Trump Raised An Astounding $105 Million This Quarter, Blasting Past Dems

If President Trump and the Republican National Committee keep raising money like they have been, Democrats are going to be in serious trouble when the general election rolls around. When you combine the money with Trump’s inimitable ability to command media attention whenever he wants it, you have a one-two punch that will be difficult, if not impossible, to overcome. No question about it, the momentum, the energy, and the passion is with Trump and the Republicans going into 2020.

According to Trump’s re-election campaign, the campaign and the RNC raised a combined $105 million in the second quarter of the year. Not only does this amount dwarf anything raised on the Democrat side, it even exceeds the monstrous amount that President Obama raised during the same period of 2011. All of this money can be shuttled into advertisements, get-out-the-vote campaigns, and online research. It’s going to make Trump’s “Keep America Great” campaign a true behemoth for the Democrats to face.

“The president’s campaign manager, Brad Parscale, called it a ‘massive fund-raising success’ based on enthusiasm for Mr. Trump’s record, which he said no Democratic candidate could match,” reported The New York Times. “Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the R.N.C., said the fund-raising allowed the committee to ‘identify troves of new supporters online and continue investing in our unprecedented field program.’”

The Times went on to dismiss the figures as “underscoring the benefits of incumbency,” we wouldn’t be so quick to chalk it all up to that. Yes, for sure, there is an enormous benefit to being the sitting president as you head into an election year. You get the lion’s share of the media coverage, you can essentially command the spotlight whenever you want it, and Americans are relatively used to seeing you sitting in the Oval Office. None of that can be discounted.

On the other hand, very few presidents have “enjoyed” the kind of negative media attention that Trump has gotten over the last three years. George W. Bush can relate, to some degree, but even his media firestorm was nothing compared to the ongoing inferno that Trump faces on a daily basis. He is the first president in U.S. history who can literally do NO right in the eyes of our biased press, and this inevitably trickles down to the voters. For him to overcome that glaring obstacle to raise this kind of money is a testament to more than just incumbency.

Alas, the media is going to underestimate Trump once again in their desperation to dethrone him. Ah well, it will just make victory all the sweeter.
