How The GOP Will Investigate Biden’s FBI

( – Following the slow start of the 118th Congress, House Republicans have already started what they claim is an investigation into the “weaponization” of the federal government. On Tuesday the House voted on the creation of a Select Subcommittee whose focus would be to probe into this issue. The vote was passed along partisan lines in a 221 to 211 vote.

Some of the investigations that the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government is to carry out will include looking into the Department of Justice’s two cases concerning Donald Trump. One of the cases is about the U.S. Capitol riot, while the second case concerns the classified documents recovered through the controversial FBI raid into Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.

It is unclear whether the committee will be able to gain access to information on the DOJ’s open investigation as this would not follow the normal allowances of a House committee. Many have also been outspoken about how it would be crossing a line if they did try to gain information about open investigations.

The GOP has also mentioned that the subcommittee would look into Attorney General Merrick Garland’s allegedly asking the FBI to “spy” on parents who opposed the COVID-19 regulations and the teaching of critical race theory.

The special subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee will be chaired by Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan. One of the most important cases that they are set to take on will also concern allegations that the FBI collaborated with Facebook and Twitter to bury the New York Post story about Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 election.
