Well, wouldn’t you know it? After weeks of watching Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan and every left-wing pundit and Democrat in the country blame President Donald Trump for inspiring the militia members who plotted to kidnap her and overthrow the government, new affidavits show that a Delaware man charged with planning the escapade had his sights set on the president as well. Looks like these weren’t the Trump-loyal, white supremacist, alt-right, Breitbart-fueled hooligans that the media told us they were. Huh. What a shock. What a total damn shock.

A Delaware man accused of plotting to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer also threatened to hang President Donald Trump and posted a hit list on Facebook targeting other elected leaders, including former President Barack Obama, according to an unsealed search warrant affidavit obtained by The Detroit News.
The affidavit provides new details about how the FBI thwarted the alleged plot to kidnap Whitmer, a Democrat, and kill police officers by enlisting the help of confidential informants. One of the informants was a militia member who met a group of men accused in the kidnapping plot and became so concerned that the individual agreed to become an FBI confidential informant, according to the court filing.
The affidavit gave federal agents permission to search a Facebook account belonging to Barry Croft, 44, of Bear, Delaware, who was one of six men charged in federal court with conspiracy to kidnap. Evidence collected by FBI agents portrays his Facebook account as a virtual bulletin board filled with violent imagery, including a noose and a list of grievances in which he mulled killing Democrats and Republicans including South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster, Muslims and liberals.
In addition to making Facebook posts with pictures of Trump and saying, “Wanna hang this mf’er too,” it’s worth focusing on McMaster, the Republican governor of South Carolina. This guy was one of the first elected Republicans to come out in support of Donald Trump during the 2016 primaries when most GOP lawmakers were putting enough distance between them and him to make a new Grand Canyon. So the fact that Croft was telling his buddies that McMaster would be the “first” to go tells you something about the man’s political ideology; i.e., it doesn’t exist. This guy is an anti-government extremist.
Now of course, the next question is whether Croft and his associates were actually serious about going through with any of this, but we’ll let that play out in court where it belongs.
We’re only interested right now in rejecting the media/Democrat/Whitmer narrative that says that Trump is somehow responsible for inciting these guys with his criticism of the Michigan governor. There is no evidence to support that theory, and it is irresponsible and completely reckless for anyone to report on it as if it were fact.
In other words, a perfect continuation of the stuff we’ve seen for the last five years.
