and over again for 100 years. (An example is his 2012 campaign speeches which are almost word for word his 2008 speeches) And what about his character?

Obama is constantly blaming anything and everything else for his troubles. Bush did it; it was bad luck; I inherited this mess. Remember, he wanted the job, campaigned for the task. It is embarrassing to see a president so willing to advertise his own powerless-ness, so comfortable with his own incompetence. (The other day he actually came out and said no one could have done anything to get our economy and country back on track). But really, what were we to expect?

The man has never been responsible for anything, so how do we expect him to act responsibly? In short: our resident is a small-minded man, with neither the temperament nor the intellect to handle his job. When you understand that, and only when you understand that, will the current erosion of liberty and prosperity make sense. It could not have gone otherwise with such an impostor in the Oval Office.

          6. h m rowland says

Wow, your eyes see in negatives. Mouthing those who program you is a great sadness but most certainly is now overriding our logical and clear thought about events and how they are truly happening. The mind control towers are working. Why such treasonous words toward our leader? Why do you talk down America when America is great? This is such a huge Herr Karl Rove project he is evil and very good at it. He puts it on the spoon and flings it true or not and never blinks. Well Joe t I guess you and I disagree and will have no intelligent conversation, although you are so far right and I am so far left we almost meet on the big circle….they come together at some point you know. WASHINGTON – It’s an explosive charge, one that puts the president’s motives into question.

A former CIA officer bluntly told WND, America has switched sides in the war on terror under President Obama.

Clare Lopez was willing to say what a few members of Congress have confided to WND in private, but declined to say on-the-record.

She said the global war on terror had been an effort to “stay free of Shariah,” or repressive Islamic law, until the Obama administration began siding with such jihadist groups as the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliates.

            Why the switch?

Lopez explained, when the so-called Arab Spring appeared in late 2010, “It was time to bring down the secular Muslim rulers who did not enforce Islamic law. And America helped.”

And why would Obama want to do that?

As she told WND earlier this month, Lopez believed the Muslim Brotherhood has thoroughly infiltrated the Obama administration and other branches of the federal government.

            image: http://www.wnd.com/files/2013/07/120523040531-osama-bin-laden-horizontal-gallery-150×150.jpg

            Osama bin Laden

She also came to the conclusion Obama had essentially the same goals in the Mideast as the late Osama bin Laden: “to remove American power and influence, including military forces, from Islamic lands.”

Why would Obama order the killing of bin Laden?

Because the president “couldn’t delay any longer,” once the opportunity was presented, Lopez told WND.

There were “no more excuses” available to avoid it and he “thought it might look good,” she mused.

The former CIA operative’s perspective affects her prescription for what the U.S. should do about the terror army ISIS, as she called for caution and restraint.

While there has been a sudden chorus of politicians and military experts calling for the immediate elimination of the terrorist army after it beheaded American journalist James Foley last week, Lopez believes the U.S. should have an overall strategy in place before fully re-engaging in the Mideast militarily.

Any military action would be further complicated, she told WND, if it were not clear which side the U.S. is on, either in the short term or in the overall war on terror.

Lopez’s insights are backed by an impressive array of credentials.

Published: 09/11/2012 (would someone describe the POTUS OBAMA as sane?)

A prominent member of Chicago’s homosexual community claims Barack Obama’s participation in the “gay” bar and bathhouse scene was so well known that many who were aware of his lifestyle were shocked when he ran for president and finally won the White House.

“It was preposterous to the people I knew then to think Obama was going to keep his gay life secret,” said Kevin DuJan, who was a .gossip columnist in Chicago for various blogs when Obama was living in the city as a community organizer and later a state senator.

“Nobody who knew Obama in the gay bar scene thought he could possibly be president,” said DuJan.

DuJan, founder and editor of the Hillary Clinton-supporting website HillBuzz.org, he has first-hand information from two different sources that “Obama was personally involved in the gay bar scene.”

          12. h m rowland says

So I guess you think this is a big deal ? If its true so what ? That wouldn’t make him the first gay president. If its not true, and I would sure lean in that direction, who cares, so what? Your point is?

I totally agree with you. The only problem is that you know as well as I do that congress impose term limits on themselves. Going through Constitutional process is very slow moving especially when you have to go around congress to get it done through Constitutional Convention by the states. I would love to see it done though. I am willing to sacrifice the few good ones to make sure that we dump the bad ones. I would like to see the terms split also so that they are non in “debt” to anyone and just consider what is best for America and NOT some person or company.

      1. Joe T says

Maybe it will happened…..there are other bills intended….who knows!

Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.) filed a bill on Tuesday that would amend the Constitution and impose term limits on members of Congress.February 05, 2014, 11:55 am

The measure would call for a maximum of 24 years of service for lawmakers, with 12 years each in both the House and Senate.

        1. 7papa7 says

If that passes, plus all the required states, their will be partying through out the country at least at my house. I would like to see it retroactive also. 24 more years of people like reid and pelosi, I don’t want to think about.

          1. Joe T says

12 and 12 years in House/Senate still to long….but a relief from 20, 30, 40 these people are having now

          2. 7papa7 says

I agree but a total of 24 years is still a career politicians. What it should be is one term in each house then go get a real job.

          3. Joe T says

Hopefully somehow soon, intuitive members of Congress will understand (especially now in today’s political turmoil) the dire dilemma of a person that is unsuited for a political Congressional office, because of the stringent personal responsibility it demands to form logical, unbiased decisions that must include staid integrity in the official position that affects “millions” of citizens like us.
(the current political atmosphere is an prime example for shorter term limits)

What the best thing would be, if term limits are passed, is that their would be a major change in mentality because congress would then have to live under the bills that they pass. That may then cause some sanity in the decisions that they make and the rules they pass.

Nice to see there are some liberals out there who see the presidents spending as obscene as the rest of us.
So far as who runs in 2016, it would seem the GOP is already getting ready for a move to the center with yet another Bush. I’m still thinking that one over. For now, I would be happy to see this “Convention of States” project gain a little ground. If anyone doesn’t know about it (and I’m not saying that to be high falootin), 36 States with a like mind can pretty much dictate their desires to the Federal Govt and it becomes law. There go career politicians and a lot of other things we don’t like. After that, who’s in the White House doesn’t matter as much. That is something people born in the early forties and prior understand as it was really the Presidents of the fifties and on who started expanding the power of the Federal Govt. This was made possible by a Nation tired from years of Depression and War. The Nation was ripe for the beginning of the kind of Political Power we see in today’s Washington. All that said, I don’t think the answer lies within the Washington DC Beltway. The states hold the answer and we hold our states.

I am beginning to bellieve that the dems are just now beginning to realize the end results of obama’s plans for our country and some of them are not too happy with what kind of country it will be. The problem with DC is that those in power (Reid, Pelosi) have been there way too long and it is past time for them to leave. We definitely need term limits in Congress. I am waiting to see what happens now that the Republicans have control of both the House and the Senate. Still there are too many of the GOP establishment still there and they are more dems than republicans. Hopefully there are enough conservatives to override the establishment.

I say it’s past time to clean house. And, I mean REALLY clean house! Since when does America allow a communist to run things out of OUR White House? I mean, c’mon people, wake the hell up. Name one thing Obama’s done FOR America that is good? Unless, of course, your’re a commie lover yourself. I’ve had enough, how about you?

  17. Charles Edwards says

How about repealing the 17th amendment and thus making the Senate accountable to State legislatures as originally intended! Our constitution was to be a contract between three parties – the people, the States, and the federal government. These three parties were represented by the House, Senate, and Executive branch respectively. When Senators became popularly elected, the State governments lost their representation in Washington. Imagine how quickly “unfunded mandates,” as an example would cease if Senators answered to the state legislatures!

Our system of government was, and still it, genius. It’s the corrupt people who inhabit that system that are the problem!

  18. richardcancemi says

Why is everyone afraid to call the “extreme Left” for what they are? They are America-hating ideologues who are “Progressives” aka Socialists. They are not interested in a healthy USA. They believe that the world would be a better place it there was One World Governance with Their “way” being the only way. They believe that they know what is best for us and believe that they are very virtuous in wanting to control our Lives through a powerful World Governance, Never mind what ‘we the people’ want. They know best. Everything with America has been because of the Leftists who have no use fir our Constitution which is the antithesis of Socialism or oligarchism. There can’t ever be compromise between the two. We became a great nation and people have upgraded themselves because of the freedom to pursue their dreams and when the government stayed out of their way, We must not let the USA be destroyed by the likes of Warrern, Obama or any of the RINOs. We need to pledge allegiance to the Flag and to the Constitution and mean it!

No!! We do not need a third party….can you imagine the game playing then?! NO what we need is true Ronald Reagan Conservatives who actually Stand for our Constitution and Bill of Rights and who stand down when it comes to our private rights, freedom and taxes…Kick out the UN and we need for them to adhere to our LAWS and no more games in favor of their lobbyists who grease their hands and bribe them with a good retirement income. These people are sell outs…the libs are just communists. NO what we need are just good staunchly conservative valued Republicans …..Reagan set that tome..let’s find someone to carry it out for a prosperous and safe future shall we?!!

If you don’t want government to intervene anywhere, you’re an extremist.”
