“Coup Has Started”: Whistleblower Lawyer’s Tweet Comes Back to Haunt

It’s now becoming clearer than ever that the so-called Ukraine whistleblower is just an excuse for Democrats and left-wing activists to pursue an impeachment they’ve been planning from the first moments of Donald Trump’s presidency. This week, old social media posts from the whistleblower’s attorney, Mark Zaid, surfaced, and they tell a damning story of a raging partisan who has been aiming for Trump’s downfall for nearly three solid years.

“The coup has started,” Zaid tweeted in January 2017. “Impeachment will follow ultimately.”

Zaid said this at a time when there were not even halfway-legitimate accusations against Trump for any kind of wrongdoing.

Six months later, Zaid was back at it again.

“I predict @CNN will play a key role in @realDonaldTrump not finishing out his full term as president,” he wrote in June 2017.

Later that month, he tweeted: “We will get rid of him, and this country is strong enough to survive even him and his supporters.”

One more from June 2017: “45 years from now we might be recalling stories regarding the impeachment of @realDonaldTrump. I’ll be old, but will be worth the wait.”

You want to talk about a vast political conspiracy? Hillary Clinton, eat your heart out.

How is it that this partisan, Michael Avenatti-wannabe just so happened to wind up representing the man known only to the mainstream media as the “anonymous whistleblower” who lit the impeachment fire? How is it that the man the rest of us know as “Eric Ciaramella” happened to cross paths with Zaid, a lawyer who’s been gunning for Trump since Inauguration Day? That doesn’t smell just a little bit fishy to anyone else?

If only we had an independent media willing to ask these questions instead of what we actually have, which is a bunch of Democrats with bylines pretending to be journalists. Then we might see Ciaramella outed to a mainstream audience. Then we might see journalists clamoring to sit down with the whistleblower so they could ask him why he was motivated to go to Adam Schiff with his concerns. We might even have a handful of reporters wondering why Ciaramella’s original whistleblower complaint got so many things wrong.

Unfortunately, we have none of those things. The media has lined up to protect this guy, and we guarantee that none of these liberal operatives will bother asking Zaid what he meant when he said the “coup has started” in January 2017.

Despite all of their handwringing about the demise of democracy, they do not seem the least bit interested in questioning the anti-democratic impeachment hoax playing out right in front of their eyes.
