This Thanksgiving, Liberals Have Much To Be Thankful For

99

As millions of the nation’s liberals sit down to their Thanksgiving dinners this year, they will have much to be thankful for. While they are probably still lamenting the painful results of the midterm elections, that shouldn’t stop them from celebrating how much they’ve accomplished over the last few years. After all, they have nearly succeeded in transforming America into the progressive paradise they always envisioned!

It’s unclear to whom they will direct their gratitude, since it certainly won’t be God. Obama, maybe? Carl Sagan? Karl Marx? Who knows. But if they do spare a moment to count their blessings, the list will be long.

Women can give thanks for the ability to have an abortion covered by the government! You’ve come a long way, baby! Liberals of all sexes and races can thank the government for the rise of Obamacare, without which they might have to get a job. Illegals, of course, have plenty to be thankful for. They no longer have to “hide in the shadows,” after all. They took a gamble in avoiding pesky American laws on immigration and it paid off! That’s worth a second helping of pumpkin pie.

Ok, But Seriously

This is a dark way to look at the state of the country, of course, and I do so with tongue planted firmly in cheek. The truth is that conservatives have much to be thankful for as well. The country is perhaps not on the best possible track, but that’s politics as usual. Most true conservatives know that God’s blessings are abundant even when times are tough. We are thankful for the power to enact change in our own lives. We are thankful for our natural talents in whatever field they lie. We are thankful for family, friends, and life itself.

America may not be all that we wished it could be right now, but you don’t have to look far to see how much worse it could be. Even with liberalism out of control, there’s nowhere else on Earth I would rather live. Spare a moment to think of people suffering in Iraq, Syria, and elsewhere around the globe where any day could bring death and destruction from Islamic extremism. Be thankful you are not among them. Be thankful that we have a country willing to stand against atrocity.

The future of America is uncertain, but the future is always uncertain. Every day, we will continue to fight against socialism, liberalism, and the threatening philosophies that want to change the country into something it was never meant to be. And that’s all we can do. Spread the message. You’ll never convert a staunch liberal, but you can certainly convert an undecided independent. You can certainly convert a teenager. Teach through example. Show the values of hard work, discipline, and individualism. When demonstrated correctly, the tenets of conservatism never fail to inspire. This Thursday, let’s be thankful for what we have.

Were we better off with Ried and the Progressives in charge? Did we even have a chance with them in? 400 Bills on Reids desk? I don’t like either party but it was a choice between two evils.

If they don’t do their job then come 2016 I am going whole hog for an Independent or a Libertarian and I will fight to rid us of these two parties that are corrupt and filthy to the core.

Garbage bills! You peeps keep bringing up the 330 crank bills that no one wants. You never have read them and don’t know what they are, that’s how ignorant baggers are!!

        1. 7papa7 says

Yea just like obamacare that none of you commies in congress read and the dumbest broad in the history of the house, pelosi, saying we have to pass it to know what is in it. Talk about stupidity of the highest, look to your own party and get it fixed before you complain. At least the bills were sent to the senate and nobody stopped them from reading or debating them except your punch drunk moron reid. Until you can get your fact straight why don’t you go back to soros and the rest of the anti American, anti Constitution, anti Military traitors. You are not welcome here.

I disagree Papa, it is amusing to read the moronic posts of the swallow first, taste later commie c^#ksuckers. and as an American capitalist, I have some contracts for them to sign, that they won’t need to read of course.

        2. Conservative says

Just like Obamacare noone had a chance to read them, debate them or vote on them. You are just a laqpdog Democrat willing to allows the Socialists think for you.

The latest enrollment figures on Obamacare 427,000 in just a month!
Soon baggers will be defeated by running against it. By 2016 it will be an issue that democrats can use against the GOP to win elections.
The GOP has nothing to run on, They have no jobs bills, no healthcare bill, no immigration bill…they have Keystone, for the wealthy, that’s opposed by every farmer and citizen in states it runs across. We have enough oil thanks to Obama , we don;t need ted cruz canadian oil. That goes across our american land only to be shipped out to the chinese. Yes, the chinese. If it’s not built the chinese will buy it from canada. The pipeline is a special interest prommisary note to the Koch bros for all their money they spent ousting democrats. lol
It’s time for your GOP to bendover and take Koch up the azz!lol
Next perk is not jobs either, it’s the medical device tax- for more rich peeps, and so on. You peeps will probably get a donut and a cup a coffee for you vote! lol

Ever hear anyone in the Republican Party or affiliated with it that said their Base was Stupid? Uh Uh nope, nada, noway, just you Sops and Fops and Peasants.

          Go figure.

          1. jetmagnet says

That would be counter productive. The idea is to get you to vote without thinking what you’re voting for. lol

        4. AirFrank says

Really? Really? Some of those bills passed with over 400 votes which means both sides wanted the change. But you just can fix stupid and you’re all kinds of stupid.

          1. jetmagnet says

There were 352 bills, 55 Democratic-sponsored bills that passed the House, fewer
than half — 24 — could reasonably be described as substantive. And
many of these were the kinds of measures lawmakers would be hard-pressed
to vote against — for instance, the National Pediatric Research
Network Act of 2013, the Homes for Heroes Act of 2013, the Traumatic
Brain Injury Reauthorization Act of 2014, the Newborn Screening Saves
Lives Reauthorization Act of 2013, the Protecting Students from Sexual
and Violent Predators Act and the Human Trafficking Prevention Act.
            The remainder of the 55 Democratic-sponsored bills — a majority —
aren’t exactly the most high-profile measures pending in Congress.
Thirteen were technical changes to local federal lands; five approved
honorific names for postal or other buildings; four addressed federal
studies or advisory committees; three were bills sponsored by a
non-voting territorial delegate; three concerned narrow technical
corrections to existing legislation; one concerned U.S. coinage; and one
was a private bill granting an immigrant visa to an individual.
of the 570 bills and joint resolutions that have passed the House in
the current Congress, 377, or 74 percent, originated as suspension bills
            — a streamlined process used for non-controversial measures that
requires two-thirds approval. And of the 142 measures signed into law by
Obama, 118, or 83 percent, were approved by that same two-thirds
            requirement.

Meanwhile, many of the other bills that pass the House in today’s
environment are bills that are intended to make a statement, not a law. lol

“designed to lay the predicate for action via compromise” or
consensus, which are declining, and those “designed for show or as a
political statement, where there is neither intention nor expectation
that the other house will act on them.”

Where substantive, contentious legislation is concerned, the odds of
passage are poor. One example is the Senate-passed (and bipartisan)
immigration bill, which remains stuck in the House. Another sign is the
fact that the Senate has not yet passed any of the 12 annual
appropriations bills — even though the House has passed seven and the
Senate Appropriations Committee has approved eight.

By contrast, the second category of “show” bills includes dozens of
full or partial repeals of the Affordable Care Act passed by the
            Republican House. lol

The list contains dozens of ceremonial or parochial bills — including
31 bills to name or rename post offices or federal buildings, at least
nine bills to authorize a study, such as whether Mill Springs Battlefield in Kentucky should be included in the National Park System,
and at least 13 that deal with federal land (transferring or
exchanging, or expanding boundaries, for example). There are also two bills to strike commemorative coins, and a third to award a gold medal to golfer Jack Nicklaus.

21 bills that actually became law through other
vehicles, including 10 appropriations bills that became part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2014.

The list also contains five concurrent resolutions, which are nonbinding and do not go to the president, and two bills (HR 4250 and HR 5161) that had Senate-approved versions waiting for action in the House.

All this above add up to 84 bills and resolutions that either shouldn’t be on the
list or would have little or no impact on the course of the nation.

We do not doubt that some of the 387 bills on McCarthy’s list are
substantive and that some of the 46 bills on Boehner’s list may help the
economy. But any suggestion that there are 387 bills being ignored that
could “grow our economy” or even would “help the country” is an
exaggeration, and so is the speaker’s statement that “almost all” of the
46 “jobs bills” are bipartisan. The GOP doesn’t create jobs, Obama does.
Like i said, “garbage Bills” Your right “there ain’t no cure for stupid” and most of you are stupid because you listen to fox news, garbage in garbage out.
99% of fruitcakes who listen to rightwing news are less educated than people who don’t listen or watch any news.

        5. Peatro Giorgio says

Talk trash after the senate majority leader is Mitch McConnell. Then will see how fast those bills are pulled out of the pocketed bills. Which the ass hole Harry the turd Reid kept pocketing . After all stupid they were passed by majority in the house. They were never allowed to come up for either an up or down vote in the senate. O and us tea-baggers added to our strength; In both the house and senate this election cycle though we did not add as many as we had hoped for. Little by little we are ridding our selves of the Rino’s so called moderates Really all they are is progressives in Republican garb. An the No one wants as you say is because no one was getting a free hand out. Like you were looking for. Right you freak-en dead beat.

      2. 7papa7 says

I am with you girl. The only reason I voted R in the last 2 elections was because I knew how bad obama was going to be, but IMHO a RINO is no better than your average democrat but better than obama. Of course I will have to see who is running in 2016 but like President Reagan said about leaving the democrat party, I didn’t leave it, it left me. That is how I feel about the republicans. My hope is that we get a candidate with the strength, integrity and character of Senator Cruz not some major RINO like Christie.

        1. Yadja says

We need a hero and Washington did not want to be president but he gave in and did us all a favor. We have to have a Warrior, someone who believes in our Republic, our Constitution, our Bill of Rights and our country in general. They need to come quickly. Because we are in trouble.

Cruz has already back peddled the only ones who have not are Perry, Gowdy, Sessions along with Scott Walker and a few others. If they don’t do the job we will get someone who will and they will be hasbeens.

          1. 7papa7 says

I was referring to someone with his qualities. Someone who is strong, has integrity, has a strong character, loves the America, Constitution, Military etc. From you list I like Gowdy and Walker the most.

          2. Yadja says

I like Scott Walker. Already heard Rand Paul, Cruz, Rubio and others being turncoats.

          3. 7papa7 says

I also like Walker. I agree with you about Rubio and Paul but I haven’t heard anything like that about Cruz.

          4. Yadja says

I can’t remember exactly what it was but it shocked me he said it and it was in a Breitbart column.

I like Perry and at first due to his poor performance in the last debates I thought he was another Palin, but I have read his speeches and listened to him speak on Israel and he was very much on the spot, assertive and very Reaganist in his presentation so I researched him further and I like what I see.

If he gets it going and continues to fight O and refuse to play footsie with him I think he has a good chance of winning. A Perry/Walker ticket I think would be powerful.

          5. 7papa7 says

I agree with you about Perry. My concern is that if he goes up against someone like hillary she will eat him alive if their is not a major improvement over his performance previously. His ideas are great, but if he can’t present them with force we will lose. Maybe a Walker/Perry ticket. The VP debates usually don’t carry much weight. People vote for the president not the VP. That should be obvious, look at who the VP is now.

          6. Yadja says

Agreed but I think he will beef it up and I have seen him be assertive. HiIlary is old, fragile and unsteady. She will be easy to fight and I don’t even think she will run.

          7. 7papa7 says

When Perry is giving a speech he is over the top good, I just haven’t seen him strong in a debate or question and answer environment. I guess we will see in the primaries if he is able to be what we need in a candidate. I hope he is.

          8. Peatro Giorgio says

Well This politically motivated criminal court case Rick Perry is fending off in the Texas Superior court has made him Much Stronger ! I have watched with great anticipation as he has maneuver through this process, If he in fact maintains his strong presence in this case. I truly believe He will be unbeatable in either the general or primary election for president. In 2016.

          9. 7papa7 says

I can see no way he would not be victorious. He acted totally 100% within the law.

          10. jetmagnet says

He’s too stupid and a crook, but then again, republicans have no morals as the continue to vote for crooks and thieves as long as their republican…the country is full of lousy GOP congressman and uneducated morons in the senate.

          11. Peatro Giorgio says

Hay jetmagnet . You sound like your huffing jet Fuel. The only uneducated moron I am presently aware of is the idiot calling Perry a crook. Whoa what progressive demo dog ass hole have you slithered out from

          12. Yadja says

He understand his position I believe and he knows he is the number one on the list of possible candidates as evidenced in this last election poll. He will come up and out and he will be strong.

He has 2 years to prepare and stay in the public eye with speeches and presentations and ideas.

          13. 7papa7 says

            I hope he is successful.

          14. Yadja says

He is now beefing-up his presence and he will continue to grow in the right direction. I hope he makes a dent in this election because I don’t like Jeb Bush at all and not sure about Cruz.

          15. 7papa7 says

I heard him at the governors convention and he is not coming across strong. I hear far to many “I thinks”. That shows indecisiveness. He needs to present it more of this is the way it is. I think tells me he is not convinced of what he is saying even though what he is saying is sound. I totally agree with you about Jeb Bush, he seems like a really nice guy and I would like to have him as a neighbor but NOT president. I don’t think Cruz is eligible because he was born in Canada and at the time his father was not a US citizen to my understanding. However much of that is from the media so it may not be accurate. I have not heard or read anything about him that would stop me for voting for him if eligible. The problem I am having with the republicans is that they are taking the attitude of he/she is better than obama. I don’t want someone who is just better than obama, almost anyone in the country is, I want someone who is right for America.

          16. Yadja says

Agree with your post. I personally don’t like either party and find them both repulsive in their own way. The fact we are stuck with the same guys in charge of the Senate and House is discouraging to me.

We need new blood in this country, sound ideas that are in line with our Republic, our Constitution and our way of life. We need to secure our sovereignty and O is going to give it away by signing onto the UN’s Resolutions on Guns, the Seas and Global Warming and he will make sure it is not in treaty form so as to bypass the Senate to vote or validate.

He is just started and he will go into high gear before it is over. Someone needs to stop this man however they can.

          17. 7papa7 says

I agree. The republican party is no longer what it use to be where it fought for what is right. Because it has caved so badly to the pig in the white house our country is going down the toilet at warp speed. I just can’t understand why they don’t get it, they were elected to stop obama NOT cave to him. It is time that they stand up and be counted. It is time they grow a spine.

          18. Yadja says

Somebody has to do something and they have to do it fast. He is going at breakneck speed to complete his agenda and they no sooner start to think about one thing and O hits them with another. He is such a bonofasitch now with going to release more Gitmo schmucks, he disgusts me to the marrow of my bones and it is going to take some serious work on all who see what he is and what he is doing to stop him before we can’t stop him.

          19. 7papa7 says

I agree, I only hope that the congress realizes that they were elected to stop obama, that was the primary reason. If they fail the congress may be lost in the next election. We need to get rid of the RINO’s that are in leadership and replace them with solid conservatives. They better grow a steel backbone or it may end up being resolved in a more violent fashion.

          20. Yadja says

If he were White and we all were Black just think of the violent acts we could commit across this country to insist he be prosecuted for breaking our Federal Immigration Laws.

But alas we are White and he is Black and if and when it comes down to the fine wire of we are on the brink of Dictatorship, we will have our Revolution again. Oddly enough not to rid ourselves of a foreign Monarch but our own president who turned Tyrannical.

You remember that in the beginning of our country there were those who liked the Monarchy and did not want to be free, same stuff different day. Who would have ever thought this would happen in America.

          21. 7papa7 says

The level of anarchy we are seeing in the country is because of obama. He promotes within the black community. A little secret, obama has always been tyrannical he just held it under wraps. Now with nothing to lose it is coming out in full force. It saddens me that the congress hasn’t called up the military to arrest him. His butt belongs in prison and IMHO he should be the bunk mate of a white supremacist. We would then have some real jail house justice.

          22. Yadja says

Yes he is what he was trained and bred to be. He will eventually get what he deserves. When he gets out of the WH he will for ever have to watch his back. Good luck with that.

          23. 7papa7 says

First off you are assuming he has plans on leaving the WH. He will do whatever he can to make sure he stays there. Once he is forced out he will also have to live by the idiotic laws he passed.

          24. Yadja says

I am fully aware he will not leave unless Prosecuted for not following our Federal Laws on Immigration and for all the other sins against this country without force.

His laws will be null and void if the Republicans choose to do their job. He fears being challenged with Prosecution because he is double checking his rights and his Executive Orders with Constitutional Experts etc. He does fear there is a chance he will be ousted or jailed.

He should be and if anyone really represents us he will be along with Holder.

          25. 7papa7 says

I was referring to when his time should be up but you are absolutely right in what you said. Don’t plan on the congress doing anything based on history. They are spineless and are more concerned about their job than doing what is right. What they don’t get is if they don’t do their job they will probably lose their job. The people have reached the point that they have had it with them.

          26. Yadja says

Understand. I can’t believe that when he first came to office there were those saying they wish he could stay and be a Dictator. It amazes me that people would want a Dictator….guess they have forgotten their ancestors stories or they don’t know history or they are indeed “Stupid”.

I have not a clue what is going to happen. I just keep after my representatives daily to Prosecute him and Holder. I send them messages everyday including week-ends, I am fighting with all I have and can.

I even call the WH and ask him to stand down. We have the means, the reasons, the proof positive and everything we need to bring him to his knees begging for mercy then give him no Quarter of such.

He deserves the worst punishment any president has ever received at the hands of the people and their reps.

            May it be so.

          27. 7papa7 says

I am in total agreement. I think one of the lines in the 10 commandments movie are very appropriate here when pharaoh said so let it be written so let it be done. Many have written so now let it be done.

Clean house, fumigate , repeat as necessary

          32. Le Roi Sans Sa Reine says

i wish it were as simple as shampoo instructions. I vote anti-incumbent straight down the ticket ~ even when I have to hold my nose to do it ~ but unless I can count on everyone else to do the same then ‘cleaning house’ is merely a pipe dream.

If we merely keep switching parties to show our unhappiness then both Smurfs and Elmos alike plenty arrogant enough to think that we have abandoned our mistaken pursuits for those that really matter ~ THEIRS!

How sad is it that in order to express our unhappiness with the whole FUBAR system our only choice is to revert to those whom we previously rejected?

Ahhh, but if we rejected them ALL what a message it would send. What fear it would strike into the hearts of Washingtonian squatters. … and how useless would it be for K Street to waste their money buying their influence. Within one, maybe two, election cycles, obscene political donations would dry up because the incumbent would never be there long enough to do them good or US harm.

About 30% of the pop votes Smurf no matter what and 30% votes Elmo no IFs, ANDs or BUTs. That means that we only need 21% of that middle group to vote against the incumbent and VOILA! we have swept out a majority of congress.

There would always be those Elmos in deep red states and Smurfs in deep blue states that would be a little tougher. Queen Pelosi would be near impossible. I swear San Franciscans are so dumb that when she retires/dies they will build a wax figure of her and send it to their congress on their behalf.

Only those 66-67 senators that were not up for re-election and a few stubbornly safe incumbent seats would remain.

But if we keep paying lip service to “vote the bums out” while voting for our own guy “Cuz he’s/she’s okay” then we will never get past what we have ~ a bunch of self serving me, me, me skumbags that SWEAR they know what the American people want.

I would be happy if one of the requirements to be serving in Congress, was that they have to pass a test in economics, business, and simple math, because CLEARLY…none of them seem to have a grasp of it, beyond, of course, the numbers that are added to their bank accounts via insider trading and ‘deep wallets’.

          35. Le Roi Sans Sa Reine says

You know I love the way you think …. but sadly (and constitutionally) there is nothing beyond the basic age requirements along with the caveat “lawyers preferable”.

And it isn’t always that they don’t understand “economics, business, and simple math,” … The understanding that many of them have is what allows them to manipulate it to sway the low info voters on both sides.

I still maintain that the best, most united show of force WE the people can exert is to completely sweep out the incumbents EVERY election cycle.

Sweeping out the incumbents every cycle is not practical if some are worthy of the job. But whether or not they are worthy, should not be determined by their party affiliation.

The only thing party affiliation has done, is to allow people to say, “My side won!” even though their ‘winning’ may not be what they think it is. Just watch the next two years…there will be no winners, except for those who purchased a politician.

It is of no great surprise to me that America is the second most ignorant country amongst developed nations. No surprise at all.

The longer they are in, the more they turn to the dark side …. but I think of it this way, if there are a couple good ones out of 535 pieces of sh;t then get out the biggest broom you could possibly find and USE IT!

[… there will be no winners, except for those who purchased a politician.] ….. and that is my point. There is no more purchased politician than the squatters that have been there multiple terms. Get rid of them and you make K Street start all over again. They can try to buy challengers, but if challengers know the people are going to elect them then why sell out?

Let me conclude that mine is, at this point, but a pipe dream. To many people exclaim, “VOTE THE BUMS OUT!!!! …. shhh …. except my guy, he’s ok.” The reality is that I can’t vote out your guy and you can’t vote out mine. WE have to count on EACH OTHER to vote out our own guys.

So, like I said …… a pipe dream.

The most irritating thing to me is when people like Mitch McConnell give a speech after winning that is right on and then as soon as they are back into the seat of power they begin to back peddle.

They are forgetting that “We the People” who did vote them in are not “Stupid” that we know they can Prosecute the president and Holder and that they can Defund O’s programs, this is the one thing we do have to fight a tyrant. They best to act or I am fearful that the people have gone from disliking to hating O and hate is a very powerful emotion that can bring about commotion.

Something will come down. Now we hear O is giving O Care to these people and he intends to give SS and Medicare to those he did give immunity from Deportation to.

Just as many of us have said all along it is going to be up to the Governors to take care of their people and I believe we will see it happening starting November. Surely this Congress will insist our Federal Immigration Laws are followed.

@jetmagnet. Not to excuse Perry, but have you heard the typical person on the street or person on a college campus have no clue on many basic questions of similar, but a lot easier, or should be questions. But they all know who is in the picture shown when it is a current male or female singer.

I can remember thinking about the day ever coming when a joke by John Belushi (Bluto) about the “Germans bombing Pearl Harbor” would actually be a straight faced answer to the question posed today.

Check out the hoi polloi, particularly those as the age groups get younger. I have newly graduated engineers working on rotational assignment with me. We often have loads of windshield and air time together to discuss topics as they arise. I am concerned about their lack of or superficial understanding of foundational history on most any historical topic. I blame the now almost completed mission of the progressive agenda. Keep them stupid. Look up George Santayana, except he states forgetting about history, not being completely ignorant of it.

I can clearly recall being their age, along with all of my contemporaries, knowing stuff that’s we considered fairly easy to know facts. We essentially learned them by immersion through our young lives and to be frank, just by showing up in class. The more complex stuff you did have to pay attention.

What will become of our future generations? Just ripe for a current day Goebbels.

Could we PLEASE have a Constitutionally ELIGIBLE candidate rather than compounding the Dems’ sin with O? Cruz is NOT eligible, never can be! Plus, he wants it too much, which makes him dangerous all by itself!

          1. 7papa7 says

I didn’t say Senator Cruz should run, I said we need someone with his qualities and that is a big difference.

          2. sandraleesmith46 says

Sorry, I did assume you meant him, and O is such a STRONG example for why our Founders did include the specific requirement for the office of POTUS; I cringe every time someone suggests an ineligible candidate. No matter how good the candidates seem, the wisdom of that requirementis clear, at least to me. Walker or Gowdy would work, and a few others.

          3. 7papa7 says

Would I like him yes but I agree with you about his eligibility. My concern is why is this even coming up because he is ineligible. He came down hard on obama’s eligibility so it makes no sense that he would run and cause the same stir.

We wiil have a true Conservative running and I pray voters are smarter this time around and more informed. I pray they vote fot Character, Integrity and one that truly loves Ameerica and will put Americans FIRST!!!

          1. 7papa7 says

I hope we do have a true conservative. We will have to see who is running. Their are a couple of folks I would love to see run. The problem that conservatives have is they have to overcome the spineless who have a great deal of input on who becomes president by who they support. That is why we haven’t seen a real conservative for many many years. We need to the old timers out and replaced with the Cruz’s, Lee’s, Gohmert’s, Gowdy’s etc who put America first NOT their jobs. If they get fired they can go out with their head held high because they did what was right to take America back.

I know this is possible with the right man and this is what I pray for everyday…

          3. 7papa7 says

I totally agree with you. I see a few folks who would make excellent presidents like Louie Gohmert, Trey Gowdy, Mike Lee, Scott Walker plus a handful of others. Actually Louie Gohmert may be better as a justice on SCOTUS.

The country goes backward with republicans and forward with Obama.
Maybe you can tell me why the hell you voted for a do nothing- that will do more nothing?

          1. 7papa7 says

You better get back on your medication. Since obama got into office he has alienated our friends, the IRS under his watch have violated about everything they could, he let 4 people die in Benghazi, he apologizes for the greatness, pre obama, of America, he has increased the jobless rate to an all time high and I could go on for pages but even a liberal should get it. You say the republicans do nothing, interesting because they have passed over 340 bills which the punch drunk incompetent boob reid has refused to bring to the floor. Obama has NOT passed a budget since he got into office which is Constitutionally required. Everything obama does is for his big donors and again the list goes on and on and on. You need to start getting facts yourself instead of listening to the lying spin of the communist aka democrat party. Minimal research would tell you that you are so so so wrong.

          3. 7papa7 says

I got the information by researching that thing you haven’t done. I guess you read the bills if you think they are garbage. What did they say? How about an analysis of a couple of them along with the text of them. You are not worthy to deal with anymore, this is my last post. Stupidity and obama drones wears me out.

          4. jetmagnet says

By contrast, the second category of “show” bills includes dozens of
full or partial repeals of the Affordable Care Act passed by the
            Republican House. lol

The list contains dozens of ceremonial or parochial bills — including
31 bills to name or rename post offices or federal buildings, at least
            nine
bills to authorize a study, such as whether Mill Springs Battlefield in
Kentucky should be included in the National Park System,
and at least 13 that deal with federal land (transferring or
            exchanging,
or expanding boundaries, for example). There are also two bills to
strike commemorative coins, and a third to award a gold medal to golfer
            Jack Nicklaus.

21 bills that actually became law through other
vehicles, including 10 appropriations bills that became part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2014.

            The
list also contains five concurrent resolutions, which are nonbinding
and do not go to the president, and two bills (HR 4250 and HR 5161) that
had Senate-approved versions waiting for action in the House.

            Like
i said, “garbage Bills” Your right “there ain’t no cure for stupid”
and most of you are stupid because you listen to fox news, garbage in
            garbage out.
99% of fruitcakes who listen to rightwing news are less educated than people who don’t listen or watch any news.

    Thanksgiving Proclamation

Issued by President George Washington, at the request of Congress, on October 3, 1789

By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation.

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and—Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favor, able interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquillity, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other trangressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally, to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

    Go. Washington

Here’s what baggers have to be thankful for! lmao!

“House GOP says sequester is leverage in next budget battle,” that House Budget Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan is pushing for cuts in Social Security and Medicare:

Senate Republicans stopped Democrats from advancing a bill that would
have expanded healthcare and education programs for veterans.

    In
a 56-41 vote Thursday, the motion to waive a budget point of order
against the bill failed, as Democrats fell short of the 60 votes needed
to overcome the Republican roadblock.GOP Sens. Dean Heller (Nev.) and Jerry Moran (Kan.) voted with Democrats.

It also sought to permanently fix a cut to the growth rate of
veterans’ pensions. Earlier this year, Congress passed a bill to avoid a
cut in the growth rate for current service members and veterans, but
anyone enlisting after 2013 would still see a cut. Sanders’s bill would
have eliminated that cut as well.

Sanders slammed Republicans for trying to attach the issue of Iran sanctions to the measure.“Whatever
your views are, it just does not belong in a veterans bill,” Sanders
said at a press conference after the vote. “And I think the vast
majority of the American people understand that. I found it rather
incredible. Keep voting for republicans and watch your benefits disapear! Happy thanksgiving!
