Religious Persecution Rears its Ugly Head in Ft. Lauderdale

26524

If you believe in the right of every American to practice the religion of their choice, you should already know about the Liberty Institute. Founded in 1972, the organization fights against the encroachment of religious persecution wherever it may be found. Unfortunately for kids like Floridian Giovanni Rubeo, that somewhere is increasingly the American public school system.

Rubeo, a 5th grader at Park Lakes Elementary in Ft. Lauderdale, had received a Bible as a Christmas gift in December. As his class allowed students to bring reading material of their own choosing, he opted to bring his treasured Bible. Sadly mistaken about the rules governing the separation of church and state, his teacher Swornia Thomas told him on April 8th that he was to put the Bible away. Telling Rubeo that religious books like the Bible were not allowed in her classroom, she instructed him not to bring the book to school in the future. To his credit, Giovanni did not take this infringement on his rights lying down.

Asked by her student to contact his father, Thomas left a voicemail for Paul Rubeo detailing her reasons for denying Giovanni access to his Bible. Not willing to settle for this answer, the senior Rubeo went to the school’s principal. He succeeded in getting the school’s legal team involved, but was unable to get the ruling overturned. Not about to give up without a fight, he went to the Liberty Institute. Now it’s likely spiraled beyond what Swornia Thomas and the Broward County School District really intended, but that’s exactly what happens when you step carelessly on the very rights that this country was founded upon.

It’s important to understand what this is not. It is not about forced prayer in schools. It’s not about compelling others to read the Bible in a public school classroom. It’s not even about “In God We Trust.” In all the above situations, atheists and their cohorts have their legs to stand on. Are those legs compatible with what the founding fathers wanted for America? Maybe, maybe not. But this case isn’t about any of those things. The case of Giovanni Rubeo is about the right of an American school student to spend his free time reading a religious book. That’s all it’s about. The argument against this is…what, exactly?

In a letter dated from 1792, George Washington wrote, “Of all the animosities which have existed among mankind, those which are caused by a difference of sentiments in religion appear to be the most inveterate and distressing, and ought to be deprecated.” We see the truth of these words time and again on both sides of the aisle. They are no less relevant today than they were 200 years ago. When the government – in any of its branches, from the greatest to the least – enforces preferences of one religion over another (or no religion over some), it perverts the very spirit with which this country was created. Regardless of your personal religious views, you will probably agree that the practice of that religion should not be limited by overzealous teachers.

It remains to be seen whether Rubeo and the Liberty Institute will get satisfaction from the Broward County School Board without a legal battle, but Lean Right America stands with them in their pursuit of justice.

When I was in public school we would say the lords prayer, It took me many years too understand it was a catholic prayer, ( me being of Jewish descent, I didn’t change my belief in my GOD besides I liked the part where we walked through the Valley of Death.) besides we gave one of our best Jewish Rabbi’s to the Christians. Next your going to tell me that a gallon of Gas cost 39.9 cents and a pair of shoes no longer cost $13.99 at Tom Mcan’s, one of my meds cost $200. a month with part D wonder what it will cost when my grandchildren and there children get to be my age. LORD Help Them.

    1. Scott Amundsen says

You are either lying or you are an idiot. The Lord’s Prayer does not contain anything about “walking through the valley of [the shadow] of death.” That is the 23rd Psalm, and even when I went to Lutheran school as a small child we did NOT recite any of the Psalms at the beginning of the day.

Really if you imbeciles have a need to whine about something I do wish you would find something REAL to whine about. It would not make you any less annoying but at least you wouldn’t be liars, hypocrites, or morons.

Totally agree with you. Have you noticed that it is the democrat or liberal who calls people, i.e. stupid, liar, etc. Yet, they voted for and support a President who doesn’t know the truth. Most transparent administration in history, your can keep your doctor, health care cost would go down, just to name a few. I am happy to be on the right where the people are less likely to call others names like stupid, liar, etc. Of course this person doesn’t read the bible and I know for a fact that prayers were said at the beginning of the school day because I was there. We also recited the “Pledge of Allegiance” on a daily basis. The reason times were better back then is that there was more respect shown towards individuals, we supported the constitution and we believed in prayer. The democrats and/or liberals have taken all of these things away and look at the current direction. My hope is to see republicans taking total control of the Congress so that we can begin the long journey back the the good ole days and, hopefully, it isn’t already too late.

What a bunch of idiots you are. The article makes quite plain that the teacher made a bad mistake; she was misinformed and should NOT have told the child that he could not bring his Bible to school (in fact there is no law against it anywhere in this country).

If the Broward County School Board backed the teacher, they too made a bad mistake. But I am SICK unto DEATH of you people and your shrieks of “persecution!!!!!” every time someone looks at you cross-eyed. When you lose a job because of who you are, when you get beaten up in the streets because of who you are, when you men get raped (it happens) and the police either think it is funny or assume you are simply a gay man crying “wolf,” when you get evicted from your apartment because of who you are, you have my permission to talk about persecution. As things stand now you don’t even know the meaning of the word because you have NEVER experienced it and the more you yammer about it the stupider you make yourselves sound.

    1. Ron Beal says

I agree with you… however, it is persecution when we refuse to stand our and allow the idiots to rule. The separation of church and state has nothing to do with individuals doing, reading, writing and saying anything. As you know, the separation is that the4 ‘state’ will not form a religion and force the citizens to adapt it; and the state will not infringe on anyone who wants to worship anyway or any who! The feds have used the ignorance of the public to hold people accountable for what they can and cannot do relating to religion, WHICH is what the separation was intended to prevent.
When the government, (schools, teachers, federal employees, state employees etc etc) tell anyone what they can or cannot do as relating to religion, they need to be told to ‘shut the hell up, and move along’, they do not have that right.
Similar to the 2nd amendment, the constitution gives the right; the state nor the feds have the right to regulate or even question possession. But, lie down and they will wear you out and make an example out of you. That is OUR country, run by idiots and fascists, one and the same.

  9. Eugene Crawford says

The Bible was never to be interpreted the way we interpret !

…To interpret a story is fine, but “how” we interpret is extremely important ! The four gospels were written, men being witness to the event of Christ, telling us in “their own words”=interpretation! But what is important, they did not change nor have a different meaning of what happened !

…Matthew, Mark, Luke and John told of the event in their own words, that is what we read today with the exception of later 1611 translations of text with numbered verses.

…The four gospels were done well as most that have that story know, and it comes out much the same; but many wanted their own slants on what they read and little verses became personnel tidbits with meanings to do with themselves, like reading tea leaves or a ouija board, there are many people like that, living in a dream state or by chance. We are informed about this ! Deut. 13:1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, 2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, “Let us go after other gods,” which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; 3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Be very careful as to dreamers ..

The whole world can be destroyed from ignorance of this knowledge alone !

..Watch out for people interpreting things ! It can be a ploy to change the meaning of the original text or speaker ! Deceivers twist things, making you believe it’s confusing ! It’s not ! It’s only a ploy to change or manipulate the words so one listening has no clue after awhile, then new rules start ! Don’t be fooled ! Who is the great deceiver ? That’s right !

…A tip from Eugene, for all you Bible or constitutional pro’s out there …

…Some help to keep people from going crazy; some randomly with eyes closed, open a Bible pointing at a verse and believe somehow it has special meaning just for them !? That is the quickest way to insanity and context errors ! It should never be done ! The term “Interpret or Interpretation” is not what we believe or taught at all ! It was used a lot in the New Testament, but was always used to translate differing languages=tongues, what was spoken in the ministry from another language, someone spoke and another clarified, interpreting, so all could understand ! AND the interpreter could say it in his own words, BUT NOT change the meaning ! The terms were never used to mean we could make up whatever we like or have an opinion about! How do we know that ? Peter makes it clear to us !

…2 Peter 1:19 We have also a more “:sure word;” =(affirmed) of prophecy;” whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, (be careful) as unto a light (truth) that shineth in a dark (confusing) place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: (Finally understood!) 20: “Knowing this first,” that NO PROPHECY OF THE SCRIPTURE is of any “PRIVATE” INTERPRETATION. The use of “PRIVATE” a word for “ones own opinion or idea”, (guess work or change the meaning.) Take your pick! 21: For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of men, but holy men of God spake (speaking for a crowd) as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.. In that case there was always an interpreter!…Also take care to know tongue means language ! Now we see that dim light begin to get brighter !

..Look it up !.. NO PROPHECY OF THE SCRIPTURE is of any “private”, Greek=(( idios (id’-ee-os); of uncertain affinity; pertaining to self, i.e. one’s own; by implication, private or separate: )) 20: “Knowing this first,” that “NO PROPHECY OF THE SCRIPTURE” is of any “PRIVATE” INTERPRETATION .. Peter says NO ! We cannot go there! ..Now we also have people interpreting the constitution !? I was not written with multiple meanings !?

    1. Ron Beal says

I MUST comment on all of the Bible thumping: Dead people always have the ability to discern good and evil; the promise was exactly that- discern good & evil, NOT discern ‘between’ good & evil! A God does not ‘interpret’ the law and act accordingly; A God determines what is good and what is evil for others; if circumstances change, then the definitions change- just as the scriptures tell us. The Old Testament – designated as such by the dead- is the history of the Hebrew race and the Nation of Israel. NOTHING included in the OT was ‘sent’ to anyone as a guide for living! The New Testament- also designated by the same – records the pre-birthing of Jesus and the circumstances surrounding that birth. From that point forward, letters were written, sermons preached and counsel was given. A quick question: Were you there at those meetings, or were any of the letters written to you? Who were the recipients of all of those communications? Individuals who had been “born again”, and had “the Christ” alive within them. NOW, here are a couple of questions for anyone to answer: Who died in the Garden? Did God create man, made from dust, in his own ‘image’? Who was present with God when the image was created? What was the sin that Adam committed and brought into the world? These are all answered in the ‘beginning’. If you don’t know the answers, then start at the front and stay there until you know. Also, if you don’t know, you are also ‘dead’ and Satan, according to the same Bible, is your Father. The Dead always discern what is good and evil for others, true evidence that the Bible as recorded is accurate. The Bible was not ‘sent’ to give man direction in living; it was ‘allowed’ and manipulated by the Spirit of God so his Children could open the door to the Kingdom and revealing ‘who they are and their ‘destiny’ according to God’s plan. Both are revealed in the Old & New Testaments. Once one has found the “way” God has planned, there is no reason to continue reading and thinking on the scriptures. The ‘spirit’, i.e., Christ leads the believer, not the Bible.
Finally, the Truth, the Way and the Life have specific meanings and Jesus was all of those. Please explain each of those, or STOP QUOTING SCRIPTURE, since you do not have the Truth to share. The truth, even secular, does hurt at times. Feel free to comment.

Let me prepose this question with out the normal far left liberals weighing in on there sensitive heart stings of equality. What did we think was going to happen when we opened the doors and did nothing to police the influx of middle eastern descendants running ram shot into this once wonderful country.
You only needed look at Britain and see that the policies of that nation and there immigration have given them. We did this to ourselves and we sat back and let it happen.
Who’s to blame are you and I. We went about our everyday lives and cast not a thread of effort into changing the way our system was destroying this nation. This country was founded on a belief of God and His Son Jesus Christ. We opened the doors to every single other religion and expected it to stay the status Quo. As Christians we had too Right! I mean we are the group that turns the other cheek and opens our homes to strangers…. Right? US! WE! WE DID THIS….. There are boundaries that any group of people need to establish within there communities. One’s that make safe there way of life. Free from attack and meritorious of equality of retribution moving forward. Laws that govern with in that set of communities that are so established and so constrictive with in its responses that for any other group to attempt to establish a strong hold is impossible. All with in the context of Peace, Respect, kindness, and as such.
We neglected to do as such. As Christians we laid down and convey the idea that we are fundamentally weak as a group. That we can be walked on and pushed out and manipulated in such a way as to afford the opposing group the ability to justify there movements to absorb and or consume.
We did this to ourselves as a group. I blame not the Muslims. I blame not the Islamists. They are acting secondary to there system of beliefs. I don’t like it. Hell Know! But you have to have the ability to recognize a flaw or weakness with in one’s self before you can change it. Once this is assimilated within the group as a whole. Then and only then can change be established.
    So I offer this query.
If you where to have the ability with in yourselves to change the direction of a long established manifesto of peace. I.e. the christian way of responding………
Would you? Would you meet your oppressor in at the foot of his mountain of hate? Would you suffer the insufferable? Would you, as a man or women. One raised in a Country that has reversed and slid and changed its morality to such a degree as to be hated around the world by most every country……. Would you step on your vail of sensibilities to protect the very core of your belief systems……?
Could you meet your oppressor on the field of battle and put on the armor of God and I am not talking about the armor and shield that allows for your face to be shoved in shit every chance they get…..
I am talking about acknowledging that a great evil exists in this world and its growing stronger.

No, it all started in the 1800’s when “god” was injected into government. The removal of religion form government is the way it should be, must be.

Clarification is needed. Freedom and freedom from are essentially the same thing. the ability of the individual to have and hold religion as long as they allow others the same freedom. That means not having a belief system of dieyt or having one is the same. Looking at major religions there are so many variations that this live an let live is the only way for humankind to survive.

          6. Patti_Mi says

I agree with your comment about “so many variations” of the world’s religions… however, there is only one belief system in the true Christian Church. The many “professing churches” that deny Christ, promote homosexuality, etc., are in near total apostasy and are not Christian churches.

          7. cvxxx says

That does not sound right. That is why the 300+ “christian” sects are as divided as any other . Much of the bible both old and new have deletions and revisions that were not in the original. My professors read ancient Hebrew, and other ancient languages. As well as scholars who are reconstructing the entire books Humans made changes to aline with their personal belief system as in all human endeavors there is the temptation to make changes. The one belief central is that of Jesus. That is the center piece. In strictness speaking for Christ or for god is usurpation. Humans can only relate. We cannot assume anything. It is not the humans place to make changes or deletions.
The Church often has been a place for humans to reinterpretation to gain power and oppression of thought, not that of certain powerful men.

          8. Jenny says

I have no objections to others having the freedom to worship in whatever manner they choose – as long as they do it in their own country and not in mine! My country was formed as a Christian nation, NOT Judeo-Christian, just plain Christian. Not Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist, and certainly not Judaism!! All these last religions have their own country, and the people in those countries respect their particular religion. Cows are not sacred in America as the Hindu believe is just one example of why other religions are not acceptable to Christians.

Oh yes, I am being prejudiced, or biased if you prefer. But I am not being ‘racist’ – a word created by a Communist Jew. If you come to my country, YOU must be willing to accept our culture – which is Christian. Don’t come here to think you can change things to be like the country you came from. You will be resented and hated in due time. That is what this government, run by Jews, is trying to do. Start a culture clash – their objective has always been to divide and conquer.

          9. cvxxx says

There are over 300 christian sects. Point of fact judeo-christian is the same and is the religion of the founders of this country. It appears that some have pulled the wool over your eyes.
Now what is the difference is culture. We have a culture that is unique. That has always been under fire from those who would exploit. Right now there is a huge divide between rich and middle class. That never happened exactly the same way before. Jews do not rule anything; as the elite are the power as they control the campaign funds. The real threat is campaign funding. That is the avenue for corruption.
What the US has filed to do is have an official Language. That will be the first step. Everyone learn English. Next deport those here illegally. I am sympathetic to children brought here, raised here and educated here be given a way to citizenship but first they need to go to the home country and apply properly(yes I would think accelerated admittance is in order). Language needs to extent to Tv,including cable to force the learning of English.

          10. Jenny says

Actually, you are the one who is naive. Judeo-Christianity is an oxymoron. They are diametrically opposed to one another.

There is almost no middle-class anymore. The Zionist Jews have seen to that. Zionist Jews were formerly known as Bolshevik Jews. Ring any bells? What the Bolshevik Jews did to Russia they are now doing to America – and the rest of the world!

But Obama’s closest advisor is the Muslim, Valerie Jarrett. Nevertheless, it’s the Zionist Jew’s money that keep things on track for their agenda to become the New World Order. AIPAC, the number one lobby in D.C. pretty much runs the show.

          11. cvxxx says

ROFL it is you that does not understand the realms of power an money. The elite have two things in common culture of the upper class and money. the people you mention have little power. The congress is bought by global corporations and the 50,000 big donors. These people are making the same mistakes that have been made in the past.
The West is secular. All the religion talk is lip service. That is for the poor to sop up. The elite know what really counts.

          12. Jenny says

Lord Rothschild, head of the Bank of England and the Federal Reserve, etc. is worth $500 TRILLION. That’s where the power lies. Mayer Amschel Bauer changed his name to Rothschild and sent his sons out into the world to establish banks around the globe. He told them, “Give me control of a nation’s currency and I care not who makes its laws.”

Bauer/Rothschild was a German Jew, born in 1744.

            http://www.rense.com/general88/hist.htm

The Rothschilds have been in control of the world for a very long time, their tentacles reaching into many aspects of our daily lives, as is documented in the following timeline. However, before you jump to the timeline, please read this invaluable introduction which will tell you who the Rothschilds are as oppose to who they claim to be. The Rothschilds claim that they are Jewish, when in fact they are Khazars. They are from a country called Khazaria, which occupied the land locked between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea which is now predominantly occupied by Georgia. The reason the Rothschilds claim to be Jewish is that the Khazars under the instruction of the King, converted to the Jewish faith in 740 A.D., but of course that did not include converting their Asiatic Mongolian genes to the genes of the Jewish people.
You will find that approximately 90% of people in the world today who call themselves Jews are actually Khazars, or as they like to be known, Ashkenazi Jews. These people knowingly lie to the world with their claims that the land of Israel is theirs by birthright, when in actual fact their real homeland is over 800 miles away in Georgia.
So, next time you hear an Israeli Prime Minister bleating about the so- called persecution of the Jews, consider this, every Prime Minister of Israel has been an Ashkenazi Jew. Therefore when all these Prime Ministers have curried favour with the West for their re-establishment of a Jewish homeland, they have knowingly and deliberately lied to you, as they were never from that region, and they well know it, because it is they who call themselves Ashkenazi Jews.
The Book of Revelation, Chapter 2, Verse 9, states the following which would appear to be about these Ashkenazi Jews: “I know thy works, and tribulation and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, butare the synagogue of Satan.” The most wealthy bloodline in the world bar none and the leader of the Ashkenazi Jews in the world today is the Rothschild family. As you will see in the timeline, the Rothschilds have obtained this position through lies, manipulation and murder. Their bloodline also extends into the Royal Families of Europe, and the following family names: Astor; Bundy; Collins; duPont; Freeman; Kennedy; Morgan; Oppenheimer; Rockefeller; Sassoon; Schiff; Taft; and Van Duyn. However, these are not the only bloodlines to worry about. You are probably aware of the centuries old pratice undertaken by many Ashkenazi Jews whereby they would change their name, in order for them to appear part of the dominant race of the country in which they lived, so as they could obtain influential positions in that country, which they would then exploit to serve their real masters elsewhere. There is plenty of evidence to prove the Rothschilds continue that deceptive tradition.

Kind of interesting that so many of those who ballyhoo the separation of church and state are irreligious.

          14. jayleigh says

“Separation of Church & State” – that comment by Jefferson in his letter to the Congregational Church was intended to clarify to them that the Church was safe from imposition by the State. In fact, Jefferson allowed a church to meet in the rotunda during his administration. And, he was so appalled by the poor quality of the music, he instructed the Marine Band to play for all the services. If he believed that the “wall of separation” was to protect the people and the government from intrusion by “religion” he would not have encouraged and supported a church meeting in the Capitol building! The separation of church and state comment was to reassure the church that the government was not going to intrude into its theology. That’s all. There is no such statement in the U.S.C. – in fact, just the opposite is there in the “Five Freedoms” – Freedom OF religion – not Freedom FROM religion. That means the government cannot impinge on the freedom OF religion except when human sacrifice or extreme physical punishment by religious leaders is perpetrated on adherents.

          15. Jenny says

However, the ACLU took Jefferson’s words out of context to use them in their case against religions, particularly Christianity, in front of the SCOTUS. The ACLU is just another Communist group. Having won their case, they started moving across the land to remove all crosses from the landscape – including graves. They even went after a War Memorial Cross on Mt. Soledad, which I had known all my life. Peculiar thing, though, they went after Judge Moore to remove the Ten Commandments from the Alabama courthouse, but they allowed the Ten Commandment to stay, in numerous places, in Washington, D.C. Communists are such hypocrites!

Yes! And every psychology and sociology class in secular colleges teach “situation ethics” – they really like to use the “lifeboat” story and other such nonsense to get students to choose one person of value over another. (ie: toss the pregnant welfare mom with 3 other children in addition to the pre-born child overboard because she is useless, but spare the man who intends to give his kidney to his ailing brother). There are many variations of the people in the lifeboat, but it’s all the same structure. See the worth of the person by what they contribute to society and then define their worth based on output.

This is one of the reasons for an Article V “convention of states” which is in the process of being constructed right now. One of the purposed amendments is term limits on politicians and judges including SCOTUS justices.

          1. jayleigh says

We also need term limits for Congress!

          2. loran says

That’s a given. However, the topic was judges. Are you involved with COS? If not, go to the website and join in the effort.

          3. James Holloway says

            NO CON-CON! See previous comment.

          4. loran says

#1, it’s not a con-con. Yes you are entitled to your own opinion, but you you’re not entitled to disseminate false information. You have misunderstood what an Article V convention is and who may participate.

          5. Trisha Holmeide says

loran, hundreds of legal experts have discussed this entire topic up one side and the other. Once a convention (no matter under what pretext or Article it is called) convenes there is no power on earth greater and no law on earth nor entity on earth that can stop the delegates from doing whatever they want to do. You have faith they will only address the budget issue. I do not, because I am a student of human behavior. I do not see the same strength, morality and basic high level of character present today that was present in the people whom God entrusted to develop and bring forth the constitution the first time around. Not only that, but today there are extremely wealthy NWO types just frothing at the bit to get their people in as delegates, or to bribe delegates to do as much damage as possible. There are other ways–safer ways to restore our precious freedoms and force law makers to legislate within the restraints of the constitution such as nullification. A convention of the states would be providing those bent on our destruction with the single most dangerous opportunity to do so of a lifetime. Anyone would be a fool to wager our enemies would not do everything possible to take full advantage of such an opening. Think how an opening into our own body provides an opportunity for bacteria to enter and kill us–the same is true with the constitution that encloses all of our rights and freedoms being opened up–and, yes our enemies will kill us if given the opportunity too.

          6. loran says

My use of a BBA was just an example. There are many amendments listed for discussion. Have you read Mark Levin’s book “The Liberty Amendments?” If not, I urge you too read it. Did you visit the website “conventionofstates.com?” If not, please do so. This site explains everything one needs to know about an Article V convention of states.

          7. Roger says

Really I thought the topic was the constitution!

          8. loran says

If you read my response to catman, this is what I was posting about. Also, an Article V convention is in the Constitution. It was placed there so the several states had a way of limiting the Federal Government. So are you going to join us at COS?

          9. Trisha Holmeide says

Loran, I agree to term limiting the justices of the SCOTUS because as it is now they hold those positions for life. However we already do have term limits for our law-makers–we can vote them out of office anytime. And, opening up our constitution–regardless what Levin and others are saying, is a very dangerous proposition. Just as many, if not more, Soros influenced people are in volved in trying to make the COS happen, than true patriots. And, we simply do not have men and women of the same character, under the same influence, or with the same understanding of the basic nature of man as those who founded this nation in the first place. In fact, even they got carried away and ratified far more than they were elected to do by the people (runaway convention) so what is going to stop modern-day delegates (many of whom may be bribed by the likes of Soros) from completely dismanteling our constitution once they get together and represent us “they” will have the power to do whatever they want to do with it and there will be nothing Congress or the President or anyone can do about it because the Federal government only has a contract given to it by the states! So, no thanks to the Convention of the States, there are other ways and means of accomplishing what you want to get done without risking the whole ball of wax!

          10. loran says

Trisha, our Founding Fathers held a Constitutional Convention and yes, some people claim it was a run-a-way convention. I disagree. Look at what they did accomplish. Fortunately, someone who wanted a way for the states and the people to protect themselves from a tyrannical government got their way . That person would not allow ratification of the Constitution until the Article V rule was in place. An Article V convention is not a constitutional convention. But I believe that our current government is so far out of what we need that this is the only way to ring it back into accordance with the people. I hope the people of the Mount Vernon assembly are successful at organizing this to prevent what your concerns are. Please realize that Soros allies would have a very difficult time gaining access to this convention. The House, the Senate and even federal judges cannot interfere with this. Though I do believe that ten limits are important, I think a balanced budget amendment is more important.

          11. Colleen Campbell says

Loran: It has recently been going around that POTUS is pushing for unlimited terms & this is more important than any budget. If he was a dictator forever there would never be any of the original documents any longer & he is currently shredding them all with out We the People’s permission, look how many changes he has made to the P.P. & A.C.A (our national health care) originally it was 2,700 pages & now it is more likely 27,000 pages after all the changes he has made to it because he messed it up so bad & had to change the wording & make it appear so legal & additions which I am sure statements of the fact that the citizens are signing over all possessions to the Federal Government, houses, cars, bank accounts, retirement accounts, boats, any & all monies of any form ETC. So he can keep his word on wealth redistribution is what he will tell the citizens so they will feel special. He is currently trying to get all of our stuff right now but if I Pray he doesn’t attach our bank accounts because I live on less than 1200 a month & most make that in a week.

          12. loran says

Have faith in the American people. I do.

          13. Trisha Holmeide says

Better we have faith in our “Maker,” and pray he will intervene and soften the hardened hearts of those who are eager to see our nation crumble.

          14. loran says

Well, think of the early Israelites and what happened to their civilization when their culture lost faith with God and actually rejected Him. They lost everything. However, those who kept the faith, even when they were held in captivity, He protected. Has America lost faith with God? I believe so. Not only has this nation rejected Him, this nation has cursed him. When issues like abortion, same sex marriage and a war on religion rush to the forefront, that cannot be good. That’s what we face at present. He will intervene in His own time, not necessarily in ours. We must be patient. We must continue to have faith.

          15. Trisha Holmeide says

You put it in a “nut shell” very well. I always have to remind myself scriptures mention over and over again we must “endure” to the end. I don’t think the word “endure” was used by accident.

          16. loran says

It sure seems as if the whole country disbelieves or hates God. But in reality, it’s a very small, very vocal minority. I know that the country is mostly Christian, but where is the support for God? So my concern is 1)do I support the political perspective and really get involved with getting out the Conservative vote. Or 2) is God’s plan to let this nation fall because of it’s willful desire to abandon God and his law? If it’s #2, should I support this? We can not know what his plan is, period. So I will continue to work and vote against this regime which is Godless.

          17. Trisha Holmeide says

Loren, thank you for your thoughtful response to my comment. but, we’ve had this conversation before and I am still not willing to lend my support for putting our constitution at risk, nor do I believe there is any way to ensure evil people do not have ways and means to hold sway if given the opportunity. While you believe the patient has a better chance of survival by having surgery I believe there is a greater chance of further infection from that procedure and would opt for effective treatment without the risks involved with surgery. I do not believe any of our efforts will have time to take affect unless God is willing to forgive us for allowing our republic to become so horribly diseased and lends His hand to guide and protect those who, with humility, courage and absolute resolve, engage in the work of restoring our nation back to that which He so manifestly inspired.

          18. loran says

Trisha, I can live with that. Just an update, the last I heard was that we are very close to capturing enough states to demand a COS. I do hope that it will be a success and that those like yourself will be proved wrong. I would love to get a Balanced Budget Amendment and maybe even a term limit amendment for all legislators and federal judges, including the SCOTUS justices. I hope you agree.

          19. Trisha Holmeide says

I’d go for term limits for SCOTUS for sure, but still believe our franchse to vote is our first choice in limiting the terms of bad politicians. Not so sure I’d like to see the good ones automatically thrown out of office if they are still upholding the constitution and doing the work we hire them to do. By the way, what do you think about getting rid of the Commerce Clause?

          20. PatriotGal says

Trisha, I used to believe as you so that voters vote incompetents out. However, look at the track record: inept OWEbama was re-elected when he should never have been; useless Boehner has been re-elected by the uninformed in OH; Rangel is another idiot, along with Schumer, McCain, McConnell, Hatch. The uninformed keep re-electing the useless, career minded politicos. Our elections are controlled by big money – PACS, donors, UNIONS including the SEIU which bought Reid’s re-election in NV. So, have changed my thinking and want term limits.

          21. Trisha Holmeide says

Nothing in a Convention of the states would change anything you mention except make every lawmaker a lame duck lawmaker more often than they are now and open the contstitution to possible complete dismemberment.

          22. Ddenney1 says

How about annual elections without campaigning only constant updates on votes and review boards of individuals? Just kidding I think all campaigns should be on PBS CSPAN and public access for all speeches on a rotating bases for 2 months then in the last 2 months the ones polling the best, debate while hooked up to lie detectors with their ACTUAL voting records and ALL debate questions taken from the people and NO mediator will be allowed to OFFER a life line to ANYBODY!!!!

          23. Joyce A. Luna says

Article V has several clauses to stop some of this, I believe there is hope except we do not need to jump into anything fast! All of the post have great ideas and that is what we need is We The People do care.

          24. Trisha Holmeide says

I still like the idea of erecting a “Gallows” outside the halls of Congress, the Senate and on the White house lawn. Anyone elected who doesn’t do what he or she says or reverses course after the election should be automatically transported to the Gallows platform and hung on the spot. They should consider their sacred trust with the American people as they swear an oath to support and defend the constitution and the time and effort spent during their campaigns as “due process.”

          25. paulnordin@aol.com says

I hope you are kidding about the gallows, Trisha H. Your proposal, if implemented, would violate the 5th Amendment to the Constitution.

          26. Trisha Holmeide says

I was trying to make the point we should no longer tolerate treason and be prepared to arrest and charge our politicians if necessary sending a message to the others they better take their oath of office seriously because we do and are not going to stand by while they sell us down the river.

And. . .let’s not dismiss ‘voter fraud.’ I wonder how long this voter fraud has actually been going on in our country. I believe that there were enough red-blooded Americans who did not vote for Obama. So, how did he get re-elected? You already know the answer to that question. In fact, not only is there voter fraud in re-electing Obama, but if you’re a Democrat or a RINO, you could bet you’re life savings on voter fraud as a tool used by these America haters. So, America, we’re really not that dumb, but the system has been hijacked.

          28. Colleen Campbell says

AMEN they are definitely rigged & only can changing the voting rules & regulations change what the lawless have been up to for so long.

          29. delbertballing says

You remind me of the night of the elections with Romney way ahead of Obumer, but in the morning Obumer was way ahead of Romney almost the same percentage. I was shocked to say the least.
Later I found out how that was done. Busing people in, dogs, cats, dead people, same person voting numerous times in different stats, etc.
What I find sad, is even while the proof was there that voter fraud was done, only a hand full was charged, and they were not politicians.

          30. nevergiveup says

And then they say, sorry but elections have consequences, like we had something to do with bringing in cats, dogs, dead people etc. Obama needed to be put out as soon as we saw how he started his first term; sealing his records the very day he was inaugurated. That was very strange to me. And from there it just kept going. We should have said, hey, wait just a minute here.

          31. leehardy says

Voter fraud a big one and ACORN, nefarious Bill Ayers Marxist group in Chicago corrupted voting as only Illinois can do it i.e. dead voters, double and triple voting. Saw an old lady coming out of polling place and reporter asked if she voted..she laughed and said that was her second time voting for Obama and she was going back a few more times and vote for him..That’s Chicago! Primary System is obsolete and blocks the average man from running due to wealth factor. Abolish Primary and move to Parlimentarian, no delegats, one election with candidates listed and in 6 weeks it is done with term limits and no pensions and salary when on duty! Time to end life time of free everything for the gooney old loons in Congress today! Many have been in Congress and living in DC so long they no longer have an address in the districts elected from i.e. Dick Lugar had lived out of Indiana almost 40 years and totally out of touch old goon!

          32. 3ronald1 says

I believe there is much fraud and it must be stopped. We must enforce presenting a photo I.D. to vote. Where I live, you must present a photo I.D. and they check your address and make you sign by your name in a book before you can vote. I don’t see how you could vote twice with that practice in place. The photo I.D. also would stop dead people from voting and someone voting under a different name.. For Pete’s sake, you need a photo I.D. to cash a check…why not for something as important as the right to vote – ONCE!

          33. Joyce A. Luna says

Yes it has been hijacked by the communist party. They came into power in the early thirties when I was a very small child. They just needed to take over one of the parties, they did not care which one but the most liberal people were so liberal they slipped in when we were not watching very closely. I believe that Harry Reid
has has that old age problem with his mind and needs to go to a really good brain doctor and have a mental evaulation plus his eyes are looking bad. He really needs to be checked over. Also, Lamar Alexander looks sick to me. These old men need to have themselves checked out by good doctors, they are not able
to hold the jobs they are trying to do or at least they are showing up to do.

          34. Thomas Morris says

I heard someone from Illinois say their thing was vote early and often thats how obumer got reelected and all the dead people that vote

          35. Korean_Vet says

You absolutely right–in several precincts in Philadelphia–there wasn’t one GOP
            Vote–that means the Machines didn’t Register any–just like there’s no 10 dollar
bills there either-! In my city–there was an investigative reporter from the TV
station who followed one woman around thru 10 separate Voting Precincts–&
he asked her–“Are you Voting Illegally-!?” And she retorted, “You’re Stalking
Me, I’m calling a Cop”-! (Needless to say–he left without getting an answer &
as far as I know, she was never “Charged for Voting Fraud”-!) But I truly
believe that she “Voided my vote–plus 9 other legal-voters”-! And back east,
I think it was CT, I read there was a Poll officer that was indicted for personal
“Voting Fraud”-! In India–I saw where they dipped each Voter’s thumb into
indelible ink–to show proof that they only ‘Voted Once’-!

          36. Trisha Holmeide says

So what will change if there are term limits. Electing a radical, or an ignorant, or useless lawmaker repeatedly or just electing a new radica, ignoramous or ueless lawmaker every so many years–we are still going to be stuck with bad lawmakers until or unless we are able to educate (or redeem from the brainwashing they’ve been getting since childhood in the US educational system) the citizenry of their unique responsibility to foster individual responsibility and true liberty thorugh their franchise to vote for men and women who truly believe in and will uphold the principles and doctrines of the US constitution without excuse. Term limits are just one of those touchy feely “feel good” processes which will actually accomploish nothing positive.

          37. Colleen Campbell says

I do believe B.O. 2nd term was rigged because he had his peeps putting fear into the older voters (ex: Black Panthers) & they believed they were going to get hurt or some other form of fear was instilled into our elderly voters & the Hispanics voted more than one per person in the states that are electoral states. That’s something I want to change “Electoral States”, who thought that one up & it does not appear to be legal to me. I think we should have the most strict voting principles & only by number shall any voted in politician be able to get the position only by hand counting the votes & they should be required to have proof of citizenship & I think all legal voters should have a special Voter I.D. Card because the current system is so very corrupt.!!!! We the People should demand more control to keep the thugs in place & not make it so easy for them to fidget with the actual numbers per running politician. Make it very, extremely difficult for anyone to vote more than one time per politician etc. depending on the position etc. This way is to easy to manipulate for who We the People don’t want especially as important as the POTUS & maybe We shouldn’t allow more than one term per president. Have you noticed how fast the presidents age in just one 4 year term ? What does that speak to you all is it when they are imposters & liars or is it an extremely stressful position, and I thought the POTUS had all of these peeps to help them like Valerie Jarrett who really is the evil brains behind the beast, what is your take on those changes?

          38. Ddenney1 says

Soros is the PUPPET MASTER in my humble opinion!

          39. Thomas Morris says

That’s why they don’t want voter ID

          40. 3ronald1 says

I agree. We need to eliminate the “Electoral States” and go to a straight majority. I also agree with you for having proof of citizenship and a Voter I.D. Card to prove they are eligible to cast a vote. We the People should work to have this changed. However, the leftists and corrupt among us will certainly not agree. Obama would not have won on a “popular vote.” They bused people to voting places to get their vote and told them who to vote for. Someone who doesn’t care enough about his country to educate themselves on candidates and actually go to the polls, should not vote. I don’t think American History and the importance of the citizen’s vote are taught in high schools anymore. The books have been rewritten and dumbed down to fit the liberal agenda. Love of Country isn’t stressed anymore either.

          41. Ddenney1 says

Ever see how hard it is to get ON a ballot? The incumbent has everything in their favor and then if you are a great candidate you have to get you message out in 15 seconds bites and PEOPLE are too lazy to check facts and it’s ridiculous that only about 17% of eligible voters vote and the 83% are clueless to anything happening then wonder HOW THEY lost everything!!!

          42. Joyce A. Luna says

That is what has changed my mind. I see that money buys them in again and again. so they are going to have to settle for term limits. That is just to make it
more honest when we vote and the money that is now spent and they are required to spend will not have to keep going on. Put a stop to this dishonest stuff.

          43. Laidbackrebel says

I’m becoming favorable to citizen enforced term limits. Because a consensus of character is the driving force behind such acts, rather than the exchanging of Federal Reserve notes, for one to line one’s pockets with. We do have the best government, THAT THE WORLD BANKERS, AND BUSINESSES, CAN BUY.

          44. cvxxx says

Blame the GOP for a poor candidate. That is why we need a multi party system. There are over 300 million Americans and still less than 50% vote. That is unacceptable.

          45. Michael Dennewitz says

What this country NEEDS, first and foremost, IS ONE HIGHLY TRAINED SNIPER! Then we could easily undo the rest of the corruption with little or no problem!!

          46. ipsd48 says

Of course, to make it binding would require a vote ‘of the people’, but with all the american hating liberals today there’s no guarenttee they wouldn’t vote to remove the Bill of Rights

          47. Trisha Holmeide says

What does “hating liberals” have to do with the Bill of Rights? First off, those who truly love liberty and the principles on which this nation were founded do not hate any “one” as a general rule, but hate the dangerous choices some people make that put put our liberty at risk in transforming our nation into a gigantic entitlement oriented society bent on self destruction rather than individual responsibility and liberty. Secondly, as far as I can see it is only liberal progressives trying to dismantle the constitution and nullify the Bill of Rights by trying to force everyone to accept and pay for abortions against their religioious beliefs; take away the right of citizens to own and operate guns, arrest people without a warrant and execute without a trial–so don’t EVEN try to paint the patriots who are trying to find a way to save this nation with the same swill plastered ALL OVER the progressive left’s agenda.

          48. Colleen Campbell says

Don’t forget along with being arrested for no reason we now have indefinite detention. Many of you may not know that the liberals will be trying to change the way they execute. When ever a progressive or liberal says a word like inhumane they are setting some one up for something. They are currently feeding the sheeple the notion that executing by electrocution or lethal injection is inhumane. They never tape executions but for some rigged up deal the powers that be did record some electrocutions where they forgot to put the watered pads on a prisoner & it took forever for the prisoner to die & his head turned into a huge flaming fire, basically fried from the inside out. Then the last guy who was video taped during a lethal injection took 2 hours to expire, I believe that they didn’t have the entire recipe of mandatory drug mixture so they kept injecting him with a type of sleeping med until he finally fatally went to sleep & it is suppose to only take 2-5 minutes and that is inhumane. This is where it all gets really weird right now in the U.S.A. in Georgia there are stored 30K Guillotines for 50 states to have 600 each to use for executions. This is what they are going to tell the citizens is that this is humane & quick & clean as a whistle & no suffering of any kind. What they won’t tell the citizens is the truth of why they really want to make the inhumane executions into humane is strictly a money making deal, remember we are talking about the progressives & electrocution & lethal injections methods are damaging to the internal organs in the use of donor organs. When they use the Guillotine it doesn’t do any harm to the internal organs & all they have to do is get the body in the fridge & it will last forever in the freezer & (1) one kidney goes on the open market for $40K so add up all of those organs & hear the change clinking, pretty sick but that would be another form of wealth redistribution or paying back the U.S.A. citizens for housing & caring for the prisoners. Its not money that is a sin, its the love of money that’s a sin & we are talking about some pretty greedy people & they have an agenda to complete & it takes a lot of money. It also states in the Holy Bible about beheading but I am not sure if it is in Revelations or not or Isaiah or Daniel so prophesy is going to be fulfilled one way or another because Our God already knew everything man kind would do before He created it.

          49. Trisha Holmeide says

Hey, Colleen! I’m not so worried about body part harvesting as I am what is starting to happen leading up to that. I’m speaking, of course, about “death panels” deciding whether or not a person has had enough of the good life and no more public funds should be spent on someone to fight desease, misery etc. Bad enough the progressives have ensured our children and children’s children for all future generations will be struggling just to keep bread on the table due to our government’s insurmountable debt, and that government schools have sucessfully brainwashed our children and grand children into believing in Material Darwinism and relativisim instead of absolute truth. personal responsibility and the sacredness of the family. Now, young families are going to look at their elders and the disabled as non-essential and unaffordable baggage as they grapple with how to keep their own house and home afloat. After sucessfully brainwashing our kids to believe in Darwinianism (survival of the fittest) instead of a loving God whose laws and admonitions are in exact opposition we are certain to see more legalization for euthanasia and rationalizations for denying healthcare and services to the “un-fit” as well as broadening of euthanasia laws to allow–even without the patients consent–family members, doctors perhaps even friends and neighbors to choose to have someone euthanized. I believe even minor children are being given the right to choose it for themselves in the Netherlands. Then, as everything we say and do goes directly into government computers it won’t be long before people start getting enforcement letters from the government saying we need to lose some pounds, get more exercise, quit smoking, etc. or our healthcare issues will not be covered no matter how old or disabled we are. It is truly an Orwellian nightmare to have government in control of every man, woman and child in this country through our healthcare and it isn’t be accident that progressives/Marxists/socialists/communists have been salvating for years to get us into a single-payor system –they (and only they) are the ones who want total government control over everything and everyone.

          50. LastGasp says

I might be wrong, but I think ipsd48 meant America hating liberals when he said “,,,american hating liberals,,,,”. As in liberals that hate America?

          51. Trisha Holmeide says

Yes, I believe you read that correctly…ipsd48 was referring to the danger of losing our Bill of Rights due to the voting power of those who hate this country..i.e. “American hating liberals.” And, sad to say, but it is true. If the majority of people in this country were educated as to the true history of our nation and the uniqueness of it’s founding documents they could not help but truly love this land of ours and do everything possible to preserve the blessings of liberty. As such, most of what we are seeing today would not even be at issue because the voters would have curtailed such events very quickly by putting pressure on representatives to do their jobs. Because the populace has been purposely dumbed-down and misled (or purposely deceived) we now are a nation divided and very much at-risk of losing everything our forefathers and the founders worked so hard to secure for posterity.

          52. alaine deBreaux says

Justices do hold their seats for life or until they choose to retire. They are appointed by the President and approved by the Congress ,and the appointee is always a favorite of one party or the other. Lately, there never seems to be an appointee who is bipartisan. Scuttlebutt is that if Ginsburg decides to retire, Obama will replace her with a left-leaning socialist. She has not indicated retirement. Let’s hope she does not change her mind.

          53. Trisha Holmeide says

Don’t know what the difference would be Ginsberg is about as left leaning as they come–openly refers to other countries and how they decide things as a valuable part of her own decision making. Seems the old-fashioned idea of “interpreting” the US constitution and arbitrating according to the meaning and intent of the law is out the window with more than a few with their long-robes for life bit.

          54. Colleen Campbell says

Convention of States is this about rewriting the Constitution because that is unacceptable to all Patriots & only the Most high God should have that Authority!!!

          55. loran says

Colleen, go to the website “conventionofstates.com” and read what an Article V convention actually is and how it works. This should ease your mind.

          56. loran says

No, It’s not about re-writing the Constitution. It’s about adding amendments to it.
Only the Progressives re-write and re-word things from documents to definitions.

          57. Joyce A. Luna says

Problem is as I see it, they buy their way back in each time, so the voting them out does not work. We need to put a stop to that with amentments to the constitution, I also understand that these modern-day delegates can be bribed. We have to really get some intelligent people to get together, and decide what to do prior to trying to having the convention. Each state has to get together and talk, talk and talk.
I have enrolled in the Constitution 101 which is free, with the exception of the big thick book you have to purchase if you can. If you cannot afford it just get several people to chip in pay for the book, and all of you take turns doing the lessons.
Discuss what you are doing and enjoy what you are doing even if there is not a convention. We need to know the law of the land.
They send the work out on Mondays and you work on your own time. Most people like me do not really understand our Constitution

          58. Trisha Holmeide says

Joyce, anyone educated in the public school system since Dewey (and WWII) has been purposely dumbed down as to our heritage and the blessing of liberty we are supposed to be heirs to. It is wonderful you have enrolled in this course..and there are several other ways to get the information you seek. I find most people only get interested in their “rights” when their “rights” are challenged in a court of law and they come away scratching their heads as to what they thought were their rights no longer prevail. Case in point is the Family Court system and Parental rights. Currently there are those in our government willing to give the UN via treaty the Right to run American families and decide how Americans can/cannot raise their children. Everyday our “rights” are being given and taken away without due process or even a whimper from our representatives. If nothing else, be sure to pass down what you learn to your children as they will never have the opportunity to know what this nation was intended to be all about from their lessons at school (especially if they are forced to endure Common Core robotizing).

          59. The Old Hippie says

Sorry Trisha, but a Constitutional convention can not open up to the rewriting of the whole constitution. All that can be discussed are the points covered by the declaring powers. Which so far only concern term limits and a balanced budget. Your fears show just how much our educational system has refrained from teaching our young adults in the last years.

          60. Trisha Holmeide says

Hippie–You are absolutely in the dark about either the worth or the mechanisms in place to hold a constitutional convention–those same precautions did not stop our founders from completely altering and moving ahead to create the constitution we now have and they won’t stop any future conventions from doing the same. Further, after all is said or done, everything has to back to the Senate for approval and considering the level of integrity on display on Capital Hill by our elected officials even after the most recent elections I do not believe there is a chance in heck of anything positive coming from it. But, “Old Hippie” you can believe in your superior education if you choose–personally I graduated Univeristy Magna Cum Laud and was born in 1948 so have had a lot of time to learn more than your average school kid today and don’t appreciate your insinuation that your advanced age makes you any more intellectually capable than anyone else–especially since I gave up smoking weed before it even became popular and I’ll be you didn’t!

          61. The Old Hippie says

Let’s start with the facts. Anything a Constitutional Convention comes up with does NOT go back to Congress to be approved, it is approved by the legislatures of each state. Once the convention is started Washington has nothing further it can do.
And as for your education, congratulations for graduating from what has become the biggest weapon in the furtherance of liberalism on this earth. I never meant to denigrate your intelligence but instead show the degradation of our educational system since we were in school.
As for the weed, you should not make assumptions based on implied knowledge.

          62. John Burks says

who has the authority to arrest a sitting president when he violates the law?

          63. loran says

I do believe it would depend on what the violation was. You should research what “high crimes and misdemeanors” really means. I could tell you, but then you would either not believe me or you would dismiss it in total. Now if said President actually committed a real felony, then any DC or Federal officer would be able to place said president under arrest.

          64. John Mccowen says

THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HAS THE ABSOLUTE CONSTITUTIONAL POWER TO ARREST ANY ONE IN OUR GOVERNMENT FROM THE PRESIDENT TO THE LOWEST DOG CATCHER…WITH OR WITHOUT CAUSE !!!!!!!!!!! YOU SEE THE HOUSE LEADERS LIE !LIE !LIE!

          67. Ddenney1 says

Thanks both sites are now in my favs section!

          68. leehardy says

Term limits on all levels of government for all elected officials, bar none! Absolutely necessary if America is to survive as a free country! Congress is a supreme example of a life time of rich old men and women staying fixed so that there is no longer a two party system except in name or political palaver when needed. Once these old birds have stayed together a life time in the House and Senate, it has melded into one corrupted geeky body of geriatric Oligarchic System which means democracy out the window!

          69. loran says

I’m also in favor of term limits for SCOTUS Justices. These life appointments I believe, are now obsolete. Not to mention too controversial.

          70. The duck says

Term limits for congress is a bad idea. I agree with your assessment of congress and your concern is well taken. But the way congressman is picked is bad. Each state should send representatives from the Sate Houses chosen by those bodies for each term of the federal conventions. That way if the districts they represent at the state level would allow the voter more control over their tenure.

          71. kanawah says

            Horrendous idea.
The Senate was done that way in the past. Fortunately, it was changed.
The state legislators have too much power in drawing the legislative districts already. There should be strict rules for drawing districts.

          72. James Holloway says

It was a horrendous idea to change it in the first place. What it’s original purpose was to make each Congressman responsible for reporting to the State Legislators for how they voted one all money issues affecting their state and this kept them in check from going head over heels in love with lobbyists which is now what they’ve done. Districts weren’t needed as the voters had full power over their congressional Senators and how they spent money. We have none of that now. That change was all about personal leverage and wealth. NOT THE PEOPLE’s BUSINESS! Emphasis, not yelling, but maybe I should to wake some people up to what’s developed by Congress and our rights and our diluted representation.

          73. John Wilch (TSgt, USAF Ret.) says

The duck, that was what a Senator was suppose to be when the Constitution and its accompanying clauses and Amendments were written. They were suppose to be picked by their fellow State Senators and a Congressman was picked by the people of that State to represent them; hence the name Representative Senator.

Loran said that one of the purposed amendments is term limits on politicians, I would take that to include Congress.

          81. yaki534 says

We need term limits or the supreme court. It SHOULD NOT be a lifetime appointment.

          82. Colleen Campbell says

These positions are supposed to be as public servants, what a joke and they can be a career anything in congress & I for one believe all positions in the United States of America should all have term limits of 4 years and under, maybe it should be 2 years and under but then they wouldn’t have to spend all that (OUR) money campaigning & also get so comfortable to want to stay as a career, good thought provoking, HUH ?

          83. cvxxx says

. Replace that with the return to the campaign finance laws that require no outside money (except on issues) for candidates and all is taxpayer supported. That reduces the effect of out of state money buying the candidates.

By also returning to the rules of the 1950’s we would not be bombarded by political ads either.

legislation that requires telling the truth in campaigns is another step in the right direction.

          84. Greg137 says

Speaker Boehner of Ohio, is breaking the law by ignoring his states constitution…
The reason? He is holding office illegally, because Ohio has state based term limits… The term limits if they were to be applied would have to come from the federal level and not the state… The Reason Boehner has been compromising and working with Obama, is, because Obama could easily have Boehner impeached and thrown from office, but it goes the other way too, as Obama can’t directly target the Speaker without Boehner bringing impeachment back on the table.. So, Obama and Boehner have been working together as “partners in crime”, so to speak… If Boehner wasn’t under the knife of violating his office by over staying his term, he could have had Obama impeached already… Boehner could have also helped Congress keep their authority… So term limits might not the easy way out like we might have thought…

          85. The duck says

SCOTUS needs a watch dog so they can be impeached a lot easier also. Some of the liberal justices have rewritten the constitution to fit their agendas.

All they have done in the past 25 years is shit and fall back into it. With stock prices up and corporate profit up they are as happy as a pig under a gate. All you going to get from them is lip service as the SOCIALIST democrat tare the US apart.

          93. catman says

Open forum billy boy!! Anyone can speak their mind here. FDR did pack the SCOTUS because he couldn’t get the ones there to agree with him. The original number on that court was five. He added four more and they were his friends. I believe he did this in 1939 or 40. I could be wrong about the date however. Maybe another reader has the correct dates.

          94. Charles Temm says

It was 9 during the Court packing attempt, FDR was trying to expand it to 15 and provide different means to clean house of the ones already present.

          96. Apolloone says

I am shocked that she hasn’t been retired, I am positive they wont miss the opportunity to replace with someone just as bad. I don’t know if Chairman Mao is one of her heroes, but Obama would love to put in one that does, remember that woman he chose I believe her name was Anita Dunn who boasted that Mao was one of her two heroes Mother Teresa was the second. One who murdered over fifty million of his own people and one who probably helped as many. Only one having a Mental Disorder would claim such a thing, especially in consideration of her appointment. I’m sure there was one just like her that got the job.

          97. Apolloone says

The Moderate Moslems are the ones who don’t strap bombs on while waging Jihad, they do Jihad by supporting those who do by various ways, even giving up their children to be trained as suicide bombers, financial support, providing a safe have for murderers; these are forms of Jihad. Sadly most in the west remain in the dark about Islam and it’s sinister goal which is to force Islam on the whole world. Check out the Demographics of countries in Europe while you’re at check America and Canada if something doesn’t change their numbers alone will be enough to destroy the American way of life. If the winds of change should blow against Islam I stand with Islam. Barrack Obama. I didn’t use quotation marks because I don’t remember if he said I will stand with my Muslim brothers or Islam which is the same. I believe most people don’t realize just how serious this is that America elected a Muslim as President of these United States because Islam and any form of Democracy can Not exist together.

          98. loran says

This is exactly why we are pushing term limits for ALL federal judges.

You are a mean and nasty breed, aren’t you. You must be a liberal commie …they all call the right mean names and act like they know more than we do…and they don’t know Jack. But, you’ll find that out soon enough….as soon as he is impeached.

          105. catman says

“He” will never be impeached so long as Dingy Harry Reid is the majority leader in the Senate.
The Constitution is very clear as to how the impeachment proceedings MUST be carried out. The House writes the “Articles of Impeachment”. They are then sent to the Senate where they will lie on Reid’s desk just like the other 357 bills the House has sent to him for action by the Senate. NOW, maybe, just maybe the impeachment process can go forward IF the GOP takes back the senate and retains the House majority. However, my gut feeling is that it won’t happen. Too many wimps in both houses of the legislature to do what is right for the country. They are too busy worrying about their own asses to put them on the line.
BTW, once those “Articles of Impeachment” reach the Senate, the normal procedure is that the full Senate acts as the jury with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court acting as the Judge. Representatives from the House act as the prosecutor(s). This is exactly what happened with President Clinton and you see how far the went………..No President has ever been removed from office due to impeachment. President Chester Arthur was the only other President to have been impeached and he was not removed from office.

          106. ipsd48 says

Chester A Arthur was never impeached. Would you have been thinking of Andrew Johnson?

          107. catman says

Those “right wing loons” are all that has kept this porch monkey POTUS from completely decimating the Constitution. Hell, he steps on it every day and does everything in his power to act like the little “hitler” that he wants to be.

          112. galateapartial says

As unfortunately, so has the current Conservative majority… ie, the Hobby Lobby decision inadvertently opens the door to allowing employers to imposing their religion on workers. For example, what happens when a Muslim employer refuses to allow Christians to take off religious holidays? Or some other group refuses to cover surgery because they don’t believe in blood transfusions. Or what if a Muslim employer decides to impose Sharia Law? It’s now (according to SCOTUS) legal.

          113. linda15419 says

Go work someplace else. Privately-owned companies have the right to determine what kind of company they will be. If you don’t like the ground rules, don’t apply for a job there. Simple.

          114. gordon says

            AMEN

          115. Kathy Diaz says

You are ignorant. That has NOTHING to do with the decision on Hobby Lobby!

          116. James Holloway says

You are showing your ignorance of Liberty and Freedom, which carry with them the responsibility of choice and action. Work some where else is the direct result of choice and action by taking the responsibility upon yourself for yourself and not imposing a form of slavery upon someone who doesn’t carry your value system or morals. What you propose is reverse discrimination and selfishness in all its glory.

          117. Carol Chadbourne says

They can quit and find another job at least when the Marxist is out of office so there will actually be jobs!

          120. James Holloway says

You didn’t read the decision…..no right was ever taken away from the worker to use or purchase anything they want or need. It clearly states that the company does not have to pay for personal items that they disagree and does not impose a slave tax upon the company by employees who may or may not hold the same views. The imposition of the purchase upon a privately held company is a social tax which is unconstitutional as it determines the enslavement of the company by opposing morals. That is not what our government is about and never was. There is no advent of moral imposition but the express liberty to be separate and free. It is neither a state religion nor a religion being imposed upon the state or its citizens. Your view falls directly under the foundations of communism and not that of a democratic Republic. By the way, had this not taken place, your idea of how Sharia is imposed would have taken place as it has in Detroit and some other places across the country. No one should have to provide for personal use those items which are personal ie, deodorant, tooth paste, tooth brush etc. Toilet paper is a necessity and is made available to the employee as a perk. No one has problem with that as it is universally accepted throughout society, as is necessary medical provisions and services. You forget also that you have the freedom to NOT work there and the right to seek employment at a business and location of your choosing. It’s called Liberty.

          121. ipsd48 says

            Wrong. Read the decision

          122. catman says

I’m all for term limitations on federal judges too. Too many of them believe they are the final powers that be and act like little tin gods litigating from the bench instead of interpreting the constitution as it was intended. Too much personal feelings in judgeships.

          123. namvet says

Term limits would be great for judges and politicians who think they have more power than anyone/anything.

          124. loran says

Yes, it would prevent any person from obtaining the longevity and power building finances to use at their discretion. But there are some other important amendments needed to correct discrepancies with our Constitution like a balanced budget amendment. I don’t think we can no longer trust politicians to not overspend or even pass out so called pork anymore without the overwatch of all citizens. Remember that they promised to inform us of the specific laws of the constitution when preparing and offering bills. Look how long that lasted.

          125. supergun says

I agree. Why do we allow people to sit on the supreme court and get old and make stupid decisions. Makes no sense.

          126. patriotdaddy says

            because nobody is stopping them!

          127. supergun says

We, America, has already started to slide down that hill towards,,,,,,lets just say that we are losing a lot of our freedom and rights. Maybe, just maybe we can slow it down a little bit at the ballot box in NOV 2014. Maybe.

          128. Ddenney1 says

Should happen but do not hold your breath!

          129. loran says

I’m old enough to NEVER hold my breath. But I do think we are getting close to this. When I see committed liberals siding with us over the border situation, I know there is hope. I remember Rush stating that when Obama was elected that it wouldn’t take long before the progressives overreached. They’ve overreached.

          130. James Holloway says

Loran, I strongly advise against a Constitutional Convention and here is why. Once the Con-Con is opened up, it literally is opened up the Constitution for revision. Under a Con-Con a predetermined agenda is not allowed as in, it becomes a free for all. If you don’t have the votes going in or even the promise of a landslide you may just loose everything we hold dear in that document. Seriously study how and why Con-Cons were convened. You will find that people on both sides of the argument had the people first, the law second and all had a lot of common sense concerning government. I wouldn’t trust any of these fools on either side of the aisle to do the right thing. We’ve got to hold the line at the voting booth first before this ever can be a viable option.

          131. loran says

You make some good points, but I cannot agree with you. The Mount Vernon group is in the process of designing the points of the Article V convention. I believe that they will prevent a run-a-way convention and stick to the issues. Don’t forget that this is only a states issue. Not the House or the Senate or anyone else. I really don’t see how we cannot do this to reign in our government.

          132. Jeffrey Bagwell says

It is long overdue Loran. These terms are mandatory. These demigods that sit on the benches, especially the federal bench, have for far too long, legislated and socially engineered, unconstitutionally.

          133. loran says

Unfortunately, there are way too many scared and panicked conservatives out there who are opposed to an Article V convention. They do not seem to be able to understand how it works or what’s at stake.

          134. Colleen Campbell says

SCOTUS that’s awesome & they should only get 4 or 2 & under each & get real live jobs & not get the GOD syndrome or addiction !!! Love it that the SCOTUS will be getting term limits & its a keeper forever & ever

          135. Charles Temm says

People who think that such a convention will stick to things that conservatives and libertarians will want are badly mistaken. Statists are a vocal and very large minority in this nation and will make up many delegations that will be present.

The possibility for good is there but the as large possibility of much evil is there too. A Con-convention has too much probability of even worse things getting into our Constitution, look how many so called conservatives bow to the media/progs now while in Congress/state houses for an idea.

          136. loran says

Whoa! Hold on a minute Charles. This is one of the biggest misunderstandings about an Article V convention. It is NOT a “Constitutional Convention.” It is a convention of States. Big difference. The President, Senators, Congressmen, Judges including Supreme court Justices, cannot interfere with this convention. Now we need only 34 states, I believe, to force the House of Representatives to call a convention. Please read Mark Levins book “The Liberty Amendments.” He presents all the facts involved. There was a reason that this means of presenting amendments to our Constitution was placed in it. Let’s use it.

          137. Charles Temm says

I see your point. I had mistakenly conflated the Con-Con w/the Art V idea. My bad and thanks for clearing that up

          138. loran says

That’s good. I know a lot of people confuse the two. That just tells me that the pertinent and accurate information is not getting out there. Tell people that if they want to know the truth about this Article V convention to go to “conventionofstates.com.” This site is loaded for bear.

          139. leehardy says

Term limits for all if America is to survive! Amen and God Save America and patriots rise up and be counted and church ministers where are you in this fight to preserve religious rights instead of going on TV with blowing bubbles self serving preaching!

          140. RobGoetzSr says

Precisely! A Convention of the States is long overdue! They first should focus upon “a re-affirmation of the Bill of Rights,” all ten of them, and; yes, the Second Amendment too, as it is an “individual right” of the citizens and the last bulwark against tyranny and as such, must be a protected Right…. as well as the other nine. In the future, “ALL” Proposed Legislation should be posted for over a year before any enactment and where controversy exists, no less than a 2/3rds majority votes of both houses in congress must concurr and approve it before it becomes law. James Madison and John Adams recognized the dangers at the very first Convention of the States, as is noted in a letter From Jefferson and Adams to Madison. Also, Congress must eliminate their exemptions from the laws they enact!

          141. loran says

I seem to remember that certain Republicans made a big thing out of any proposed legislation must have the Constitutional Clause which allows it represented when offered. What happened to that?

As a student of our history, I’d be very careful of using Jefferson as a reason of anything political. Just read about what he, Madison and others did to Alexander Hamilton. I don’t consider Jefferson that trustworthy when it comes to poilics after 1792. He does deserve plenty of credit util that time. He was the start of faction in our government. Something the Federalist papers had plenty to say about.

I pray that this Article V convention arises. It was placed there for a reason and that reason has come to pass.

          142. Mary says

All political offices should have term limits including Congress. A Country turns into a dictatorship when there is too much power at the top

          143. loran says

Here, here! But don’t stop there. I personally think “term limits” should apply to Federal judgeships too.

          144. Mary says

Loran – agreed. a judgeship for life – how absurd. At least in your opinion and mine. Too much power in our government. They are too far removed from the common man. How did we, the American people allow this.

          145. krhealeo says

I, for one would not trust what could come out of ANY attempts to wholesale modify our Constitution. And any convention, once gathered could make changes that would make our present difficulties look insignificant by comparison. We certainly would put at risk the 1st and 2nd rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. There are no present day sages to compare with the Founding Fathers. In deed, what politician can you trust these days.

          146. loran says

You would be correct if this was a “constitutional convention”, but it is not. It’s an Article V convention of states. A totally different convention. This is a gathering of representatives from the individual states to convene and offer up new amendments to the existing constitution. I seriously doubt that any attempt to repeal any existing amendment would be tolerated let alone stand for a vote. We must do something to return our government to it’s original intent.

          147. krhealeo says

The convention that gave us our Constitution was organized only to amend, to fix, the then federation of states. It , however, and thankfully so, was hijacked by men with another agenda, but do we have any of the Great minds present today that will assuage justifiable fears that what would emerge would be much much worse than what we currently have and BTW are also pretty much ignoring?

        3. afanaglenn says

          HOORAH. right on.

        4. John says

          Agreed

        5. jayleigh says

And, American public schools no longer teach “Civics” (American History and the U.S. Constitution) that were mandatory when i was in school in the 1950s & ’60s. “They” don’t want to offend people of other cultures. Hence, people are totally unaware of our history and our constitutional guarantees and provisions! It is a shame that globalism pushed by atheists have gained such ground in education. Many of the textbooks used in American schools are written by revisionist “historians” and blatant socialists-communists. No wonder our national pride and knowledge of our roots and laws is eroded. Hurrah for the two SCOTUS decisions this past week! A rare 100% decision! There is hope, though it be just a glimmer!

          1. richardcancemi says

Keep the people ignorant and they will believe anything. The Progressive Socialists have been behind this movement ever since their impetus, post WW1. Look how far they have come in destroying the USA. They literally bite the hand that feeds them. The USA is the anchor of Freedom for the World. It is the Hope of the World. It is the Protector and Savior of the World. If Americans continue to support the Democratic Party, in which all the Progressive Socialists with their treachery hide, and they succeed in making America an insignificant Nation as an ingredient in the UN stew of insignificant nations, then the World will suffer. There will be chaos and there certainly will be enslavement of Mankind. The World will become a massive Pen which will hold all the sheep waiting ti be shorn by the Ruling Masters.

          2. kanawah says

It is the fundy christians that want to keep the voters stupid and uninformed. That way, they can tell them any mythological BS from the buy bull, and they will believe it.

          3. patriotdaddy says

you are a fool!!! CHRISTIANS are the only people holding this country together if you have not noticed…this is why they persecute christians to the fullest now and turn the other way while it happens!! islam is forcing itself into america…and though a religion itself is not a big deal to me….a forceful 1 that calls for killing and raping of children does bother me….i refuse to allow this religion to corrupt or harm my child in any way!!!

          4. Carol Chadbourne says

( At this point, patriot, I sincerely hope your children aren’t or won’t be enrolled in public schools , under the core curriculum. Porn will start in K-garten..and later introduce to homosexuality and it’s acts. I could not, did not, want to believe what I was reading. Damn islamic cult…it’s NO religion..and it’s forced on us.)

          5. Mary Ann says

            Amen patriotdaddy!

          6. Carol Chadbourne says

You REALLY stink…you are not A Patriot. We’re hoping and praying that the rest of ‘Americans’ wake up to what b.o. is doing to our Country and our foreign relationships. You don’t help any, with your lies.

          7. kanawah says

The far right fundy christians do not want it taught, because it contradicts what they are pushing as far history revision.

          8. billy miller says

          10. billy miller says

You were saying that we didn’t want history taught in public schools.

        6. mallen11 says

You are right, everything is relative these days; no absolutes anymore. Things change with every new generation. If people would stick with the teaching of God’s Word, things would not change but stay consistent.
1 Cor 2:5…so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God

          1. kanawah says

There is no god. All gods are mythology.
            Christianity is mostly plagiarized mythology.

          2. mallen11 says

Very sad for your soul. BTW, what do you have to offer that is better than Christianity for the entire human race? Nothing? That’s what I thought — your life is an empty vacuum with nothing even for yourself.

        7. dogonahog48 says

Go on more than we really know. The UN- Afordablle care act is a direct violation of the constitution but 5 judges are in favor of it so you get it whether you want it or not. A bill I doubt the Judges them selves ever read every word of it.

        8. pdunc1013 says

Yes Therefore elect God fearing Judges only.

        9. Tony Donaldson says

Activist judges run riot in this country. Some are appointed and some are elected. They all need to be disbarred for not following the true rule of law. Things are an absolute mess with them on the bench.

        10. Conservative says

I seriously doubt that the liberal judges have ever read the Constitution and if they had they read it as a ‘dead document’. Vows and Oaths mean nothing to liberal judges and politicians, they are just empty words to them. BEWARE AMERICA!

      3. loran says

Quite right. BUT! People also need to read and study the Federalist Papers to get the most of the meaning out of our Constitution.

      4. Jenny says

Part of the problem is how the Jews have amended the Constitution in their favor. For instances, the original 13th amendment had nothing to do with slavery and everything to do with who could or could not serve in a public office. Lawyers were excluded from running for any political office. In fact, they were non-citizens by reason of their title as procured from the B.A.R., which stands for British Accredited Registry.

The original 13th Amendment reads thusly:
“If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive, or retain any title of nobility or honour, or shall without the consent of Congress, accept and retain any present, pension, office, or emolument of any kind whatever, from any emperor, king, prince, or foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen of the United States, and shall be incapable of holding any office of trust or profit under them, or either of them.”

        1. Shofar threading says

Forget about any Amendments for the moment, I was wondering how long it would take for someone to blame “the Jews”. Antisemitism is “alive and well”. GOD help us!

          1. Jenny says

Your argument is groundless. Jews are NOT Semites. Jesus was anti-Jew, so how could He be “king of the Jews.” Even the word ‘Jew’ wasn’t introduced into the bible until the 18th century. Prior to that time, the ruling authorities were only known as Pharisees, who were descendants of Esau and thus Edomites. It was these Edomites who taught Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews the Babylonian Talmud. Judaism is a racist, genocidal, pedophilic, cannibalistic, anti-gentile, Christ-hating way of life. (By the way, “gentile” should be translated “nation” in every instance in the OT.)

Real Semites have every reason to be anti-Jew because Jews have invaded their lands and committed ethical cleansing aka genocide. The land called ‘Israel’ today came to the Jews, not from God, but from Lord Rothschild, whose pentagram you call the “Star of David.” Palestine was NOT a British colony, nevertheless, Lord Rothschild appealed to Lord Balfour for Palestinian land on the promise of bringing America into the war as Britian’s ally. The year was 1917.

Every country in the world has reason to hate the Jews because the Jew-bankers have bankrupted the nations and stole all their resources. Every negative that has ever been conceived came from the mind of a Jew or Jew sympathizer. Even the word “racism” was created by Trotsky.

          2. Shofar threading says

I was about to respond to you, but your posts, for all their supposed
historical worth, is so hate-filled they might have come out of the mouth of
Hitler himself. You have given yourself enough rope to hang yourself in the
sight of God. May He give you His light to turn your mind from satan’s
            domain.

          3. Jenny says

I have spoken the truth and Jesus said, “The truth shall set you free . . .”

“I know your works; tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews (Judahites) and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.” Rev. 2:9

“Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie — indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.” Rev. 3:9

The Jews claim to be the “chosen of G-d” and here Jesus is saying they are liars!

I am familiar with the Talmud and the Torah. How can you possibly say that I am from Satan’s domain if you practice Talmud? That is where Satan’s wickedness stems from! May God have mercy on your soul for the deceit you try to create.

          4. Shofar threading says

Now I HAVE responded. And may God enlighten YOU.

R Yours is a modern day translation. Jews were not always included as Semites. Webster’s dictionary says:

Semite n. member of a speech family comprising Hebrews, Arabs, Assyrians, etc.; descendants of Shem (Genesis x). Semitic a.

            32. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

            33. They answered Him, “We are Abraham descendants, AND HAVE NEVER BEEN IN BONDAGE TO ANYONE. (emphasis mine) How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?”

            34. Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.

            37. “I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, BUT YOU SEEK TO KILL ME, BECAUSE MY WORD HAS NO PLACE IN YOU.”

            38. “I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.”

            39. They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.

            40. “But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.

            41. “You do the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father — God.”

            42. Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.”

            44. “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

            http://israelect.com/reference/WillieMartin/OriginoftheWordJew.htm

Strong’s Concordance more or less defines the words “Jew” and “Jews” as: “in the sense of a country, i.e., a Judean.” The word “Jew” is used 22 times in the King James Version of the Bible in the New Testament, and the word “Jews” is used 172 times and 170 times of those are from the same #2453 as the above “Jew” definition. There are another 6 times the plural word “Jews'” is used and all but one of these is this #2454. So for the 200 times, the words: “Jew, Jews, and Jews'” are used in the New Testament, at least 197 occasions are referring to a Judean in the sense of from a place, i.e., as from a country.

The question still haunts many and they have often asked just who are these people the Bible calls “Jew, Jews, and Jews'”? Why were these people not just simply called “Judeans,” “Israelites,” or “Judeans whose religion was Judaism?” This is the age old word problem of society problem that is surrounded with so many, many, lies and deceptions. “THE FEAR OF THE JEWS” syndrome that plagues society today.

S And this is what your Talmud and Torah say? Sounds more like the Qur’an or Mein Kampf.

R It’s not my Talmud, it’s the Jew’s Talmud. You know, I really believe that Mohammad was familiar with the Torah at one time. Then someone read him the Talmud and that, together with the persecution, made him redact some of his former thoughts.

Have you ever read Mein Kampf? There’s no comparison between that and the Talmud. Hitler was for the German people, whereas the Talmud hates everyone except wealthy Jews.

            Rabbi Finklestein writes:

Pharasaism became Talmudism … But the spirit of the ancient Pharisee survives unaltered. When the Jew … studies the Talmud, he is actually repeating the arguments used in the Palestinian academies. From Palestine to Babylonia; from Babylonia to North Africa, Italy. Spain, France and Germany; from these to Poland. Russia and Eastern Europe generally, ancient Pharasaism has wandered.”

In Rabbi Finklestein’s history of the Jews, he states:

The Talmud derives its authority from the position held by the ancient academies. (i.e. Pharisee) The teachers of those academies, both of Babylonia and of Palestine. were considered the rightful successors of the older Sanhedrin . . . At the present time, the Jewish people have no living central authority comparable in status to the ancient Sanhedrins or the later academies. Therefore, any decision regarding the Jewish religion must be based on the Talmud as the final resumé of the teaching of those authorities when they existed.”

“Why is the Talmud kept so unknown to non-Jews? Why was there no usable English translation of the Talmud until the Soncino Edition, 1934-48? Why, in European history, when the laws of the Talmud became commonly known, was it burned over and over by order of the Popes, excoriated by Martin Luther, denounced everywhere, and its followers exiled from one country after another down through the centuries? The Talmud’s basic law is that only the Pharisee Jew ranks as a man, or human being. All others rank as animals, “the people who are like an ass — slaves who are considered the property of the master.” The attitude resulting from such teachings has been resented by non-Jews in all countries and centuries. Such resentment, however, is always portrayed by Jews as “persecution of the Jews.” -E. Dilling

Mrotwist, Agreed. I have a copy of the Declaration of Independence , the Constitution , and the bill of rights. Any time I need to look at how and what is legal I look at these documents, Though the Constitution has amendments to it. All one has to do is look and you can see all of the laws that this administration has violated. Yet they continue to be free. While Congress dose nothing. What a useless bunch of people.

It absolutely makes no difference, it would be a VERY, VERY cold day in HELL before a teacher or judge ( if you can call them that ) can tell ANYONE when and where they can read the Holy Bible!! PERIOD!! WAKE UP AMERICA, STAND YOUR GROUND AND TAKE BACK YOUR RIGHTS!! It makes me PUKE to how we set back and WHINE and do nothing about it. We have more RIGHTS than we think if we only stop letting a bunch of IDIOTS dictate to us what they want. IT IS TIME TO STAND UP AND BE COUNTED !!

The problem lies in the school system it self. We should demand that Civics be MANDATORY starting with the Constitution and the Bill of Rights…to be taught starting in the 6th. grade, then explored deeper as the students gets older. It’s an oxymoron to tell kids why they are special without explaining that these precious documents is the reason why they are special and that to stay that way, these documents must be defended at any cost to stay that way.
These documents must also be talked about in the home and who and what is trying to violate them, so we finally get a generation that will defend our future.

      9. Tony Donaldson says

It’s ignorance all right. I’m glad this young fellow stood his ground. This teacher needs to reeducate herself. She should be made to recite the entire bill of rights to her class once each week. The constitution and the bill of rights should be posted in each class room, in an easily read format, so that the children who can read will better learn their rights. Then maybe this teacher learn about this document and see it in a different light. If Broward county rules that no bibles be brought to school, what will be the next book they ban? School is about learning. You can learn much wisdom from the bible. I pray they make the right decision.

      10. Conservative says

This is one of the reasons our Progressive schools stopped teaching the Constitution or how our government is ‘supposed’ to work. They don’t teach about the three EQUAL branches of government so they accept a Dictator who has not regard for for the law or the Constitution in his quest to ‘transform America’. We just couldn’t realize what he meant by ‘transformation. We couldn’t know how he was lying and deceiving he was while campaigning. It’s time to take our Country back. Keep America Beautiful, good & free!

      11. 2nd Amendment says

        2nd Amendment

        mrotwist,

I wrote this earlier on a different topic, But it touches on some points that you did about our Constitution. I could have spent a couple hours editing it, but I didn’t. So here it all is.

This 2nd Amendment fight has to end. Our Constitution is a set of
laws, the set in which this Country was founded on. In today’s age and
time, it really makes me question the beliefs of the Federal Government,
citizens in the United States. People say the 2nd Amendment is out
dated, that it meant we could only bear the arms from that era. At that
time, those were the same weapons our Armed Forces used. To this day, we
are still using the weapons our Armed Forces do. In this day of
uncertainty, the issues at hand, scare the shit of me, they should be
doing the same to you. The 2nd Amendment is short and to the point, “A
WELL REGULATED MILITIA, BEING NECESSARY TO THE SECURITY OF A FREE STATE,
THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BARE ARMS, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED”.
I’m not sure how many people out there, understand or have even read
the Constitution of the United States of America, The Bill of Rights,
Declaration of Independence, or if you only know what you have probably
forgot from back in school. If you don’t know any of the above, I think
you need to learn it. What is the Constitution, Bill of Rights, all the
Amendments. I’m a Benefactor at Hillsdale College. The amount of people
that have actually read, understand, and live by the Constitution is
maybe 20% at most. We do offer an online class, the class is called the
Constitution 101. Everyone that says, oh the Constitution is outdated,
things that are in it need to change. Take the class, start
understanding why certain things are included in it. The first thing you
need to know, EVERY Politician, Police Officer, everyone that takes a
position of authority, takes an oath to uphold and protect the
Constitution. But 90% that take that oath seem to forget about after 2
hours. It was Thomas Jefferson that said “THE BEAUTY OF THE SECOND
AMENDMENT IS THAT IT WILL NOT BE NEEDED UNTIL THEY TRY TO TAKE IT.”
Thomas Jefferson was and still is one of the most quoted persons ever to
live. There are just to many of them to choose from, however I have
another favorite that I will share. “TYRANNY IS DEFINED AS THAT WHICH IS
LEGAL FOR THE GOVERNMENT BUT ILLEGAL FOR THE CITIZENRY.” What the hell,
one more. “A DEMOCRACY IS NOTHING MORE THAN MOB RULE, WHERE 51% OF THE
PEOPLE MAY TAKE AWAY THE RIGHTS OF THE OTHER 49%.” As we all come
together as a nation, we all need to know what we are up against. Russia
has been flying off of all the coast lines of the U.S.A. ISIS has taken
responsibility for Texas, they have vowed to spill more blood on
American soil. The amount of Americans joining ISIS everyday is VERY
alarming. Papers just declassified about Osama Bin Laden, show that even
though he may have met his maker, keep strong and to keep attacking the
west. Right now more than ever, we need to gather together and become A
WELL REGULATED MILITIA. For more than one threat! Think about America,
DO YOU WANT SOMEONE TO BE YOUR BITCH, Or DO YOU WANT TO BE SOMEONES
BITCH. Which would you rather be?

I do not understand where people find “separation of church and state.” Not one word about it in the constitution. The only mention of this was in a letter written by Thomas Jefferson. Nothing at all to do with the constitution of the US.

      1. Sylvia Carpenter Kimrey says

This separation of church and state is what precipitated all of this. It began when god was taken out of our schools. Since that time it has all been down hill. Now we have children being slaughtered because there isn’t any god in our schools to take care of them. When we turn away from god, where are we going?

        1. oldtimered says

Actually it started with the Roosevelt Supreme Court ;which in 1947 accepted the communist ACLU’s wording of separation of church and state as something to do with the US Constitution. Remember Roosevelt was a communist progressive who like Obama drove us into a depression and appointed atheist and leftist judges. When God was thrown out of the government by this specious ruling the decent to liberal darkness began. Then in 1962 God was thrown out of the schools. Teachers who had to monitor bathrooms for smoking; now were targets of knifes, guns and lawsuits. In 1972 the Supreme Court finalized its mission against God and legalized the murder of His babies. We are now going to pay for this rejection of God’s ways. Then we can return to Him chastised.

          1. Shofar threading says

Oh how I agree with you, oldtimered. Thanks for the background reminder. But one point — I doubt that this country will be “chastised” until it’s too late, and the Lord comes not to chastise but judge. I was taught many years ago that God’s love will not deny His justice. Many better wake up to that fact before then. <

      2. Ddenney1 says

Jefferson wrote that letter to a Baptist preach to guarantee that the Government would NOT INTERFER with his church and it has been screwed up ever since!

    5. loran says

This notion of separation of church and state came from Supreme court Justice Hugo Black in 1947. Some leftist/statists claim that Thomas Jefferson was the first to bring this up. That is another liberal twist on the truth. They have taken his quote way out of context to further their own agenda.

      1. 8hottomato3 says

A law clerk for Justice Hugo Black used the term “separation of church and state” while working on a brief. Justice Black liked the term and it has been used ever since. SAD to think that a lowly law clerk could set in motion a term that would cause so much grief.

Right on SylviasDaddy . There must be someone behind this religious persecution. My guess is the White House. Obama is to blame despite his rhetoric to the contrary. He is guilty of inaction allowing religious persecution against Christians. Only Muslims, Atheists and governments are allowing this terrorist activity. The W.H. has several Muslim Brotherhood members there as advisors to B.O.

This child was not in the midst of trying to make converts, and he was and is in the right. You’re fortunate to have survived Viet Nam, but let me ask you: When did Viet Nam attack America so that we should fight them?

Let’s see – The Causes of the Vietnam War were:

“Neither the Soviet Union nor the United States could risk an all-out war against each other, such was the nuclear military might of both. However, when it suited both, they had client states that could carry on the fight for them. In Vietnam, the Americans actually fought – therefore in the Cold War ‘game’, the USSR could not. However, to SUPPORT THE COMMUNIST CAUSE, the Soviet Union armed its fellow Communist state, China, who would, in turn, arm and equip the North Vietnamese who fought the Americans.”

    11. John Wilch (TSgt, USAF Ret.) says

SylviasDaddy, your absolutely right when you stated that the Constitution says nothing about this so-called “Separation of Church and State.” This so-called clause has been perverted from a letter that Thomas Jefferson wrote to one of his compatriots. Below you’ll see the actual Amendment that I have included in my reply.

Amendment I. CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION; OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. (The capital letters are mine to HIGHLIGHT the words that pertain to religion).

May the Great Spirit watch over you and yours and guide yours and their steps for all eternity.

I love our constitution and its provision that free us up to practice our worship of the god of our choice. But I also believe that religions of elitism need to be curbed. How that could be done and maintain freedom to worship I have no idea. I’ll just stick with our constitution and accept elitists exist and as long as they educate others how elitist religion and political groups endanger our society. Hopefully in that way elitists will be minimized. Thank you all who have fought, became wounded or died in the struggle for individual freedoms.

    19. KayO says

You’re right, and anyone who knows anything about how this nation was founded by those running from Christian persecution knows that. Nonetheless, those who hate Christians like to twist the meaning.

    20. 7papa7 says

The separation of church and state is found in a private letter from President Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists. The baptists had heard a rumor that the government was going to have a government supported religion. Jefferson wrote back and told them that their was a wall of separation, this is what they leave out, but that wall is one way, the government is to stay out of the church but the ideals of the church should be practiced by the government.

    21. Mary says

And why can’t we convince people of this truth. I don’t understand why people don’t understand.

    22. RobGoetzSr says

The origins of the phrase, “Seperation of Church and State” can be traced back to a letter from Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists, wherin he reassured them that our Constitution was written so that it would “in no way interfere with their (or any other) religious practice.” Sadly, this phrase had wormed it’s way into court rulings, despite the fact that it was never any part of the Constitution or any legislative process….

    23. Joseph O Morrow says

Also, nowhere does the Bible itself command any establishment of a national religion!

The Bible promotes a Way of Life regardless of religion. God Himself is not religious! What religious ritual did our Great Architect/Engineer perform when He created the universe, calibrated it precisely, and programmed myriads of fully-functioning genomes? Did it take any more of an act of religion to create Adam and Eve than it took for any of us to be born?

The Constitution nowhere forbids me from shucking religion altogether (as far as I’m concerned) and simply cheerfully obeying the Great Designer/Creator exactly according to His Bible!

So far, I have not heard one word of wisdom come from this mans mouth. The founding Fathers were wise beyond their years and they were inspired by GOD all mighty. This man Obama is inspired by media coverage and his hope for more of the same .( He has ideals that are all about his agenda and that agenda has nothing to do with American values as Americans would hope). The” 58 State” remark is only one of many that prove how really not smart this man Obama is.

A large number of early settlers fled their home countries so they should worship as they pleased. Unfortunately, they imposed their own restrictions on religions here, & so it continues to this day. I think this teacher just took the constitutional view of religious freedom the wrong way, but I’m not an expert; perhaps an expert should be consulted.

        1. NOODLESOUP says

The early settlers came for freedom and ultimately created a democratic republic which would be dictators hate because of their lack of sole control. When there is disagreement our laws are very specific and brilliantly established in our laws starting with the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. Have you ever read or heard of O’bama’s true objections of using Sharia law? I havn’t. I am very curious what this traitor will occupy himself after he is finally out of office. Is it back to Chicago? If they are half way intelligent, it won’t happen. Maybe a nice paying “parasitical” job in the UN would be his forte.

          1. babby660 says

Sorry, Noodle, but your “”noodle” is mixed up. Mr. Obama got us out of an uncalled-for war in Iraq — unfortunately the damage has already been done. 3. rivahmitch says

Bush’s mistake was using a conventional response to 9/11. It was a combination of compassion and weakness. A few nukes targeting Afghan cities where Bin Laden had been seen, followed by an announcement that any future attacks on the American homeland would elicit a similar response to countries harboring such terrorists would have resulted in a far more peaceful middle east at a much lower cost in U.S, lives and treasure. Semper Fi! Your hero, OTOH, has been deliberately working to destroy the US economy, standard of living, middle class and military in it’s effort to “appease” the world while strengthening those who would destroy us. He is the enemy

          6. Roy Austin Smith says

Bamboo the muslim did not get us out of the war. Bush set up the date before he left office and he surely would not leave the country in the shape it was when bamboo so called shut it down., Two choices left, pull all troops out and let them fight or add troops and stop the al queeeeda .

          7. Sylvia Carpenter Kimrey says

Poor deluded babby. I feel so sorry for you and you will feel sorry for yourself when you wind up in Obama’s concentration camp, or wake up deported to some muslim country because you are an American.

          8. babby660 says

So sorry Sylvia, but you’re the deluded one. What kind of kool aid are you people drinking, anyway?

      2. jaybird says

Hi runnindeer, he said 57 states and the excuse was that he was tired. There are 57 states of Islam, I think it was a slip of the tongue because he has placed the Muslim’s in important departments in our government. He also has them at the White House for Ramadan. I saw the official “White House Guest List” for the last one. They probably won’t post it for the next one, was surprised at how many held offices.

        1. NOODLESOUP says

Of course, O’bama is a traitor to our Constitution and Bill of Rights by ignoring or declaring it invalid in his mind. We probably will never know his true involvement for even using Islam. He is so ingenuous that only fanatics can believe him. He truly should be Impeached on so many of his actions trying to wrest control and scoffing at Federal Law.

          1. jaybird says

        2. Sylvia Carpenter Kimrey says

How many are there? I keep hoping there are good Muslims, but how can there be? Does one ever hear about a good muslim deriding another muslim for being bad? Some muslims might not shoot someone or set off a bomb, but they do not do anything to stop it either, so that is collusion.

    1. jaybird says

If “Common Core” is in your schools, fight to get them out. Go to http://www.fpeusa.org/ and watch a video by Dr. Pesta (Professor) of WI. It is indoctrination and data-mining of the children, it is a one program fits all for your child.

This 1 child was using his free time to read, no place was set aside for the christian children to do this. In some of the schools, rooms are set aside for the Muslim children to have their prayers. Now rooms set aside for a certain time of day for a “special” group, should be protested

      1. Sylvia Carpenter Kimrey says

I second it. Atheist, gays, muslimes they are all minorities, so my question is why are all the almost 98 percent of Americans who are not in these groups letting these few people run our lives?. Why are we letting five hundred people in DC run our lives? Why can’t the American people come together for once and and quit letting these evil persons run America.

        1. Shofar threading says

Several reasons, Sylvia. The groups you mention quite honestly don’t mind
fighting “dirty”. The majority of Christians do because of Who they follow. Then many of those hundreds in DC have been put there by the obtuse or “gimme” generation. Even voting in, as in New York, for the 28th time (!!!) a crook and a liar.

What to do? Voting in the right people (that in itself difficult with so much fraud) is a catch-22, while fighting the politically blind and the already entrenched DC pros loathe to let go of their lucrative jobs. Then when you get people (of all parties) who really care about this country like the Tea Party, the political/media lapdogs roll out their pack of lies to deceive people and destroy all comers. THEY don’t want change because they are just fine with things going their way until we are, at the minimum, a socialist nation.

But let’s remember the leader of the pack (and so many put this way on the back burner, if even there) is Satan. He started his work in Eden and will not
stop until he is brought down by the only One who can — and will in His time.
No doubt there. The key for many is to pray:

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:13-15

          UNTIL….

“And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and
great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift
up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” Luke 21:27-28

    1. NOODLESOUP says

You are right, but we must support them. Liberty, The Becket Fund and Mass Resistance are my favorites. Many religious groups are more hampered by the Media and trash like the Huffington Post. I have literally discontinued even my home town newspaper due to their liberal only bent.

      1. jaybird says

My hometown newspaper has been bought up by liberals but the people are fighting back by writing letters to the “opinion” page and blasting the liberals. It is also a way of getting the Conservative opinion/corrections out to the locals. I hate it when I see articles on that page from liberal states/newspapers journalists. We can canter their letters. Just another way to get the Tea Party information out is the way you have to look at it.

        1. Sylvia Carpenter Kimrey says

Are you in Colorado? California liberals have moved into this state and are trying to ruin it and they have really made inroads. Did you hear about the city Nucla,CO who are requiring all head of households to have guns and ammunition. this in a state where the liberals are trying to get rid of guns, it is wonderful to see people fighting back.

          1. jaybird says

No, in Virginia and a Demorat gov. was elected this year. Our newspaper went bankrupt and was bought out by Liberals/Progressives. They only tell one side of a story and blame the Tea Party or Republicans if they don’t get their way. Our state delegates are fighting back on a lot of issues, so there is a “budget” problem. It was passed but the gov. vetoed quite a bit in it and the delegates might take him to court.

          2. Sylvia Carpenter Kimrey says

Yes it seems Democratic government is always bad for the economy. Look at Detroit. It has been run by Democrats for years and they ran the city into the ground. Colo. has a democratic governer also and he is trying his best to ruin it. we live in Texas now and liberals are trying to turn our red state into a blue one. I think it is time to have a third party.

Our Constitution and those that created it refer to GOD as the one and only one that can assist us in all our concerns. God was and still is the answer to all our problems. We have allowed GOD to be taken from public view, because those that want accept that he exist fears him and doesn’t want to be reminded of the consequences of not complying to the moral guide lines set down to protect us from ourselves. LOOK what has happened since we took GOD on and prevent his word form being shared. Words like homosexuality is not natural and goes against nature is considered a hate law if spoken. Muslims pray in the streets and Christians can’t. Their god is praised our GOD is to be ashamed of. Muslims force acceptance Christians present a choice. Christians die and go to Heaven to be with GOD. Muslims die and go to heaven to rape virgins like they do their 5 year olds. The Constitution will not be allowed to be read because it mentions GOD and we wouldn’t want to offend the gays, atheist, muslims and abortionist.

  34. mogul264 says

One of the MAIN problems I see here, other than religious freedom, is that these assaults upon it are aimed principally at Judeo-Christianity! None of the OTHER major nor minor religions are under repeated and continual vicious attacks, as is it! Could it be that this is because Christianity basically is a non-threatening (save in the afterlife!) non-confrontational religion? Or that it was the basis for ALL our governmental doctrines, equality, fairness, justice? I am really confused here! Are Christians under direct assault using government against us?

  35. Sylvia Carpenter Kimrey says

Everyone is right about this. It seems that American history is no longer taught in the schools, nor are teachers made to know anything about American history. If the teachers themselves even had a inkling of what the constitution says this may not have happened. My feeling is that before any person can begin teaching our children they pass a test on our constitution and how our country was made a nation. A nation that is now so far from what our forefathers brought together as to be very frightening.

I am so sick of the adulterated Blasphemy’s that have taken place over the last 5 years. Now, Obama makes it a legal offense to even say the name Jesus Christ on a Military base. Yet he condones and professes the sickness of his Gayness openly, condones LGBT, pushes states to have same sex marriages, and puts people of faith out of business if they don’t go against their religious beliefs and strengths, like the Christian Fella that told a Gay couple he cannot make a wedding cake for them because it goes against his personal beliefs, and it also goes against Our Father and The Son. One day these people will be made to see the folly of their ways, and it will be too late for them. They’ve already sold their soul to the devil, and that’s their right. But they have no right to push their garbage, on people of faith. Just as the Atheists use the ACLU to turn laws upside down, to have religious nativity’s removed, is an infringement of the 1st Amendment, when it’s on private property. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. To “Anti-Religious” and “Atheists” I simply ask you to go buy a copy of “The Constitution of the United States with the Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederacy.” It’s not long or expensive ($4.98). In fact many companies that sell hunting/camping/guns on the internet will give you a free copy. READ what it really says. You WILL be surprised at the amount of lies being told you by Washington. And please remember this as so many of my family have Died since the Revolutionary War to Today to GIVE it to “YOU.” Freedom is Never Free. It always comes with a very high price. Someone that has Died to let you live in Freedom. There is no higher price.

  53. Julia Miller says

I agree with Ms Swornia Thomas the teacher because, theres a place and time for biblical reading; churches are religious institutions than thats where such reading should take place “Sunday School”. Schools are institutions for students to increase in academic learning therefore, Giovanni should have chosen literature more appropriate for his setting for example vocabulary words, his text book, flash cards, and much more. In fact, Giovanni should have been focusing on his school work to illustrate to his teacher that he’s motivated to learn. I agree that church and state are two separate institutions and literature for each institution should be designated for those institutions. Therefore, Giovanni class break is inappropriate for biblical reading.

  54. Original USA Founder says

The Supreme Court for too long has been overstepping its power. Its Job as dictated by the U.S. Constitution clearly states that they are to Rule on Law. They are not to Write the Law as they want it to be. Congress is the only Branch that has the power to write a Law. Even Executive Orders may not superceed any U.S. Law. THAT is something Obama should have been called out on a long time ago.

  55. sunshinegirl says

You stand up for your rights Rubio Family. We will stand with you. If you need a petition signed send it on through. We’ll sign it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  56. Julia Miller says

Mr. SylviasDaddy, I disagree that the constitution states the two guarantees you mentioned in your post. In fact, the U.S. Constitution :Bill Of Rights,” specifically states:

    Amendment I:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. (http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/bill_of_rights_transcript.html)

Don’t get me wrong or misinterpret what I’m trying to illustrate to you, because Giovanni is religious is a blessing it demonstrates that he will develop morals, ethics, and values. But, his classroom break is inappropriate for biblical reading because the public school setting is designed for academic learning. In fact, church is the appropriate institution for studying biblical literature for example; “Sunday School”

    1. PTM123 says

It is not inappropriate for him to read the bible or any other book while in the classroom. The first amendment is a prohibition on the government and any attempt by it to to limit personal rights. By the way, a public school setting is designed for learning. I am unsure just what you mean by “academic learning”. Biblical literature is studied in many places besides “Sunday School”, in most universities that have literature and history courses, as well as seminaries. The fact that Broward County now has the kind of thinking exemplified in this article as a means to limiting students’ quests for knowledge is dismaying. It was not so when I lived there and raised two sons there. I see that the creeping malignancy of ‘progressive-ism’ has infected this county as well as those in the far left coast and the far northern coast.

Separation of church from state means what it says , the state or government has no right to mandate control over ones faith. BUT it is obvious that obama and his muslim, socialist buddies are determined to bring down Christianity and replace it with muslims, the same way muslims have forced Islam on every nation it is allowed to exist. The Choctaw Indian got their name from their policy of smashing the heads of the enemies babies , they didn’t much sense in letting the enemy grow strong and have to combat them when they could be eliminated early on.We on the other hand are allowing muslim temples to be built and teach of their greatness in schools while not permitting the word of God equal time. America has trumped GOD by calling his word a hate crime, if shared with a non believer. His words are no longer allowed to be seen in public for fear society might want to follow the ten commandments.Stand tall for your faith for a time is near when good will be separated from the bad and taking our heads want prevent us from paradise . Muslims rape little girls in the natural and expect that same privilege in the here after by a promise of virgins for killing innocents on Earth. Anyone that would surrender the sacrifice JESUS made to allow us a choice, either God or not, and accept the muslim lies is foolish and will reap the judgement of hell ever lasting , meaning Heaven will not be their eternal life after death.

  65. Julia Miller says

This comment is specifically designated for Jaybird and PTM123: School prayer in its common usage refers to state-sanctioned and/or mandatory prayer by students in public schools. Depending on the country and the type of school, state-sponsored prayer may be required, permitted, or prohibited. Countries which prohibit school prayer often differ in their reasons for doing so: In the United States, school prayer is proscribed in accordance with the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution (which provides the foundation for the separation of church and state). In Canada, school prayer is disallowed under the concept of Freedom of conscience as outlined in the Canadian Charter on Rights & Fundamental Freedoms. Simultaneously, school prayer is disallowed in France as a byproduct of its status as a laïcist (religiously neutral) nation. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_prayer) Therefore, as stated in my comment public school would be inappropriate for reading the holy bible in class because, a classroom setting is design for academic learning and not for religious literature or praying according to the United States Constitution: “Separation between Church/State clause.”

    1. Tinman Jones says

Go live in Canada. The idea of separation of church and state is not established in the First Amendment. That is the biggest buffoonery that has a lot of people, including yourself, confused. Find in the Constitution, anywhere, the phrase. Separation of church and state exists as a figment in the minds of atheists everywhere. Well, I hope we all can be enlightened to the truth about this. Until then, the border to Canada is open-though not as open as the southern border-so hop up there so you can enjoy freedom of conscience. Romans 12:12, everybody!

    3. freedommonger says

“Separation of Church and State” was a term in a letter that Progressives have twisted to suit their anti-Christian agenda. It is constitutionally designed to protect citizens against a state-controlled religion. It affords exactly zero protection to the state. You may bolster support for an amendment, if you do not like any part of the Constitution. Knock yourself out. I would advise that, in the future, you do your constitutional research with the Constitution, as opposed to Wikipedia.

Is your “Separation between Church/State clause” there just below the “good and plenty clause”, perhaps?

I have always felt that the theory of evolution is taught in a manner to young school kids as the ultimate truth. Where as the belief in God creating the world is banned from public schools. 2 sides / 2 theories. Why do we allow one and not the other. I believe that if a school system teaches one it should also teach the other. I believe this should be taught at a later age as to where the children can sort out between the 2 theories what is what. Then they will be educated on both and be able to choose fairly for themselves what to believe. I think somewhere in time, this has come to be a purposely placed ban on religion, to benefit an agenda of the worst kid. Also when I say religion should be taught in schools along with evolution, that it should include all types of religion and be offered as an {“Optional choice of curriculum”}. I may be way off base here but I do not think anyone has the right to keep Americans from knowing Gods word, which is what this country was originally based upon. Yes there is Sunday school or home, yet they same should apply to the belief in evolution. May God bless all of you whom are deserving

There was a time in this great Nation of ours when the only text book available in some schools was the Bible…and the result was children growing up knowing right from wrong and respecting others….When the Bible was removed completely from our schools, disrespect, then knives, and finally guns and murder entered our schools…We are not living in the “age of reason” any more, but in the “age of no reason at all”….Is this what we want for ourselves and for our children???…You decide….the time is short…

  72. Health Fix says

Most mature Christians who do not agree with religions do not interfere, bash, persecute, or kill just because they believe differently. Most of the people who hate Christians are either taught to hate them, or were raised in totally different cultures and refuse to accept anything different from their own beliefs. Can anyone tell me why this is that Christians are so hated. Certainly Christian believers know the answer to that question. It is our God given mission to spread the Good news of the Gospel, not to restrict, sue, persecute or kill because others believe differently than they do. Look how amazing it would be if people just took a little time to research the Bible and decide for themselves who they really are.

Everyone needs to read what our “Founding Fathers” thought of Christianity when forming our country. Harvard 1636 Student Guidelines and Yale1797 Student Guidelines are about God and religion. John Adams – Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. House Judiciary Committee Report – March 27, 1854 – “In this age there can be no substitute for Christianity….That was the religion of the founders of the republic and they expected it to remain the religion of their descendants”

George Washington, James Madison, John Quincy Adams, Patrick Henry, Benjamin Franklin have all made statements about our country regarding religion and Christianity which this country was built on.,

We need to get back to God and Country. Right now we have greedy corporations, bankers and the rich wanting to take over and enslave the rest of us. Look up Woody Harrelson Ethos -Time to Unslave Humanity.

  76. chylene6599 says

Those creatures that think they are gods and have the divine right to own all the resources of the world and kill whoever they deem unfit–like the ‘brown’ and ‘black’ people they are infecting with aids and devastating with famines, addictions, poverty, and the IMF–have made it their prime objective to destroy all religion but especially Christianity. The Club of Rome’s special mission in this country has been to subvert and fragment the Christian denominations, and it has done its job well. They began in the early days of this nation as anabaptists and jacobins, later Unitarians and now Luciferians. Look at Brzezinski and Kissinger: add in Soros and the Clintons. Look at what the Lucis Trust at the UN really stands for, and you’ll understand who and what that foul organization was really made for. By the way, Ob ama’s grandmother, Grandfather and mother all were Unitarians. It is no accident that wizardry, “magic” and the cults such as the “New Age” nonsense (which is an open door to demonic possession) has been shoved down our children’s throats–and ours. The last thing they want any of you to find out is the true spiritual power that is God’s birthright to every human being–except them.

  77. sanford paris says

We have become a government of the people, by the leaders, for the leaders. I don’t think that was the original intention of the founding fathers.

  78. RobGoetzSr says

Many who do not wish to believe that a God-centered world view is the foundation of America irritatingly ask, “Where does the Constitution mention God?” They suppose that because the founding fathers did not insert “God” into the Constitution itself that we should have a “Godless” society as far as the public marketplace is concerned. Let us see.

First, the constitutional framers built their structure upon the foundation of Natural Law — a God-centered world view. On this the founders were in agreement. But “Natural Law” to the entire founding generation was defined as the “laws of the Creator.” In a 1794 letter to the Massachusetts Legislature, Samuel Adams wrote, “In the supposed state of nature, all men are equally bound by the laws of nature, or to speak more properly, the laws of the Creator.” This is precisely why “Congress shall make no law …” initiates the First Amendment. Freedom of speech, of press, of religion had been given by God and no government can legitimately remove it.

Second, it is interesting that the founders relied most heavily upon the Bible for their political justification for the Constitution. William Blackstone, Baron von Montesquieu and John Locke top the list of most-often cited theorists — all of whom believed that God’s laws undergird civil law. But the founders quoted another volume much more prolifically than any other. Biblical quotations comprise 34 percent of all the source material offered by the founders!

Third, Supreme Court rulings for the entire first century of American existence boldly declared that “Christianity was a part of the common law of the land.” In fact, the Constitution is only officially considered to be one of the fundamental laws of the United States. The Declaration of Independence is another and is so stated in the U.S. Code. As Samuel Adams put it: “Before the formation of the Constitution … this Declaration of Independence was received and ratified by all the states in the Union and has never been disannulled.” The Declaration, which grounds our liberties upon God, was always considered to be interrelated to the Constitution in the same sense as articles of incorporation are related to the bylaws of a company. The Articles bring the entity into existence and the bylaws manage how that entity is to be run. Thus, the founders needed not place their sense of values in the Constitution since this had already been done in the Declaration.

Fourth, the Constitution does, after all, mention God. Article VII reads, “done in Convention … the Seventeenth Day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of America.”

  79. RobGoetzSr says

If I may, I’d also add that nowhere in the Constitution (or any other Founding Document) is “Separation of Church and State” mentioned. This oft repeated by liberals phrase is only mentioned in a private letter from Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists, adressing their concerns over government intervention in their church. It was never intended to be read inadvertently into our Constitution by the courts.

    1. bjamnjm says

Agreed, it’s taken up out of private correspondence, out of context & applied to the entire nation. It would be interesting indeed to “based on this precedence’ to dig up letter after letter, quote after quote from the founding fathers &/or constitutional framers &/or previous Presidents, etc reiterating time & again the role of God & Christianity in society at large & the government as well. Further, this separation of church & state nonsense seems to apply almost exclusively to Christianity.

I often wonder how well such progressives that rail against & tear away at the relatively conservative framework of our nation have thought through their actions. They’ve always had freedom to attack, defame, etc the very thing that protected them due to our founding documents. I wonder what they’ll do if/when they’ve beaten the heart & soul of our nation’s governing precedence & we are finally defeated by Communism.

I am reminded of Mao Zedong, “Yan’an Rectification Campaign” fancy title for “mass thought reform” during the early to mid ’40s. Tens of thousands of formally educated youth poured into Yan’an by the truck load. Upon arriving, they began their indoctrination to Mao & the Communist Party by being broken through unrelenting, forced Self-Criticism.

Additional to that depressing, repressive act, the “new recruits” noted an obvious caste system where, for example, the upper echelon received the best & most comprehensive healthcare. The mid-level communists received some medical care but not nearly so immediate or comprehensive as the upper. Then there was the bottom level, they were lucky if they saw a doctor at all. Many ran away, many were shot down in the act of running away.

Admittedly, getting way off topic but the Communists in China were like locusts, essentially everywhere the went they forced the local peasants to work for them, tortured & murdered “rich” & business or landowners. Then Mao & his buddies lived in the finest houses until nothing was left, Then the moved on. Also, Chinese Communist rarely fought the Japanese, their battles were almost always w/the Nationalist forces itself riddled w/Communist spies to “wanna be’s”. This is largely why the Nationalists were so ineffective much to the frustration of US Military advisers, etc.

Communism, practically speaking, has always been long on promises & extremely short on equality & freedom. In fact, I believe it may be the ultimate con by the uber rich & powerful,

  80. CarolAnnD says

This country is so off-course, that an American flag would probably not be allowed in school, but you can bet if some Muslim kid came with a Qur’an, the teacher would be praising him.

  81. coconuisse says

“Congress shall make no law” and yet it enforces a law that doesn’t exist. The “separation of church and state” cannot be found in the Constitution, no matter how much you strain your eyes to read between the lines; but the government cannot stand the thought of a higher power than themselves and so the words of the founding fathers MUST be spun to fit their pompous ideology.

And how many of our schools throughout this country are allowing their students to become acquainted with the Qur’an under the disguise of educating them so they won’t be prejudiced? School after school after school.

Here in Florida, the parents took on the schools for a book on ancient history that gave many pages to Muhammad and 1 page or so to Jesus and the Bible. They won their case. The book is gone.

CAIR the enemy of this country, but they are stupid enough to give Qur’an to anyone who wants it, with all the verses in them that prove what it is, a Death Cult.

    1. jaybird says

Last week Hamas held a protest rally in Miami,FL against the Jews sponsored by CAIR who used to say they did not support terrorist. Now we know.

      1. Yadja says

We have always known. FBI deemed them to have ties to terrorism and sent letters saying so and for the Congress to stir clear of them. Obama stopped the investigations.

The book Muslim Mafia is all about them and has the documents to prove it copied in the book.

“Connecting the Dots Two Years after 9/11” led by Senators, Kyle, Schumer and Durbin said they were a terrorist organization.

Frank Gaffney, Robert Spencer, Daniel Pipes, Joe Kaufman, Andrew Whitehead, Bridgette Gabriel you name it have known it.

Their leaders have been jailed and deported for terrorist ties.

        Goes without saying.

Liberal, progressive and atheist teachers have NO business being in a classroom. Teachers are hired to teach NOT to condemn children of their beliefs or the beliefs being taught to them by their family. Family is ABOVE schools and will always remain above. Why aren’t teachers monitored on the BS coming out of their mouths. It is not their job to deny any child from their faith.

Boo-Hoo! The Christians have been persecuting any disbelievers for 1600 years, killing tens of thousands. You are crying over this?

    1. jaybird says

We have evolved and are past persecution and killings unlike the Muslims. We just try to right wrongs now. It was “his free time to read” and he could bring any material of his choosing per the teacher and she went back on her word.

      1. fiddler1861 says

The Christians do have a 600 year head start on the Muslims. Maybe the Muslims will be as docile in six centuries as some of the Christians [not the African ones] are now. If the child was intending on reading it to the class, I think it would be inappropriate. If for private reading, the teacher was out of line. If the teacher had banned the Koran, would everyone still be in the same uproar?

        1. jaybird says

Reading to the class did not appear to be the situation. It was about reading what he wanted to in his free time. Reread paragraph 4 of the article.

As far as the Koran goes, if someone wanted to read that in their free time, who cares, read it. Do you have something against Christians???

          1. fiddler1861 says

Yes. Christians have been trying to impose their religious views in the classrooms and legislative halls for my whole life. Dominionists are common in my area. A secular education system and secular government is the only thing that stands in the way of the various Christian sects going after each other.

  103. Anne Christian says

Why don’t the Atheists and those that are fighting our Right to Worship Freely in America, go and move to a Country that either Forbids Religion or Forbids a Belief in God? Plenty of Communist Nations and Socialist Nations in the World. Why do they want to live in a Nation built on the Christian Values given to our Fore Fathers? When the Founders first came to America, it was seeking Freedom to Worship. So they built a Nation based on these Freedoms given to us by God Almighty. I would love to see the Demon-crats go away, and take the Atheists with them and all their Left Liberal sicko-s. Leave America to those of us who Love this Land as it was Founded.

The parents in Ft. Lauderdale should organize a Bring your Bible to School Day and defy the school policy. It is time we defy the forces that seek to violate our Constitution and drive religion out of our society. We have a right acknowledged by the Constitution that is a basic God-given right. It is not granted by the constitution. The Constitution simply states that no government has a right to create a state religion, or interfere with a religion that is not violating any of our other rights. The constitution doesn’t acknowledge freedom FROM religion, it acknowledges freedom OF religion. It is time for people of religion to stand up and defend their rights and completely defy those who would take them away.

    1. MyronJPoltroonian says

I agree in part regarding where our rights come from and what the Constitution actually enshrines. However, instead to a “Bring your Bible to school day”, why not a, “Bring your ‘Holy Book’, or “Your Favorite ‘Philosopher’s Book’ to school Day”? Then let the true intent of the “Enlightened Academics’ ” be shown.
