Fired Medical Exec Suggested Trump Supporters Don’t Deserve Ventilators

Last week, Laura Krolczyk, the vice president for external affairs at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, took to Facebook with a reprehensible viewpoint on the kind of coronavirus medical treatment supporters of President Donald Trump deserve. Bantering on the social media site with Lisa LaTrovato of Hauptman Woodward Medical Research Institute, Krolczyk began the exchange by linking to an article reporting on the Trump administration’s hesitation in paying General Motors $1 billion to make ventilators.

“Vote Trump,” Krolczyk wrote sarcastically in response to the article.

“But will waste more than that on a wall and space force,” replied LaTrovato.

Krolcyzk then wrote: “Trump supporters need to pledge to give up their ventilators for someone else … and not go to the hospital.”

“I think they should be the only ones in packed churches on Sunday,” remarked LaTrovato.

“They should barricade themselves in there and ride this out,” said Krolczyk.

“Yup,” LaTrovato wrote.

After watching this exchange go down, a horrified Facebook user weighed in on the conversation. “Wow, just wow,” they wrote. “So you’re saying we decide who lives and dies based on political views? Great plan.”

“That’s literally what he’s saying,” Krolczyk wrote, referring to Trump. “Take your ‘wow’ and comprehend what your hero is saying. Your hero is saying YOU don’t need a ventilator. So don’t take one. Also don’t cash your stimulus check. It’s all a hoax. Chew some ibuprofen and be on with your day.”

Krolczyk’s bosses at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center were not impressed with her heartless take on the health care measures Trump supporters deserve in a pandemic, and they relieved her of her duties after an investigation into her Facebook remarks. Over at Hauptman, LaTrovato has also been placed on leave for her role in the conversation.

“This behavior is not tolerated at Roswell Park. If any team members act in a way that does not accord with that commitment, we will take swift and appropriate action, just as we did in this instance,” the organization said in a statement.

Is it worth noting that Krolczyk used to work for Hillary Clinton?

Yes, we thought that was quite relevant.

Is it just us, or have leftists taken a certain amount of…joy…in watching all of this go down? If we didn’t know better, we’d almost think that some of them are reveling in this pandemic, as if it proves something about how evil the United States is. As if it somehow proves them right about Trump. As if it somehow justifies everything they’ve been saying for the last four years. You’d think, from listening to them, that they’d spent the last decade screaming about an impending viral pandemic and not about climate change, identity politics, and men spreading their knees too far apart on the subway.

If so, we must have missed it.
