Kamala Wants Us To Take A Break And Imagine A World Of Zero Emissions
Kamala Harris, America’s first female Vice President, might not be focused on locking down the southern border, but you can count on her to make interesting statements every once in a while that might not always make sense.
On Monday, Harris joined Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg who commented on how important it is to provide ‘clean’ transportation to Americans.
Harris and Buttigieg paired up for an event to celebrate the first anniversary of the Democrat only supporting the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act, which passed last March.
During the event, it seemed like Kamala Harris was advertising electric vehicles, rather than hard-hitting issues that are affecting Americans. “Our transportation sector has reached a turning point. We are all in the midst of a turning point. We have the technology to transition to a zero-emission fleet. Our administration together, all of us, is working to make that possibility a reality.”
She went on to say “We can clean our air and protect the health of our children. We can connect all our communities for affordable, accessible, and reliable public transportation. We can address the climate crisis and grow our economy at the same time.”
Biden’s $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure deal, which was signed in November, included $7.5 billion for electric vehicle charging stations and $5 billion to buy low-emission electric buses.
Buttigieg believes electric buses can improve public health. He said “transportation has to be a big part of the solution to the climate crisis and to air pollution. One of our tools for doing that is public transit.”
Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.), who is a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee criticized Harris and Biden administration.
Vice President Kamala Harris and DOT Secretary Pete Buttigieg spent the afternoon promoting electric vehicles and Green New Deal policies. Are you kidding me? The Biden Administration could not be more tone deaf.
