Trump Rejoices at Rally: “The Collusion Delusion is Over!”

At a jubilant rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Thursday night, President Trump spoke before a raucous, excited crowd of what looked to be about 20,000 supporters. Looking at that sea of MAGA hats, victorious chants, and outright adoration coming from a state that was never, ever supposed to go Republican in the 2016 election, you have to wonder if there’s anything Democrats can do to win in 2020. That’s not a call for complacency, by any means, but it’s hard to imagine. What other president has ever drawn this kind of crowd at this point in his tenure? The sort of devotion that Trump receives from his supporters is unlike anything this country has ever seen before.

Why is that? What is it about this guy – a minor celebrity in the American public consciousness for the last thirty years – that would suddenly make him an absolute hero to so many people in 2019? Well, to us, it’s obvious. What other Republican president could go through what this man went through for the last two years and come out on the other side stronger than ever? What other Republican president could stand up to the withering assault from the media, the Democrats, and his own Justice Department? What other president could hold his head high and endure what amounted to a leftist coup? That is what Trump’s supporters saw in him from the moment he joined the race – the ability to actually fight for what’s right.

And boy did he fight. If he wants to take a victory lap, he’s more than earned it.

“The Democrats have to now decide whether they will continue defrauding the public with ridiculous bullshit,” Trump said, drawing an electrified roar from the crowd. “Partisan investigations, or whether they will apologize to the American people.”

“The economy is roaring, the ISIS caliphate is defeated 100 percent, and after three years of lies and smears and slander, the Russia hoax is finally dead,” the president said later. “The collusion delusion is over. The single greatest political hoax in the history of our country. And guess what? We won.”

That we did, that we did.

Unfortunately, Democrats don’t seem to understand that. That’s why we have The New York Times saying that William Barr’s letter “raises questions” about the truth. That’s why we have Adam Schiff out there still insisting he’s seen conclusive evidence of collusion. That’s why Elijah Cummings is warning, absurdly, that unless Democrats get to see the whole Mueller report, we could have a “constitutional crisis.” They can’t believe they lost, just like they couldn’t believe they lost in 2016. They just can’t get over the fact that Donald Trump is president, and they are willing to go to any lengths – no matter how insane – to change that fact.

Seeing as how they are 0-2 so far, though, our money is on Trump.
