Trump: Only “Fools” Would Oppose Better Russian Relations

In a series of tweets on Saturday, President-elect Donald Trump said that he would have to question the intelligence of any Americans who did not want to pursue closer relations with Russia. Responding a day after he met with U.S. intelligence leaders for a full briefing on Russia’s involvement in the DNC hacks, Trump remained committed to his vow to seek a warmer alliance between Russia and the United States.

“Having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing,” Trump wrote. “Only stupid people, or fools, would think that it is bad! We have enough problems around the world without yet another one. When I am President, Russia will respect us far more than they do now and both countries will, perhaps, work together to solve some of the many great and pressing problems and issues of the WORLD!”

Of course, the people who want to turn this hacking issue into THE STORY of the election aren’t doing do out of stupidity; they’re intentionally trying to weaken Trump before he takes office on January 20th. The left knows that he’s coming to Washington with big plans that can only be implemented if he has the power of the people behind him. As long as he maintains that fiery grassroots movement that catapulted him to the White House, Democrats (and some Republicans) will be impotent in their efforts to oppose him.

So, the strategy is clear: Spend every ounce of energy between now and Inauguration Day trying to turn the people against Trump. Thus, we hear again and again how he lost the popular vote (thanks solely to deep-blue California). Thus, we hear that he’s going to run the country purely for the benefit of his real estate empire. Thus, we hear that the only reason he won was because Vladimir Putin handed him the election on a silver platter.

And then they get all upset when the prevailing reaction to all of this messaging is a resounding yawn from the American people.

Perhaps if we hadn’t just been subjected to a year and a half of non-stop Trump coverage that ranged from “biased” to “Holy crap, this is literally just propaganda,” we would be a little more interested in the Russian hacking story.

Using a little bit of common sense and drawing from a wellspring of patriotism, Trump will soon have an opportunity to put this country back on the right path. The leftist media is terrified that Obama’s mistakes will be revealed in full, living color. Whether the subject is Russia, healthcare, or the economy, they don’t want to have to admit they were wrong.

And knowing them, they never will.
