Hollywood Votes to Remove Trump’s Walk of Fame Star

West Hollywood’s five-member city council voted unanimously on Monday to remove Donald Trump’s star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame following two incidents of vandalism and several protests that have centered around the attraction. While the council’s vote will not be the final word on the star’s fate, they will be sending a letter to L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti and the Los Angeles City Council for further consideration. Ultimately, the decision will be left in the hands of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which has dominion over the famous Walk.

The city council may have cited the costs of repairing the vandalism as the chief reason for the vote, the proposal to remove the star had very little to do with those practical concerns. West Hollywood council members John D’Amico and Lindsey Horvath were responsible for the original proposal, and in advocating for the removal, they cited President Trump’s attitude towards women and his opinions of global warming.

“Similar to how certain members of the entertainment community have been removed from the Academy of Motion Pictures, due to their actions toward women, reflecting a stance on their values by the Academy, this is an opportunity for decision-makers to take a stand on their values in support of women and against disturbing treatment of women,” the proposal stated.

The members of the council said that Trump’s decision to pull the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Agreement and his ban on transgender military personnel were also in contrast to the city’s values.

We assume that everyone else who has their name plastered on that sidewalk is a flawless liberal who perfectly represents the “values” of friggin’ West Hollywood.

To say this is ridiculous in Hollywood, where so many stars are legendary for their bad behavior, is to state the obvious. Then again, we’ve come to expect nothing but ridiculousness from Hollywood and the state surrounding it. California has declared itself the headquarters for the Grand Trump Resistance, so this is merely par for the course. And we won’t be the least bit surprised if Garcetti, who is aiming for the governor’s mansion, gets right on board with it. What a way to stick it to the man!

If we were the president, we would be honored to have our star removed from such a sleazy, leftist town. Hollywood doesn’t deserve Donald Trump.
