Shocking Planned Parenthood Injustice in Texas

Even the pro-choice crowd has to understand that the grand jury’s decision to drop charges against Planned Parenthood in Houston and instead bring an indictment against the undercover filmmakers is entirely motivated by politics. Not even the most radical leftist in the country can possibly look at this travesty of justice and pretend this is the way it ought to be.

Yet, that’s the way it is.

A Harris County grand jury decided Monday that David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress should be indicted on felony charges relating to the undercover investigation into Planned Parenthood. The news came as a shock, considering that the Harris County District Attorney’s office was specifically seeking an indictment against the abortionists. District Attorney Devon Anderson said that this was simply how the investigation played out.

“We were called upon to investigate allegations of criminal conduct by Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast,” Anderson said. “As I stated at the outset of this investigation, we must go where the evidence leads us. All the evidence uncovered in the course of this investigation was presented to the grand jury. I respect their decision on this difficult case.”

Both Merritt and Daleiden are being charged with tampering with a government record, but Center chief Daleiden is also being charged with one misdemeanor count related to purchasing human organs. And it’s that count that really reveals how politically motivated this grand jury’s indictment is. How can Daleiden be charged with the purchase of human organs if Planned Parenthood is not in the business of selling human organs?

Or, as Daleiden put it in his statement: “We respect the processes of the Harris County District Attorney, and note that buying fetal tissue requires a seller as well.”

Planned Parenthood crowed about the victory in a statement of their own. “These anti-abortion extremists spent three years creating a fake company, creating fake identities, lying, and breaking the law. When they couldn’t find any improper or illegal activity, they made it up,” said Eric Ferrero, vice president of communications for the national abortion mill.

Planned Parenthood has always denied that the videos expose them for selling human fetal tissue, even though that’s exactly what they do. They claim that they are permitted by law to seek reimbursement for the costs of processing the tissue, although that doesn’t quite explain why they think the law allows them to let born babies die so that their organs are kept in pristine condition. The grand jury apparently missed the part of the videos where Planned Parenthood employees assure the filmmakers that they use this very technique to preserve fully-intact tissue.

Surely the fact that a Planned Parenthood board member works for the Harris County DA has nothing to do with what has transpired.

  1. James Maxwell says

Houston and Harris county Texas is a bastion of left wing liberals and a sanctuary city. It makes you
wonder how through the investigation was and how accurate the information? Grand Juries often
try to make political statements rather than actually review the law involved. But the information
they are given is swayed by the cities attorneys and how they want the case to be perceived in
order to get a ruling they want in the matter before attempting to go to trial.

    1. buddman says

As a far west Harris county resident I can tell you Houston is a giant liberal $hithole 70% of Harris county is Conservative republican That is how TED CRUZ got elected this was Shopped around by the obama DOJ looking for the Most Liberal hack they could find and they found one!! Please note Governor Abbot said The State AG is still investigating and will file charges if warranted

    2. MrSwingGuitar says

Mr. Maxwell, I can link you to articles by pretty much all major news organizations, which analyzed the videos Daleiden and Merritt presented as “evidence” against Planned Parenthood. All of them concluded they had been heavily and deceptively edited. Even the so called “unedited full videos” had time stamp anomalies proving there was significant missing footage. This renders said videos totally inadmissible as evidence, which any attorney could confirm. There is absolutely no way any court of law would consider legal action against PP based on said videos. As to offenses allegedly committed by Daleiden and Merritt, that’s something for the courts to decide, not some totally biased website that clearly is only interested in Planned Parenthood getting punished for having the gall to provide legal abortions to women.

      1. Joseph says

You obviously take your talking points from PP. The full length videos were not edited, and were verified by an independent firm as unedited, and not doctored in any way. There were no missing time stamps. They are admissible. This is a politically motivated defense of PP. And you can’t indict undercover journalists for playing the part, 1st Amendment guaranteed right. This will get thrown out if the DA is stupid enough to bring charges. Texas AG still investigating the Houston PP.

      2. James Maxwell says

Last report I’ve seen is that, Yes, there were editing done to condense the first release
but the full video were consistent and under study were not altered. Since I do not have
access to the video to study them myself I have to rely on questionable reporting from

biased sources. To me the murder of unborn children is repugnant at best and very

seldom can be justified for a parents indiscretions. But the abortionist have managed
to get laws passed that allow such murder withing certain time constrains and

medical conditions. It does not excuse the selling of harvested body parts to a client
for profit and gain. Planned Murder Hood was founded by Margaret Zanger who was

an avowed racist and set for the to eliminate black babies and control the population.
The record so far showes them murdering more black babies and any other race.
It also showed them giving more money to Socialist Democraps than others in an

attempt to buy protection from punishment.

        1. MrSwingGuitar says

Read further. The allegedly “unedited” videos were also missing portions. This renders them totally inadmissible as evidence in a court of law. Many jurisdictions have now investigated this matter, and NONE of them have concluded that Planned Parenthood “harvested body parts to a client
for profit and gain”. There is in fact legal permission for those obtaining organs for research reimbursing costs involved, and that’s all that was done…that’s a proven fact. Margaret Sanger was a zealot and DID favor eugenics, which is scoffed at by scientists today, but her main goal in founding Planned Parenthood was to LOWER the number of abortions performed nationwide. Until her actions, all birth control was illegal in the US, as were abortions. Just as people didn’t stop drinking during prohibition, people weren’t stopped from having abortions because they weren’t legal. They often were performed by unlicensed quacks (particularly when the women were poor minorities) and many times resulted in the death of the patient. If children aren’t wanted, by far the best way of preventing them is through birth control drugs. I can tell from your rantings that you’re not subject to being persuaded that you’re wrong. You’re a true believer, and don’t really give a damn about the facts.

        2. MrSwingGuitar says

First of all, expert witnesses all testify that the “unedited” videos still have time-stamp anomalies that indicate editing. Next the heavily edited segments released to the news media are completely deceptive. If you want a very unbiased report from someone who watched 12 hours of the video, and who appears to not have been biased towards Planned Parenthood or those complaining about it, I’d suggest this: The reporter makes it very clear that money was ALWAYS brought up by the video people, not by PP. There’s one thing that the reporter finds disturbing about the PP rep. I’ll let you read it, if you actually have curiosity about it, and make your own decision.

    3. Beeotchstewie says

Isn’t that Sheila Jackson Lee’s district? If so, nothing more needs to be said.

      1. BoTexan says

what an embarrassment to our great state!!!!!

        1. Beeotchstewie says

Every state has its eyesores. Texas has more going for it than most states. Exception being her area of Houston. Not to worry, you have them well outnumbered and outgunned.

    4. Cotton says

Scapegoating liberals, that pretty much sums up this entire website. Why does this place consist of so many whining wing-nuts and bible thumpers?

      1. James Maxwell says

Scapegoating libersals is easy they are known by their deeds. I will be extremely
curious to see how Mr Anderson came up with filing charges on the Whistle blower
in this case and what “evidence” he thinks will make his case? That no charges
were filed against the Murder group is even more astounding as the were profiting
from the murder of the unborn. So far those women who allowed the murder
of their children had all said they did not give permission for the organs to be
harvested for profit nor for medical study anywhere. The whole charge is
in the least suspicious and brings up a lot of questions.

        1. Cotton says

“Profiting from the murder of the unborn.” You are implying that it would actually be profitable, thanks for the chuckle, oh silly one.

          1. robertdavidhummel says

Perhaps you ought stay up with current events and the PREMEDITATED SALE of ABORTED BABY BODY parts and organs… by the BABY KILLERS of Planned Parenthood.

          2. Cotton says

Oh you mean the thing that has already been disproved over and over again? Like how it just got disproved through this case as well? I have been keeping up with current events, you are the one that needs to catch up, friend.

          3. James Maxwell says

Since you are a socialist democrap I am not surprised you laugh at the murder
of the unborn and the profiting of their remains.

          4. Cotton says

Haha, hey look a ignorant wingnut.

  2. robertdavidhummel says

The legal beagles that initiated this Miscarriage of Justice… should be FIRED, …PERIOD.

    1. MrSwingGuitar says

The DA’s office initiated the case as an investigation of criminal wrongdoing by Planned Parenthood….you would fire them for this? The grand jury (who are NOT employees, but merely concerned citizens) found no such lawbreaking by PP, but came across evidence that Daleiden and Merritt had broken laws. You would have a jury empaneled to discover the truth disregard it when it conflicts with your particular prejudice? That would indeed be a miscarriage of justice.

      1. robertdavidhummel says

Perhaps you need enjoy the privilege of playing your guitar, … and be THANKFUL that YOU were NOT …”CHOSEN to be MURDERED while in Your Mothers WOMB”.

        1. MrSwingGuitar says

Way to avoid actually answering any of the points I raised, robertdavidhummel!

          1. robertdavidhummel says

The POINT (S), you raise …ARE… MUTE… as the Governmental Legal Beagles in this case, are Literally and POLITICALLY MOTIVATED to MANIPULATE … the “OVERLOOK and OBVIATE”, the FACT BASED “CRIME”, of Planned Parenthood-> Managers & Employees… PERIOD.

          2. Cotton says

The only crime committed was by those idiots that made this scandal in the first place. If you want to look for corruption and manipulation look to the people that made those PP videos in the first place.

          3. robertdavidhummel says

“SOME”, People HATE the TRUTH,,, Luckily the TRUTH Doesn’t Care.
Sooner or later the ROAR of the TAXPAYERS will be heard and JUSTICE will Take it’s COURSE…
“WERE IT NOT for the TRUTH SEEKERS… THE MANIPULATED GREED and MURDER for DOLLARS…(with the support of Tax Dollars), would continue UNCENSORED”.

          4. Cotton says

So… the south will rise again?

          5. robertdavidhummel says

Relatively Speaking… “YES”, and LIKELY at least 31 of the Those States that are engaged in the COS’…. a yet UNRESOLVED UPRISING, etc, etc.

          6. Cotton says

            I can’t wait for Civil War 2.0

          7. MrSwingGuitar says

The word you’re searching for is “moot”. You are also clearly confused over what is and is not a crime. Something must be prohibited by statute in order to be adjudged criminal. Had Planned Parenthood sold body parts for a profit, they would indeed have been breaking the law. The allegations that they were doing so have been thoroughly debunked. Anyone who has the slightest interest in truth can discover that very easily. I direct you to this article written by someone who watched the entire 12 hours of video, not just the tiny edited segments:

  3. Brenda says

And just who did he think sold the baby parts? And what government paper was tampered with? This one screams travesty of justice.

    1. MrSwingGuitar says

The people who shot the video used fake government IDs, whether they were drivers licenses, passports or something else I do not know. As you undoubtedly know, that’s a criminal offense. It would of course have never become a legal issue had the videographers not brought the matter to a head. If a grand jury is made aware of a crime, however, they have no choice but to seek an indictment. Current Texas law calls for a penalty for possession of
a counterfeit or forged license from as little as a $500 fine to a Felony carrying a penalty of 2 to 5 years in state prison.

  4. MARYSWEET says

I wonder if the grand jury was stacked in favor of Planned Parenthood. This is not American justice. This was definitely the liberals at work but the videographers should not be charged with any crime. They were exposing crimes.

    1. MrSwingGuitar says

Because, presumably to you “American justice” has less to do with finding the facts of a case than with coming up with the conclusion YOU would prefer….interesting interpretation of “justice”, there, Marysweet.

      1. MARYSWEET says

I understand the legal system quite well as I worked as a legal secretary for an attorney. This was not justice nor was the finding correct. You have never heard of miscarriage of justice before?

        1. MrSwingGuitar says

My brother is a professor of law at a prestigious university, and he disagrees with you. But, of course, as a legal secretary I’m certain you have far deeper knowledge of the law than he.

          1. robertdavidhummel says

Well I DISAGREE with BOTH YOU and YOUR Brother….
Your condoning the stated INJUSTICE… Makes Your and Your Brother … Just as GUILTY as those of Planned Parenthood.
Any thing you choose to argue on that point is full of HORSE PUCK’S and COW PIES… PERIOD.

    2. Cotton says

More like the evidence was stacked in the favor of Planned Parenthood. Don’t try to scapegoat this on liberals, you only make yourself look like a wing-nut.

      1. MARYSWEET says

Well, how do you think stacked the evidence if it wasn’t the liberals?

        1. Cotton says

The Center Of Medical “Progress” stacked evidence against itself by making faulty allegations. Have you even read an actual article on what happened?

Please inform yourself before making a DESPERATE attempt at scapegoating the other side.

  5. glenn398 says

That is a perfect example of why this country is becoming criminal in nature and will continue to do so as people in the future will be terrified to bring charges against criminals with this type of outcome. As they say the inmates are now in charge of the prison.

    1. Cotton says

No, this is a perfect example of idiots getting what was coming to them. The REPUBLICAN County District Attorney Devon Anderson even said himself: “All the evidence uncovered in the course of this investigation was presented to the grand jury. I respect their decision on this difficult case.” The only criminals were those indicted through their ILLEGAL actions.

      1. BoTexan says

ms Anderson is a woman, has ties to PP, has to get elected in a liberal city—- as an ex-elected district attorneyof 16 years, any da can control the grand jury by selecting what evidence to present to it, as the saying goes a da could indict a ham sandwich. ask ms Anderson how many undercover agents she is working with(who’s whole identity is a lie)!

        1. Cotton says

I love conspiracies, because they are always laughable.

          1. Richard Walker says

Cotton, the only thing laughable here is you and your moronic comments.

          2. Cotton says

You say that while I am currently laughing hysterically at your previous comment.

          3. Richard Walker says

Perhaps you won’t be laughing so much when you are explaining yourself to the God you don’t seem to believe in. Eternity is a long time to be in constant agony because of your willful disobedience to Him.

          4. Cotton says

            *Bible Thumping intensifies*

      2. GuardianFlame says

K A R M A – what you send out to others comes back to you tenfold. All those involved in murder of a perfectly whole and normal baby, so they can profit from selling that innocent soul’s flesh, shall feel the pain TENFOLD of each of those babies being sliced and diced by their orders. They will wish they were dead by the time their KARMA is done. Don’t think this will not happen – it’s the way of the World that teaches responsibility for one’s acts.

        1. Cotton says

The only karma received was by those two liars that were indicted.

          1. GuardianFlame says

Whoa there Red Ryder. All they did was prove what P.P. was doing illegally. That Judge has chosen the sidem of DARKNESS and he will also be feeling his own KARMA. Wjy do you ask? Because all those innocent little Souls who were murdered so Planned Parenthood could make EXTRA MONEY off those babies…mortals who had “anything” (that being the key word) to do with those millions of deaths will suffer greatly for their sin. They and anyone involved with those babies deaths will suffer worse than the babies did. The judhe who made that ruling will experience his KARMA…soon.

Obviously, you don’t understand what those deaths donto the mortal Soul. The Technicians and staff at P.P. as well as the Judge have baby’s blood on their hands/Soul and it will change their lives forever. Any death is disturbing, but mass murder of defenceless whole perfect babies for their flesh is sickening and evil and those that follow those actions and approve are just as damned as P. P. and the Judge. KARMA IS VICIOUS…

          2. Cotton says

It was proven that PP was never doing anything illegally, but you can blather on about “karma” and the supernatural all you want.

          3. Richard Walker says

Cotton, you liberal troll, you probably believe that the holocaust never happened and Joe Stalin only had Russian criminals (36 million of them…) executed. Since you seem to believe abortion is OK, why don’t we just perform a “post live birth” abortion on you? You seem to fit the description that the fetus is nothing more than a bunch of cells and have no feelings of pain.
What a coincidence that the Prosecutor presenting this case to the Grand Jury just happened to be on the board of directors at Planned “Unparenthood”. The success of such shenanigans is that when the wheel turns and the opposition gets in power the same treatment is meted out to those that have dealt so unfairly. I reckon that had the indictment gone the other way and Planned Unparenthood been indicted you would have been first at storming the barricades protesting the unfairness of the system of justice in Houston. The indictment was and is blatantly political and will be thrown out by the first judge with a brain that hears it.
Just to review, the felony indictment was for tampering with a government document (the California drivers licenses of those indicted). Since they were journalists attempting to uncover a crime, and PP has a database of those naughty anti-abortion folks, how is using a fake ID a felony? If this is the case in Harris County I would love to see the many cases of all the underage kids that have been prosecuted as felons. Oh,I guess you never used a fake ID to get into a bar so you could drink underage, huh?

          4. Cotton says

Implying that Planned Parenthood would have been indicted. Don’t make me laugh. The journalist’s “evidence” had more holes than swiss cheese.

          5. Richard Walker says

OK, Mr. liberal believer that it is OK to murder unborn human beings. I am very conservative because of having seen the unbelievable amount of absolute crap and misery that results from the liberal/socialist/communist policies that I have encountered in my travels around the world during the near 47 years I have been a pilot, 22 of them having been while living overseas flying Gulfstreams and Falcons for billionaires. I am also a Christian believer because it is the only logical and true explanation of how humans originated on this planet. And accord to my Christian belief, I conclude that any willful or elective abortion is murder. After seeing the excerpts of the tapes of Planned Unparenthood executives openly expressing their willingness to sell the body parts of unborn babies so they could buy “Lamborghinis”, I didn’t doubt for a second that Planned Unparenthood was a nefarious organization whose sole business was to make money through aborting unborn human babies. Being able to profit from the sale of the resulting body parts was simply icing on the cake. I also knew of the connection to Sanger and her purpose in setting up Planned Unparenthood to euthanize and otherwise dispose of undesirable examples of humanity, I. e. anyone she didn’t approve of. Sorta like the Nazis, eh? Being a reasonable human being I concluded from the reporting of these tapes on the news that Planned Unparenthood was an abhorrent organization and not ever to be trusted. Like Hillary and Bill and Barack, the truth is not in them. So when I see the indictment that has come from the Houston grand jury with the prosecutor being on the board of directors of Planned Unparenthood, I see it for what it is to anyone with a brain that can think with logic, as being purely politically motivated. By your comments you obviously believe in and support Planned Unparenthood in their agenda. Well, I don’t care what your politics or religion happen to be, or whether you agree with me or not. But I tell you this, that God would prefer that you believe in Him and obey His laws (especially the one about not killing), however your choice not to do so is yours alone, and will have consequences perhaps you will not like. Me, I have a clear conscience.

          6. Cotton says

Bible thumpers are not reasonable people, you are even less reasonable for believing in such a scandal. Your conscious is filled with delusion. Try again wingnut troll.

          7. Richard Walker says

OK dildo. Let me hear your explanation of how we got here. Evolution? Yeah, the universe is running backwards, that’s all that theory asks me to believe. Perhaps a course in Physics, with emphasis on the LAWS of thermodynamics could illuminate things for you. Have you ever studied biology, or microbiology? I have. If you had, you would perhaps understand that the complexity that is exhibited by life could not be an accident that just happened to evolve from some primeval ooze. Of course, believing in such nonsense negates a need to believe in any God that one may one day have to answer to, and allows the “anything goes” behavior, such as killing babies in the womb. This leaves Creation as the only other explanation for existence if you are using logic. Something your brain doesn’t seem to be capable of. Oh, I think the only wingnut troll here is you, since you seem to be nothing more that a liberal “tool”.

          8. Cotton says

You must be believe the Earth is 6000 years old too! Also please look up what a wingnut actually is!

          9. Richard Walker says

I know that according to some people that calculate the generations in the Bible the conclusion that some 6000 years have passed since creation. Perhaps they are leaving out that for God a day can be as long as He says it is. Limiting your thinking to purely human terms can severely restrict your ability to “think outside the box”, or in your case the ability to think at all.

          10. Cotton says

            Says the hardcore Bible Thumper..

          11. Richard Walker says

I read here that you call yourself a “compassionate Christian”. You are worse than delusional sunshine, because no Christian would be OK with what Planned Unparenthood does. I am certainly NOT a hardcore Bible thumper, but I believe that it is the divinely inspired word of God and what is in it is the same as God talking to us. I also do not force my belief on others. In my world (and Gods), you are free to believe whatever your heart desires, however, do be aware that actions have consequences. You believe that it is OK to kill babies in the womb and I believe that such a belief will result in your spending eternity in a very hot and uncomfortable place. You will be known by the fruits of your labor.

In fact; I believe most of the problems America and the world now face, are partially due to it’s proclivity of shedding the blood of the innocent!!!

Reread this article. Someone in P.P. was fined for selling body parts. Now that’s an oxymoron. So why wasn’t P.P. fined because their employee was caught selling body parts? That Judge was biased or paid under the table by P.P. to rule as he did.

There is so much corruption going on in our Society every day that even people like you can’t see what is wrong with this picture. Corruption, immorality, greed…the way all societies die.

Unless people monitor what is really happening to innocents (for these babies cannot speak for themselves and tell the real truths), Society fragments and those innocents become the stains on our Souls…then our Souls turn Black and Darkness rules our World. With P.P. our Society is half way to the Dark side.

KARMA isn’t supernatural. It’s life correcting itself and there will be a great awakening after KARMA is experienced. It needs to happen soon…

glenn; that is exactly what obummer care was supposed to set up, thankfully, enough people saw through the program to start actions to repeal it!

          28. Cotton says

You shouldn’the give any articles credit on here. As it seems only delusional people like you read them.

          29. GuardianFlame says

You should get some education then we can talk. Oh, wrong. The planet you come from doesn’t speak English…just gibberish. Nice try though. Try us on a different day when there’s a solar flare, maybe communication would be better then.

          30. Cotton says

Now you are talking about aliens? You are way to far out there, friend. Take off the tin-foil hat.

          31. Michael Dennewitz says

Hey moron!! Pray it happens to someone close to you!! Then we’ll see what tune you’re singing!!!

          32. Cotton says

Winners win, losers lose, even bigger losers whine about it. In your case you curse the winner, which is too sad for words. I truly pity you.

          33. phil says

Why do I have to pay for you not keeping it your sneaker?

          34. phil says

I don’t want any of my taxes funding this entity. PP should be able to survive on its own, or sink.
the video kind of indicated otherwise. Not to mention the cavilier attitude in the tone. Sick people at the very least.

          35. Cotton says

They are not a business, they are a non-profit organization.

          36. phil says

Only because federal tax dollars are involved.

          37. Cotton says

Only because they do not make a profit.

          38. phil says

Why do liberals need to let the world know just how stupid you are?
No profit is needed because WE THE PEOPLE are funding this mess.

          39. Cotton says

I bring up the point because so many foolish people think they are making profit. Calm down there.

          40. Eleanor Cummings says

If enough people ignore Cotton, he’ll go away. This troll is probably a liberal democRAT who gets on sites to try to start folks arguing with him (or her) which is just his form of idiotic entertainment. I don’t even answer these people once I realize that’s their game. Too much of a waste of my time to read blathering nonsense. Once I see the name in my emails, I just delete it – Unread

          41. glenn398 says

            They lied about what?

          42. Cotton says

“Those indicted used aliases, obtained fake government identifications and formed a fake tissue procurement company to gain access to private areas and record private conversations to be deceptively edited.” How about they lied their way in and lied all the way out until they lost?

          43. Richard Walker says

So all spies throughout history should be indicted by the Houston grand jury for using deception to get information, huh? You seem, like the grand jury, to be more concerned about the methods used by the investigators/reporters than the information they uncovered, i.e., the sale of aborted HUMAN body parts for profit. If Planned Unparenthood is so blameless why were they so willing to enter into agreements to sell these body parts?

          44. Cotton says

I guess you have never heard of fetal tissue research and what it has done for society, but then again, I can’t expect much from some Bible Thumper voluntarily living in his own shell.

          45. Richard Walker says

Yes Cotton, having studied Microbiology (and Physics) at university I have some knowledge of such things. I also know that such studies were favored by Ms. Sanger and the Nazis, among others. In reality there is actually no requirement to use fetal tissue, since each human being has stem cells residing in his own body and those actually make better study subjects. Me, I would NOT be OK with research using aborted (killed) babies to provide whatever comes out of such research. Sometimes “Dude”, the end does NOT justify the means. And I do not live in a shell, sport, I have for sure seen more of this world than you have yet to imagine. Unless of course you were a corporate pilot living and working overseas for 22 years like me, flying billionaires around wherever they wanted to go.

          46. bandit says

Have you been stupid all your life ?

          47. Cotton says

            Go away troll.

          48. bandit says

            F#€k off drone .

          49. Eleanor Cummings says

Hey bandit, you can’t get through to a liberal democrat troll. If enough people ignore Cotton, he’ll go away. This troll gets on sites to try to start folks arguing with him (or her) which is just his form of idiotic entertainment. I don’t even answer these people once I realize that’s their game. Too much of a waste of my time to read blathering nonsense. Once I see the name in my emails, I just delete it – Unread

          50. Watchman says

You are aiding and abetting in the murder of children and that makes you just as accountable to God and you will stand before him one day sooner or later and whether or not you believe it . And the fact that you quote Karma proves by your own mouth you know

        2. Eleanor Cummings says

So here we are with Cotton again.

          1. GuardianFlame says

Thanks Eleanor for the tip. I’ve been blogging since 2007 and recognize these trolls under the bridge. Sometimes it’s just fun to poke them a little and see.if they bleed…most do not. Just empty shells with nothing inside! But thanks for the tip!

          2. Eleanor Cummings says

Yes, also Katie Swann and Reality Check

          3. GuardianFlame says

Yes, I’ve already gone head to head with Realitycheck. I call him realitydude or FantasyDude, etc. He finally just gives up because I can be rather long winded. But he is definitely a “doofus dude” and just likes to argue abt anything…an antagonist. Delusional and arrogant fits that troll for sure.

Haven’t dealt with ms swann…probably will eventually.

Thanks for the tips abt those two. I look forward to our next word debate – may the “Force” be with us, Eleanor – as my grandson says! 🙂

      3. Azabigail1 says

        It will turn around.

      4. glenn398 says

Please explain as what these two did was show the illegal activities of P.P and I fail to see what either of the two did wrong. You can twist it anyway you want but all those two did was prove what P.P. was doing and nothing more.

        1. Cotton says

Once again, P.P. was never doing any illegal activities. The only ones twisting the truth was the Center of Medical “Progress” through their deceptive editing practices and obvious agenda.

          1. glenn398 says

You can call it anything you want when you are selling body parts especially the way they did it there should have been charges against P.P. It is about the same as they are saying Hillary did nothing wrong.

          2. Cotton says

Strange how people just complain about “selling body parts” while at the same time not realizing all the good things fetal tissue research has given us. How do you think we got the vaccines for polio, rubella, mumps, measles, hepatitis and chickenpox?

          3. glenn398 says

I can tell you for a fact they didn’t get it using body parts and especially didn’t let babies stay alive so the body parts were fresh.

          4. Cotton says

Scientists say fetal tissue remains essential for vaccines and developing treatments:

          5. glenn398 says

I know what they say today but also know if you had used fetal tissue back in the 40’s and 50’s they would have hung you

          6. Cotton says

We don’t live in such a time anymore.

          7. glenn398 says

I know that is why this country has gone downhill from what it used to be. Back then we had now crime rate, drug use and people actually got married and formed a family.

          8. Cotton says

Back during the good times of segregation, war, and fear of nuclear fallout (cold war).

          9. glenn398 says

Segregation was way over played, yes the south was a problem but where I lived in Wis. there was no such thing. Matter of fact the country schools were being sold off as the kids were being bused into the city. The country schools were then sold and the people turned them into homes. A black woman moved into one of them with her 12 kids and of course no husband. The city said she shouldn’t have to be out in the country as her kids had to ride the bus everyday so we paid to move her and the kids into the city. Now all the country kids had to ride the bus everyday so why they felt it was hard on the black kids and not all kids was beyond me. So don’t try to make it look like it was a nation wide problem as it wasn’t. It was the white people that freed the slaves and if they had wanted slaves blacks would still be slaves today.

          10. Cotton says

Because the Jim Crow Laws were no big deal huh? I am getting a large sense of BS from you.

          11. glenn398 says

Same from you as you are trying to state that it was the same all over the country and it wasn’t and you know it.

          12. Cotton says

So tell me then, were the Jim Crows Laws no big deal? Was segregation only present in the south?

          13. glenn398 says

Why don’t you quit crying and try living in the present because if we wanted to keep blacks as slaves you would still be a slave. The real slaves of today is the white tax payer that has to support most of the worthless blacks and that percentage is very large. So keep building your ghetto’s, breeding like rabbits, refusing to be a father and blame all your troubles on the white man. If it is so great for your kind go back to your African homeland and enjoy yourself, wait they don’t pay welfare there and you would starve to death.

          14. Cotton says

I’m glad you showed your true self, thanks for sharing.

          15. glenn398 says

Which part can you disagree with, let me know

      5. Mike Albertone says

So, if they were guilty of buying human organs, who was guilty of selling them? Secondly, why is the official charge, buying of “human” organs? If it is a “human” then killing it is murder.

        1. Cotton says

The moron got that charge because he had offered to buy in an attempt to provoke Planned Parenthood employees into saying they would sell. I don’t care about your “moral” stance on it.

          1. Mike Albertone says

So, in other words you refuse to answer the question? And, by the way, it is not only immoral, but illegal to kill a human being. The argument used in legalizing abortion was that it was not a human being. I am just pointing out the inconsistency in the law.

          2. glenn398 says

Mike give up there is no way you can make any headway with cotton, he is about as far liberal left as you can get. Anything the right or republicans do is totally wrong.

          3. Deby says

this ridiculous indictment crap is purely political and designed to put the scandal down much like it was done in the Benghazi hearings-the libtards pick and choose what they decide to-end of story. If there was “illegal” attempts to buy, then the sellers would be selling illegally as well brainiac. not too bright are ya libbie?

          4. Cotton says

The entire thing was political in the first place. It was meant to be right when those videos came out.

          6. glenn398 says

It doesn’t seem those type of people ever go away no matter what.

          7. alfred says

Yes your on target that’s right its like this morning on npr radio talking and being allowed to go on about his gay man loving as it is called come on aint npr got anything worthwhile to annouce other than how some gay put his arm around the other its over the top and they just keep it up about the things they are proud of i just agree with your comment on the abortion thing it is so injust we do live in a very gross socialistic society i hate to admit its heading downward out of countrol fast

        2. Eleanor Cummings says

Aha, here’s that chain-pulling troll Cotton again.

      6. Deby says

        Harris County-99% liberal.

      7. glenn398 says

Yes with a stacked grand jury can understand why there was no evidence uncovered.

        1. Cotton says

It looks like your own biases are getting in the way of your thinking. The grand jury does not gather the evidence either.

          1. glenn398 says

They are the one’s that make the decision to prosecute

    2. Jimmy Quick says

US courts are no longer a place where justice can be found. They are the criminals. It is time to start taking some actions to have these people removed from power.

      1. glenn398 says

This is what happens when the interests of the people are not represented by either party and that is what we have come to.

        1. Jimmy Quick says

Our leaders are so removed from the reality of our day to day struggles that lying to us means little or nothing to them. That is why I am voting for Donald Trump. He is a business person who has been up and down just like the rest of us. When he says something like, “I can get along with Pelosi” he really means he can crush her anytime he wants and when he says he can get along with Putin, he means that he knows how to beat him at his own game.

Don’t misread or misunderstand this highly talented man because that mistake will be at your own peril.

          1. glenn398 says

Without him all the issues that we face day to day would have never been brought up. It would have just been to same as all the past elections with nothing new brought forward. I would like to see a Trump/Cruz combination.

          2. Sara says

Me too-get Rand Paul in there too- they all have great minds and some deficiencies (nobody is perfect, no attack on them), but if they worked together, wouldn’t it be an epic time in history where great minds came together to counterbalance each other, not to be POTUS, but to save us. It would be monumental, something never done before and proof that all three are TRULY out to save us from the black hole were about to get sucked into. It would be proof that no one has his own agenda, but they’re together going to repair decades of damage, lies/broken trust, war crimes, unconstitutional laws and treaties, and restore our constitution/republic to what it once was for a too brief time. Nice to hear someone else throw that out and think outside the box. Once one wins, have two VP’s if you wish (in this election they’d have to promise it first since no such option is available yet). Or he can put them in his cabinet/advisor positions. Maybe there’s hope.

          3. glenn398 says

You mentioned Rand Paul and to me he was the one man I had hoped would be center stage. The man knows the issues, knows how to fix them and has the experience. Why the public as a whole couldn’t see this is beyond me but we just have to deal with the way the majority sees it. I like Trump because he brought up the issues that needed to be addressed. The problem I have with him is he wanders into areas that have nothing to do with the issues and am afraid he will be shooting himself in the foot.

          4. Sara says

Me too, and that’s why I think they should simply work together. Great minds and counterbalance-we all need to seek advice and information from others wisdom to make good decisions from time to time. Sadly people can’t see guys like Ron and Rand because they still trust mainstream media, are given disinformation, propaganda, and even though NOTHING MAKES SENSE, they won’t, can’t/don’t have time to investigate and find out why things make no sense. We cannot afford one more ounce of bs from a candidate. They’ve been distracted by the things meant to distract them (movie stars, movements calling for rights we already had rather than understanding the constitution and realizing they already had these rights and are getting them taken away more often than gaining them, this new racism, and division of people/ideas on every front that will not matter soon) were slowly brainwashed into extreme PC, demonization/extreme labeling slapped on any official or citizen who seeks/speak truth. I mean seriously, when vets who fought these cabinet wars are named the number one threat as “domestic terrorists”, anyone who believes this has lost their ever lovin’ MIND!!! Actually you gave me an idea. I’m going to write a piece/list of questions that every citizen of EVERY nation should know and learn before ever casting another vote for any local, state or federal candidate. Peace out.

          5. glenn398 says

You think along the same lines as I do but that is because you took the time to know the people and issues. To many that takes too much effort. As far as your test probably very few would be able to answer many of the questions.

          6. Sara says

It’s great to interact with a critical thinker and know there are others out there, so agree again. I’ll let you know when I submit it. You think this forum is good, or can you think of one with a more diverse group? It’ll be a good social experiment / learning experience for us and those who participate. If one can’t answer them, they shouldn’t cast one more uninformed vote unless they know the answers or take the time to learn. They won’t be left/right, opinion/belief system related questions-they’ll be questions that every citizen should know regarding rights, law, logic, and also maybe questions when admitting you don’t know is actually the corrct answer (provided you don’t have cosmic clearance or something to that effect- I was just as guilty of being uninformed having no clue how much/for how long we’ve been duped, trying to choose between the lesser of evils, but it’s to the point where anyone with a pulse should be able to see that NOTHING makes sense until you start looking and being able to admit you’ve been absolutely blindsided your entire life. Nearly all truth/logic has been INVERTED to appear as truth/reality. This should be really really fun.

          7. glenn398 says

I don’t think you will have a very large group that could pass a simple test or have a clue on what is going on. Example is when reporters go on the college campus and ask simple questions. Questions like show me on a world map where Dallas Texas is located and some pointed to south American and others pointed to other parts of the world.

          8. Sara says

Like Mark dice? lol-I’m going to try it anyway and see what happens. Was talking to my son last night (20-and acutely aware of the precarious cliff we are on-so are most of his friends which gives me hope-he has one friend who told me 3 years ago while they were drinking and smoking out in the garage that he wanted to be president. I didn’t know him well at the time, but I kinda laughed lovingly inside at this little charming teenage skate punk until I began talking to him and was shocked at his political, sociological and historical knowledge, and to this day discuss these things with him over 99% of older people because his insight/forethought is brilliant. No one would ever guess these young surf bums are so awake/eyes WIDE OPEN) about generations not knowing what life was like before. We’ve had these talks, but this one was about not knowing what you’re losing when you never had it. So keep it up, there is hope in his generation, but they didn’t make the mess and it’s unfair for all the fallout and weight of it to be on them. I know about 25 kids from 19-mid twenties who get it. I hope that its more widespread and far reaching outside our little demographic group.

          9. glenn398 says

We can hope they do and if enough don’t it is clear what kind of country they will be living in and it don’t look like anywhere I would want to live in the future.

          10. Sara says

I felt I had to take the time when nothing added up any more- I could no longer justify believing insanity. So I try for our kids. It’s hard enough for us to sort through having lived it for 4,5,6 or 7 decades- I cannot imagine leaving this for our kids to try to sort out while still maturing, navigating life, trying to study and make ends meet. My conscience won’t let me exit this world without doing whatever I can in that regard. The rabbit hole is too deep.

          11. glenn398 says

The trouble is as we loose our freedoms little by little each new generation of kids only can see what we have not what we have lost. So they have no clue what is happening to them and won’t until all is gone. This PC is raising havoc with freedoms and the youth of today think this policy is a good one.

          12. Jimmy Quick says

Maybe. I’d like to see if they can work together before making that call.

          13. glenn398 says

You have a good point but it seems like no one works together today for the well being of our nation anymore so can we do any worse.

          14. Jimmy Quick says

I can’t believe that men’s hearts have all turned to evil, but if that is so, then we have nothing worth saving anyway. I still love my God and my family. I may not be as educated as others or as smart, but I know the difference between good and evil and our government has become pure evil.

The USA is no longer the nation people from around the world dream of and are willing to fight and if necessary to die for, but this has become a place where the common citizen is tormented by the people that have empowered themselves to do so and it is time to take up sides against this enemy.

If we do not get a leader who will start to repair the damage caused by these evil people, then the only question that remains is how.

          15. glenn398 says

I think people like you with common sense is much more important than any high education. I also don’t think there is enough people left in this nation that cares what happens to it, just those that vote for what’s in it for me far out number those that care. Back in the 40’s and 50’s this nation was conservative and religious and people cared about this country. Today all that is gone and look at what we have in it’s place. Once this nation lost the under God way of life we are now no better than what you see in other nations. We became a great nation under God and are falling fast into the sewer now that we have left him.

          16. Jimmy Quick says

            I couldn’t agree more.

          17. glenn398 says

Johnson and Carter were well educated and both had a high I.Q. and look at what a disaster both were to this country.

          18. Jimmy Quick says

Both greedy men looking for a score.

          19. glenn398 says

Carter’s peanut farm was going bankrupt and his friends bailed him out, as governor of Georgia he left it deep in debt and yet we thought he was qualified to be president.

          20. Jimmy Quick says

I can’t believe anyone ever thought he was qualified and I’m gonna drop a big bomb here. I have proof that the social engineering that is so prevalent today was started under Carter and even bigger than that, Carter is still being paid by Iran every year, $165 + million dollars, just like clockwork for having allowed them to hold our kidnapped citizens until Reagan freed them.

It was all part of Carters plan to enrich OPEC with our (USA Owned) oil reserves, bought and paid for by our (yours and mine) tax dollars. Carter gave them away without a fight, to people who were at that time little more than a bunch of bedouin tribes, in exchange for his own personal enrichment.

Carter was the first modern traits president I can remember in my lifetime and his crimes still go unpunished to this day.

          21. glenn398 says

Today all you will read about Carter is what a wonderful man he is and they are trying to twist facts to try and show he was a very good president. In time as facts are twisted they will succeed. Like one liberal I was debating about Carter and he said Carter would have been a great president he just was elected at the wrong time. Now am still trying to figure that statement out as to the meaning. Maybe it means we should give him a second change to prove he could be a great president, like they say everyone deserves a second chance.

          22. Jimmy Quick says

I lived through Carter and trust me when I say, you don’t want to go through that again.

          23. glenn398 says

Of all the recession I have went thru was beginning to think we would never recover. It just kept get worse by the day and there seemed no end to it.

          24. Jimmy Quick says

            Agreed, and it’s getting worse.

          25. glenn398 says

If it wasn’t for the fact that those filling government contracts for the military have to be here in the U.S. don’t think we would have any manufacturing left. Besides that if we didn’t have such an excess of government workers our unemployment would be out of sight. If I remember correctly the repairs to the Bay bridge contract was won by a Chinese company.

Can you imagine what the job market would look like if Obama didn’t put so many on the government dole plus hiring so many government workers. He hasn’t produced any jobs and the $860 billion he was given for shovel ready jobs can’t even be accounted for, it just disappeared. With his open borders plus bring in hundreds of thousands from overseas the oversupply of people has greatly lower the wages.I know in 1973 when metro center was built construction wages were $20 an hour, thanks to all the illegals that same job pays $10 an hour.

And, too many voters are one issue voters. Heck the senior females are too old get pregnant.

        1. Jimmy Quick says

Yes, Steve, you know me so well, but the real question is, are you too old to get pregnant?

Okay, enough of fun for now. Why not read the Constitution of the United States of America just for fun, provided you can find the time, and you might notice that Judges have no rights whatsoever to make law. They are only empowered to meet out justice as is dictated through the law.

I don’t know of even one judge that is elected, but that doesn’t mean they are not. It only means I have never heard of it. With that bit of information one might gather that electing judges is not an issue you should ever bring up.

Then the way you jump immediately to pick on senior citizens, I am gonna guess you are pretty young and still have a lot to learn. In the future it might be considered wise to only post about things when you actually have a clue what you’re posting about.

      3. FearlessMo says

And what action do you think should replace truth and facts – using emotion and bias as a guide to a legal decision?

        1. Jimmy Quick says

Are you serious or just out of good ideas or maybe never had any good ideas? Do you even know what a good idea is? Not trying to be funny. I only want to establish a base line from which to start.

Facts that can’t be verified are not facts at all. They are assertions and in a court of law, should never even be allowed to be heard.

A jury of my pears would be a jury that starts out knowing that the system is rigged and just like a survey team that is paid to return the exact required outcome before any questions are ever written, the court system is corrupted and only the puppy public doesn’t have a clue.

I’ll give you an example to think about. How different would be the results in trial where the jury never saw the defendant or the plaintiff and never even knew in advance what trial they would be hearing. No voices are given to the jury but only transcripts and the jury was not pent up in some room together where they can use soft threats against one another to get an unjust verdict, but each juror must read the transcript in it’s entirety.

Once they are comfortable that they fully understand the case, they are give a brief 100 question, fill-in-the-blank competency test. This is not an open book test and a passing grade is required in order for that juror to be able to case a vote.

Once 12 jurors from somewhere in the USA pass the test and cast their vote, the verdict can be read in court.

This gets rid of all the b/s, the theatrics, the camera antics, the hidden jury moles, everything and all of the sudden the cops have to stop charging people who had nothing to do with the crime. Prosecutors have to start proving their case and people can once again be innocent until proven guilty and judges can suck a fat one until the jury gives up a just verdict.

Of course this si only a dream world because justice, taxes and now even health insurance are tools of an evil government to screw with the people they don’t like and you seem to be pretty pleased with that situation.

        2. glenn398 says

    1. MrSwingGuitar says

You can’t fire a grand jury…they’re not employees. They are concerned citizens, and generally prominent ones, who are empaneled much like other juries. This from the Handbook for Grand Jurors: The district judge (or, in a county in which there are several district
courts, the district judge designated for this purpose) appoints three
to five citizens of the county to be jury commissioners. They serve
either during the current term of court or during the succeeding term.
These commissioners select fifteen to twenty persons from the citizens
of the county to be summoned as grand jurors for the next term of court.
Commissioners must, to the extent possible, select grand jurors who
represent a broad cross-section of the population of the county,
considering the factors of race, sex, and age. All potential jurors must
meet certain other qualifications, including the ability to read and
write. When twelve qualified jurors are found to be present, the court
impanels them as a grand jury, with one juror appointed foreman. Before
the grand jury has been impaneled, however, any person may challenge the
entire jury or anyone presented as a grand juror. The term of the grand
jury is the same as that of the district court that organized it, with
some provision for extension at the judge’s discretion.

I heard it was 2-3%. 10% is BY FAR the largest proportion I’ve heard. And just because something is legal doesn’t make it right or moral.

        1. MrSwingGuitar says

I went with the HIGHEST number I saw, so as to not be accused of using biased figures. You are correct that something being legal doesn’t automatically make it right. After all, slavery used to be legal. Abortion is a complex moral issue, which partisans on both sides of the issue often fail to admit. Nevertheless, the business of the courts is to enforce law, and no one has come up with any breaches of the law committed by Planned Parenthood. People who confuse what their religion tells them with the law of the land miss the point of our civil government. If you disagree with statutes now in place, work to elect those who share your beliefs. Don’t act as though you get to decide how laws should or should not be enforced.

          1. PatriotForever says

Btw: question, there have been close to 50 million abortions/butcherings since Roe/Wade.
However lets just use 40million dead babies:
So you believe that Planned Parenthood has seen 400 million women, which is related to 10% being abortions. So, ONLY 40,000,000 innocent babies were murdered out of 400,000,000 visits?

          2. MrSwingGuitar says

So, if you indeed believe that, say, a zygote, a fertilized egg of a week’s duration, is a baby, you certainly are entitled to that opinion. That is not the law, as I’m sure you know. The overwhelming majority of abortions are performed in the first trimester of pregnancy. If you choose to view those fetuses as babies, you may do so. That is not the law, as I’m sure you know. The few late term abortions that occur tend to be performed because of drastic health risks to the pregnant woman if the pregnancy goes to term. You may choose to value the potential life of the embryo as more important than the life of the woman. That is not the law, as I’m sure you know. My guess is that you’re a male, and that it’s truly none of your damned business (nor is it mine) what a woman does with her body. When an embryo reaches the state of viability, the question becomes more complicated, but the courts have done their best to come to what they consider a fair solution. You, in your infinite wisdom, of course know far better than they.

          3. PatriotForever says

In relation to law and the penalties there of:
The Afluenza Defense allowed a 16 year old rich and entitled boy, to get away with Stealing, Driving Drunk, Speeding and then kill 4 people in the process and he got 10 years probation.
            Fair? The Law?
It used to be AGAINST the LAW to KILL a Child of any TERM, in the act of committing another crime. Now they are rewarded and people like you turn the other check and spew the law.
Well how’s this for the law:

            Eminent Domain. An example:
James Dupree bought a rundown warehouse 9 years ago, which at one time was a horse stable in Philadelphia, so he could convert it into an art studio. What he didn’t know was that the city was
going to use the power of eminent domain to take the property and convert the block where Dupree’s studio sits into to a high-end shopping area. The 64-year-old muralist and painter knew he would have to spend thousands of dollars to fix it up. He did and then the City claimed EMINENT Domain and TOOK IT, not paid for it but just TOOK IT. So, while the number of eminent domain cases are hard to pin down, according to experts, Dupree is part of what appears to be a growing caseload of homeowners and businesses facing the loss of their property over government seizures.

Government CONFISCATION and or the new and improved Martial Law:
How about the “LAW” that says it’s OK to “Confiscate” your Bank Accounts, even though you have never broken the LAW?:
Example: Let’s say you take out a safety deposit box for precious family heirlooms, or create a bank account for your children that you don’t make transactions with regularly. How long would it take you to realize that the government has actually confiscated your property, sometimes without even informing you? That’s what happened to Glenn Beck’s chief of staff, Joe Kerry, and countless other Americans across the United States, many of whom are unaware that the state can legally take hold of your possessions if your account shows no signs of activity for a certain period of time.
The person whose money has been seized isn’t necessarily guilty of anything. Hinders hasn’t been arrested, nor does there appear to be any sort of ongoing investigation. The IRS hasn’t hit Hinders with tax liens for unpaid taxes or subjected her to an audit. All it did was look at records for her deposits and decide that because none of them surpassed the $10,000 mark (which triggers automatic reporting), everything in the account must be somehow illegal.

It is true and appreciated that you too have every right to believe as you wish. However it is Interesting how your ILK picks and chooses what LAWS they Support and those they don’t and when pressed, fall back to the excuse “IT’S The LAW”

FYI: You wanted the laws changed and got it done. That doesn’t make it Moral nor Upright, nor just by way of the Pen. It just means there is more tolerance of sin in the camp.

Well, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander, however Conservatives and Christians tend to abide by what is Morally Just and Morally Upright and Fair, not based on which way the wind blows.

So the next time you get a ticket and try to fight it, or have your adult children or parents killed by an Afluenza driver, or have your bank accounts seized or your home fall under Eminent Domain: DO NOT COMPLAIN, because after all: ITS THE LAW

            Isiah 5:20

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! 21Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight!…

          4. MrSwingGuitar says

The jerk of a teenager with the “affluenza” defense got a slap on the wrist, presumably because his parents were rich and the judge was a jerk. The way American jurisprudence is set up, you cannot INCREASE the sentence given to a defendant unless the judge made a legal error in sentencing. This is precisely to PROTECT citizens from punitive governmental actions. Of course, the idiot broke his probation terms, so with any luck he’ll be doing some hard time. I have spoken up against some laws that I consider unfair, and I have friends who have willingly gone to jail in protest of same. Eminent domain, to my mind is (while necessary in limited circumstances) often abused. Now, the thing to do is of course to elect people who will change the laws governing this. I am quite certain, however that NO portion of this country has an eminent domain statute that allows seizure of property with no compensation. If you wish to provide evidence that this occurred, I would be most interested to know about it…my guess is that you were misinformed on this. Of course, if you try to elect people who wish to prohibit ALL abortion regardless of the circumstances, you’re not going to win a lot of electoral races. As to the article above, it’s absurd to think that an empaneled grand jury, coming across evidence of a crime, would not indict those committing the crime. The DA can still decide not to prosecute, or a jury can find them not guilty, if they are not. In other words, the story is nonsense. I know lots of people who are diametrically opposed to all abortions. That does not make them either better or worse persons than those with other views on this particularly thorny subject. As to your spiel about bank accounts, anyone who doesn’t know that a dormant bank account will be eventually turned over to the state is perhaps not to be trusted to handle their own financial affairs. I’ve known that since I was 13, and I’m no financial wizard. p.s. who is “Hinders’? It looks like you cut and pasted from some article, but left out the gist of what was going on.

          5. PatriotForever says

Eminent domain abuse violates private property rights – By Rep. Tom Reed (R-N.Y.)

Since our country was founded, private property has served as a cornerstone of our freedoms. The constitutional right to private property is based on the principle that government should not unreasonably interfere with the use of one’s property.

In the Declaration of Colonial Rights, the First Continental Congress explicitly stated that, “[Americans] are entitled to life, liberty, and property, and they have never ceded to
any sovereign power … a right to dispose of either without their consent.”
This served as the foundation for the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which states, “No person shall be deprived of … property, without due process of law.” This provision, known as the Takings Clause, protects citizens from unreasonable government seizure of private property.
The government has repeatedly cited the Takings Clause as justification for taking private property without the landowner’s consent. Although this practice, known as “eminent domain,” has occurred since the early days of our country, the government had been restricted from taking private property except when required for the public good, such as building a fort during a time of war.
However, a Supreme Court decision in 2005 severally undermined the protections afforded by the Takings Clause and greatly expanded the government’s power to seize private property.
In Kelo v. City of New London, the Supreme Court held that “economic development” constituted a “public use” that justified the taking of private property through eminent domain. According to this decision, the government can utilize eminent domain to seize your property whenever the government deems it necessary for “economic development.”

Consider the implications of this decision:
If the government decides to undertake an “economic development” project, the government can seize your family-owned farm and sell the property to a private developer to build a new factory.
In the dissenting opinion to the Kelo decision, Justice Sandra Day O’Connor warned that this expansion of the Takings Clause subverted the constitutional limitation on the government’s power: “Under the banner of economic development, all private property is vulnerable to being taken and transferred to another private owner.”

Is this not what our Founding Fathers had in mind when they drafted the Fifth Amendment.

The Kelo decision is based on the premise that “Big Government” is more capable of
determining what serves the best interest of local landowners than the landowners themselves. To understand the flaws of this perspective, look no further than New London, Conn.: the city confiscated Ms. Kelo’s home so that a pharmaceutical corporation could build a new facility. The city claimed that seizing this property under eminent domain was
necessary to complete a “redevelopment project.”

Today, 10 years after the Kelo decision, the property where Ms. Kelo’s home once stood is a vacant and desolate lot. After spending millions of dollars of taxpayer money and forcing several hard-working families from their homes, this economic development plan was a complete failure. The abandoned 90-acre lot in the heart of New London is a chilling example of the danger posed by government overreach and intrusion into the lives of American citizens.

As illustrated by this example, the power to take property through eminent domain is frequently abused by the government for unnecessary and unreasonable purposes. This practice harms landowners by forcing them to expend their valuable resources (through expensive legal proceedings) to simply keep the property they have owned for decades. This is inherently unfair to hard-working Americans.

Eminent domain takings are especially concerning in the context of “urban renewal.”
According to Ilya Somin, law professor at George Mason University and adjunct scholar at the Cato Institute, transferring property to private interests (for “economic development”) tends to “victimize the poor, racial minorities, and the politically weak.” Mr. Somin points out that eminent domain takings “disproportionately occur in poor and minority neighborhoods,” which inflicts “great harm” on the individual landowners and their communities.
I care about the rights of landowners. The constitutional right to private property must be defended. That is why I created the Private Property Rights Caucus and introduced the Defense of Property Rights Act.
The Private Property Rights Caucus provides a platform to educate members of Congress on the importance of property rights, demonstrate how landowners across the country are being adversely affected by government action, and discuss practical solutions to protect the constitutional rights of property owners.

The Defense of Property Rights Act provides a practical solution. This legislation protects landowners by creating a safeguard against unfair and unreasonable government actions that violate their property rights. This provides citizens with an opportunity to seek redress in federal court when government action significantly impairs the value of their property or unreasonably restricts the use of their property.

As Americans, we must not be complacent when the government infringes on our individual liberties and restricts our constitutional rights; we must ensure that government is kept in check and does not overreach the limitations placed on its power. The Defense of Property Rights Act is an important and necessary step toward achieving that objective and keeping government in its proper place. That serves the interests of the people rather than the interests of “Big Government.”

Reed has served as a representative of New York since 2010 and is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee. He is chairman of the Private Property Rights Caucus.

This post is the print equivalent of a filibuster. Meanwhile you’ve STILL neglected to tell me when you believe a human life begins. It’s a simple question: Right at conception? When a fetus becomes viable outside the womb? Or perhaps, when YOU decide it is?

          9. Effenexes says

…and a partridge in a pear tree. Your long winded fall back on the law and nothing but the law, may be superficially pleasing to some, but when it comes to a living entity, it lacks real merit. When plant or animal has life, it is by definition a living thing until it is unceremoniously destroyed. When a woman gets pregnant what does she think she is going to have…a rock? She certainly will not tell you she is going to have a fetus. Keep guessing and insulting everyone in your reply’s. We understand.

          10. MrSwingGuitar says

You need some schooling in forensics. First of all, the law is what is in question in this story, not your particular version of morality. Whether I agreed with you on the question of abortion or not, to argue that a grand jury discovering illegal activity should NOT indict the perpetrators because you like their stance on the issue, is particularly absurd. Now, as to your last, is an acorn an oak tree? It has the potential of becoming one, but it would be folly to say it already is one. You maintain, I believe, that all abortion is murder. Does that include, say, the “morning after pill”? After all, there’s already a fertilized egg. If you DO think that egg is already a human being, then you’re at odds with the vast majority of the American populace. If you DON’T, then the question remains when it becomes human. I don’t know the current figures, but quite a large majority of Americans believe that late term abortions should only be allowed when the health of the pregnant woman is at great risk should the pregnancy go to term. That would seem to indicate that you would have lots of company if you cast your lot there. From what you’ve said above, however, it sounds like you think that an abortion at, say, five weeks is murdering a human. Both our courts and popular opinion find your logic wanting there. Naturally, this being a free country, you can have that opinion. You can promulgate it to your heart’s content. Attempting to force everyone else to live by your unscientific doctrine, however, is contrary to both current law and good sense. p.s. you meant “replies”, not “reply’s”.

            Woman and the New Race,
            (2) ch. 6: “The Wickedness of Creating Large Families.” Here, Sanger argues
that, because the conditions of large families tend to involve poverty
and illness, it is better for everyone involved if a child’s life is snuffed out before he or she has a chance to pose difficulties to its family.

            (3) We should apply a stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is tainted, or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring.

            (9) We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.

            Pivot of Civilization, 1922.
Here, Margaret Sanger speaks on her eugenic philosophy – that only the
types of “quality” people she and her peers viewed as worthy of life should be allowed to live.
            (13) Such parents swell the pathetic ranks of the unemployed. Feeble-mindedness perpetuates itself from the ranks of those who are blandly indifferent to their racial responsibilities. And it is largely this type of humanity we are now drawing upon to populate our world for the generations to come. In this orgy of multiplying and replenishing the earth, this type is pari passu multiplying and perpetuating those direst evils in which we must, if civilization is to survive, extirpate by the very roots.

            (14) The Need for Birth Control in America (quoted by Angela Franks.)
Women of the working class, especially wage workers, should not have more than two children at most. The average working man can support no more and the average working woman can take care of no more in decent fashion.

          12. MrSwingGuitar says

What exactly is your point? It’s news to no one that Sanger embraced eugenics, which is a disgusting sham. She also campaigned long and hard for making birth control available to everyone that wanted it. Add to that the fact that she’s been dead for 50 years, and in fact was dead before Planned Parenthood started providing abortions. It amazes me that it’s very often the same people who protest loudly when anything is blamed on a previous Republican administration that insists on nonsense such as your message above, as well as insisting that the Democratic party is “the party of racists” because, 150 years ago, it was true.

          13. PatriotForever says

Mr.S, my comment has ZERO to do with REPUBLICANS and every thing to do with Character and Integrity. That is my point.
My additional point is: The Progressive movement hates accountability and or responsibility and want zero morality.
FYI Mr. S: Life has consequence, choices have consequences and when a person cares so little about life, well it speaks to a myriad of other heart and mental issues.
Sadly, this activity is a sowing that has turned out not to be so welcomed by many who chose it and reaped it.
As for Republicans, I was not big on the majority of them and your point is?
In addition to my “Republican” comment: Democrats are absolutely into slavery, because for them it doesn’t matter the color of ones skin, as long as you can control them
OH and BTW: That NONSENSE as you called it and POINTED OUT – was from your hero/heroine, your white Progressive racist, not from a conservative.
You don’t even have enough morality to be shamed by your own hate and indifference. Interesting how that works

          14. MrSwingGuitar says

You never answered my question about when you believe that human life begins. Being as your last message was pretty much incomprehensible (have you had a bit too much to drink tonight?), let’s get back to that important question. Do you believe that human life begins at conception, and thus the morning after pill is “murder”? there is no way you can look at a fertilized egg and say that it’s already a human from any scientific standpoint. So, an acorn can become a mighty oak, but it sure as hell isn’t one. If you DON’T think that as soon as a sperm reaches an egg a human comes into existence, then really the only question is when that does occur. Reasoning people can have different opinions of this. The courts of this land have attempted to come up with a rational solution. If you disagree with their idea, that is your right. It does not, however, make early term abortion murder, either in the eyes of the law or to the majority of our population. I would suggest that if you feel all abortion is murder that you refrain from having one.

          15. PatriotForever says

Your inability to comprehend is your problem, but as the progressive you are, Blame and Deflect is the name of the game.
I don’t drink, do drugs nor put up with mockers. Outside of that I will get back with you in the morning as to what my views are about “When Life Begins”

          16. PatriotForever says

Things are pretty simple MSG and yet you want to complicate them with minutia and baffle people withbulshite.
With all living things, all creation: LIFE STARTS AT CONCEPTION, otherwise it isn’t life.
If a living thing were not in the process of some form of LIFE, it would be dead, not living, active and LIFELESS.
When is a person dead MSG?
When a person looks at a seed do they see a plant?
Here’s another CUT and Paste for you:
Frogs and Toads tend to lay many many eggs
because there are many hazards between fertalization and full grown
Those eggs that die tend to turn white or opaque. The lucky ones that
actually manage to hatch still start out on a journey of many perils.

Life starts right as the central yolk splits in two. It then divides into four, then eight, etc.- until
it looks a bit like a rasberry inside a jello cup. Soon, the embryo starts to look more and more like a
tadpole, getting longer and moving about in it’s egg.
Now if LIFE STARTS at FETILIZATION and it’s good enough for frogs, it’s good enough for humans.
Additional point: Are sperm and eggs alive?
If they are, the point here is: THERE IS LIFE, You are killing and taking life and no matter how much lipstik you try to put on it and make it something else it is LIFE.

          17. MrSwingGuitar says

You still didn’t really answer my question. If one agrees that yes, a fetus is alive, a sperm is alive, an unfertilized egg is alive (all of which are undoubtedly true), it does not follow that each of these is a human life. No sane person would argue that it’s murder to cut off your little finger, though it’s certainly alive. A some point, a point that is open to much discussion, a fertilized egg becomes a human being. So a living sperm and a living egg combine, creating a zygote. You can certainly believe, if you’re of a religious nature, that at that instant God imbues it with a human soul. That is not science in the slightest, and the laws of the country cannot be based on your religion. Most scientists that I know of would assert that you might be able to call an embryo human when it can survive (breathe, take nutrition, etc.) outside the womb. Modern science has made that possible at an earlier point in a pregnancy that was true even 50 years ago, but it’s most certainly not true of that fertilized egg, that zygote, that fetus or the embryo up to a certain point in time. If your religion is Jainism, you might be able to pull off the “reverence for life” schtick. If you eat meat or fish, believe in capital punishment, etc. then it’s not the taking of life to which you object, but to what you define as innocent human life. There is no human life in that zygote, merely the potential of it becoming such. Unless you want to call masturbation murder as well, the fact that living tissue ceases to live isn’t killing a human until it actually IS a human.

          18. PatriotForever says

Blah blah blah. Good gravy man or frankly I am beginning to think you are a woman, “What in the world is wrong with you?” Your denial is an aberration. Why? Because my answer to your question has been answered; WAS, IS, now has been again, i.e:
“With all living things, all creation: LIFE STARTS AT CONCEPTION, otherwise it isn’t life.”

OK, I can see there is still no recognition, or in your case “CONCEPTION” (pun intended) of what I stated, so let me try answering it another way: ((With all living things, all creation: LIFE STARTS AT CONCEPTION))

Alrighty then, I am sure that you’re are still avoiding the communication so I will try it one more time: (” LIFE STARTS AT CONCEPTION”)

Now: A pig is still a PIG despite how the progressives and yourself try to dress it up. You can rename a “Turd to read Dump, Excrement, Feces, Fecal, blah, blah, blah” However it is still shite”
In this particular case we are dealing with your constant deflection, by the use of semantics and you simply just stay as you mentioned in a filibuster stature, by avoiding the truth!

If you take away a life in the womb you are killing it.

In your case you are not just proud to carry the hatchet and stand up for those with scissors and suction tools, you are bent on denial and staying on the progressive merry go round, deny, deflect, dilute the truth.

You were given a free will by God, Christ and Their Holy Spirit. Do as you please, but the justification for your sin fly’s in the face of TRUTH.
Truth is not subjective other wise it wouldn’t be TRUTH, it would be named something else such as: Perspective, perception, experience, view, opinion. But TRUTH never changes and it is the same today as yesterday.

          19. MrSwingGuitar says

Okay, I’m truly too tired of you either not understanding a thing I’m saying or acting as if that’s the case. The question, for about the 10th time was when does HUMAN life begin. No one would contradict that a sperm, an egg, the two of them together as a zygote, etc. are all living tissue. Even you would (I believe) concede that the unfertilized egg is not a human, nor is the sperm. If you truly wish to take the unscientific view that, as soon as those two fuse together, voila! it’s suddenly a human, even though it’s a tiny and almost undifferentiated clump of cells, you may do so, but don’t pretend that it’s a rational stance. Anyway, your lack of comprehension has become too boring to endure further. You’re clearly not interested in having a conversation about this topic, but would rather obfuscate and pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about. Have a lovely life.

          20. PatriotForever says

Sadly you are brain dead, spiritually deficient and void of embracing truth.
Good luck to you and now I know for certain you are a woman. I can see you as one or more of these:
mother bears, felines, canids, primates, and many species of rodents—from rats to prairie dogs—have all been seen killing and eating their young.
Insects, fish, amphibians, reptiles, and birds also have been implicated in killing, and sometimes devouring, the young of their own kind.

          21. MrSwingGuitar says

Well, folks there you go. This moron has come to the totally inaccurate but extremely telling conclusion that I’m a woman. This presumably because he finds me “spiritually dead and or grossly deficient and void of embracing truth”. In other words, in addition to being unable to discuss matters in a rational way, he’s also a complete misogynist. Why am I not surprised? It seems a large number of people who believe that pregnant women are “hosts” to babies (preferably male ones of course, we’ll leave the girls out on the hillside to die) rather than actual people. “PatriotForever” you’re DisgustingForever, and yet you think you represent some spiritual truth. You’re pitiful.

          22. PatriotForever says

Imagine that: you finally, finally read and embraced what I stated. Whoopee!
Well, praise God you have abandoned the string in your neck and that was worth the whole post.
You are a moron MSG, (which is in itself an irritant as a substance and now a person.)
You have managed too reduced the role of a Pregnant Mother, a Pregnant Woman to a simple word that you demeaningly use, to infer they are like a suitcase or a test tube.
Shame is on you and yes you are absolutely a woman and there, they do have it.
Pitiful is your mindset and hardened heart. That is pitiful and frankly inhuman.
Oh and don’t flatter yourself as if anyone cares about your diatribe

          23. PatriotForever says

IF, Operative word here “IF” the Egg and the Sperm are alive and they come from a creature, and they FERTILIZE and are joined as one, that is absolutely when LIFE BEGINS.
If it is a sperm from a male and an egg from a female homosapien, then what they and God have given life too is KNOWN AS a HUMAN Child.
It’s clearly not an animal or a reptile, so YES, YES, YES it is a HUMAN CHILD.
Tell me oh brilliant one what is the difference between a newborn growing and a FERTILIZED EGG Growing and becoming large and changing and maturing.
I am assuming you are a Big Bang Theory supporter. Did life begin in the swamp or by two cells coming together? So how did each evolution happen if life wasn’t created at each evolutionary junction?
You just have zero ability to take it to the smallest denominator.
First I absolutely do not believe in the Big Bang Theory and believe in Creationism as I believe in God, Christ and their Holy Spirit.
Then I believe that all things were made to mate with their own likeness.
I also believe when a sperm and an egg come together that LIFE at that moment for the CHILD Begins, because we have already identified and agreed and established that THEY MUST BE ALIVE SEPARATELY, in order to meld, come together in order to create the Child that has a beating heart: A baby’s heart starts beating 18 days from conception. It starts beating
at about 3-4 weeks, you won’t hear it until around 8 weeks. I had an
ultra sound when I was five weeks and five days. Heard the heart beat loud and clear.
Oh and allow me, since all stages of maturity are marked by names and titles: Adolescence, Teenager, Young Adult, Adult, Senior, do any of this steps in maturity disqualify them as being human and alive?
The process of life begins in the womb and by the sperm and the egg.

From the moment of conception to the time of delivery, your growing baby goes through several stages of development before he or she is ready to be born. Here’s what happens during the first trimester of pregnancy.

            When does pregnancy begin?
Pregnancy begins when a sperm fertilizes a woman’s egg. Since you don’t always know when fertilization happened, doctors calculate pregnancy based on the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). Your doctor will count forward 40 weeks from the LMP to estimate your due date (most births occur between weeks 38 and 42). If you have an ultrasound to look at your developing baby early in your pregnancy, your doctor may measure the baby to determine your due date instead.

What happens after the sperm fertilizes the egg?
After conception, your baby begins a period of dramatic change known as the embryonic stage. This stage runs from the 5th through the 10th week of the first trimester of pregnancy. During this stage, the baby is called an embryo.

What changes occur during the embryonic stage?
During this stage, all of your baby’s major organs and body parts begin to develop. The cells of the embryo (called embryonic stem cells) multiply and change into the hundreds of different types of cells needed to make a whole human body.
The placenta also develops during the embryonic stage. The placenta takes nutrients, oxygen and water from your blood and passes these along to your baby through the umbilical cord. It also removes the baby’s wastes. The placenta will filter out some—but not all— of the harmful substances that may be present in your body.

The amniotic sac develops during this stage, as well. This sac is filled with amniotic fluid, and forms inside your uterus to surround and protect your baby.

Some of the highlights of your baby’s development during the embryonic stage include:
Nervous system. This is one of the first things to develop during the embryonic stage. This means your baby’s brain, spinal cord and nerves form during this stage.

Heart. An S-shaped tube forms on the front of the embryo. This will become your baby’s heart. At first the heart does not beat, but soon it starts beating and pumping an early form of blood.

Face. Your baby’s facial features take shape during the embryonic stage. The eyes and ears form on the sides of the head and are linked to the brain. The eyes move forward on the face, and eyelids form to protect the developing eyes. Pieces of tissue grow and join together to create the forehead, nose, cheeks, lips and jaw. The nasal passages, mouth, tooth buds for the baby’s first teeth, and a tongue with taste buds also develop.

Arms and legs. At first, your baby’s arms and legs begin as little buds sprouting from the embryo’s sides. As they grow, the arms look like paddles and the legs like flippers. A ridge appears on the end of each one, eventually becoming fingers and toes.

Sexual organs. Cells that will become your baby’s eggs or sperm form. Your baby’s penis or vagina is visible at the end of the embryonic period, but it’s not yet possible to tell on an ultrasound if your baby is a girl or a boy.

Muscles and movement. Muscles develop and the embryo begins to move. At first it’s only twitching and reacting to touch. Once the nerves and muscles start working together, your baby can start moving on purpose.

By the end of the embryonic stage at week 10, the embryo will be about 1 inch long. That’s still too small for you to feel your baby’s movements. You’ll probably feel them starting in the middle of the second trimester.

What happens after the embryonic stage?
After the embryonic stage, the fetal stage begins and your baby is called a fetus. During the fetal stage, which runs from the 11th week until birth, your baby will grow longer and gain weight fast, and organs and body parts will continue to develop.

The last 2 weeks of the first trimester are the beginning of the fetal stage. In those weeks, fingernails and toenails form and the kidneys start working. By the end of the 12th week, which is the end of the first trimester, your baby has tripled in length to about 3 inches

Now, I, we watched my homes being built. They start with a piece of land, a plan, permits and a foundation laid over plumbing. Then the bones of the skeleton went up, then rafters go on, and a variety of other things happen such as Electrical, Drywall, Cabinetry, Flooring, Fixtures. Then the details of the aesthetics come into play. All the while we saw the various levels of the process, and we, I saw our HOME being built.

You are the person who says that’s just nonsense. No, that’s the PROCESS, just like watching them once they are born. They are still dependent on others, but they are still a CHILD, still life and were when they were created in the womb despite the desire of yours to snuff, stab and suck them out.

What’s the sense in your Planned Parenthood misleading statistics? The real statistics are nearly 30% in 2015, a 4% decline. If you are insisting on being an apologist for the organization your insult for ones opinion is without merit. So far no one other than yourself at 10%, in your opinion is educated.

        1. MrSwingGuitar says

“The real statistics”…great, where did they come from? I would imagine that Planned Parenthood would know what the correct number would be, so I trust your source has access to their records and can provide a link to same. Of course, if you’re just making this nonsense up….

“Surely the fact that a Planned Parenthood board member works for the Harris County DA has nothing to do with what has transpired.”
Nothing more needs to be said about this DA fishing expedition. Typical liberal modus operandi like when Planned Parenthood’s criminal activity is exposed, disingenuously turn turn the tables around and make others the defender by salacious slander and innuendo. Their slaughter of innocents is motivated by the government cash cow they continue to milk for all it’s worth. That is their only Plan regarding Parenthood.

    1. MrSwingGuitar says

There are so many misstatements in your screed above, it’s difficult to know which to address first. How about remembering that the Hyde amendment specifically forbids using federal funds for abortion. Governmental support for Planned Parenthood is limited to the 90% of it’s work that has NOTHING to do with abortions.

      1. Effenexes says

“Typical liberal modus operandi like when Planned Parenthood’s criminal activity is exposed, disingenuously turn turn the tables around and make others the defender by salacious slander and innuendo.”
If you consider that a diatribe as most liberals are want to do, so be it. Among others, I stand by my opinion as stated above.Your opinion is yours and I won’t categorize it as you seem to be doing. However, if Planned Parenthood doesn’t use the 500+ million (90%) and the 300+ million private donations on abortions what do they use it for…selling baby parts? Sarcasm perhaps, but the outfit still sanctions taking the life of the innocent.

        1. MrSwingGuitar says

The overwhelming majority of Planned Parenthood funds and time go towards counseling and birth control. Abortion is something PP would love to have become completely unnecessary. Reducing the number of (then illegal) abortions was a prime motivating factor in the establishment of PP. There was in fact a lengthy legal battle to make contraception legal in this country before PP could open their offices.

          1. Effenexes says

Ah yes…”look into the pewter pot and see the world as the world’s not.” As an obvious apologist for Planned parenthood, you even misconstrue the Hyde amendment’s official stipulations. As for your skewed observations, it comes down to,who’s Ox is being gored. The facts are that no one is able to know for sure just what the percentage is. 32, 653 abortions provided by Planned Parenthood, in one year, is a stunning number in anyone’s mind when it comes to protecting the life of the innocent. Planned Parenthood is sure making a lot of noises for funding if it serious in reducing the number of abortions making your assertion that Planned Parenthood would like abortion to become unnecessary.

          2. MrSwingGuitar says

Oh please do educate me on the ways in which the Hyde amendment allows federal funds to be spent on abortion, as I’m clearly uninformed on the subject. Your last sentence makes no sense whatsoever…if abortions were to become close to non-existent, it would require greater funding, particularly for education. This from factcheck. org on the percentage of PP services that are abortions:

Q: How much of Planned Parenthood’s services are dedicated to abortions? Does the federal government fund those procedures?

A: Abortions represent 3 percent of total services provided by Planned
Parenthood, and roughly 10 percent of its clients received an abortion.
The group does receive federal funding, but the money cannot be used
            for abortions by law.

debate in Congress, after Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl claimed this month on the
Senate floor that “well over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood
does” is provide abortion services. That figure was wildly incorrect.
Planned Parenthood says only 3 percent of its total services in 2009
were abortions. The other 97 percent of services were for
contraception, treatment and tests for sexually transmitted diseases,
cancer screenings, and other women’s health services.

          3. Effenexes says

Alright already. First stipulating that you must suffer from chronic nose bleeds for having your nose so high in the air from your self appointed superiority complicates things overall. That being said, please let this uneducated dumdum to enlighten you, something will be somewhat difficult considering your highly intellectual status.

In U.S. politics, the Hyde Amendment is a legislative provision barring the use of certain federal funds to pay for abortion unless the pregnancy arises from incest, rape, or to save the life of the mother.
The Hyde Amendment is not a permanent law, but rather is a “rider” that in various forms has been routinely attached to annual appropriations bills since 1976
Legislation including the Hyde Amendment generally only restricts the use of funds allocated for the Department of Health and Human Services and primarily affects Medicaid.
Besides, we can’t know the percentage of pregnant Planned Parenthood clients who had abortions if we don’t know how many clients were pregnant, indicates that no one knows how many that were pregnant had abortions.
That does indeed make everything else problematic thus making your 3% assumption specious at best

          4. MrSwingGuitar says

What earthly difference does it make if the Hyde amendment is renewed on a yearly basis or is a permanent piece of legislation? Is has been in effect constantly since 1976. Do you know of ANY sources of federal funding for Planned Parenthood other than through HHS? It would be bizarre if there were such. I’ve certainly never heard of any.

      2. Joseph says

Nice deceptive accounting trick by PP to get by the law, except that 90% of PP business is funding abortion. Without Federal money PP would not be able to subsidize their abortion business. They do not provide any other medical procedures. They do not have mammograms or any equipment except for the minimum needed to perform abortions. And they are the only clinic who is not required to follow the rules for minimum medical standards for outpatient surgical procedures. If I operated a medical clinic like PP I would be fined, shut down, have my license suspended and might face criminal charges.
Ask yourself, are you really ok with supporting killing innocent babies? Technology gives you the opportunity to see that the ‘fetus’ is not a poorly formed clump of cells, but a human being with a beating heart.

        1. MrSwingGuitar says

You believe the total nonsense you’re fed. Go look at the actual figures, if you have any interest whatsoever in honesty. Why would an establishment dedicated to family planning offer mammograms? They dispense birth control pills, IUDs, etc., and provide counseling both for pregnant women and for those who want to delay or avoid pregnancy. You’re either a gullible idiot or a true believer with zero interest in facts. As I’ve pointed out elsewhere, the vast majority of abortions take place in the first trimester, many when the fetus is an almost undifferentiated clump of cells. Late term abortions are only done when the health of the woman is in severe jeopardy. I’m not okay killing innocent women, but a large number of men such as yourself don’t seem to care at all about that.

          1. Joseph says

I don’t get fed any “nonsense” but you seem to have drank the Koolaid.

Did you know that prenatal services, or ‘counseling’ for pregnant women constitutes less than 0.28% of the “services” they provided? And referral for adoptions is less than 0.0076% of their “services.” Planned Parenthood counts almost every condom given out as a “service” So its 3.3% number of abortions of its 11 million “services” is not accurate. 1 out of every 10 visits to a Planned Parenthood Clinic is for the scheduled abortion, and these women average 3-6 “services” is counseling to get an abortion prior to the actual abortion, so the numbers Planned Parenthood uses as being just a women’s health care provider is a statistically blatant lie. Planned Parenthood provides 40% of all abortions in this country. Well over 60-75% of Planned Parenthood “services” are directly tied to abortions.

And honesty is something that Planned Parenthood has never engaged in since Ms. Sanger founded the clinic to practice eugenics to get rid of whomever she deemed “unfit” which included the poor, minorities and handicapped children. She coldly calculated that in order to do so she would have to lie about her purpose. The original board members of the organizations that would become Planned Parenthood were eugenicists and blatantly racist. In her autobiography Margaret Sanger admitted to giving a speech at a KKK event and boasted that afterward she was so well received that she received dozens of invites to speak at more such events.

“Birth Control propaganda is thus the entering wedge for the Eugenic educator.” (Margaret Sanger)

“Feeble-mindedness perpetuates itself from the ranks of those who are blandly indifferent to their racial responsibilities. And it is largely this type of humanity we are now drawing upon to populate our world for the generations to come. In this orgy of multiplying and replenishing the earth, this type is pari passu multiplying and perpetuating those direst evils in which we must, if civilization is to survive, extirpate by the very roots.” (Margaret Sanger)

“We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” (Margaret Sanger)

I don’t believe anything that Planned Parenthood puts out about caring for the poor, as its founder wanted to open clinics in poor neighborhoods to reduce the burden of the poor on society by eliminating them.

“Organized charity is itself the symptom of a malignant social disease. Instead of decreasing and aiming to eliminate the stocks [of people] that are most detrimental to the future of the race and the world, it tends to render them to a menacing degree dominant.”

PP and its supporters have consistently claimed to provide Mammograms, but they do not have the equipment to do one, they just recommend you go elsewhere. Their fee for service budget, in actual dollars, is over 51% involved in the business of providing abortions. They also take medicaid for abortions. Medicaid dollars, which can be up to 90% Federal funds, along with other federal funds, makes up well over 40% of their budget. So to say they are not using federal money for abortions is a lie, and only creative accounting practices keep this lie alive.

I am part of the medical community in Texas that has to care for the women damaged by Planned Parenthood. I know the actual statistics and not the accounting tricks used by Planned Parenthood to misrepresent their main business as an abortion provider. I also know that there are more 2nd trimester abortions performed than reported as that interpretation of an ultrasound can be a subjective call, but even if you want to make that specious argument, by the 8th week, in the middle part of the first trimester, there is a developed human child in the womb whose heart is already beating, and by the 10th week there are individual fingerprints.

I also know that you have no clue about what you write. You are the one who believes in the nonsense Planned Parenthood spoon feeds delusional liberals to hide their disrespect for human life.

          2. MrSwingGuitar says

From the official Planned Parenthood budget for 2014-2015
            31% for contraception
45% for STD testing and treatment
13% for “other women’s health services” don’t know the breakdown here
7% for cancer screening (read: pap smears)
            3% for Abortion services
            1% for “other services”
this included just under 3 million birth control (either services or information)
well over 4 million STD tests and treatment
            and 635,000 cancer screenings.
If you wish to provide actual data that contradicts that, I’d be interested. Your contention that you just KNOW that this is untrue doesn’t wash, however.

          3. Joseph says

And you prove my point, you just demonstrated that you believe everything that Planned Parenthood puts out without any questioning, a typical liberal groupthink. These stats are absolutely impossible given their financial sources and number of abortions as compared to actual numbers of women they see. You really have drunk the koolaid and have given up all attempts at independent and rational thought to defend the wholesale slaughter of innocent babies in the womb.

I m sorry, but this is all the time I have for someone so close minded and so intent to remain ignorant.

          4. MrSwingGuitar says

No, you moron, I don’t automatically believe anything I read. 501C(3) non-profits have to file such reports in order to prove they are fulfulling their stated mission, and such findings are subject to audits. You, on the other hand just prattled a bunch of number with NO source given, nor any reason whatsoever that I should give them the credence you clearly. do. If you cannot provide me with an authoritative source for you figures, then it’s clearly you that’s been sipping the infamous “koolaid”. p.s. use of that term, or of “lamestream media” or “libtard” identify the user as a complete idiot who can’t think for himself.

  16. Deby says

sigh, just another glaring example of the lengths the radical left stoops to -to protect their pc “achievements” (PP in this case) and woe to anyone who dares to disagree. this is not over, from what I heard this am on the news was that no actual indictment has been delivered, merely announced, but I am sure this is just the beginning of a real witch hunt-to defeat anyone daring to tamper with the government controlled giant entitlement called Planned Parenthood.

  17. downs1 says

These people will never learn until they stand in judgment before God Almighty when it will be too late! Then they will weep and wail and say, “I didn’t know! It’s not my fault!” Abortion of a living baby is murder! It has always been murder, it is murder, and it will always be murder! This jury is politically slanted and is not intellectually honest! This case will undoubtedly find its way to the Supreme Court who will probably agree, and they, too, will stand in judgment for this as well as their decision on same sex marriage! God is not mocked! This nation is finished!

  18. Ann Hertel says

How did the Grand Jury get chosen? I would have liked to see that process! Secondly and more importantly: How did the focus from the travesty of selling body parts of the victim the baby change to the focus on the person who saw the actions take place? Undercover work is what police do all the time and it is a lawful action . So when did the focus change? Why didn’t the judge bring the court process back to the evidence that demanded a verdict?
Justice is perverted by political correctness or by a person who was on the board of Planned parenthood and serving on this case who should not have been selected due to conflict of interest. Who can overturn this court process?

  19. Tiger says

Planned Parenthood has a PAC and the millions go to Democrats, 9 of who were on the Investigative Committee. They will make sure that this pit of vipers and abusers, who by the way have clinics throughout the world will be off the hook and the films most likely confiscated never to be seen again.

I watched everyone of them and when the Congressional Hearing came about it was found that none of the Democrats had watched any of the films that the Republicans got from the courts and at the end of that hearing, concerning where PP gets it’s money the Democrats promised to watch them, to bring the film makers to testify. Also the company that said the films were not doctored and the company that said they were to testify. So now I suppose all is done until we get a real president.

Shame on Texas. I was born there and this really gives them a Blackeye in my books.

  20. bohdanknianicky says

Unbelievable! It’s OK to murder the innocent but it’s a CRIME to expose it. We have lost our minds.

  21. Jackie says

All about politics and money! Corruption and deceit at its best.

  22. Albert L Biele says

These judges have used their power to guarantee that live babies can be disassembled and sold to the highest bidder; they totally failed to recognize the brutal and unconscionable slaughter of human life, and instead have chosen a political path that is contrary to the will of God. They no longer serve justice, and should be removed from the bench immediately. It’s an absolute disgrace. They have failed to protect the absolute, and most vulnerable human beings on the planet; unborn babies who were once viewed as a blessing. We have unfortunately sanctioned legalized murder. God help us!

  23. Dave McFarland says

Ladies and gentlemen, I predicted this very outcome. When we vote into office, or, we appoint people who believe the government should control the people, we must expect this type of tyranny. I have a number of friends who are so short of historical facts that most of them believe The United States Constitution is no longer relevant. Yeah, I said no longer relevant. To these friends I now consider suspects in the destruction of our once great nation. They will permit the very thing to happen for which The US Constitution was created to prevent.

    1. MrSwingGuitar says

Do enlighten me as to what in this process you find antithetical to our Constitution.

  24. paulrph1 says

It is time for the jury to step up. If a law is unjust the jury can nullify the law and it is their duty to do so. So it is OK to sell but not OK to purchase. The ramifications are that no criminal will ever be arrested.

Just shows that the fix is in through out Goverment !!!! Time to clean house

  26. Richard Hennessy says

Houston is becoming, or has effectively become, a liberal cesspool like so many other large cities. Because of the conservative Texas culture, the process took longer, but Houston has long been an embarrassment to the rest of the state and is getting worse. No surprise that this happened in Houston, like what would be expected in San Francisco or Los Angeles.

    1. MrSwingGuitar says

From today’s BBC: “Eleven states, including Texas, launched investigations after the
release of the videos. Nine have determined Planned Parenthood did
nothing wrong. The inquiries have yet to finish in Arizona and
Louisiana.” Are you seriously contending that NINE states have been somehow co-opted into being a “liberal cesspool” with no interest in truth? How about admitting the possibility that Daleiden and Merritt used deceptive editing, and that you just believed it because it confirmed your particular bias?

      1. Margaret MacGregor says

What are the states in question?

        1. MrSwingGuitar says

The article cited did not specify what other states had opened investigations, but one would assume it would be those more aligned with the “pro-life” stance. States like California, where there’s a vast majority in favor of legalized abortion, would have no particular political reason to mount such an investigation.

  27. AfricanTraveler1 says

I think it’s a wonderful turn of events when protesters who falsify evidence like these follks did get caught lying and prosecuted.

  28. jimmy midnight says

Grand juries notoriously do what prosecutors want them to do, and only what prosecutors want them to do. But real criminality is manifest in those whose ultimate goal, ironically, is the criminalization of all forms of birth control, not just abortion.

  34. MrSwingGuitar says

Okay, I think this article wins the prize for the single most deceptive “news” story thus far this year. First of all, charges weren’t “dropped” against Planned Parenthood. The grand jury was looking to see if there had been laws broken by PP, and concluded (rightly) that none were. In their investigation, they came across clear evidence that Daleiden and Merritt had in fact done so themselves. Mind you, they have been convicted of nothing at this point. Grand juries are independent groups that bring indictments. Daleiden and Merritt, who attempted to slander PP with heavily edited videos, will have their chance to defend themselves in court. My hope would be that Planned Parenthood will also bring civil cases against them, as it should not be allowed to promulgate slanderous lies without repercussions.

    1. MrSwingGuitar says

Hey Jim, I’d be interested in what you think is contrary to “the constitutional way” in this story. Our judicial system, as defined in the constitution, is designed to do exactly this sort of thing. Rather than rubber stamp a witch hunt, our courts are supposed to find the truth of the matter, and render indictments based on the rule of law, not on your particular prejudices.
