(FixThisNation.com) – Following the recent revelation that classified documents were found in three different locations that belonged to Joe Biden, Republicans have been pressing for more investigations. However, it is not just the Republicans that are looking for answers. Democratic lawmakers have also been looking for further investigations that would provide more clarity about the documents and the possible threats that may exist because of the three batches of classified documents found.
The first batch of classified documents was found in a private office held by President Biden in the years after he left the White House and before his presidential campaign in 2020. The other two batches were found in two separate locations in his Delaware home. The documents all date back to the Obama administration.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) Attorney General announced that Robert Hur would be taking over the investigation as special counsel. The White House has also been clear that the Biden administration would continue to cooperate with the investigation fully.
Adam Schiff, a Democratic Representative from California, has been one of the most prominent Democrats to call for further investigations. As Schiff notes it is impossible to understand what potential national security risks could exist if there is no further investigation. He added that much like they wanted an assessment of the risks relating to the Mar-a-Lago classified documents, it is now important to have a similar review of the classified documents found in Biden’s possession.
Schiff has also noted that nonetheless it so far appears that the documents found in Biden’s possession were placed there accidentally and that the situation was “inadvertent.”
