(FixThisNation.com) – Rep. Hageman (R-Wyo.), who ousted former Rep. Cheney (R-Wyo.) from Congress in the 2022 midterm election primary officially endorsed former President Trump in his 2024 presidential bid.

The endorsement came on Wednesday, one day after former Governor Nikki Haley (R) became the first major Republican party member to challenge Trump in the GOP primary. Haley had previously served as the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations during the Trump administration.

Hageman told Breitbart that Trump had backed her in her 2022 election, and she is “proud to stand with him in 2024.” Her comments were also shared through Trump’s Make America Great Again PAC.

Trump endorsed Hageman in 2021 after she announced her bid for Cheney’s seat. He had previously promised that he would do everything he could to have Cheney removed from Congress, and had decided that Hageman was the person to assist him in this task.

Cheney was one of Trump’s top targets at the time because she had frequently opposed his unfounded allegations of election fraud in 2020. Cheney was also one of the few Republicans to have voted to impeach Trump after the Capitol attack of January 6, 2021.

Hageman beat Cheney during Wyoming’s Republican primary in August by a wide margin of 35 percentage points. She was also able to easily win in the November general election.
Cheney has said that she is considering placing a bid for the White House herself in 2024.
