President Trump is Unleashed and Ready for a Fight
We’re not sure what happened over the last couple of weeks, but a new President Donald Trump has emerged and he is as fierce and as ready to fight as he ever was on the campaign trail. Recently, we have seen the emergence of what we would consider the TRUE TRUMP, which we have only glimpsed occasionally since he took the oath of office. This is the Trump we expected when he was voted into office last November, and the Trump that this country needs to drive us back from the cliff and into a new era of American greatness.
Our first sign was the tariffs. Say what you will about them – they’ll be great for American manufacturing, they’ll be awful for the global economy – this was a Trump Idea through and through. You would be hard pressed to find a single Republican in the Congress who is excited about taxing imports of steel and aluminum, yet Trump went right ahead and rolled out the proposal, sacrificing his chief economic advisor in the process. That was our first big sign that Trump was now comfortable in the Oval Office and prepared to trust his unerring instincts.
Since then, it’s been one thing after another. The firing of Rex Tillerson, a secretary of state who was never on the right page. The quick agreement to meet for bilateral talks with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, a move that could put Trump in the history books as a historic peacemaker. And now Trump has finally turned his full attention to Special Counsel Robert Mueller in a signal that he has just about had it with the ridiculous witch hunt that is threatening to undo the will of the American people.
Noting the abrupt change in the president’s demeanor, House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows told The New York Times: “I see it more as a function of just, ‘O.K., I’ve taken a year to understand the different dynamics within a broad array of personalities,’ and so now it’s all about putting together a team to go the distance for the next three years.”
To go that distance, Trump will – in one fashion or another – need to short circuit Mueller, who has increasingly strayed from his proper role as an investigator of the Russian election interference. In a series of tweets this weekend, the president addressed Mueller by name for the first time.
“The Mueller probe should never have been started in that there was no collusion and there was no crime,” Trump wrote. “It was based on fraudulent activities and a Fake Dossier paid for by Crooked Hillary and the DNC, and improperly used in FISA COURT for surveillance of my campaign. WITCH HUNT!”
Another: “Why does the Mueller team have 13 hardened Democrats, some big Crooked Hillary supporters, and Zero Republicans? Another Dem recently added…does anyone think this is fair? And yet, there is NO COLLUSION!”
Where the president goes from here, only he can say. But the good news is that the champion we elected in 2016 is alive, well, and raring for the fight of his life. Watch out, Democrats. Watch out, turncoat Republicans. Watch out, World. Donald Trump means business.
