Trump Just Endorsed This Congressman

President Donald Trump is endorsing Wisconsin Congressional candidate Derrick Van Orden. In a statement, Trump announced his endorsement of the retired Navy SEAL.

The former Commander-in-Chief called Van Orden a strong supporter of the military and law enforcement. Trump also added Van Orden will always fight for secure borders, the Second Amendment, and the nation’s incredible farmers.

Van Orden is seeking to flip Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District, held by Democrat Rep. Ron Kind since 1997. However, Kind announced his retirement this week, confirming he will not be running for a 14th term in 2022.

Van Orden is an American patriot, retired Navy SEAL, husband, father, grandfather, and Christian. He met and married his wife, Sara Jane, over 27 years ago.

Derrick and his brother were raised in rural poverty by their beloved mother, Carol, who taught them the importance of hard work and self-reliance. She was a fiery Irish farm girl who also taught them to speak plainly and never back down from a just fight.

He had the honor to serve our great nation for 26 years. He retired as a Navy SEAL Senior Chief with five combat deployments and several others to troubled areas in the world.

When Ron Kind, the Democrat who represented his District, along with the Democrats in the House of Representatives, voted to impeach President Donald Trump for purely political reasons. Derrick decided, enough is enough.

He felt he was called back into public service, this time as a candidate for Congress in the 3rd District of his beloved State of Wisconsin, and he could not be more proud than to have received and his second endorsement from President Trump.

Van Orden was also endorsed by Trump in 2020 when he lost to Kind by less than 3 points. Trump carried the District by nearly 5 points, making it a prime target for Republicans even before Kind announced earlier this month that he would not be running for a 14th term in 2022.

Trump said in his endorsement statement that he was backing Van Orden because “He strongly supports our Military, Veterans, Law Enforcement, and he will always fight for Secure Borders, the Second Amendment, and our incredible Farmers.”

No Democrat has yet to announce plans to run for the seat since Kind announced his retirement plans.
