Jury Clears Kevin Spacey of Anthony Rapp’s Molestation Accusation

Oscar-winner Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey has been cleared of the accusation of sexual battery brought against him by a younger actor Anthony Rapp. The jury in a downtown Manhattan courthouse deliberated for 90 minutes on Thursday before declaring Spacey “not liable” in the civil sexual misconduct suit.

Kevin Spacey has been accused of sexual assault or molestation by more than a dozen men over the years. In 2017, Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of molesting him at a party in New York City in 1986 when he was 14 and Spacey was 26.

Rapp told BuzzFeed News that Kevin Spacey, who was the party’s host, invited Rapp to his bedroom, picked him up, threw him on the bed, and climbed over him in a sexual manner. Spacey denied the allegation but said:

But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior.

In 2020, Rapp sued Spacey for $40 million in damages over the alleged sexual assault and battery of 1986. The trial was eventually held this month and the jury found Spacey not guilty on all charges, but not before some emotionally charged testimonies and explosive revelations.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail, Spacey’s older brother Randall Fowler revealed that their father Thomas Geoffrey Fowler was a Nazi who raped him (Randall) throughout his adolescence.

He said that their mother knew of the abuse. Randall added that he had threatened his father if he tried to abuse Kevin the same way, he’d tell the world about his sexual abuse.

The allegations of sexual assault by multiple men against Spacey took a more sinister turn in news when some of his accusers started dying in a way that many perceived as suspicious.

In December 2019, Law Enforcement Today published a story about the reported suicide of Ari Behn, the 47-year-old Norwegian author, playwright, and visual artist, who had accused Spacey of groping his genitals in at a nightclub in 2007.

His death followed that of an anonymous massage therapist who had accused Spacey of sexual assault and mysteriously died in September 2019. Earlier that year, a woman named Linda Culkin, who had accused Spacey of sexual misconduct, was struck to her death by a vehicle in Massachusetts while she was crossing the street.

Following the jury’s verdict in favor of Spacey on Thursday, Anthony Rapp posted on his Twitter page that he will continue to stand up against all forms of sexual violence.

Kevin Spacey is a liberal and a friend of Bill Clinton. He has long been suspected of being gay but he kept quiet about his personal life for decades.

When Rapp accused him of sexual misconduct, Spacey came out as a bisexual man who now lives as a gay man.
