Wisconsin Parents Unhappy About Transgender Video in School
For whatever else LGBT Pride Month brings to our country, it apparently emboldens teachers and schools to introduce elementary students to material that would probably be best left outside the classroom doors. That’s the case in Madison, Wisconsin, where parents are rightfully upset about a video shown to students at Frank Allis Elementary School, which serves kids from Kindergarten to 5th grade.
On May 16th, a science teacher named Vica Steel (formerly known as Mark Busenbark) showed what lawyers are calling a “transgender coming out” video to students so they would understand why the former Mr. was now becoming a Ms. Oh, sorry, a “Mx.”
The Liberty Counsel is sending an official request for records to the school, demanding to know exactly why this video was shown to students and alleging that the school may be guilty of unconstitutionally endorsing the “orthodoxy” of the transgender lifestyle. They are also legally curious about a book Steel read to students entitled, “They Call Me Mix.” Included in the book are quotes such as: “BOY or GIRL? Are you a boy or a girl? How can you be both. Some days I am both. Some days I am neither. Most days I am everything in between.”
Say all you want about discrimination and so on, but would you really want someone like this around your kids? Would you want them working for you? This is beyond “sexual preference” and well on the other side of mental instability. The very fact that Mx. Steel was able to keep his job after going through this bizarre transition is questionable enough; the fact that the school is allowing him to spread his infectious form of derangement to little kids is nothing short of shocking.
Or as a parent of a first grader at the school wrote: “I’ve had to sit down with my kids and explain that what they heard is flat-out wrong and incorrect. We will be kind to others, but we WILL NOT be involved in adult games of make-believe. Shame on those that support this!”
In a statement, Mat Staver of the Liberty Counsel was dumbfounded by the school’s negligence.
“It is outrageous that school administrators would allow a male science teacher to expose children to propaganda that promotes confusion about basic biology, and to instruct students to address him by a false name, title and pronouns,” Staver said. “These impressionable students do not exist to validate Busenbark’s sexual identity. Parents send their children to school trusting that they will be taught academic curriculum, not become participants in a teacher’s play acting.”
We could be wrong, but we have a feeling that incidents like this one, stories of men dominating women’s sports, and other forms of transgender madness are going to create a widespread backlash sooner than later. Acceptance, tolerance, and leave-well-enough-alone, that’s one thing. Actively forcing the entire country to buy into your delusions? That’s a whole different story.
