Democrats on Defense After New Congresswoman’s Offensive Impeachment Rant

With the help of a giddy and adoring national media machine, the Democrats were reveling in the joy of officially taking over the new Congress on Thursday. No doubt the champagne was flowing as Nancy Pelosi and friends gathered around Capitol Hill televisions to watch all of those glorifying images of their new Speaker hoisting the gavel high. Oh, and what about that rousing nomination speech from Rep. Hakeem Jeffries? What about all of those sparkling headlines about the “most diverse Congress in history”? Wow, did you notice that we now have two MUSLIM WOMEN in our ranks? How wonderful!

Ah, but then one of the Muslim women opened her mouth and, in the process, a giant can of worms.

Just a few hours after being sworn into Congress, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan let her exuberance get the best of her in front of supporters a few blocks from the Capitol. She did the thing that gets Democrats in trouble more than anything else: She said out loud the stuff you’re supposed to only insinuate. You’ll see this from time to time, like when a senator idly fantasizes about nuking the population of the U.S. to make people give up their guns.

As conservatives, we should appreciate it when someone like Tlaib promises to “impeach the motherf***er” to rousing cheers. It’s refreshing when these people take off their masks (or hijabs) to show us who they really are. It’s instructive.

But oh boy, Democrats don’t like it a bit when you say the quiet part out loud. They know that they only reason they EVER gain power is that they don’t actually give the game away. With the gleeful assistance of the media, they lie, obfuscate, and hedge when it comes to their real agenda. The entire system of progressivism works because you only, only, only talk about the next step. The next small step. And that’s all. Then we’ll stop. We promise.

Throughout the midterm campaigns, Democrats (well, most of them) were very careful in the way they talked about President Trump. Oh, they vowed to oppose his agenda, natch. They promised to fight for the Affordable Care Act, of course. And yeah, they were going to put together some very strong investigations into the president’s campaign, his taxes, his businesses, and how he eats his breakfast. But impeachment? Oh no, oh no, we’re not interested in that at all. We want to govern, that’s all.

Tlaib threw all of that out the window.

“I don’t really like that kind of language,” Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) said on CNN. “But more to the point, I disagree with what she said. It is too early to talk about that intelligently. We have to follow the facts.”

But you’ll notice that he didn’t exactly deny it, did he? It’s only “too early.” As in, we assume, a few months too early.

Thanks, Ms. Tlaib. You did America a great favor on Thursday. And in a few months, when the impeachment hearings begin – based undoubtedly on the flimsiest of premises – all the other Democrats are going to look like the liars they are. You may be crass, and you may be “problematic” to people like Pelosi, but hey, at least you told the truth.
