Nigel Farage: The “Merkel-Obama Wall” is Falling

Nigel Farage, one of the leading voices of the Brexit movement, is still glowing in the light of Donald Trump’s extraordinary victory in the U.S. elections. Now turning his attention to an upcoming run-off election in Austria, Farage told Fox Business that the country will likely be the next to take a hammer to the “Merkel-Obama wall” of multicultural globalism.

“The poor darlings are in denial,” Farage said. “They simply can’t face up to the fact that their worldview has taken an absolute beating in the year of 2016.”

Farage said in the interview that the movement he started in the U.K. was sprouting significant seeds all across the Western world. “It began with Brexit – the first brick out of the wall – and now we have a Trump presidency in the USA,” he said. “And let me tell you, in two weeks time we have a re-run of the Austrian Presidential election and the last contest was scrapped because of electoral fraud and the possibility of a right-wing Austrian nationalist candidate winning.”

Farage, who – even to a greater extent than Trump – has been on the cutting edge of the anti-establishment mood of the West, is optimistic about the rise of prudent nationalism.

In France, Trump’s ideological kin – Marine Le Pen – said the Republican’s stunning upset victory was a bright moment in history for freedom.

“Americans have voted. They have rejected the status quo,” said Le Pen. “They showed, through a decision which surprised those who believe situations are unchangeable, that the world moves, that the world changes and that movement is part of the life of nations. What happened last night was not the end of the world, it was the end of a world.”

That world, still being championed by Obama and Merkel (and the rest of the global left), has not been consigned to the history books just yet. Yes, we stand on the precipice of a revolution in Western civilization – a return to the patriotic unity we enjoyed just a few short decades ago. And the signs are good.

That said, it will take more than just a couple of elections to really turn the tide of history. The left isn’t going to simply say, “Hmm, ok, you guys try it your way for a while.” They are gathering forces even now to stage the most vicious comeback in political history. The only thing that will keep those forces at bay is success. Economic success, cultural success, domestic security success, and more. Results will speak louder than words over the coming years.

But if putting our own national and economic interests ahead of the rest of the world does not result in success, color us surprised.
