(FixThisNation.com) – Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) stated that there is going to be a “humanitarian crisis” following the end of Title 42 later this week. During her recent interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Sinema told host Margaret Brennan that everyone in her state, Arizona, knew that they were not prepared to handle the influx of immigrants. She proceeded to argue that the Biden administration had two years in which they could have worked to prepare everyone for the expiration of the order but that they had failed to do so. As she claims this means that they could soon end up facing a humanitarian crisis that they were unprepared to handle.

Title 42 is a Trump-era health policy that allowed for immigrants to be expelled at the border without having to be processed through the normal asylum procedures. The order is now set to expire on May 11, as the public health emergency has now ended.

Last week, Sinema and fellow Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) introduced a bipartisan bill that would allow the Biden administration to continue expelling migrants without a hearing even following the end of Title 42. This bill was meant to help ease the transition while giving the Biden administration the resources to do their job while members of Congress created a plan to handle immigration.

The senator proceeded to slam the federal government for not taking action to secure the southern border and handle the immigration border. The Biden administration has now announced that they will be deploying 1,500 active-duty troops to the border to help assist with the expected increase in migrants.
