Trump to Pelosi: Focus on Your “Mess” of a Hometown, San Francisco

In a broadside against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Saturday, President Trump advised her to spend less time worrying about the impeachment process and more time focusing on her hometown constituents.

“I can’t believe that Nancy Pelosi’s District in San Francisco is in such horrible shape that the City itself is in violation of many sanitary & environmental orders, causing it to owe the Federal Government billions of dollars – and all she works on is Impeachment,” Trump marveled on Twitter. “We should all work together to clean up these hazardous waste and homeless sites before the whole city rots away. Very bad and dangerous conditions, also severely impacting the Pacific Ocean and water supply. Pelosi must work on this mess and turn her District around!”

This was not the first time that Trump turned his spotlight on Pelosi’s San Francisco. In August, he told supporters in Cincinnati that several California cities were turning to squalor under the leadership of Democrats.

“What they are doing to our beautiful California is a disgrace to our country,” he said. “It’s a shame. The world is looking at it. Look at Los Angeles with the tents and the horrible, horrible, disgusting conditions. Look at San Francisco.”

But Pelosi was not the only California Democrat on Trump’s mind as Saturday morning unfolded. He also took aim at one of the lead architects of the impeachment inquiry, Adam Schiff.

“The Ukraine investigation is just as Corrupt and Fake as all of the other garbage that went on before it. Even Shifty Schiff got caught cheating when he made up what I said on the call!” Trump wrote.

Then it was time to turn to “badly failing presidential candidate Kamala Harris.”

“Harris will not go to a very wonderful largely African American event today,” he wrote, “because yesterday I received a major award, at the same event, for being able to produce & sign into law major Criminal Justice Reform legislation, which will greatly help the African American community (and all other communities), and which was unable to get done in past administrations despite a tremendous desire for it. This and best unemployment numbers EVER is more than Kamala will EVER be able to do for African Americans!”

Harris pulled out of the event (and then re-instated herself) over the weekend, throwing a tantrum because a group called Bipartisan Justice gave an award to Trump based on his signing of the criminal reform bill into law. Harris was upset, apparently, because she got the same award several years ago and was horrified that she might have to admit that Trump has done just as much for minority communities as her. Indeed, listening to some left-wing criticism of Harris’s tenure as a prosecutor, Trump might be seen as having done much more.

But this is what happens – to Harris, Schiff, and Pelosi. You turn someone into the devil with your outlandish rhetoric, and then you wind up looking foolish when an independent group simply sticks to the facts. Because “the facts” are a concept that the Democrats left behind a long time ago.
