Obama Directs Rage Towards Trump, Not Terrorists

After a gut-wrenching American tragedy like the one in Orlando last weekend, a grieving nation wants to see their president display some of the anger we’re all feeling. And President Obama, in a speech from the Treasury Department on Tuesday, did not disappoint. His rage was palpable. He was practically seething. Finally, Mr. Cool showed the country that he’d had it up to here…

…with Donald Trump?

Obama launched into a tirade against the Republican nominee, blasting him for his proposed ban on Muslim immigration.

“Where does this stop?” he asked. “Are we going to start treating all Muslim-Americans differently? Are we going to start subjecting them to special surveillance? Are we going to start discriminating against them because of their faith? Do Republican officials actually agree with this?”

Obama also addressed the growing number of Republicans and conservatives who wonder why he refuses to call this sort of terrorism by its true name.

“If there’s anyone out there who thinks we’re confused about who our enemies are, that would come as a surprise to the thousands of terrorists we’ve taken off the battlefield,” he said. “There’s no magic to the phrase ‘radical Islam.’ It’s a political talking point. It’s not a strategy.”

Trump responded at a rally in North Carolina, saying what many observers couldn’t help but notice.

“I watched President Obama today and he was more angry at me than he was at the shooter,” Trump said. “That’s the kind of anger he should have for the shooter and these killers that shouldn’t be here.”

Instead, Obama and the Democrats are more worried about Muslims in the wake of these terrorist attacks than they are about the country they’re supposed to be protecting. They want us to know that Omar Mateen was not representative of most Muslims.

But after Dylann Roof shot those people in a black Charleston church, Democrats had a much different view. You didn’t hear Obama out there cautioning Americans against painting southerners who fly the Confederate Flag with the same broad brush, did you? No, instead, the Democrats went on a months-long campaign to eradicate symbols of the Confederacy.

And when that nutjob killed people at a Planned Parenthood clinic last year, what did the Democrats have to say about that? Did they warn us not to confuse the millions of peaceful anti-abortion activists with the killer? No, no. Some of them went as far as to blame congressional Republicans for inspiring the attack!

But when it comes to Islamic terrorism – sorry, radical extremism – it’s a whole ‘nother story. Every incident is isolated. Every terrorist has their own twisted motivations. We have to remember the real danger: Islamophobia.

Trump, at his rally, said, “We can’t be led by weak, ineffective people.”

That’s true, but his rival Marco Rubio might have said it better in his oft-mocked “rehearsed” debate comment a few months back: “Let’s dispel the notion that Barack Obama doesn’t know what he’s doing. He knows exactly what he’s doing”

If we’re ever going to get our country back, we might want to memorize that phrase ourselves.
