In New York City’s Fort Greene Park, individuals belonging to a group called “Disarm NYPD” had their hearts set on a good old fashioned flag burning Wednesday evening. When bikers and military veterans caught wind of their plans, however, these protestors found that not everyone is willing to stand by and watch the stars and stripes go up in flames.
The counter-protestors arrived in the Brooklyn park before the Disarm NYPD group and bided their time. One biker told website The Blaze everything that needed to be said about their intentions. “We’re here to fuck up tiny liberal punks,” he said.
Perhaps seeing the folly of going nose to nose with a group of patriots, the anti-police activists switched strategies. They quietly moved to another section of the park, well away from the flag’s defenders. When the patriots realized that a flag burning was in progress on the other side of the park, dozens of them rushed to the scene for a confrontation. Ultimately, the “liberal punks” were driven out of the park.
According to the group’s Facebook page, the burning was intended to attack systematic racism. “There will be no peace until we tear down this system of oppression,” they wrote. “It isn’t enough to take the flag down; we must put an end to white supremacy once and for all.”

The scuffle comes as the country turns against the Confederate flag, declaring it as a symbol of racism and demanding its removal from Southern culture. Not everyone has embraced this movement, however; many conservatives have warned that the Rebel flag is only the beginning. Some, like Rush Limbaugh, have warned that the American flag will be the next great symbol to fall under attack. And while we’re likely a ways from a mainstream anti-flag movement, this sentiment is already spreading amongst extreme leftists.
If we’ve learned anything over the last couple of decades, it’s that underground liberalism always manages to rise to the surface. Like a light cloud of toxic gas, it permeates academia, obscure online blogs, and then eventually mainstream politics. Limbaugh’s warning, therefore, is not such a wild prediction. In fact, it would be shocking if it did not come to pass within the next decade. That’s just who liberals are.
It’s no secret that the left hates the South. And they hate any area of the country that mimics the South, which includes the majority of U.S. states outside major cities. They despise the values and traditions of rural America, and they are on a determined path to erase them one symbol at a time. That’s what this is about. And before it’s over, every God-fearing patriot in this country is going to have to choose a side.
