(FixThisNation.com) – Recent polls of the anticipated 2024 presidential race have been showing that President Joe Biden’s approval ratings are much higher than those of former President Donald Trump who is currently facing criminal charges.

At the same time, Trump’s ratings have improved in the GOP base as he is performing better in the GOP primary polls, however, when it comes to the broader voting public, he remains an unpopular choice.

The most recent national survey by Quinnipiac University showed that Biden was leading with 49 percent against Trump’s 45 percent in a hypothetical matchup. The poll had a margin of error of 2.4 percentage points.

The same poll also showed that Trump was winning against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a hypothetical match for the GOP nomination in 2024 by 14 points.

Similarly, an ABC News/ Ipsos poll showed that Biden’s approval rating appears to be close to 10 points higher than that of Trump’s. His favorability across most Americans is at 34 percent, whereas Trump’s is only at 25 percent. This particular survey was conducted between April 6 and 7 and had a 4.4 percentage points margin of error.

Trump first announced that he would be running for the 2024 presidential election one week after the 2022 presidential election in November. Following a years-long investigation he has now been indicted in charges resulting from the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s probe on the hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election allegedly in exchange for her silence over their affair a decade earlier.

The ABC/Ipsos poll showed that 48 percent of Americans believe that Trump needed to suspend his presidential campaign following his indictment.
